Atticus Fell
In the middle of a large forest, a single boy waited. Vines curled wildly around his feet, like snakes coiling after prey. In his hand, a large staff waited, looking much like the forest around him, but with a mythical energy to it, a unseen power.
In a clawlike grip on the top of the staff, a green gem sat, looking much like the staff of a magical entity. Indeed, the boy was very much a magical entity, yet strangely human.
He paused, glancing back as new people seemed to fall into the area, a confused, yet quickly overjoyed look on his face.
This is where Naida, Irene, and Sanna would have fallen. Into the somewhat burnt ground, with new plants thriving.
No ordinary forest indeed, as almost immediately, the boy fixed them all with a look, "Welcome to the garden, Champions."

STYX
In the remains of a ghost town, sitting along the edges of a small river, with blood seeming caked around, a young girl, with hair as dark as night and bangs as white as snow, sat staring into the waves beneath. Mist clouded the air, cold, and heavy.
It was the type of ghost town that set a bad feeling into your bones, a chill that stayed and never left.
The girl, who didn't seem to really acknowledge the new people nearby, continued singing her lullaby.
"Ring-a-ring-a-rosies A pocket full of posies Ashes, ashes, We all fall down"
As she sang, she turned her head slightly to look at the newcomers, Lane, Theo, Griffin, and Seely, her lips turning into a grin, the words almost seeming distorted as she said them, blood dribbling slightly from her lips.
She didn't say anything more, silver eyes flickering away as she turned back to the water, humming still, crouched down still, as blood dripped into the water in soft drops, spreading murky like the mist.

A seaside city was being battered by a storm the likes of which it had ever known. The sky was like dark iron, heavy with raindrops grey like steel. The sea churned furiously, and streetlamps flickered on despite the sun rising.
A girl with long dark hair and eyes that seemed a strange mix of amber and green-grey was perched on the wall of a pier, her hair whipped by the breeze. She wore a silver circlet with pale blue-grey stones set into it. An object given to her by her patron, Ceto.
She faced away from the ocean, the storm raging behind her as the waves crashed furiously against the pier. The girl leaned back on her hands, crossing her legs as she watched two make figures fall in front of her. One, a redhead. The other, a blond. A pin on the blond boyโs leather jacket still glowed for a moment as he struggled to his feet, clearly disoriented. It was a pin made of gold and amber, in the shape of a lyre. The champion of Apollo. And judging by the dog tags the other boy was wearing, he was the champion of Ares.
The wind grew stronger, around Gwen Anker as a slow smile spread across her face. A Danish accent was evident in her voice as she spoke, her tone soft but menacing as it carried in the stormy winds.
โYouโd think the gods would get bored of throwing champions to their deaths like cannon fodder.โ she said โSo you are the new Ascendants, hmm? Pity, I really expected someone a little more... heroic.โ
Lucien was barely taking in the words of the 18-year-old in front of him, too busy trying to get his bearings and make sure River was alright.

In the middle of a plateau sat a young woman, peering down at the crumbled earth and cement below her. There were a few objects strewn about: an old car that was caked in rust, a couple of destroyed mailboxes, an old shed, etc. It was hard to tell what the location was originally, but the condition of the earth itself was enough for someone to be unsettled by.
The womanโs hair was gnarled and ginger and her skin an almost sickly pale color. Her clothes were battered and torn, hanging loosely on her compacted figure.
Her attention was soon drawn behind her as a couple of new faces appeared on her plateau. Her face contorted to a scow as she made her way up and approached them, rising the ground underneath herself until she stood a foot taller than both of them. Really? This was who she was stuck with? They were too tall for her liking.
As she stared down at them from her earth stand, the corners of her mouth twitched in visible irritation. โOn your knees, worms,โ she demanded, almost sounding like a bratty rich kid in the process, โYouโd rather not test my patience here.โ

Laneโs necklace, the one with the beads given to her by Hermes to signify her soulโs limbo status, started to glow, becoming surrounded with a strange electric blue glow.
Moments later, Lane found herself falling in much the same way she had been when she first arrived at the Pantheon, a stomach-dropping fall that felt like it would never end.
When she first arrived at the Pantheon she had done so quite gracefully, likely because Hermes was a god of travel. This time, it wasnโt so. Hermes obviously wasnโt in control of this particular journey, because the first sign to Lane that something might be wrong was when she collided inelegantly with the ground.
The second was the creepy girl singing a lullaby.
Pain shot through Laneโs entire body as she struggled first to her hands and knees, and then to her feet. A quick glance to her necklace, the glow of which was now fading, told her that her soul was still okay.
What she did notice, however, was that she wasnโt alone. Theodore, Seeley and Griffin had also fallen; Lane had no idea where the others were but now was not the time to worry about that.
Because right now, oh dear God, blood was dribbling from the girlโs lips. As if the nursery rhyme needed to be more creepy.
Lane was starting to wonder whether letting Hades take her soul would be such a bad thing after all.
โHey, Iโm not the only one seeing a creepy singing girl, right? Like I didnโt just hit my head really hard?โ Lane questioned in hushed but urgent tones to the others
Talking of said creepy girl, Lane got a strange feeling from her, one that she couldnโt place. It made her unsettled, and she suspected that it aaa making Hermes uncomfortable too for some reason.
A feeling that made her hand reach up to touch her necklace on instinct.

Pascal being told the other kids were just teasing didnโt do too much to comfort his anxiety. In fact, it made him feel worse since people would think he was getting upset over just a little joke. It stopped him from leaving at least.
By the time breakfast had rolled around, he was barely able to keep himself awake. The coffee wasnโt enough to keep him energized, so when he sat down to eat, he ended up slumped over the table and fell fast asleep.
Even while a large number of the ascendants seemed to have been summoned outside the Pantheon, he barely stirred from his sleep. He only managed to lift an eyelid ever so slightly before completely passing out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After barely being able to eat what Lorenzo had cooked, because of her upset gut, Irene was sent hurtling out of the pantheon to godsโ know where. She wasnโt having fun, not in the slightest. She wasnโt fully awake and was still feeling the effects of the monstrous concoction that the others had made for her. This day was not her day. She landed rather ungracefully in the new location. She had rolled across the ground, kicking up a lot of dust in the process. When she came to a stop, she coughed a bit, using her hand as a fan to wave away the rest of the dirt. Irene stood up to take a quick glance at her location. She spotted Naida and Sanna. Thankfully she wasnโt alone in this. However, the man that welcomed them gave her an uneasy feeling.
โItโs him, isnโt it,โ Zeus seemed to mutter in the back of her mind.
Irene didnโt bother to ask him what he meant by that before facing the man. โWhat she saidโ she exclaimed when Naida spoke โSeriously, what the **** is going on and why the **** did you call this a garden?! Is this your doing or are the Gods ****ing with us again?!โ
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Getting thrown out of the Pantheon after spending some time chatting with Seely was not how Theodore wanted to spend his morning. At least he got breakfast, but it was still too early in the morning to be dealing with the godsโ shenanigans. When he appeared in what looked to be a ghost town, he couldnโt help but feel his blood run cold. What were they there for? He was thankful that he wasnโt alone at least. Letting out a deep breath, Theo did his best to calm his nerves before he spoke. โAlright, everyone has to stay calm and-โ He was cut off by Lane when she pointed out the young girl. Theo pinched the bridge of his nose before replying โItโs just a girl, calm down Quicksilverโ In a moment, he puffed his chest out and walked over to the girl as she was crouched over by the river. Sure she was singing a creepy song by a bloodstained river, but thatโs what all kids are like. Right? โExcuse meโ Theo stated, trying to push every red flag to the side โYou seem a bit lost, are you okay?โ

Chiaraโs bracelet, which had beads of rainbow fluorite and a pendant resembling Gjallarhorn, had begun to glow a shimmering white-gold.
Suddenly she was falling, falling into nothingness. Which she had to say was something that seemed to happen to her a lot lately and she didnโt particularly care for it. Just for the record.
When she landed (pretty hard, by the way), on the ground, she found herself in what seemed to be a dark and dusty abandoned factory.
Worst of all, though, was that as she moved to rise to her feet she found herself face-to-face, quite literally, with what seemed to be a skull, causing her to recoil in a mixture of shock, fear and disgust, letting out a gasp. She wasnโt afraid of skulls per se, but nobody wanted one right in their face.
As she oriented herself and her eyes got more used to the dim light, she realised that Luka had landed nearby.
โThis is some bullshit,โ she muttered to herself, her chest still rising and falling rapidly as she looked at the scene around them.
And the giant wolf? Yeah that was a whole new level of bullshittery.
A giant wolf on a pile of literal bones. A wolf that could talk, and apparently could smell Loki and Heimdallr on Luka and Chiara respectively. At the mention of Loki, Chiara shot a look at Luka.
โThis oversized dog is related to your guide?โ Chiara asked
That was when realisation dawned in her eyes. She knew exactly what this creature was, sheโd read enough books about Norse mythology to know this. The fear and realisation was soon joined by Heimdallrโs anger as she spoke in unison with her guide.
โFenrir.โ
Heimdallr was bristling with anger, Chiara could feel it. Like an itching beneath her skin, a heat.
โThe one who took Tรฝrโs hand, the one who will consume รรฐinn. The one whose escape will bring Ragnarรถk, the destruction from which I am sworn to protect Valhalla.โ Heimdallr spat
The one whose father Heimdallr was fated to kill.
โOkay, any chance thereโs a plan?โ Chiara murmured to Luka
Probably not, but honestly she didnโt think a plan was likely to help them much. That was 13-goddamn-feet of wolf right there.

Luka Ravana
Luka had went to rest after kicking Kaz off the couch and bothering the others for some time. However, she eventually woke up enough, bothered by something, not able to place it. When she left her room, she spotted Chiara, but then Chiara was...gone?
Her own umbrella, which was attached to a belt, started glowing itself. And within moments, the green blue sent her fading and falling.
She smacked roughly into the ground, a groan escaping her as the wind was knocked out of her. It was a rather uncomfortable landing.
One look up confirmed the scene was creepier, bones? "Are we on the set of Sharknado Five or something?" She questioned, pulling herself to a sitting position, before a shiver went down her spine, causing her to freeze.
A voice, one that sent her crawling back slightly, especially when the red eyes appeared, and the large wolf identified her.
She didn't need Chiara to say it, especially as Loki commented about, "Luka, meet my son, Fenrir. Fenrir meet my Champuon." Even though he knew he wouldn't be heard by anyone but her.
Did the excuse her language, did that flucking wolf just refer to them as snacks?
Chiara asked about a plan, and without even making eye contact, Luka slowly picked up a bone, and threw it at Fenrir, "Fetch?" Was all she said, before looking back at Chiara, and shrugging.
Shut up, it's worth a try.

Laurie had been wearing a ring with a ram on it, which glowed a deep wine colour. Before he knew it the young male was falling, which reminded him of the night Dionysus had chosen him. And also a little bit of being drunk, since he had been when that happened. Unsurprisingly, he and Dionysus hadnโt talked about the whole Dionysus holding his hair back while he was puking that one time situation.
When Laurie landed, he found himself surrounded by Eydan, Daniel and Echo. Okay, so he wasnโt in his own, which was a good start. He might not have any idea what was happening but at least he wasnโt alone in whatever it was.
That was when his eyes moved to a young man who started speaking, a man who seemed to know everything about the Ascendants and the gods. What the hell was going on?
โExcusez-moi, if we say weโre not worth your time, could we just go home?โ Laurie questioned
While he was speaking though, he was carefully and gradually moving to stand closer to Echo. He was aware that of this little group, Eydan was the oldest with Laurie coming a close second. He couldnโt help but feel like he should be doing whatever he could to make sure Echo was safe; this guy seemed threatening.
โAlso, you should know that itโs rude to arrange to fight people without letting them know first. One of us couldโve been naked or something, you donโt know.โ
Honestly, at this point he was really just stalling because none of the group really seemed prepared for a fight right at that second. Maybe he could at least stall long enough to give them time to get their bearings.
โAlright kid, this is it. Your first chance to use your powers. Just focus, and youโll know what to do,โ Dionysus explained, his voice echoing in Laurieโs ear

Daniel let out a sigh of relief as he realized Cleo was going to let the whole thing go. It seemed like him playing the idiot had actually paid off for once. He couldn't let her figure out that he was scared of her. He continued picking up the pieces of glass so that Cleo didn't get pissed at him before he threw the shards away. Afterwards, he went back to sit on the couch and tried his best to stay away from Cleo without her getting too suspicious. __________________
Around the time everyone else was getting sent out of the Pantheon, Daniel had just finished eating breakfast and was relaxing on the couch still. He was drifting off to sleep when suddenly a bright yellow light appeared. He opened his eyes and noticed the ankh ring on his finger was glowing before he was hit by the same feeling he had felt when Sobek had tossed him into a portal. When he dropped onto the ground finally, he fell flat on his face which helped wake him up if the sudden teleportation hadn't already. He let out a groan as he slowly got up and rubbed his nose before looking around at where he had landed. "Sobek, where the hell did you take me this time?" He muttered to himself. He noticed that Echo, Eydan, and Laurie were in the same place as him which did make him wonder where all the others were. As Daniel looked around, a scowl formed on his face. This didn't look good already, if the man sitting on a pile of sand in the middle of a city didn't tip that off. Daniel's instincts were screaming at him to run but he stood there with the other Ascendants. He wasn't and didn't want to look like a coward after all.
Suddenly a growl echoed through Daniel's mind, it seemed like Sobek had decided to finally talk again. "Why the hell does it have to be him of all people?" The crocodile god said
Daniel didn't like the sound of that so he got into a fighting stance as he looked at Ripley "If you're so worried about us not being worth your time, then why even bother using the knife? Doesn't this kind of thing usually start with the villain underestimating the heroes?" He said

Echo Deirdre
Echo had just been walking, arms hugging herself, eyes locked on the ground, avoiding everything and everyone, and then suddenly, her necklace was glowing.
It was just like when she first came, that feeling of falling, except she landed roughly in the dust, rather close to an intimidating figure, whose shadow seemed looming and scary.
She yelped, backing up, looking up at the man, her eyes already watering from the irritating sand that seemed kicked up.
At her side, her hand clenched into a fist, sand in her fingers, as she crawled backwards. That is, before she finally sat up slightly, "Make him pay," Nephthys seethed in her ears, and almost on instinct, she glares, abruptly standing up, and throwing the sand at him, causing more sand to fill the air.
She then stared at her hand, gaping slightly at her own actions, before cowering back, eyes wide like a kicked dog. She didn't apologize, which was an improvement, and she only stared back at the others with her, looking like she was 2 seconds away from crapping bricks.

Lucien fixed his gaze on River as best he could, his own eyes narrowed against the gales.
โI havenโt a clue,โ He replied gruffly
Gwen let out a chuckle then, her smile becoming a smirk as she rose to her feet, standing on the same pier wall sheโd been sitting on moments before.
The winds grew stronger around her, whipping her hair even more fiercely as the churning waves grew larger, darkening even further to an almost oily black.
โYou really are slow to catch on. she taunted โperhaps I should make things more obvious for you.โ
โYouโre not helping either, Stormchaser.โ
Gwen seemed to ignore those words from Lucien, but the comment from River about the situation being stupid caused her eyes to darken, her expression becoming one of cold anger.
โStupid, hmm? Perhaps not enough of a challenge for you? I can change that.โ
It was with those words that Gwen began to transform, dropping from the pier wall towards the water.
By the time she hit the ocean, she had already completed her transformation. A transformation to become a 15 foot tall black creature, with hard skin and tentacles. Her monster form was equipped with two crab claws as well as a huge jaw with massive fangs. Red eyes glared out from a monstrous face at the two boys.
What the boy did notice, however, was that the circlet she had been wearing was gone. Instead, in the monsterโs chest there seemed to be one large stone of the same colour as the small ones decorating the circlet.
โOh, shit.โ Lucien groaned
He had a suspicion the healing powers Apollo had granted him might become very useful very soon.
โWe need a plan of attack.โ he muttered to River โBut I canโt think of any that wonโt get us killed.โ

Guinevere Sharpe || Lorenzo Alexander
Both Guinevere and Lorenzo had been in the Pantheon moments before. Lorenzo had been getting his son ritual...thing set up, and Guinevere had been trying to find Griffin, since she had already started to take a liking to him, him being funny, and kind, and not quite as chaotic or judgmental as most of the other Ascendants.
Guinevere had landed standing up, poised as could be, while Lorenzo toppled and floundered, letting off a cry as he spotted some rock rising suddenly before them.
A girl, smaller than literally anything Guinevere had ever seen was standing on the rocks, and she couldn't help but scoff at her. Worms? That wasn't even creative.
"Kid, at that height, you falling down could break your neck." She commented, watching as Enzo got his footing, walking happily towards her.
"Hello! I like your rock!" He commented, petting the large mound of earth under Penny, grinning up at her, "If you want, I could help you find your parents, or you could just hang out with us if you want to! Did you lose your worms? I don't think worms bow, but I can help you find them!"
While he excitedly chattered, Guinevere simply facepalmed.

Seely Kaase Champion of Sekhmet
The earrings Seely had been given shone a deep wine color, and then she felt a drop. The floor beneath her disappearing and her vision going wild. Blurry hues of colors swirled and she felt that similar sensation of falling and reeling, like on a rollercoaster as it comes over that first hill and plummets. That feeling. Seely hated that. Her stomach flew to her throat and a second later she landed hard on the ground. She rolled a bit and then pulled herself to her knees. Her eyes remained shut for a couple moments, cringing in pain and trying to catch her breath. She heard three familiar voices then. Griffin, Lane, and....Theo? Really? Opening her eyes, she was confirmed and those three were there with her in....this place. A derelict town with eerie mist. A heavy shiver ran up Seely's spine before she had even seen the girl. That's when the sing-song rhyme reached her ears, sending another round of shivers over Seely's body. Slowly, she rose, wincing a little at the pain again. "Guys...." she managed to Griffin and Theo who seemed all too ready to help this girl. Usually, Seely was always willing to help. Ready at a moment's notice to lend a hand and be there for those in need. But this time seemed so so wrong. All the warning signs were flashing to Seely. Sudden transportation. Eerie atmosphere. A stranger waiting for them. Separated from the larger group. None of this sat well. "Guys...please stay close, I-I don't like this." Her eyes never left that girl though. Even as she spoke to Theo and Griffin, trying to keep them from getting too close to her, she kept her eyes on that small girl. Something just wasn't right. Finally Sekhmet chimed in too. "My cub, stay wary." the simple phrase had a growl to it. Biting her lip, this all felt too familiar to Seely, though she knew these types of situations in the alleys and dark streets in Munich, not so much an abandoned town with others around her. Though the setting was different, she knew a trap she saw one, and this was screaming trap.

Eydan Ganim Champion of Horus
Eydan had been settled in his bed, still waking up after hearing the loud noises downstairs. Sure he'd been tempted to go and check it all out but also, he was exhausted. Yawning widely he threw his legs over the side of the bed. Though his eyes moved down to the ring on his right middle finger, the Eye of Horus engraved into the gold band. It was glowing a deep golden hue. Arching his brow, Eydan rose to his feet. But instead of standing, he dropped. Where he'd expected soon to hit floor, he kept falling and falling. Clenching his jaw he prepared to land, recognizing this drop this time, unlike the last. Thankfully, he landed on his hands and knees a bit more prepared, having had time to brace himself. Letting out a heavy sigh and opening his eyes immediate confusion crossed his features. "Sand?" he muttered to himself before standing. Looking around he saw he was at least with Laurie, Daniel and Echo. Though where the hell were they even. A voice spoke and his gaze moved over to meet this new kid. How did he happen to already know so much about them? That just didn't seem fair. But, this kid seemed dangerous. Eydan immediately moved to stand a bit ahead of everyone, noting that Laurie had already moved a bit to protect Echo. "Like they said man, doesn't really seem fair that you yanked us here without warning and want to start a fight." He echoed simply, "Plus, trying to threaten us when we don't even know you? You may have gotten the entirely wrong people here." Eydan actually winced then, "WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS TO BRING US HERE?!" Horus roared in anger. "Cheating, murderous, treacherous, conniving, thief with no title and no honor to his name, dares to face me again?!" Eydan clenched his jaw and tuned Horus out for a minute, "Let me tell you guy, we're not worth your time but, if you think you're going to try and get at us. We won't make it easy." That brave, protective streak in Eydan coming to light finally.

Sanna Dubois Champion of Hephaestus
Sanna had been sitting in her room, she'd appeared briefly for breakfast and snagged a couple items before returning to her room to get dressed. She'd settled in front of the iron hearth in her room and had found a book on metal-working that Hephaestus hadn't shut up about since she'd stepped foot into the room. Going on and on about how important it would be if she wanted to learn about her "powers". Sanna had finally given in after a week of the incescent reminders. Truthfully, it was a rather easy read. In depth on metal types and mixtures of metals and how they reacted in forges and when worked. Simple and mind-numbing. After finishing her meal, she'd taken to playing with the copper-colored lighter she'd been gifted. Flicking the flames on and off. Though while reading, the corner of her eyes began to glow. An ember-red color emitted from the lighter and the chair beneath Sanna disappeared. She fell and fell and fell. Landing hard on her butt and cringing heavily at the pain. "What the hell Hephaestus?" She muttered bitterly, opening her eyes and rubbing her lower back. That's when she heard and unfamiliar voice, then Naida followed quickly by Irene's loud complaints. Glancing around the group, her eyes moved quickly, taking each in. "That wasn't me. Quickly rise and be careful, this boy is no good. Focus yourself and be ready, stand strong." Hephaestus warned heavily. She could feel the uneasy way the god shifted in the back of her mind. The way the boy looked at them sent Sanna on edge, she pulled herself to her feet and lifted her chin defiantly towards him, "Not the best introduction for yourself. Yanking three girls from their house and into a forest all alone." she addressed him with annoyance, "Really not giving yourself any points here." the sarcasm slipping through each word as her eyes moved from the staff to the vines near his feet, then back to his gaze.

Kaz McDermont Champion of Hecate
Why did he always have to go somewhere he didn't want to when he'd meant to be somewhere else? This whole door stuff was getting annoying to Kaz. One moment he'd been eating his breakfast, finishing up his second plate of scrambled eggs and a couple slices of bacon, and now he was chest down, palms pressed into the dirt. "Hecate c'mon. I was eating that time." he muttered disappointedly as he pulled himself up to his knees. "Hush child, that wasn't me. Get to your feet and address this." Hecate scolded in his head. Kaz mocked her quietly, "It wasn't me" he repeated before understanding what she meant. Lorenzo and Guinevere stood around him and he looked up to the tiny girl atop a rock tower. "Worms? Did she call us worms or did she mean something else?" Kaz questioned to his companions. A small laughed escaped his lips as Lorenzo commented about worms and her rock tower. Kaz looked up to the small girl then, shielding his eyes from the light, "Yeah, what she said, you'll hurt yourself from all the way up there. And I mean you don't look like you could stand to take a big fall like that. Your whole body would shatter!" Another scolding from Hecate then, "Child, she is dangerous, learn to read the room." she urged. Kaz rolled his eyes and sighed heavily, "Anyway, you wouldn't happen to know how we got here, where the others are, or how to get back yeah? I was sort of eating breakfast just now and I'd like to finish it." truly, he had no idea what was about to hit him.

STYX
The little girl simply looked back at them again, her silver eyes, almost a white color, flickered to Theodore, chuckling softly at his question, a cold, dark laughter, like some hidden joke had passed.
Then this other boy, the tallest of the group, had come asking her so sweetly if she was fine, offering his hand. She smiled, it started sweet, a gentle pull up on her lips, though it turned cold quickly as she extended her own hand, stopping just short of his.
Her paused movements were caused by this girl, the one bidding the boys to remain close. Her emotionless eyes flickered to the girl, pale skin contrasting deeply with the blood, and the crimson bandanna around her neck tied in a neat way. On her head was a ribbon, like horns, though some parts in the back seemed torn.
"That's quite presumptuous, my dear," she cooed softly, before glancing back at Griffin, extending her hand once more. Her voice becoming melodious once more, soft, and yet chilling.
"We'll never get free Lamb to the slaughter What you gon' do When there's blood in the water? The price of your greed Is your son and your daughter What you gon' do When there's blood in the water?"
As she sang, she kept her hand extended, pausing the song for a moment to in turn grin a sharper way, "Look me in my eyes-" She commanded, eyes becoming scarlet, her method of manipulation. All the while, she finally took Griffin's hand, grin turned up, almost in an unnatural way.

Lane, like Seely, did not trust this girl whatsoever. She held back while Theo and Griffin approached.
โGuys, what part of creepy singing girl with blood bubbling from her mouth suggests โjust a girlโ to you?โ Lane questioned in exasperation
Not that the boys would listen, she knew that much already. The two of them were too determined to see the best in this person.
Maybe Lane was just being stupid. Sure, kids singing nursery rhymes was creepy, and she hated it in horror movies, but this was not a horror movie. This was real life. Maybe she really was just a girl who was hurt.
It wasnโt like anything else happening in her life right now was normal so honestly, who was to say?
โDo not trust this girl, Lane. Stay away from herโ Hermes warned โIโm not in the mood to choose a new championโ
Lane didnโt need Hermes to tell her twice. Something about this girl screamed danger to her, but worse, there was something oddly familiar about her that she couldnโt place. She had never seen this girl before in her life but she has a strange feeling that they shared something. Like they were both in on a secret. She didnโt trust that whatsoever.
Come on, what kid called people โmy dearโ anyway?
But she didnโt have time to warn the boys, who continued approaching the girl. When she changed her song and moved to take Griffinโs hand, her eyes turning scarlet, Lane was flooded with fear. Her blood ran cold as she reached forward as if to stop Griffin despite the distance between them.
โGriffin, donโt-!โ
But it was too late.

The woman looked down at them from her perch, growing angrier by the second. Who did these people think they were treating her like she was a child. Did they have any idea who she was?! Her general pompous and angry look shifted to one of pure fury.
โIโm not a kid you f*cking troglodytesโ She snapped, her eyes wide with fury before looking directly down at Lorenzo โAnd get away from my rock you dumb*ss!โ She couldnโt tell if he was just messing with her or he was genuinely that stupid. Either way, she didnโt like his attitude. Nor the attitude of the other guy, Kaz, who seemed more concerned about his breakfast than the situation in front of him.
She lifted one of her feet up into the air before forcing it back down into the rock she was standing on. The deafening sound of earth and concrete being shifted could be heard as she pounded the rock back down. In succession, the stand being forced back down into the ground caused a rippling effect in the earth they were standing on. The ground was unstable underfoot for a few moments before it stopped. Penny was down at her usual height, looking up at the three of them in disgust.
She glanced at Lorenzo before turning back to the other two with a devious look in her eyes. โWhoโs getting broken?โ she said in an eerily playful tone. In mere moments, a rock fist formed from the ground behind her and was sent hurtling into the young man. In the meantime, her expression seemed to be shifting between seething rage and histaric amusement.
โMy safety isnโt what you should be concerned about, you worms! Nor the safety of the other so called โChampionsโโ She spat out, โyou better f*cking understand who is in control here, since you arenโt leaving here alive!โ After she said that, the ground underneath the Ascendants started to shake. Large cracks started to form underfoot and bits of earth crumbled down into the ground many feet below.
โGood luck not dyingโ She sneered with her best Guinevere impression โFalling from this height could break your neckโ

Theo let Griffin do his thing, pushing down the uneasiness he felt since he was probably just overthinking it. โHelp is a strong word, Griff,โ he remarked, shaking his head โIโm not sure how much we can do, since all of this was so unexpected. But, we can try at least.โ He mostly ignored what Seely was saying, jocking it up to her just being scared in general. Sure, the girl was singing an inappropriate song for this situation, but whatโs the worst that could happen? Horror movies arenโt real. โShe has a bow dude,โ Theo replied โmaybe she has a condition, I donโt know. If you donโt want to stick around, then just leave.โ

In response to Ripleyโs threat towards Echo, Laurie stepped closer to the girl, glaring at Ripley as he did so.
โOne more move and you wonโt like what happens next, connard,โ Laurie warned
Truth be told, he didnโt even know what was going to happen next, given he hadnโt the faintest idea what his powers were. But he could only hope that his bluff might be enough to protect Echo.
He looked Ripley up and down for a moment, smirking.
โYouโre upset that we didnโt ask you what was going on, so clearly you have a monologue prepared. Why donโt we get it over with then - who are you, and what the hell do you want?โ
Honestly at this point he just wanted to distract Ripley to protect Echo. And preferably to give the group time to come up with some sort of plan as to how they were going to deal with this dude. Laurie had no weapon with him, no nothing. And he didnโt even know what his powers were.
He would figure it out, he knew. He had to, otherwise he suspected heโd be useless in this fight. But what kind of powers had Dionysus given him? Would they be remotely useful?
โNice to know you trust me,โ Dionysus muttered sarcastically
Well, honestly... who could blame him?

Chiara honestly didnโt oppose Lukaโs attempt to distract the wolf with โfetchโ - it wasnโt the smartest, for sure, but Chiara didnโt exactly have any better ideas at this point.
Unfortunately, and perhaps not surprisingly, it didnโt work. Chiara watched as the wolf shattered the bone. Okay, great. Right. This thing was gigantic and could kill them very easily if they werenโt careful. In fact, probably even if they were careful.
And then Fenrir started to run at them.
โShit,โ she muttered
She met Lukaโs gaze for a moment, but all Chiara could do was dart to one side of the great wolf. If any luck Luka would go to the other and the two of them could do a kind of pincer-movement. Perhaps they could take turns distracting it. Anything to stop Fenrir from killing them.
The blonde found herself reaching for one of the bones on the floor. She didnโt have any weapons at this point so that was the best she could do.
She didnโt have much alternative and so she ran for the wolf, whacking Fenrirโs leg as hard as she could with it.
She knew it wouldnโt do much to hurt him, but at least it might be enough to distract him so Luka could do something, maybe with her umbrella or her powers. Perhaps she could turn into a snake and climb onto Fenrir? Either way, Luka had a chance to make a move.
โHey!โ she yelled to Fenrir โOver here, Fluffy.โ
Once she had Fenrirโs attention, she got ready to run. She felt like sheโd need to
