Locin returned with two Aerem rabbits. He traveled all around as an elven soldier, so he thought of the Rabbitfolk when he killed the flying colorful rabbits. "Anyone want any? Their meat is amazing," Locin said. "I can roast them on the fire as well. There's enough for four people, so which other three want it?" He asked.
Keelo jumped down from the trees he was in. "Well I'm stuffed." He declared somehow saying it without any sarcasm.

Luciel glanced at Garren. How many times would he need reminding of her name? She let out a sigh, letting it go for now before answering the paladin. "I would say I am average at best," she replied. She pulled a small collection of eating utensils from her bag all kept in a small box. "I don't have anything large enough for a stew, I'm afraid."

"We can put them in the stew!" Garren grinned, bringing up a pot and rigging it so it sat mostly over the fire. "You can get to skinning it, if that's no trouble, and I'll get started on the rest." He poured a portion of his water flask in the pot and started to add various ration things

"Paladin and a knight, yes ma'am." His voice was full of pride and his eyes shined bright with honor. Garren had enlisted (is that the right word?) as a knight in Waterdeep not long after making a pledge to be a paladin.

((Quiet a bit happened when I had disappeared earlier whoops haha.))
Kira had stepped away from the group and watched them all. She had offered one or two of her rations when they needed them but otherwise she kept watch around the campsite. Still not fully trusting the two newcomers or that the shadows had disappeared. "I can take a watch with you Luca." She offered.

Luca shot Kira a grin "Very well! I'm happy with that. We'll make an unstoppable team! If we can stay awake that is. But i'm sure we'll find something to talk about." he had seated himself beside the fire and watched as they prepared the food. He'd never once prepared a meal and figured they wouldn't want him helping. Normally he'd just eat quick and easy meals, or would buy something from at a bar. Needless to say, Luca did not have all the basic skills of an adventurer.
"While the food is cooking-" he pulled out the letter they had been given "We should make sure everyone has read this letter and understands our goals." since they had a few late joiners and all.

Elyel suddenly shot awake, sitting upright, blinking slowly and lethargily. "Food?" She rasped, even her voice sounding like it had been singed a bit during the overwhelming light that had engulfed everything. She cleared her throat and tried to talk again. "So food, letter reading, and more sleep?" She tipped her head to the side.

Locin looked at Keelo. "Go grave some fruit for us, I provided the meat."
"But I already ate!" Keelo complained. He quickly ran up the tree for fruit though. There was a jagged stub he banged his toe against. He did a primate screech. Considering how fast he was bolting up the tree. Shit! He thought. His toes developed a cut. As he was mending his toe, he hung onto a branch using only his tail, he needed both hands and his other foot to help. He found a bushel of Blood berries and gagged. Just thinking of them made him want to throw up. He was climbing on a blood berry tree. Blood berries mastered the taste of actual flesh and blood. He quickly jumped to the next tree and thought, where there's a blood berry tree, there's death. The trees feasted on corpses, which is what gives the blood berries it's flavor. He grabbed a bushel of juicy fruit with his other foot. He then slowly swung down with his tail. As he was about to reach the ground he threw the bushel up and his tail snatched it. "Got your fruit." Keelo said, hiding the bandage of leaves over his toe where his wound had been.

Garren thought for a moment. "I think I always knew. I didn't have to much growing up, no parents or family to speak of. Got raised by some nice old folks who owned a little farm and they raised me as their own, but for a while I was wild on the streets. I guess I wanted to fight for a world where no child raised himself, his parents could do it for him." He replied, somewhat quieter than before.

Luciel sat back and listened to the conversation, looking to each member as they spoke. She watched Garren for a moment before speaking. "That is very noble of you," she said softly before getting up. She stepped over to Kossette. "Is there anything I can help with?" she asked.

She told him, she glanced towards the food and sighed leaning back lowering her hood from her face and unbinding her blonde hair so it rests over her shoulders like a curtain. She nodded when Luca had said we should make sure everyone understands the letter. "I agree." |

"Ah-" Luca laughed lightly "They're not even paying attention." on any normal day he'd be almost insulted he wasn't being paid attention to. But for now he was just content to have them chat among themselves. Besides, it seemed like they were busy speaking of other things. He looked back to Kira and said "I guess we can talk tomorrow while we walk. It's not good for our skin to be stressed out all the time anyways." the talk of their quest would be a serious one after all.
He tilted his head and asked "I'm curious how you keep yourself looking so nice without beauty sleep. And four hours? That's not nearly enough! You'll get dark circles under your eyes if you're not careful."

He always wanted to get out and explore a larger portion of the world, and water travel seemed the most viable. “Absolutely breathtaking.” Kos answered with a gleeful grin, her expression brightening as soon as he asked about it. “You wouldn’t believe how beautiful the sky looks at night, I swear I have never seen the stars shine brighter than my nights out at sea.” Soon, her eyes grow sad and her grin is replaced with a sheepish smile. “Unfortunately, my ship was destroyed during a storm. Lightning struck me and the boat, I was the only one to survive.” There’s a moment of silence as her gaze turns steely. Soon enough, Kos shakes the thought from her head, giving the stew one last stir before sitting up. “Stew’s ready.” |

Garren blinked slowly, still registering what he had just heard. His heart when out to the sailor girl. It appeared like grave destruction and death spared no one...hopefully this situation would play differently

When handed a bowl of stew he took a sip of it and hummed appreciatively "Thanks to everyone who helped, it's a nice change of pace to have a warm meal on the road." it had been a group effort to even make it to this point. They'd already been jumped by monsters, joined by some new comers, and had to put together an unexpected meal. They were shaping up to be a good team! At least until a real danger faced them, then they'd see who was more solid. |

Garren happily filled a bowl with the fragrant meal, his mouth beginning to water as he realized he hadn't eaten as much as he should of today. There was too much excitement in the air for him to have even thought about consuming anything, and now that the excitement had faded he realized he was starving. He happily consumed the hot meal, ruefully thinking that it was most likely going to be one of the few hot meals they would be able to indulge in on the road.
Elyel, looking far less singed and definitely not smoking anymore, leaned against a tree as she consumed her meal, the flames of the cooking fire bouncing almost eerily across her mask, yet lit up her eyes with a playful glow. "I would say we are turning out to be a solid team." She said quietly, voicing Luca's thoughts.

Locin grabbed a bowl of steamy stew last. Making sure everyone got enough. He gobbled it done. He was so hungry. "Keelo you're missing out, aren't Apelings omnivore?" He asked.
"Yeah, but I already ate." He said and climbed up and tree to sit on a branch and watch the others eat.
(I love Locin so much, he's like a father for the group)

"What makes it your business?" Keelo glared at the half-elf. Then he shrugged. "I came from a tribe in a jungle from here. It's very dangerous there, but it's my home. It's where an Apeling should be. But when I found out I was the chosen one, I ran." He looked away.
