Not much to say about this. It's influenced slightly by Warriors and a few other things. Enjoy, I suppose~

Chapter 1
Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!
Daya lifted her head drowsily, perking her ears up, and immediately felt the fur on her back bristle in fear. The air inside her human nest stank of smoke and it was clouding above her head, pitch black in the night. Terror momentarily stunned her, but she was able to pull herself from the shock and leap from her cat bed, onto the ground. She coughed as she breathed smoke and shook her head. She needed to get out. She didn't see any fire inside her home, but her humans were gone, she knew that right away, as she always slept in their bedroom but they were gone, which would never normally happen this late at night. The tabby rushed around the house, panicking, trying to find a way to escape. The door was closed, and through the living room windows came an eerie orange light.
Daya poked her head through the curtains and let out a terrified shriek as she saw that a wildfire was tearing through the streets of her beloved neighborhood that she could barely see through the thick black smoke. Get out! Daya silently screamed to herself, and she began frantically looking around. She saw that another window was open and black smoke was pouring in, and she made for it quickly, taking a great leap to reach its height, and as soon as her back paws hit the windowsill, she pushed off, propelling her out the window and sprawling on the hot ground. She felt the heat of the roaring fire on her pelt as she pushed herself to her feet.
She looked around but could barely see anything around her through the smoke, and she suddenly thought of her friends. Other house cats who lived in her neighborhood. “Is anybody out there?” She cried, her voice being drowned out by the roaring of the blaze. Daya felt herself becoming weaker with every breath of smoke. She began to try making her way toward the hill that was near her home which rolled down into a lake with multiple islands. Her pawsteps got heavier and heaver, and she collapsed. The last thing she saw was the flames beginning to engulf her house.
“Daya? Daya? Say something, Daya!”
Daya opened her eyes slowly. Her throat stung and her pelt burned. She saw a white she-cat with long fur and amber eyes standing above her. “Thank goodness!” The she-cat sighed, “you’re okay.”
“Tria? What happened?” Daya asked hoarsely, each word feeling like claws raking at the inside of her throat. “Where are we?”
Tria looked at her paws and quietly responded, “As you know, there was a wildfire… It’s still burning. We’re on an island.” She twitched her tail toward the distance where smoke billowed and flames licked at the night sky. Their home. “I swam over here with you, and the others… Well… Most of them…”
Daya rose up to a sitting position and looked around at the other cats that she hadn’t previously noticed. They were all her friends who she had grown up with her whole life. Thomas, Hiker, Greenie, Jonis, Juliet, and Tria.
“Where’s… Where’s Faith?” Daya asked softly. Hiker hung his head, sadness clouding the brown tabby’s eyes. Faith was his daughter. “She’s no longer with us,” Hiker whispered, his gaze moving to the starry sky. Daya nodded slowly, understanding.
“What do we do now?” Juliet asked quietly. The young she-cat was trembling in fear.
“We leave.” Hiker growled, looking at the burning town and forest. “There’s nothing left for us here. Half of us are housecats, and our humans abandoned us. The other half are stays with no home now. We’re going to band together and we’re going to provide for ourselves. We’ve known each other for our whole lives, we’re already there. We need to find a new home.” A new confidence glowed in the muscular tom’s blue eyes, and the cats surrounded him nodded in agreement.
“Come morning, we will leave this island, and we will never look back!” Hiker roared, his fur bristling with emotion as his companions yowled their support.
“We’ll make our own life.”
