"I'm sure you could." Josie mused, then studied his expression as he thought. She seemed to get excited about the idea of meeting his family, one day, eventually. She was curious to know how her other siblings grew up, and what their home life was like. "Well I share a bunk with you don't I? I'm sure I can deal with some loud voices." Josie teased and nudged him with her elbow. Suddenly the conversation topic had shifted to herself and her relationship. The mention of Blaze caused her lightly freckled cheeks to flush. "Hm. Me and Blaze?" Her expression softened and she looked down at the rubber toes of her shoes, shifting her weight into her hip as she held her hands behind her back. "Good, things are going really good. I'm gonna see him later tonight." Lifting her head, a curious glint shone in her eyes. "What about you? A special someone caught your eye yet?"
- - - - Melody's eyes widened slightly, her cheeks turning pink at his compliment. She wasn't sure why, but it caught her a little off-guard. "Yeah? You say that but have you actually heard me play before? Maybe I suck but just like to play for fun." She looked over to him and gave a playful wink. The truth of the matter was that Melody was an excellent musician. It's what she truly excelled at, Melody was just alright at healing. There was no medical career in her future. She adjusted the strap of her bag to sit higher up on her shoulder and she glanced over at Lloyd again as they walked, taking a moment to really take in his appearance. He really did have a handsome profile, and it looked like he didn't have a single blemish on his face compared to some of the scar riddled campers. She wondered if he'd ever get a single scar on his body due to being his mother's son. It was one of those weird things that made her very much aware that they were all demigods. "Sounds kind of like magic if you ask me."
Juniper tucked herself against his side, laying her head on his shoulder as she popped a grape into her mouth. "Gross. Sounds like they weren't a huge pain though." She could tell his gaze was elsewhere and scanned the pavilion as well. She had been so engrossed with her and Tate's conversation that she didn't even realize how busy it was. After eating a couple more grapes and a carrot, Juniper slid her plate over to him, silently offering him some of her food. "My morning was fine. Basically a whole lot of nothing." There was a brief pause before she continued. "Tate thinks I should brush up on my sword technique before Capture the Flag." She snorted and then turned to face him more. "Ares is gonna be on our team right? Because it totally sucked that we competed against each other last time." “Ah, no one for me yet. Haven’t really stopped to look for anyone. And sure, we got lots of campers here that could definitely get me lookin’, but. Ya know.” Malcom admitted, chuckling a bit as he admitted his own lack of a partner. He was still young, still had time to toe those waters. He reminded her. “If Blaze ever messes with ya, just let me know. I’ll set him straight.” He promised, protective and honest. “Even if it sounded off-tune, I’d be appreciating the passion and the enjoyment it would give you just to play it.” Lloyd admitted, inwardly fond of the way people became their best selves when they did the things they loved. He smiled lightly, touching his own cheek with his fingers lightly before he laughed. “Well. I won’t complain about this magic then. Makes the skincare routine alot easier.” He joked, though it was true he did have his morning routines for his face and skin, even with Hebe’s abilities. He supposed it was just a pattern at this point, something he was familiar with doing. |

Jared blinked in surprise at her, smile widening,”You’ve been taking lessons? That’s awesome! Look at you, breaking out of your comfort zone. I’m proud of you,”he said with a gentle nudge, happy that Cat was branching out to more things. “Pegasi are great creatures,”he murmured,”definitely with personalities and intelligent. Is there a specific one you’ve been working with?”he asked curiously, knowing that some in the stables were quite spirited.

Feet bleeding from the broken glass and roaring in pain and anger, their foster father stumbled out of the house. His yells only grew louder as he watched his prized car tear out of the driveway. Several neighbors started poking their heads out and come out of their own houses, trying to figure out what the sudden commotion was about. Nova stumbled into the car as her brother and sister ushered her into it, her heart racing and pounding against her chest as the adrenaline rush from the escape made her whole body shake. “I… I can’t… believe we actually… did that.” She gasped, her breathing coming out in sharp gasps as she tried to curb the oncoming panic attack that seemed to be trying to surface. ————————— Kumiko giggled as Jacob led her away, feeling a light blush form on her cheeks when he took her hand, “So, food first or shopping? What do you think?” She asked, looking up at him with a bright smile. Echo glance back at her brother and Roxana with a humored glint in her eyes before she looked at Nat, “Something like that. Shard likes her quite a bit, but he seems to enjoy teasing her a bit too much.” She said, giving a small shake of her head at her brother’s antics. “If he’s not careful, he’ll ruin it before the relationship even starts.” Roxana jumped lightly when Shard suddenly threw his arm around her, looking up at him with wide eyes. “O-oh, o-okay.” She said, walking in the opposite direction of Kumiko and Jacob. “I… I think I r-remember hearing a-about one down th-this way.” She said, her stammer getting worse the more flustered that she got. Phoenix gave a satisfied nod at Kyo’s answer and followed after the others, her eyes landing on Roxana and Shard when he pointed them out. She gave a small shrug, “Who knows. Roxana’s been crushing on him forever now, but you know she’s too shy to actually do anything about it.” She said. |

Jared shook his head, walking along side her. “No, I don’t have any plans for the day. Why, do you want to do something?”he asked hopefully, untying from his hips the long sleeve tee he had taken off earlier to get into the water and pulling it back on. —————— (Lmao Lyra saying “grab shit and run”) Christian stood outside keeping guard as he waited for Quinn and Lyra. Kyo watched them for another moment, blinking owlishly at Roxana’s stammering words in response to Shard putting his arm on her shoulders. He hid his mouth again with his hand, trying not to give a little chime of laughter. He pretended to cough quietly instead. “Bad luck to gossip. Some old proverb, I can’t remember…” He gave an innocent little look. “I guess bad luck comes our way then. All we do is gossip.” He eyed the resteraunts as they passed a few, translating any of the familiar signs he saw often the few times he went into the city. He hummed. “Some shops are here one day, and gone the next. It’s because the resteraunts are fronts for other businesses. They pack up, and they go, gone in one night.” He tapped his chin. “Which is sad, because they just cook it perfectly. Close to perfect. Never as perfect as back home in… mm.” He trailed off, suddenly seeming a bit withdrawn as he looked away from the resteraunts. “This is home. Sorry.” He corrected, as though reminding himself sternly. He swiftly changed the subject. “Maybe we can find some old watches and clocks for parts?” (This one’s in response to Phoenix, I think it was my last city post) |

Josie had to suppress the urge to role her eyes, she knew Malcom was just being honest, and she did appreciate his protectiveness. It was very brotherly of him. She reached out with both of her hands and gave his shoulders a squeeze before pulling him into a hug. "I know you will, but I don't think we'll have to worry about that." After pulling away, Josie let out a sigh and checked the time on her wristwatch. "Alrighty, I gotta start getting ready. Have fun digging up carrots, if you come back insane I'll know why." She started to step away, giving a little finger wave. - - - - "You really find the bright side in everything, huh?" Melody asked, an amused glint in her eyes. "A glass half full kinda guy. That's nice." She gave him a little nudge with her elbow then walked up to the front door, holding it open for Lloyd. Once they were both inside she led him over to the infirmary. It was a rather spacious room with cots lining the walls, shelves full of medical supplies, and bandages galore. Melody went over to a CD player and put in a classical music CD, turning up the volume slightly. "Now we just kinda wait and see if anyone comes in needing some healing. Might have to take inventory of some stuff." She went over to a log book by the door and wrote down her name and the time she came in before going to sit down in a chair, pulling one up for Lloyd to sit as well. |

Rey had just jumped in the back seat next to Nova so make it faster. She panted softly. She looked behind them as the house and their foster dad got smaller. “Damn that was close.” She sighed, slumping into the seat. “Are you ok?” She turned her head to look at Nova.

“I’m starving.” Jacob said, turning his head to look at her. He smiled at her, finally they could be alone for a few minutes. He glanced at their hands, face suddenly turning red but he didn’t drop her hand. “Let’s find something to eat.”
Shard chuckled at Roxana’s flustering. It was so easy to make her nervous! “Cat got your tongue.” He winked at her before removing his arm. “Careful, people might start to think you like me blushing like that.” He nudged her teasingly as they walked.

Lewis swung lazily in his hammock that was tied between two trees just by the lake. He had an open book on his face, War and Peace was the title. Why he was reading was a mystery to anyone, even to himself. If anyone asked he would tell them it was a great bedtime story because it put him right to sleep. Which was exactly what he was doing now, dozing off and not caring about any responsibilities he had for the day. One of them being cleaning the horse stables, but who was really keeping track of all that? Lewis snored softly, his left twitching every now and again. - - - - Claude cursed under his breath as he scooped up some old hay and dumped it into a wheel barrel. He stood up and used the bottom of his shirt to wipe the sweat off of his face, looking around and glaring at nothing. Lewis was supposed to be helping him clean up the stables, but the Hypnos kid was shirking off his chores once again. Some kind of revenge was in order and it absolutely would be in the form of a prank. He was already starting to come up with ideas as he scooped some more hay up, planning to lay down fresh new bedding for the horses once he was done. here are some starters i posted a while back in case anyone was interested! i also have Frances open )) |

Quinn cursed softly at the realization someone was here. “Damn it!” She breathed. “Just grab what you can and we’ll duck out.” She said before picking up a few small pieces of jewelry that were laying out. Nothing fancy or special but it’s all she saw quickly. She stuffed the 2 pieces in her bag before moving to grab Lyra’s arm to drag her towards the exit.

He wanted to be that kind of person, someone who saw the world in a brighter light. He eyed the log book, enamored by the neat notes and logs he saw there. He sat down when she pulled the chair up, smiling. “Is that your handwriting? It’s lovely.” |

Nathaniel snagged a couple of the grapes off of Juniper's plate and started munching on them, "It never hurts to keep up on your sword training. You know that I'll always be willing to help you train." He said, turning his attention back to his girlfriend with a handsome smile. "And as it so happens, I made a deal with Echo just the other day so that the Ares and Aphrodite cabins will be on the same team for the game." Nathaniel continued. Of course, the son of Ares had other motives on joining up with the Aphrodite cabin besides just making sure that he would be on the same team as Juniper.

"She said that once I get better, I can probably find my own that will be a good match for me one day. I like Black Pearl though, she's really gentle and kind." She added.

We get to the city, we hop on the cheapest bus we see, the ones that won’t check ID. Then we go where it takes us. Sound good?” He recited the plan. If they were lucky, they’d catch a shabby bus to Boston or Pittsburg. |

As he slid down the pole, Blaze called out in the cabin, "main room lights on." Lights that lined the ceiling along with a fireplace along a side wall brought a glow to the cabin. Blaze slowed to a stop as he reached the floor and adjusted his hands on the swords. His head turned up when he noticed he wasn't alone. "HEY! What are you doing in here?!" The swords fell to the floor as his eyes searched Lyra and Quinn's face for answers. His eyes followed Quinn as she stuffed something into her bag, what he assumed was items laying around the cabin. Anger began to swell and the heat kicked up around him, Blaze's hands started to get an orangish-red glow to them as the fire sprung to life.

Nova took several deep breaths, finally managing to calm down a bit the further they got away from that horrible home and foster parents. She gave a nod at her sister's question, "Y-yeah... I think so." She said, looking up at her. "That was just... a lot all at once. I didn't think it would go that way at all." Nova looked out of the car window, watching as different houses flew by them as they sped away. "So what do we do now? He told her to call the cops on us, what if they find us and take me back to them? And you guys will get into much more trouble than I will! You aren't minors anymore, they'll charge you as adults and we just stole a car!" At the thought of being separated from her brother and sister, Nova felt her chest tighten again and her breathing started to speed up again as well. She couldn't bear the thought of being alone without Ryder and Rey, they were all that she had left!

Kumiko grinned and gave Jacob's hand a light squeeze, glad that he hadn't let go of it yet. "Sure! What sounds good? Looks like there's a few food trucks over there." She said, pointing towards a small cluster of trucks selling food nearby. The smell was enticing and it made Kumiko realize just how hungry she was. "What do you think? Tacos or burgers?"
"I-I guess..." Roxana mumbled, looking down at the ground in embarrassment. She kept walking though, wanting to find the nearest Antique shop and get lost in all the interesting stuff it had to offer. Roxana came to a stop in front of the shop she had been looking for and looked back at the others, "Um, h-here it is..." She said quietly, pulling open the door.
Echo glanced back at Phoenix and Kyo briefly and gave a light nod, following Roxana into the shop, "Yeah, I heard it. We'll talk more about it later when we get back to camp." She said, just as quietly. Echo glanced around the rather large Antique shop, surprised to see how much stuff was in it. "Well, this looks like a fun adventure all on its own." She commented.
"That's just how this city works I suppose." Phoenix said, looking at the signs before looking at Kyo. "You're here now, that's what's important. It might not be your homeland, but we're here with you too. Don't forget that." She continued lightly, hoping that he understood just how important he was to her and the others in the Hephaestus cabin.

Josie went over there.” She pointed. |

Rey listened to Ryder recite their plan again, nodding in agreement at his words. It was easy enough. The hardest part would be the trek into the city but even that wouldn’t be too bad. They just had to be careful. She looked back at Nova before pulling her sister into her side for a hug. “I know.” She sighed softly. “But what’s important is we got out.” She said. “No one is going back and no one is going to get caught.” Rey promised her. “Ryder and I have always had your back and we aren’t going anywhere. They won’t catch us.”

Jacob smiled when he felt her hand squeeze his. “How about tacos? We never get them at camp. At least not authentic ones.” He suggested before heading in the direction of that food truck. “I bet they are spicy also!” He grinned.
Shard’s smile dropped when Roxana seemed to withdraw a little bit. Maybe he had pushed a little too hard. He paused when they got to the shop, glancing in the window before following the others inside. Maybe they’d have some cool stuff in here.

Quinn turned her head when she heard someone yell. “Damn it.” She whispered again, seeing Blaze a few feet off, hands already starting to glow. “We were just leaving.” She said, reaching into her pouch on her belt. She had a few smoke pellets she could use to obscure them but needed Lyra to be ready. “Didn’t look like Josie was down here anyway.”

"If I ever need ya I'll look behind Demeter's cabin next time." Josie called out with a laugh, turning to walk away. She headed towards their cabin after that, hanging up her bow and arrows once she was inside. About twenty minutes later, after she had washed and cleaned herself up, Josie went to change into something a little nicer. A flowy, but casual summer dress that was a pale pink in color, with darker pink and white flowers all over. Josie checked herself out in the mirror, musing and playing with her hair before putting on some lip gloss. She was starting to fell less and less embarrassed every time she got dressed up, only because it was pretty funny to see Blaze's face whenever he saw her. Still, she wondered if this was how the Aphrodite kids got ready every day. Satisfied with how she looked, Josie left her cabin and made her way towards the Hephaestus kids' cabin. (i'll keep her out of the robbery but she's headed that way, just in case)
Melody sat with her legs crossed, leaning back in her chair and quietly humming along to the music as she listened to Lloyd. "I can tell. It's really admirable honestly, seems like you've got a good head on your shoulders, Lloyd." She grinned and reached out to poke his nose with her forefinger. In all honesty Melody was glad the infirmary was empty, as she was sure it was about to be packed this weekend. At the compliment to her handwriting, she focused on him and grinned, tilting her head. "And what about my eyes? Are they lovely too?" She asked, batting her eyelashes. It was pretty obvious she was teasing him. [@ Moonblazer]
Juniper couldn't help but chuckle when he made his own offer to help her train. Seemed like everybody had the idea that she needed to brush up on her skills. "Fine, fine. Maybe we could stop by the arena later? You'll have to go easy on me though, I'm rusty." She winked before letting out a light laugh. Juniper sat up a little more, finally picking up her sandwich and taking a small bite, leaning her elbows on the table. "Ugh, thank the gods. Looks like we'll be the winning team for the second week in a row. Well, the Aphrodite cabin for sure will be." She looked over at him and smirked, it was a teasing jab. With Nathaniel and Echo on the same time, she figured they would be guaranteed winners.

Blaze's eyes narrowed, but then he smirked as he had already talked to Josie earlier in the day. "Huh, really? But let me clarify this again... What are you doing here? The door was locked as I know none of my siblings are here right now." Blaze questioned. The fire around his hands started to glow a little even more.

“Rey’s right. Nothing’s going to separate us. Not ever. I’ll die before I ket that happen.” Ryder assured his little sister, keeping his voice as optimistic as possible. “I’ll cut our hair so we look different, we’ll put on clothes, use our wits, and go under the radar. I’ve already got an under the table job ready if we can get a bus to Boston. We’ll use the first part of our money for a few month’s rent, and after that, we’ll be just fine. You trust me, me and Rey, right?” He asked Nova.

Kyo looked at Phoenix with a hint of a conflicted emotion in his eyes. So much love, yet a hint of guilt that he couldn’t possibly hide. How could he possibly feel like he deserved his brothers and sisters here when he had…
The thought broke away before it could choke him, and he smiled quickly at her. “I know. I… I really appreciate it. Blaze's eyes narrowed, but then he smirked as he had already talked to Josie earlier in the day. "Huh, really? But let me clarify this again... What are you doing here? The door was locked as I know none of my siblings are here right now." Blaze questioned. The fire around his hands started to glow a little even more. Doing her best to stall for Christian if he heard her, she switched tactics to begin the retreat that Quinn was trying. She put on her best acting, eyes wide and pleading as she begged. “Okay, okay! Look, it’s embarrassing. But… but I like this girl in camp, and I just wanted to get her something nice. But I can’t make anything to save my life, I’ve got no creative talents like you all do. Quinn promised to help me. Look, you’ve got to cut a girl some slack, right? Wouldn’t you want to get Josie the prettiest necklace you can think of?” She implored, hoping it would work enough to retreat. |

"If I ever need ya I'll look behind Demeter's cabin next time." Josie called out with a laugh, turning to walk away. She headed towards their cabin after that, hanging up her bow and arrows once she was inside. About twenty minutes later, after she had washed and cleaned herself up, Josie went to change into something a little nicer. A flowy, but casual summer dress that was a pale pink in color, with darker pink and white flowers all over. Josie checked herself out in the mirror, musing and playing with her hair before putting on some lip gloss. She was starting to fell less and less embarrassed every time she got dressed up, only because it was pretty funny to see Blaze's face whenever he saw her. Still, she wondered if this was how the Aphrodite kids got ready every day. Satisfied with how she looked, Josie left her cabin and made her way towards the Hephaestus kids' cabin. (i'll keep her out of the robbery but she's headed that way, just in case)
Melody sat with her legs crossed, leaning back in her chair and quietly humming along to the music as she listened to Lloyd. "I can tell. It's really admirable honestly, seems like you've got a good head on your shoulders, Lloyd." She grinned and reached out to poke his nose with her forefinger. In all honesty Melody was glad the infirmary was empty, as she was sure it was about to be packed this weekend. At the compliment to her handwriting, she focused on him and grinned, tilting her head. "And what about my eyes? Are they lovely too?" She asked, batting her eyelashes. It was pretty obvious she was teasing him. [@ Moonblazer]
Juniper couldn't help but chuckle when he made his own offer to help her train. Seemed like everybody had the idea that she needed to brush up on her skills. "Fine, fine. Maybe we could stop by the arena later? You'll have to go easy on me though, I'm rusty." She winked before letting out a light laugh. Juniper sat up a little more, finally picking up her sandwich and taking a small bite, leaning her elbows on the table. "Ugh, thank the gods. Looks like we'll be the winning team for the second week in a row. Well, the Aphrodite cabin for sure will be." She looked over at him and smirked, it was a teasing jab. With Nathaniel and Echo on the same time, she figured they would be guaranteed winners. Lloyd blinked owlishly at the tap to his nose before his eyes softened with humor and he tipped his head. He looked thoughtfully at her for a long moment before he admitted. “Your eyes are beautiful. They’ve got a light to them. But that fits you, doesn’t it?” He chuckled, completely honest in his words and unafraid to compliment the truth. |

Nova leaned against Rey, her sister's comfort and Ryder's words helping to calm her down. But at the mention of cutting her hair, she sat up straight with wide eyes, "Cut my hair?! But why? It took me forever to grow it this long!" She said, hands clutching the ends of her long black hair possessively. One of their previous foster parents had decided that long hair was too difficult to take care of and had chopped Nova's precious hair all the way up to her neck. And ever since then, Nova had refused to let anyone cut her hair any further than a couple inches off to keep it neat and would throw one of the worst temper tantrums if anyone tried to go against her wishes. "I look horrible with short hair! I refuse to let it go any shorter! It's not happening! I would rather wear it under a hat before I would even let you anywhere near it with scissors!!" Nova said vehemently. She doesn't even like wearing hats, but if it meant not having to cut her hair, then she would get a whole wardrobe of hats to wear.

"Tacos sound good to me." Kumiko said with a grin, bounding after him as they got into line. "How spicy do you think they make them? It's been awhile since I've had something with a real good quick to it." She added, standing on her tip toes to try and see the menu around the people in front of them. She sighed, wishing that she had at least a couple more inches added on to her short stature.
Roxana looked up at Shard shyly, wishing that she was better at communicating and didn't stutter at almost every word. "U-um, d-do you want to l-look over there?" She asked, trying to step a little out of her comfort zone and pointing down a row of shelves filled to the brim with odds and ends.
"Looks good enough to me." Phoenix said, looking around slowly before looking at the others. "Kyo, let's go over this way. Why don't we split up and meet back here when it's time to go meet back up with Kumiko and Jacob?" She suggested, giving Kyo a signal by looking first at Roxana and Shard and then at Kyo again. It was clear what she was trying to say, that they should let Roxana and Shard go together while they went a separate way.
