Kyo attempted to humor, hoping it would cover up the growing pit in his stomach and the waver in his voice. He walked alongside Phoenix, looking at her for a moment before he asked. "You seemed a bit... frazzled, earlier. When you came back to the Cabin. Were you out speaking with someone earlier?" He asked, unaware of Phoenix's conversation with Levin, but able to catch when she was affected by something. |

James just nodded as Rosaline told them of their options, liking the first one better than the second. Honestly he was never one for luck, given that it was "luck of the draw" that he was born blind though he was sure his mother did that on purpose for the whole justice is blind thing. As they got closer to the the road he started to hear the occasional passing of cars and said, "Sounds like we are close, now where is the bus stop again?" “Farther down the road here. I can see it.” Rosaline promised, walking confidently as always down the side of the road. She gave a small smile as they approached the stop. “I have a good feeling that you and I are right on time for a bus.” She decided, feeling herself thrum and her ears ring before she exerted some of her luck. Like clockwork, the sound of an approaching bus got louder from the road. Right on time! |

Kyo’s eyes darkened a bit. “Pestering you in what way? Is he harassing you?” He asked seriously. |

“I wouldn’t say he’s harassing me. He just assumes that after that stunt he pulled when I found him that I wouldn’t hold a grudge.” Phoenix huffed in annoyance, shaking her head. “He keeps asking stupid questions about my abilities.”

He didn’t like the fact that Phoenix was really tense about it. He knew her, knew that she got along fine with almost everyone. This much of a strain, and Kyo couldn’t help but hold suspicion for Lenny. He himself was not too fond of sharing too much about his own Pyrokenesis. The thing that both destroyed him and made him safe at the same time. |

He was asking me if it was possible that I could be using magic.” She said, kicking a rock as they walked. “Ridiculous, right? Hephaestus doesn’t gift his children magic.”

Phoenix sighed and laced her hands behind her neck, “I don’t know. He was going on about how my ability seems different from yours or Blaze’s. He was asking me if it was possible that I could be using magic.” She said, kicking a rock as they walked. “Ridiculous, right? Hephaestus doesn’t gift his children magic.” Kyo’s eyes widened with surprise. “Magic? He thought you might know magic?” He stiffened, remembering how Salem’s magic had created the vines that had impaled his stomach. The pain had been unbearable, and the scars still ached at times. He crossed his arms around himself, murmuring something in mandarin, before he spoke english once more. “No magic I know of comes from our father. Just fire… is he implying you have magic from your mother’s side? Your powers did become… different, when you saved me…” |

Phoenix shook her head fiercely, “There’s no way it’s magic. It can’t be possible.” She said, not wanting to believe such a thing, “My mother left me at the hospital the day I was born. I don’t know anything about her, and I could care less about what happened to her too.” She added. Kyo listened to her sharp response with a pang in his chest. Even though neither of them had mothers, Kyo knew his own had loved him fiercely, before that night… Remembering her was painful, but he ached for Phoenix’s plight. To be abandoned by the one meant to love you the most, he could see why she would refuse to think too much about the possibility. Instead, Kyo considered other options. “Then it must just be our father’s fire. Yours just may come out differently. Blaze’s too. Mine, perhaps. Lenny must just be overzealous. Time may calm his… oddities?” |

You've been here before, right? Has he met you yet? I'm sure Evelyn's talked about you all the time to him." |

You wanted to come with me, and I wanted to say hi to the wonderful man who has a wonderful daughter who makes me wonderful food. Trust me, Evelyn’s a sweetheart. She would never get mad at you.” She assured kindly. |

With a smile he said, "That makes sense, thanks Rosaline I just really don't want to have my favorite big sister to be mad at me, I would be forced to eat only stale bread for like a month." Chuckling he then asked, "So have you ever been to Evelyn's place?" "Oh honey, nobody would let you eat only stale bread. I'll vouch for you." She teased, carefully selecting the cleanest seat on the bus and patting the seat next to her so James could hear where she was. "I've been twice so far. The first time, I went because Evelyn told me alll about it and I had to go try it. The second time, I went because it was his birthday, and Evelyn was sick that week. Poor thing wanted to see him so badly, so I promised to get her gift to him delivered. He was happy, but I could tell he was worried about her." Rosaline tapped her manicured nails against the metal frame of the window. "That's a real special thing, you know. The love you can have for your dad. My daddy's father away, I'd give all I got to see him right now." She admitted softly. "But I can't risk him getting hurt until I find a way to go back without monsters coming after me all the way in Georgia." |

However, when she mentioned her own father he frowned a little bit. With a slight growl he said, "I wish i had a father like you both, someone that actually cared about me."

Me, and Evelyn, we got lucky… but I know better than anyone that luck can be cruel, as much as it can be kind.” She shook her head lightly. “Whoever your father was, he missed out on you, and if he wasn’t willing to be your father, then he’s no good of a person anyway. And you deserve good people, James.” |

However, I can't help but feel that all my misfortune was to enact some sort of divine revenge on my father for some reason." How else could you explain why he was born without sight, and a father so willing to abandon his son. Sighing he then said, "Look I am sorry to be so gloomy, this is a tad bit of a sore subject for me. It doesn't help that mom doesn't ever try and interact with us."
