I have come to the general consensus that I will just read the Wikipedia page for this and then go away and write my own story. My interest in Arthur Dee - and by proxy John Dee - came from a vague memory of this series. Similarly, an interest in other characters as well. So what am I gonna do? //points at original story// Imma go write that. Generally the series is a good series, but why fight through a series when I could just write my own?

Found this book list xD... Out of the whole thing, I've probably only read Frankenstein and Merchant of Venice. Loved both, though I'd say my favourite Shakespeare play by far is Macbeth. I will suggest a list of books though.
1. Fearless by Tim Lott 2. Dark Heavens Series by Kylie Chan (A trilogy) 3. Tales of the Otori by Lian Hearn (A trilogy) 4. Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas (7 book series with a prequel. Read the prequel first since it sets everything up.)

Oooh! Thanks for the recs! I haven't read Macbeth yet. Though considering I'm an English major, I likely will soon.

I had to read Macbeth, Othello, Romeo and Juliet and Merchant of Venice for school. Out of all of them, I loved Macbeth, and hated Romeo and Juliet.

I was always curious abt the Nicholas Flamel books but back when i tried to read them i couldn't even get like two chapters in it just seemed so outdated lol. My best friend is a big fan of them though, she's been trying to get me to read them for years. Interesting to hear how they hold up technically. I don't always mind telling instead of showing, but like when it's noticeable and impacts the pacing it's agitating.
w my own reading I finally read the Strange the Dreamer duology and I completely loved it

I hear the Strange the Dreamer duology is good. It wasn't my style when I tried it, but I've seen fan art that I really like. Yeeeee. I was musing today that TSftINF would be better as a graphic novel then a book? It would make thing less ... difficult.

I thought it was a pretty interesting series. It was hard to read at times, but the concept of it was quite good. Though I do agree, a graphic novel or movie would suit it better.

aw i'm sad you didn't enjoy Strange :< the style is definitely not for everyone tho, it's kinda purple prosey but like it evokes such a classical fairy-tale/myth feeling for me lol i love it
also speaking of movies (and because i'm still in a book hangover over this series) I'd love to see a Strange movie feel like it would be so cinematic but like also very hard to adapt. namely bc apart from the bizarre visuals, one of the villains looks like a six-year-old child and idk how they'd find a child actor who could be that convincingly malicious and articulate.

Read a book called No Good Deed and loved it. Was a great Robin Hood retelling. It had time travel and I don't know ... it had some nice humor. The ending felt a bit abrupt, but generally it was fun! 10/10 would recommend.

Both of these sound ... quite interesting. XD
Read "The Awakening" and "Passing" for school. As well as several other short stories. I was already tortured with Bloodchild recently, so thus did not have to reread it.

Finished a couple more essays. I'll list them a bit later, but they were pretty interesting! Otherwise, today I worked on a presentation on Emily ****inson.

Somebody give me some animal lit recommendations. I have probably read it, as I have read a lot, but please shoot. Just nothing about furries because I don't care for that kind of stuff.

I’m a little over halfway through A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer. It’s a retelling of Beauty and the Beast but also totally its own story. The plot is kind of hard to explain but it’s really good and intense and fast paced, and it’s the first in a trilogy, so I’m excited to read the others.
