I Write Sins Not Tragedies - - - A girl and 7 sins walk into a bar. Granted, she’s 17 and has probably lost her mind.
With mom and dad gone, it get some lonely in the house. I mean, it’s supposed to be lonely. It’s not that lonely. Anyways, mom and dad are stuck down in Latin America, giving aid in humanitarian work after the hurricane that hit just last month. They won’t be home for months, it’s village after village, countless lives to save.
Like I said, it’s supposed to be lonely, a dark isolation. Not like it’s a punishment, they had said. I’m not really a rule breaker, or a rule follower. I’ve always been a loner, so I can’t blame them for thinking I’d be fine alone.
Actually, I know I would be fine alone. But the thing was?
I wasn’t alone.
I know it sounds insane! Wait. This is a book? I mean, it’s not like you can judge me. No one will likely ever read this. And now that’s I think about it, it was kind of stupid.
It’s just that Envy and Lust said I should write my thoughts down on parchment, they said it helped with everything going on. I mean, that’s my nicknames for them.
It’s so crazy, actually! The day after my parents left, I started hearing these voices. I thought maybe I was crazy, but by the second day, I spotted a girl with bright purple hair, sleeping about, though I didn’t see her after I ran out of the house. I didn’t do freak outs, so I just went for a walk. I did have issues sleeping, was a complete night owl. So there was no way that I had seen anything other than something my mind made up. By the third day, I spotted the seven of them, just chilling in the basement. I kind of didn’t really react much, I guess. It’s not like I hadn’t suspected something was amiss.
I had heard of missing case reports in this area, and from the small hints I saw, many of the kids that were there, not looking quite real or fake, seemed to fit the identity of those kids.
The catch? They were dead, I quickly found out, when I demanded why they were using my basement as a party lounge.
I don’t really know much about them yet. But they each have unique personalities, and since there were seven, I nicknamed them.
Sloth was constantly napping, her hair a bright purple color, she was lazy, and constantly asleep or being a complete savage towards the others. She kept to date on all memes, and at times, she’s would show me some of her favorite YouTube videos, that is, if I ever caught her aware, which was rare.
Lust was kind of like a sad kicked puppy. He’s not actually as flirty as Greed and Gluttony. He’s actually not flirty at all, which is kind of interesting because I’m really similar. But he’s constantly trying to get attention, like a dog, and would do anything to get it. It’s his starvation for attention that made me pick him, and I thought it fit pretty well. He and I tend to chat about lack of interest in people in attraction type manner, and I try to help him through whatever demons he must be facing.
Wrath was...kind of the ironic one in my opinion. At first glance, he’s one of the tiniest, shortest, and weakest looking among the spirits. Though, as soon as I asked him how old he was, he instantly was offended. He was a clear cut sinner of wrath. He’s always egging on fights, and always trying to get Envy to do his mischevious bidding on the others.
Greed and Gluttony were kind of similar, and kind of not at all similar all the same. They both were dressed almost as nice as Pride, with flirtatious sass bouncing off them in waves. Constantly bickering anytime I would give one a trinket. Sometimes I give one something, and not the other, just to see them go at each other’s throats. Gluttony is almost like a teenage dad, and greed is like...a magpie. He’s tried to steal from me a lot, but I always dodge before he gets the chance. Though, I’ve woken up missing some items, I always know who to blame.
Pride is Envy’s older sister, and the sibling rivalry is palpable. Pride carried herself with confidence and narcissism, always seeming self-assured. She’s the one that, along with Greed and Gluttony, is always trying to replace my wardrobe, egging me on to be more social and get my head out of my books and my diary, and giving me lessons on confidence.
Envy is one of the youngest in the group, and one of the tiniest. She’s a genius, though she doesn’t seem to acknowledge it much. She’s always bristling and getting jealous, and constantly comparing herself to the others. She’s always telling me to take out the competition, and she sometimes takes after Wrath with how she acts. Then some days, she just stares forlornly at other people, comparing herself to them. She’s not seeking attention like Lust, and instead seems to try and sabotage the competition.
It’s probably mean to nickname a bunch of dead teens after their biggest sins, but I can’t really help it. Each of them fits perfectly in some form or manner. And I don’t really have friends at all, and they are always trying to help. They have kind of become my friends, and even if they seem sinful and bitter, they all care for me, I can tell. So I do what I can to protect them.
That why, when I heard mom and dad would be gone for a while, and when I found some items that didn’t belong to me in the house, and even blood, I started looking into the missing cases.
If they would make me a better person, I could try to avenge their deaths, find and take out their murderers.
Except, I hadn’t really known what I was in for at all.
I’m not really sure what will happen now. If they find me. But all I can hope for is that I can help my friends like they’ve helped me. That I can avenge them, and help them overcome their sins and faults.
That is, if I make it out alive.

Sloth
A girl of around nineteen stood in front of an old house, preparing herself for a live appearance online. She'd dressed for the day; her hair, which was dyed various shades of blue and purple, had been tied up in a messy braided-ponytail style. She had dressed in a simple black crop top, high-waisted jeans and black boots and paired the outfit with an amethyst necklace and matching stud earrings.
Hana Lee did not know that she was going to die that day.
It had been a stupid decision, really, and in fact her (much more sensible) little brother Eugene had told her as much. But since when had her brother being right ever stopped Hana from making dumb choices? Never, that was when, and that wasn't about to change now.
Her YouTube channel had grown pretty popular over recent months; she made a variety of content, but the teenager's most popular videos were about conspiracy theories, true crime investigations, and the paranormal. Hana didn't really take any of that stuff seriously but her followers liked it and she was smart enough to realise that she needed to give her fans more of the content they wanted. She had never actually done any investigations on her own, and so to celebrate reaching a milestone in subscribers, Hana had decided to investigate on her own for the first time, and livestream the whole thing. It was pretty late, of course, because obviously these investigations just had to take place at night or they didn't count.
So she brushed some stray hairs out of her eyes, lifted up her phone, and fixed a smile on her face before pressing the button to start filming.
"Hey guys, it's probably Hana Lee!" she greeted with a grin "to celebrate this new subscriber milestone, I said I'd do an investigation of my own and bring you all along with me live - so if we see anything, you bitches can't say it's edited."
'Probably Hana Lee' was a running joke Hana and her subscribers had started using ages ago. She couldn't remember exactly when it started, she was pretty sure it was when she'd done an episode about aliens and so the next video she'd made a joke about it probably being her, unless she'd been abducted. It was cheesy, kind of cringy. But it was catchy and it rhymed, so that was the introduction to her videos now.
"Okay, so I decided to investigate this old house not too far from where I live. There's been so much weird shit happening here, guys. There have been rumours of some pretty sus cult stuff, and some people say it's haunted. So obviously I thought I'd go in there at night and see what's up."
She wasn't even really paying attention to the hundreds of comments scrolling at the bottom of the screen from her subscribers, there were far too many to stop and read them. Instead she just headed into the house.
The house instantly gave Hana a bad feeling from the moment she stepped inside. And not just because it was dark and dusty. It was eerily cold, and gave Hana an unsettled feeling she could not explain. Normally, most things didn't faze her. She was hard to scare and generally pretty apathetic. But something about this place freaked her out, and she'd barely crossed the threshold.
"Ghosts and cult people, I'll be joining you tonight!" Hana called out jokingly "Hope you're cool with that."
Brushing cobwebs out of her face, Hana made her way into a dark hallway, and deeper into the house. The feeling in her stomach only got worse, feeling like a cold and heavy weight. This place, haunted or not, did not have good vibes. Hana was starting to regret this whole thing, and was definitely wishing she'd just chosen to stay at home like Eugene had said.
That was when she saw a message flash at the bottom of her screen
'Did anyone else just see that weird shadow down the hallway?'
Another comment quickly followed.
'Yeah, it moved!'
In response, Hana turned her head to see nothing but the same dim light as that pervading rest of the house, without any darker areas to suggest any unusual shadows.
"Y'all are tripping in the chat," she smirked "there's nothing there. I'm gonna go up these stairs."
It didn't seem very eventful downstairs, mainly just dusty, so she thought going upstairs was the best idea. Besides, she also figured that the upstairs area might have slightly better vibes than the downstairs area. Or at the very least, it wouldn't be worse.
That was when she saw a comment from a user with the name Eugene Lee.
'Hana, I swear to God I'm gonna tell mom and dad you're out here being utter waste.'
Hana groaned.
"Eugene, go to bed. If you tell mom and dad, I'll kill you - and I've done enough true crime videos to know how to get away with it."
Satisfied, Hana headed up the staircase at the end of the hallway, trying to ignore how on edge she was. Every creak of the staircase made her tense up. She could only hope it wasn't getting across to her audience.
Unfortunately, it really wasn't much better upstairs. She'd only been up there about a minute when she heard a strange sound. Looking over her shoulder and seeing nothing, she returned her gaze to the screen.
"Did you guys get that? Did that sound like footsteps to you?"
Immediately, she started to receive comments confirming that her audience had heard it too, and that it did in fact sound like footsteps. It was at this point that Hana was really starting to want to go home. But she was here to investigate, and that was what she was going to do. Besides, wasn’t this the kind of stuff she loved talking about in her videos? Why should she let herself get nervous just because it seemed a little more real now?
But it was then that Hana caught a silhouette, a shape of a person. She caught it on camera very briefly, but not for long because it started moving towards her - and quite quickly.
She started to run, attempting to head for the front door of the house. Her heart was pounding, she felt like she was going to vomit, and she felt too scared to even think. All she knew was that she had to get out.
But it wasn't long before Hana's phone dropped to the floor somewhere on the staircase. It picked up Hana's scream as it echoed through the house, and for a minute or two there were the sounds of some struggle, as well as some crashing. The camera was able to catch rather clearly when Hana fell to the ground. Her face was visible, blood at the corner of her mouth and on her forehead. The same blood that was just visible staining the ground at the edge of the frame. There were tears in her eyes but she still seemed alive. She wouldn't be that way for long, though; the colour was draining from her face rather rapidly and her eyes were beginning to go glassy, the light starting to drain from them.
She murmured something unintelligible, and made a feeble attempt to reach for the camera.
The last thing that was visible was a shadowy hand reaching over to end the livestream.
(okay this isn’t anywhere near as good as I hoped but it’s there XD also here is my inspiration for Hana’s hairstyle just because I felt like it)

- - - - - Calypso Salvatore
Had someone told Calypso Salvatore that she would move from her old home in North Carolina, she would have believed you. Because no place was really home, and no friends could ever last. She would move from place to place with her parents, because of their humanitarian work. They had just moved to Strange Creek, West Virginia, which was just about as comforting as living in a haunted house.
Which, to be clear, she was sure the house was haunted. She had no idea what prompted her parents to buy a house where murders were speculated to occur. And not just a house.
It was an overly large mansion. Seapoint Manor overlooked the creeks and a large cliff. One step outside made Cal feel like she would die, even if the balcony kept her elevated.
The locks and security system was good, but the manor was older, almost like a castle. She couldn’t count how many times she got lost in the maze of the manor halls.
Though, at the current moment, she was sitting upstairs. Her parents had left a few days prior, that is, to provide aid in the issue of a hurricane that hit Latin America. But it wasn’t unusual. It wasn’t unexpected, and it wasn’t enough to really phase her.
Just great, however, that she just moved there, knew no one, was now probably deemed that rich spoiled brat, and was alone in an overly large home. The maids? The maids she expected? Only came on some occasions. They were supposed to check on her every few days. Her parents had money, but not enough to pay for a mansion and everything in the world. Just enough money for yachts and trips to poorer areas to flaunt about.
She had no idea how they were of any aid at all.
“Calypso! I know it sucks, baby, but it might be a bit longer.” Her mother continued over a phone call, and Calypso laid against the wall, back pressed firmly as she lazily held the phone. Nothing new, she expected it. She saw them on only precious weeks and days, and then they were gone again. She didn’t envy them, however.
“How much longer?” She snapped, getting to the point, her dark eyes narrowed at the phone in spite, already annoyed. Her mother always skipped and dodged the question. Took forever to get to the point.
“Honey, you must understand!” Her mom’s annoying voice continued, whining slightly as it always did anytime someone asked her anything somewhat incriminating.
“How. Long.” It wasn’t even a question, just two annoying words as she resisted the urge to slam her head in the wall behind her.
“It’ll be a month,” came her father’s annoyed reply, she practically imagined him glaring at her mom as he snatched the phone, “Maybe longer.”
“Nice.” Cal replied, crossing her arms, rolling them, “Anything new? Or was that it?” Who could blame her. She heard it all before, one more month, one more trip. Another lie, and she might implode. “Or is this another thing where you guys pretend to do work, but decide to go on a vacation throughout a country?”
“We would never-“ her mother began, shrill and defensive.
“We have to go, Calypso. I expect good grades, you’ll have someone out to check on you 3 days from now, and then they’ll check in weekly. Don’t leave the house unless it’s for school, and don’t get in trouble.” again felt like it should have been tacked out. Before she could ever try to reply, the feed cut out, leaving her glaring at the phone as she threw it across her room, where it landed on her grandiose bed.
She hated this place. It was nicer than her other homes she had before, but was big, drab, and reminded herself of an ever encompassing loneliness.
With her parents constantly gone, her reputation being that of a rich brat, and never having the hope of keeping friends with her, there was no purpose in getting close to anyone.
“This is the worst!”
Little did she know.

Eddie Alderidge was dead, and it sucked.
His life had been pretty wonderful; his family came from old money, and were of course absolutely filthy rich. Not only that, but his parents had been rather business-savvy and had invested all their money rather well. And with Eddie being an only child, his parents had spoilt him a little.
All of this had amounted to Eddie being a teenage millionaire in life. Until he squandered all of his money and got cut off by his parents, that was.
He was one of the teenagers who had been murdered in Seapoint House, and was forever stuck at around the age of eighteen. Being dead kind of sucked, mainly because he couldn’t interact with the world as easily as he had before, and Eddie couldn’t online shop anymore, which was probably his biggest grievance.
But the strangest thing was watching other people come into the house. The newest additions? A teenage girl and her parents. Well, mainly just the teenage girl. Her parents had left, apparently on some trip, no sooner than they’d arrived.
In fact, Edmund had caught the sounds of the girl’s conversation on the phone with her parents. His curiosity having gotten the better of him, he headed into the girl’s room to catch the end of the conversation. He was sure he’d heard her parents call her Calypso? He wasn’t sure.
”This is the worst!” she’d exclaimed
It was at that point that Eddie appeared, leaning on the wall across the room from the girl.
”Ugh, it really is!” he agreed as if he’d been part of this conversation all along, “Parents, right?”
Honestly, he kind of related to parent issues. He’d never been super close to his, and that was probably part of the reason why he ran around partying and spending all his money.
In his usual dramatic fashion, he went to throw himself onto Calypso’s bed, only for another figure to appear.
A girl with distinctive purple and blue hair was lying on the bed, and had evidently shot her arm up when Eddie looked as if he were about to jump on her.
”Oh, you better not,” she warned “can a girl not get a nap around here? It was bad enough when she threw her phone at me.”
Eddie huffed, but turned his gaze back to Calypso
”You can call me Eddie,” he said “or Teddy if you prefer.”
”I call him Rich Asshole,” the girl on the bed murmured sleepily “not to be confused with the other rich asshole, because there are two of them. But that’s just me.”
”How can someone who gets so much sleep have such a bad attitude?” Eddie responded
But now he turned his attention back to Calypso once again.
”And this...” Eddie began, gesturing to the girl on the bed before realising she had already fallen asleep
How was she always able to fall asleep so easily? It was beyond Eddie, but in his years of knowing the girl he had always found that she was able to sleep anywhere and fall asleep pretty much instantly.
”Is Hana.”
Honestly, Eddie knew he had been kind of direct but to be fair the seven ghosts in that house tended to scare people away pretty easily, so the way he saw it he might as well go right in and say hi. If she was the type to freak out, she’d be freaked out no matter what.
“It’s okay, we don’t bite. Well... I don’t bite, and Hana can’t be bothered to bite. I can’t speak for the others.”

Eris had always been a smart, inquisitive girl. A genius, far surpassing those she knew. She skipped a few grades, and was only at the age of 15 in looks, though by her attitude, one may guess she was closer to a 50-year-old scientist in a lab. In actuality, she was perhaps the youngest in the group, though their ages were close together, and one of the shortest, if not the shortest, though her and Wrath might have even been tied.
In every aspect, she was looked down upon. In age, in height, even in her looks. Her hair was almost an auburn red, like the color of falling autumn leaves, and her eyes were a color of grey-green, sticking out vastly amongst her freckles. Though, in reality, they were nothing in comparison to Apricity Rosewood.
When Eris was alive, Apr, or simply just Priss, as Eris liked to refer to the popular brat, was a popular girl, one beloved by everyone, including their parents. It drove Eris mad with jealousy. Miss Priss was a gleaming bright star, one with charisma, and confidence that brought her everywhere. Eris was simply a shadow in comparison to her, one who was not good with social circumstances, and always tended to observe from afar.
Any attempts to get involved got her mocked. She wasn’t a flirt and stupid bitch like her older sister, therefore, in regards to the social scene, Eris didn’t really matter. Most people would be fine with that. But nothing that she ever did got recognized. In the world, if it wasn’t looks, you didn’t matter.
Everyone paid attention to the pretty, confident, brave girl. Everyone. And Eris wasn’t anything like her. She was brutally honest, a genius who always looked down on social scenarios like parties, and wasn’t very confident in most regards.
It stemmed mostly from their parents, who always took to Apricity. So when Felix - one of Eris’ few friends - went missing, Eris fell into that depression, that constant anger again. Overlooked, overshadowed, and had no one to console her. Apricity took a chance to be a hero, pointing out how she found this video of this girl, Hana Lee, and how she was presumed dead. Eris had seen the video, though she thought it was good acting and make-up, she reasonably assumed it was from a movie. Though, she didn’t really know.
It seemed really realistic. But still, Apricity took off with her friends, ended up dead.
Eris still remembered finding the bodies, how it chilled her, how she was overcome with grief and anger. Because of course Apricity had to outmatch her even in death, dying as some hero. Of course everyone was going to miss Apricity, and her greedy friends.
She glared at the human in the house, talking to her parents. Taking her parents time for advantage. At least her parents called her, and talked to her. And then Eddie and Hana were so openly talking to the girl, Calypso. Back to their bickering. She remained invisible, arms crossed, as she glared at them all. No smile came to her face for a moment, because of course everyone was going to get caught up in the human, and then they would forget her all over again.
She hadn’t even talked to Calypso yet, and she could already tell that she was likeable, to a degree. She seemed smart enough, pretty with her black hair, darkened skin, and black almond eyes. She barely even cast Hana a look, her envious nature keeping her quiet, contemplative on how to sabotage the attention away from the human, make herself likeable.
She didn’t want to be the center of attention, she just wanted some of it. To be as good as others, vindictive and accepted. And she had never felt it.
Still, she remained silent, arms crossed, before schooling her features into one of semi-annoyance, focusing on Eddie, “Well, Apricity is too busy ogling herself to put any effort into bitingly people,” she started, “Ezra would be too busy trying to make friends, and Felix actually would probably bite her,” she commented, finally appearing, although seeming to ignore Calypso’s very presence, “Why did you reveal yourself?” She then questioned, a small girl indeed, though her glare left no room for question.
Sometimes, she could be a bit scary.

As soon as Eris appeared, Eddie knew he was in trouble. She definitely wouldn’t be happy with him revealing himself so quickly to this girl.
And he was right.
She was glaring, and then she asked Eddie why he’d revealed himself, so the young man responded with a shrug.
“Because it’s been so boring and we finally have new people in the house,” he began, counting off the reasons on his fingers “because she’s going to be living here anyway so we were going to reveal ourselves eventually, and because she just said everything sucks. Maybe we can help things not suck. Besides, she’s our age! We can have a new friend our own age who isn’t dead.”
He knew it was probably brave of him to answer back to Eris like that, since it had a 50/50 chance of just pissing her off more. But honestly, he didn’t care at this point.
Having a non-dead friend seemed fun. Honestly, he loved the others but he’d talked to pretty much nobody else for years, except for the odd occasions there were new people in the house and even then it was to scare them away.
And to be honest, having a pulse seemed to be a good trait in a friend.
“For the record,” Hana clarified sleepily from the bed “I have no interest in making friends. I just didn’t want Eddie to jump on me. And y’all are being loud and I want to sleep.”
“Hana, you’ve been asleep for 18 hours, on and off,” Eddie commented with a raised eyebrow “you don’t need to sleep more.”
“Bitch, don’t tell me how to live my life,” Hana responded “If I wanna sleep, I will and I’ll do it better than you.”
Eddie just sighed defeatedly before turning his gaze back to Calypso
“Because she was rude and didn’t introduce herself, I guess I’ll do it for her.” he said “This is Nerissa, but we call her Eris.”

Eris barely took notice of the human, who was just looking between the three of them with a face that Eris wish she had a phone to record it with. Jaw slightly agape, though she wasn’t screaming, which was a considerable improvement from what the girl ad expected.
She seethed in annoyance, though her face remained mostly stony. Of course he would complain about being bored. Because the friends he already had weren’t good enough, so now he was going to replace them with this stupid human.
“Sure, we can have a new friend,” She’s commented, before her stony glare intensified, “News flash, Ed, I doubt some human would go for being friends with a bunch of dead kids.” She said it in that matter of fact tone, though of course it was bitter.
”I mean, I’d rather have some friends than none at all,” The human was speaking, finally out of her tiny silent stupor, eyes still comically wide, and a confused-as-hell look on her face.
Eris rolled her eyes, though her anger seemed only directed at Ed instead of the human. Of course Hana and him had to start bickering like children, it took everything in her not to tell them both to shut up. She just side-eyed Calypso for a moment, before sighing softly, arms still crossed, “Also, I don’t know why you have to go off a replace m-us,” she directed towards Ed, bitter sounding, “Didn’t know we were so boring to you.”
Jealousy was a pain in the ass, though it just seemed she was a ball of jealousy and resentment, and a almost self-assured(even if was a farce) attitude. “Hana, wake up for once. Eddie, shut the hell up, I can talk for myself.” Came her next comment, as she decided to completely ignore his introduction for her.
“I’m Eris, I would say it’s a pleasure to meet you, but I’m dead and live with a bunch of idiots, so I don’t think I can feel anything’s other than constant annoyance.” Her eyes then narrowed, though they immediately seemed a bit mirthful, glancing at Eddie, “Look how skinny she is, Eddie,” she commented, hoping he’d go off on some tangent on Calypso starving herself or some shit.

Of course Eris was going to blow this way out of proportion.
Eddie sighed, watching as she got mad at him and then evidently seemed to take it out on the poor human, who seemed already pretty bewildered by the whole scene.
“I’m not trying to replace you, for God’s sake Eris,” he groaned “I don’t mean you guys are boring, I mean this is. Come on, it’s almost been a year.”
He was referring, of course, to her death date. Most of the group had died alone, with some gaps between the murders. Sloth had been first, Eris last. Eddie was one of three members of the group who did not have a solo death date, as the group of three had all died together.
“This house,” he continued, “not being able to do things like we could when we were alive. Surely you’ve seen by now that it gets kind of... boring?”
“Oh, boohoo,” Hana piped up “I was here for ages before anyone else showed up, it was boring as hell. Cry me a river.”
Eddie chose not to respond to that. They all knew Hana had very much enjoyed the time she’d been here on her own, because she didn’t like people; and very much did enjoy lazing around doing nothing.
“I just mean nothing new has happened here in so long,” he pointed out.”
At Eris’ comment telling Hana to wake up, the purple-haired girl sent Eris a glare.
“I’m just trying to live my life,” she responded “you know what, y’all came into my house, trying to tell me when I can and cannot sleep-“
“-For the last time,” Eddie sighed “just because you died here first doesn’t make it your house.”
“That is no way to talk to your elders,” Hana replied, sucking her teeth
Eddie just looked at Calypso helplessly, deciding not to respond to Hana. He just listened as Eris made her introduction.
“She’s also an asshole,” Eddie shrugged “but that’s by the by.”
Though, when Eris commented about Calypso being skinny, Eddie fell for the bait.
“Oh, honey, she’s right,” he agreed, looking at Calypso “listen, as someone who can’t eat anymore and really misses it, please just eat some food. Enjoy it while you can.”

On the westernmost side of Seapoint Manor's second floor corridor, nothing appeared to jump out at first glance. It was dimly lit, though each evening brought rays of dwindling sunlight through a square window. The sill was blandly decorated with a glass vase and flowers that had wilted long ago. Two doors lead off into small rooms on either side of the hallway.
Upon further inspection, however, an outline took shape along the ceiling. A hatch. Ezra had discovered the hatch just a few weeks after his death, and had renovated the area above into a place he could call his own. It was a small area, really. Disconnected from the main part of the attic, the room within the hatch was better described in technical terms as a 'dormer'.
And that was where Ezra sat now, in a mostly useless storage space that he had nicknamed the loft. Multicolored light streamed through the loft's stained glass window, illuminating the small enclosure. Ezra's hands moved methodically, weaving an assortment of crystals into three thin strings. The strings were actually music wires, which gave insight as to why the bottom three keys of Seapoint Manor's famous grand piano didn't play. Ezra had shrugged the ethical dilemma off. No one played those notes anyway.
Perfect. Ezra tied off the loop and snipped away the remaining wire with a pair of cutting pliers. Now all he had to do was find something to put the gift in. It didn't necessarily need to be done for another couple days, but Ezra liked being early. Besides, he hadn't been outside the loft all day, and the others knew not to bother him when he was up there. Maybe the others could help him find a box.
Shoving the necklace into his pocket, Ezra brought himself to the hatch. Instead of opening it, he simply dropped through the floor and into the hallway below. It was best not to mess around with the house too much now that it was occupied by living humans.
He stalked down the hallway, opening up cabinets and peering into open cupboards along the way. Hmm... no box. No box meant no gift. He couldn't just hand it to her. The reveal was the best part!
The telltale bickering of Eddie and Eris perked up Ezra's ears. Were they...? Oh shit. They were! Ezra jogged down the hallway, completely elated by the situation. Calypso and her family had only moved into the house for a few days when her parents ditched. Now they could actually talk to her! He stood at the doorway for a moment, watching as Eddie, Eris, and Hana argued over another pointless subject.
"Oh back off her, Ed," Ezra said, making himself visible to the human. He gave a slight wave as he walked over the threshold. "Hey Cal! I'm Ezra, one of Seapoint's many angsty spirits..." His voice broke off when he realized the words that had come out of his mouth. She hadn't even told him his name yet, but he was already addressing her with the one he had assigned himself. Truth was, he had learned all of the family's names when they first got to the house. And the maids. And the movers, who hadn't been around for very long. But surely she'd see his prior knowledge of her name as weird... or maybe it had gone unnoticed? Shit, shit, shit. This was a bad first impression.
And then it dawned on him. I haven't finished Calypso's gift. All this time he had been worrying about Eris's deathday trinket, when he had forgotten to finish Calypso's! A blue thread rested solemnly back in his loft. He had not yet taken the time to knot it into a simple bracelet. A friendship bracelet. Every person in the house had received one from him upon him first meeting them. No, this had to have been his worst first impression yet. Unless...
"I made you something!" He said, pulling out the gift that had been originally intended for Eris. "It's a friendship... necklace!" There. First impression saved. Perhaps Cal wouldn't completely hate him now. And it didn't matter that it took sacrificing Eris's gift, he would just make her a new one soon. As long as the gift wasn't late, it would be fine. Surely he could conjure up something before the day after tomorrow.

- - - - - Calypso Salvatore
Calypso stared, mouth agape, as literal spirits started talking. To her. She fought off the horror, mouth remaining open.
She probably went into shock honestly. As the really tiny ghost and the boy one fought and fussed over silly things, and as the purple-haired one lazily remained in the bed.
She noted few things. First of all, this Hana girl was a savage lazy thing, which almost made her break out of her stupor. The next was that the small gremlin was extremely jealous of literally anything that breathed. The third, was that this boy was hyperactive.
The the tiny gremlin and the hyperactive boy argued about being her friend. That got he out of her stupor, especially when the smaller one put words in her mouth.
Someone wanted to be her friend for once? And she could see ghosts?
”I mean, I’d rather have some friends than none at all,” She commented, dark eyes widening slightly, a broad grin coming across her face. So the names were Eris. Eddie, and Hana? That would be easy enough.
She seemed to be over her shock, then another one appeared, and she laughed out softly. Many people would assume they were crazy.
She was just hoping it was real. It seemed him knowing her name didn’t throw her off. She had assumed he had been there since the beginning like the others, though his excitement was actually like a puppy, adorable as could be. “Does everyone but Hana have names that start with ‘E’?” She asked teasingly.
But then Ezra was looking guilty, then he brightened, fishing out this little necklace. It wasn’t clearly as nice as any of the rich jewels her parents expected her to wear, but she smiled all the same, beaming as she held it. Her smile brightened more, “You guys want to be my friend?” She questioned, “I mean, I move around a lot, and no one really likes me, cause I’m weird and stuff. And this necklace is super sweet! Thanks Ezra!” The attitudes of the two boys seemed to metaphorically lift her spirits.
Eris glared as everyone fawned over Calypso. Jealousy brewing in her heart, and especially hurt look overcoming her face as Ezra gave the human a present. No one ever tried so hard to be her friend. No one wanted to be around Eris as long as Apricity or some other pretty girl was around. Calypso just had to have a heartbeat, and everyone was already accepting her like she was one of them! Her glare lessened slightly. She had been increasingly closed off, slightly grumpy the closer she got to the anniversary of her death. As much as she hated Apricity in life, finding the dead bodies of her sister and her sister’s friends nevertheless quite faded away. Neither did the jealousy. She simply stewed in silent anger and despair at the fact that all Calypso had to do was breath to get people to like her. Outwardly, she put on a faux smile, looking for some method of escape or sabotage.
“So, are you guys it...?” Calypso questioned, oblivious to the jealous spirit, whose outward features seemed cool and collected. She immediately had put her necklace on, glancing around in excitement and wonder, and probably still in a bit of shock. “Or is there someone else I should know about before they scare me half to death?” She joked.

Ezra appearing and telling Eddie to lay off Eris made him huff, but obliged. He got into arguments with her way too often. They were friends, of course, and he liked her. But they just bickered a lot.
At her teasing joke about their names, Eddie laughed
“Yes,” Hana commented from the bed “because I’m beautiful and unique and none of you even come close to me.”
Eddie just rolled his eyes
“Of course we do!” Eddie said when the girl seemed surprised that they wanted to be her friend “and we’re weird too. Being dead counts as weird, right? I feel like it does.”
“Oh my god, Eddie shut your rich asshole mouth for like five seconds,” Hana groaned from the bed
But the purple-haired girl was actually awake now, having evidently decided there was no chance of her getting any sleep. She was sitting up on the bed now, and glanced over at the living girl.
“Fine,” Hana said with a shrug “I had no intention of making friends with anyone. In fact I never have any intention to do anything. But on this occasion I will make an exception because you seen pretty chill.”
Eddie glanced over at Eris. Outwardly she seemed pretty calm but she had a look in her eyes that Eddie didn’t like. He couldn’t tell what she was planning but he knew she was mad about this whole thing somehow. He never understood her attitude that adding another friend to the group meant less friendship for her. But still, he loved her anyway even if she did get jealous a lot.
At Cal’s question, Eddie shook his head.
“No, this is a little over half the group,” he said “there are seven of us in total.”
The poor girl seemed a little overwhelmed, and she still had three ghosts to meet. But hopefully they could all show her that they were friendly. Well, mostly, anyway.
He admired the necklace Ezra had given Cal for a moment. It was very pretty, and Eddie had always been interested in material things like that. Which made him sound shallow but he honestly didn’t care. It was still irritating to him that he hadn’t been wearing any of his nice expensive clothes when he died and that he was just in jeans and a t-shirt. To be fair he hadn’t exactly wanted to dress up for venturing into an old dusty house, but still. He hadn’t thought about what would happen if he died and that became his permanent outfit.
He had died wearing his gold signet ring and a very expensive watch, though, so that was close enough. They were the artefacts that he had left behind in the house. Hana’s had been an amethyst necklace and her phone; Eddie had seen them himself.

Initially, after Ezra had given Calypso the gift, he had been relieved. But the necklace had been meant for Eris, and he couldn't help but address the pang of guilt that he felt towards handing it away. He made a mental note that Eris's gift must be better, lest their friendship be impaired somehow.
He simply rolled his eyes at Hana and Eddie's bickering. The two were good friends, why did they have to behave this way so often? And surely they were making a bad first impression on Calypso!
Oh well, he thought, tapping the ground lightly with his toes. Not my first impression.
"Of course!" He exclaimed, almost in unison with Eddie. Why wouldn't they want Cal as a friend? Everyone was a little bit weird in their own special way. Especially the ghosts of Seapoint. Every single one of them could host their own freak show.
Ezra shook his head upon Cal's question. And after Eddie informed her that there were seven of them, Ezra chipped in. "Yeah, you've still got three more of us to meet." He began, listing off the others in his head. "Apricity, Felix, and Eddie's boyfriend- Creed." His voice trailed off slightly at the last statement, but he had said it in all seriousness.

- - - - - Nerissa Rosewood
Nerissa glared at Calypso, silently judgemental as always. But when Cal asked about friends, she gasped ever so softly. What if this poor girl was more like Eris, overshadowsed?
Still, the girl has pretty looks, and everyone was already fawning over her.
She couldn’t decide on if she hated or sympathized with Calypso. However, the taller, more lean girl just stared at the ghosts, her dark brown eyes alight with some mirth, ”There’s more of you?” she questioned, already seeming excited at the prospect. She seemed to not even bat an eye at the comment about Creed and Eddie.
However, Eris was currently laughing, giggles escaping her as she wiped imaginary tears from her eyes. Her sea green eyes narrowed at Eddie, her eyebrows raising, ”Yes, please tell us about your relationship with Creed,” she commented, grinning almost from ear to ear in her teasing manner. Most of her foul mood seemed to evaporate for the most part.
That wasn’t to say she was cheery and bright at the idea of a new person. She just took to observing her, picking her apart so she knew how to take her down if she ever got too much attention. In that way, it was how Eris was cruel and dark, almost sinful in how she was. She appraised the truth, despised the lies, and because of that, she could see too much good in others, but never quite enough in herself.
Her expression remained teasing, despite her often foul and depressive mood, she was also constantly bickering, teasing, or simply making fun of the others. She found that they liked to tease and play, and to fit in, she had to become what they wanted. That wasn’t to say she didn’t enjoy it, but even Nerissa didn’t really know who she was. Just what she manipulated herself to be to keep her friends around and liking her.

Felix Verduzco & Apricity Rosewood
Felix Verduzco was a ghost.
A dead, unliving, walking-through-walls and scaring-the-pants-off-people, ghost.
He was angry about the fact that he was dead. Angry about being killed so young, about not knowing who was truly responsible for his death. Then again, he was angry far before he had his life taken from him, and this changed very little about that. It simply gave him an endless amount of time to stew in his own pot of hatred and fury, to dwell on that flame of anger that would always burn hot and bright in his chest. To let it grow into an inferno, let the flames spread throughout his soul, and consume him inside and outside.
In other words, he was an asshole.
A cranky, undead, bored asshole with a temper shorter than his own height.
So when he heard Eris say his name along with what he viewed to be an insult, he was slow to show himself to the new occupant of the house. Why should he care if someone new moved in? They didn’t have any sort of magic and couldn’t bring him back from the dead, so he frankly didn’t care much about their presence. Still, he wasn’t going to sit by and let that girl tarnish his name.
He could do that all on his own.
“Do you want me to bite you, Nerissa?” Felix’s voice cut through as he at last showed himself, hands on his hips and a scowl darkening his otherwise pleasant features. He might not have been ugly to look at, but his personality more than made up for his lack of hideousness. His attitude was sharp, bristled and nasty. “Why are you all standing around here giving introductions? She’s not our friend. She’s a pathetic, lonely human who’s so desperate for companionship that she’s willing to talk to the dead.”
Along with him came the self-centered drama queen herself, Apricity. He despised the sight of her, the way she pursed her lips and tilted her head at the sight of Calypso. “Oh, shut up, Felix. That’s why you’re going to be ugly and alone forever,” she hummed as a small smile formed over her lips. Clearly, she was more pleased with Calypso than Felix was. “She’s not bad looking. Not as pretty as me, of course, but average is the new trend. A nice pair of shoes would do you some good, though, honey. And maybe a manicure. And a nice, exfoliating face mask. Oh, I think you should definitely wear—”
He interrupted her with a snarled, “Stop talking. Every word that comes out of your mouth makes me want to punch something. No one cares about your stupid shoes or nails or clothes. No one will ever care about your sense of fashion.”
“Felix, honey, your ugly is showing. Put it away before you blind the poor girl,” Apricity retorted easily, taking his temper in stride. Nothing ever quite seemed to phase her.

Everything had been going absolutely fine until Ezra made that comment about Creed being his boyfriend. Which was absolutely and categorically not true.
Of course, Eris saw this as an opportunity to tease and immediately jumped on the bandwagon, asking him about his relationship with the other boy. Eddie, blushing, was just about to respond when suddenly Felix appeared, very quickly followed by Apricity. The two were arguing, and Apricity was giving Cal beauty advice.
With a smile and a roll of his eyes, Eddie looked to Calypso and gestures to each of the spirits in turn as he introduced them.
”This would be Felix, and Apricity,” he said “and as you can see, Felix has anger issues. Firstly, though, Apricity is absolutely right. I think a manicure and a good skincare routine would do you wonders. And a fancy new hairdo maybe.”
That was when the boy turned his gaze on Ezra, folding his arms.
”And secondly, Creed wishes he was my boyfriend. I have standards, and FYI none of you meet them.”
Eddie and Creed argued a lot. Usually about very inconsequential things, but still. Eddie had to fight this boyfriend joke on principle
”I can name all of the Kardashians” Hana spoke up from the bed
”No, you’re meeting all of my standards!” Eddie replied “well, if you were a boy. I’m still gay.”

Ezra glanced about, noticing how every ghost in Seapoint seemed to be converging in the room now- all except Creed, that was. This was perfect! Rarely were most of them in one place at the same time, but it seemed that they had each taken an interest in getting to meet Calypso. Or maybe they had just come to argue. Either way, Ezra was sure that he could get some of them to play a game later.
His expression dropped when Ed mentioned Creed. "Oh... he isn't? I'm sorry, I thought-" He cut himself off, not wanting to say anything more incriminating. Did the others think that the two were dating? Maybe it had just been him. How embarrassing. "That's right. I knew that, just teasing you." Problem solved.
He couldn't help but laugh at Eddie's last statement towards Hana. He had known her the longest out of the group, but arguably not the best. She didn't seem to open up very much, and was always wasting away the days sleeping. Those had been a rough few years.
But now they had eight people at Seapoint. Teenagers, no less, even if he wasn't technically a teenager in terms of years spent alive and dead. "We should all do something together," Ezra said quietly, though he hoped to be heard from under the endless bickering around him. This was the perfect time for a game with Cal.

- - - - - Nerissa Rosewood
Nerissa glared at Felix, “No, I don’t. That’s gross. Why would you threaten to bite someone?” She questioned, before looking back at the others. “Maybe she’s pathetic but we’re stuff being around here, and Eddie can’t shut his trap. Why are you so judgemental?” okay, that was ironic and actually described her.
She was about to comment again, but then her sister had to come and take the spotlight. The human’s attention left Nerissa and Ezra, and instead focused on the pretty self-absorbed ghost. Then Apricity began talking about fashion and looking prettier, and Nerissa just backed up.
It would be best to get out of sight. Apricity had to outshine her everywhere she went. And everyone was more interested in this human.
”Okay, Okay,” Calypso began, raising her hands in self defense, feeling barraged by the ghosts. She counted, and only one seemed to be missing. Though she took to adressing things, “Sorry, but no one is touching my hair,” she strictly commented, seeming to only adress that. Everything else didn’t really matter. Though she grinned at Ezra, he seemed to be the most friendly, though perhaps the most needy too, “And yeah, if you guys are stuck with me, we should have out!”
Nerissa huffed out, her jealousy burning beneath her skin. She didn’t want the attention on her, but she also couldn’t stand her sister. Plus, her mood had been worsened as the day got closer. Too close for her liking, but maybe everyone forgot it like people tended to forget her.
She looked around, the room much too crowded, and everyone much to busy.

♚♚-- FELIX & APRICITY --♚♚
“Oh, biting someone is gross? Gee, wouldn’t have thought that. Not that it matters now, since we’re all, you know, dead,” Felix shot back with a loud, rude snort. Despite his height and slim body build, he held the air of someone who possessed an incredibly short fuse. One that was always burning, ready to burst at any moment. He wore clothes fit for any delinquent—the ripped jeans, the scratched and scuffed up converse, down to his worn and paint splattered hoodie. “And maybe, Eddie, you should learn to shut your trap.”
Calypso was rather understanding for a living, breathing human, one surrounded by the spirits of deceased adolescents. That in and of itself was fairly surprising. The way she held herself in their presence and showed no fear was a bit out of the ordinary, but then again, a ghost really had no room to judge what was strange and what wasn’t.
In Apricity’s case, she didn’t care much about anything of that nature. She was more invested in the girl’s fashion sense. “Honey, I won’t touch your hair if you don’t want me to. But, if you ever want that makeover, you just say the word and I’ll be there. Believe me, I am a magician with a can of hairspray and a straightener. You’ll look like a whole new person once I get finished with you.”
Of course, despite what Nerissa thought, she did pay a bit of attention to her sister. Turning to her with a brilliant, straight-toothed smile and tapping her perfectly manicured, pink nails against her cheek. “I used to love giving Nessie makeovers when we were little. She never did get my skill for contouring, but we can’t all be that talented.”

In response to Felix’s comment about Eddie shutting his trap, the dark-haired boy just gave a teasing smile.
“I’m just joking, Felix,” he said with a roll of his eyes “but also thank you for proving my point.”
The fact that he had taken such offence to the joke about anger issues was incredibly ironic, which Eddie couldn’t help but appreciate. Sometimes the other teenagers were all too easy to wind up. That being said, while Eddie enjoyed the jokes and teasing, if things genuinely got heated he was generally the one to speak up and try to keep the peace.
Calypso’s words made the young male smile, though.
“Honestly I think it’s more like you’re stuck with us,” he chuckled “but Ezra is right, we should all definitely hang out. I’m genuinely surprised at how chill you are at the prospect of hanging out with a bunch of ghost kids , so I think we might as well try and spend some time together.”
Eddie glanced over to the bed to note that at some point, Hana had fully fallen asleep. That wasn’t a problem, she was asleep for short bursts but she always woke up eventually.

- - - - - Calypso Salvatore
Calypso watched them interact startled by their vastly different personalities. A super vain pretty girl, a boy who was insistent on her eating and getting as much as possible. The angry little boy(seriously, how old was he?), the sleepy girl, and the overly jealous sour one.
She pondered for a moment, shaking her head, “Okay, let me recap. The sleepy on is Hana? You’re Eddie,” she pointed at him, before turning around towards Ezra, “Ezra, you’re literally the only sane one I’ve met thus far,” of course she would remember him. She then pointed at Apricity, it seemed this was where she would mess up, “Ummmm, was it Eris?”
Her gaze flickered to the now angry Eris, who had halted and flared back at her sister and at Cal, though the human took no mind, “And you’re, mistake me if I’m wrong, Princely? No, it was more like apricot,” she rubbed her chin slightly, before giving in, “There’s so many of you, I’ll never get your names right.” She huffed, before picking up a journal and plopping on he bed, tapping the pen to her cheek as she stared down.
She wrote down the names she remembered and some of the personality, before her eyes narrowed. However Eris but in then, her voice annoyed and agitated, ”I’m Eris. My sister is Apricity. Felix is the grumpy asshat. Creed is the only one not here.”
Ezra: Nice, seems overly happy to get attention, like a dog.
Hana: I’m honestly not sure if she’s been conscious for this conversation.
Eris: I’ve never seen someone so hostile and docile at the same time.
Apricity: I don’t think I could get my mirror back if she discovers it.
Felix: I have no idea how something so angry can be so little.
Eddie: Obsessed with material things? Wants me to fatten up. Totally gay for Greed.
Greed: They said Greed, right? That’s such an odd name
She lifted the pen, her eyes narrowing slightly, as she went back through the list. It seemed she added a new note by each one, a singular word, as she silently worked, pointing a pen in each ghosts direction. “Odd that one of you is named Greed, gives me an idea though.”
Sure, she heard the name wrong, but it seemed to give her an idea.
