south • of • ghostclan • north • of • crowclan
This is the much-disputed border between Ghostclan and Crowclan. For the purposes of the rp, any time one clan crosses into another clan's territory, we'll move the relevant roleplaying over here, just to make things more straightforward.
This can be used for border disputes, border patrols, individual encounters, etc.

★ Pinehollow ★ The walk into Ghostclan was surprisingly uneventful. There was an old, overgrown path that led along the bottom of the western hillside past the pond and up into the old burn site. Crowclan had worked out pretty early on that there had been a fire at one point. From this vantage point, though, Pinehollow could see clearly how the fire had changed the landscape. The hills on the Crowclan side of the territory were covered with tall, mature trees and overgrown brush. They had clearly been protected by the creeks on either side when the wildfire came down through the valley. The strange clan's territory, however, was much fresher. Wildflowers blanketed the valley. The forests, though tall enough to form a canopy, had the vibrant green glow of saplings. He could see why the strange clan preferred this area to Crowclan's. It felt full of life, not ancient and littered with cobwebs. That being said, he suspected there was actually more prey on their side of the border. The taller trees provided welcome cover for a wide range of small animals. This will be good to report back to Stonestar, he thought to himself, feeling rather proud.
They were pretty deep into the territory before they found any sign of other cats. There were scents on the air, many of them, that did not belong to cats Pinehollow recognized. He gestured for the other members of the patrol to keep their voices down and stay low.
They skirted along the hillside, sticking to the tall grasses and the cover of trees. From a heightened elevation, they could see pretty easily down into the valley. No cats in sight. Pinehollow led them further and further, until the treetops of Crowclan disappeared behind the swell of the mountain. Only then did his senses heighten and his heart rate increase. It occurred to him for the first time that this was very dangerous. Though there were no other cats in sight, it was possible that their presence had already been detected and they were walking straight into an ambush.
He was getting tempted to turn back when he suddenly heard faint voice on the air. "Brambleshade, look! I did it!"
Pinehollow's green eyes combed the field below. Then he spotted them: a pair of cats out in the open. One was a rather large tabby with long fur. The other was an apprentice-aged she-cat, the one who had just exclaimed. Between her paws was a dead bird.
"Let's go," he whispered to his companions, and he began to lead them through the tall grasses. "I'll take the apprentice. Dustcreek, Ravenstrike, you two take the warrior. Waspwing and Spottedpaw can step in if need."
★ Honeypaw ★ "Brambleshade, look! I did it!" Honeypaw held up her prey in her mouth so that her mentor could see it, despite the fact he had been watching the whole time. She placed it down between her paws and then added, "My first bird!" Then she picked it up again and began trotting in Brambleshade's direction. He was just down the path, about fifteen tail-lengths away.
She imagined how excited Bluepaw would be for her. He had caught countless birds already on his own, thanks to his long, springy legs. But she knew he would be happy for her anyway. She nearly tripped over the limp wings of the thrush as she victoriously padded down the trail, golden eyes gleaming nearly as bright as the late morning sunlight.
By the time she heard the rustling in the grass, it was too late. She glanced over, small ears perked as the disturbance registered in her brain. By the time she knew what was happening, though, she had already been tackled to the ground. "Brambleshade!" she shrieked.
At first she didn't know what had grabbed her, only that whatever it was was larger and much stronger. She was somehow wrestled onto her back, belly exposed. Only then did she look up and find herself staring into the face of a cat she had never seen before. He was a large reddish brown tom with menacing green eyes. She squirmed angrily, trying to wrestle free. He held her down with his large paws, claws beginning to prick at the skin under her fur.
"No use in screaming," he hissed. "You're outnumbered."

(here come the cavalry! And as he should be, Ghost XD)
Hazelsplash ~
There was still something about this whole venture that was making it incredibly hard for her to switch into hunting mode. This strange feeling deep in her stomach like there was something out there in the bushes watching them, a pair of eyes fixed square on the back of her head. And that just wasn't a very nice feeling to have, but no matter how fast she whipped around to look, there was never anything there. It was only a small comfort that she was not the only one having some issues and Shadowsong seemed to be feeling a little off about everything as well. And to make matters worse, the feeling that something was going to go wrong only happened to get worse when they split up to hunt in sperate groups.
"I still feel like something about this is off," the young tabby meowed softly, glancing over towards Shadowsong for a moment before fixing her gaze in front of them. She was supposed to be looking for prey, but at the moment, she really couldn't find it in her to actually care about something like that. Not when she felt as though something was horribly wrong.
And then she heard it, ears swiveling in the direction they had just come from, standing dead still as she listened. Something was wrong, she heard hear what sounded like a sucffle. "You hear it as well, right?" She snapped her head towards the older deputy, panic clearly shining in her eyes. "Something's wrong, we have to see what's going on back there," Suddenly she was worried, worried for Brambleshade and incredibly worried for Honeypaw. So, Hazelsplash didn't even wait to see if Shadowsong was going to come or not, quickly tuning tail and bolting towards the noise.
Her pawsteps thundered on the ground as she ran, tail streaming behind her as she suddenly broke through the bushes to find strange cats attacking. The warrior didn't even hesitate, managing to catch a dark brown tom growling something about 'being outnumbered' as he held down Honeypaw. Hazelsplash needed to do something, she needed to save Honeypaw from that cat. "Oh yeah?" She managed to yowl as she charged forward right into the fray, aiming to barrel herself right into the side of the dark brown tom to get him off the apprentice. Anything to save her and give her enough room to wiggle free. And when she was, hopefully, she would have the common sense to make a run for it.
Dustcreek ~
The tom was silent as they walked, eyes on the swivel as he took in this new territory. The forest here was new, the trees still young and a lot more sunlight was managing to make it through. It was nice, he supposed, but he really didn't see the big fuss in the end. Was it as nice as the territory they had claimed for themselves? Perhaps, but he didn't see the point in wasting clan energy and strength to fight this other Clan over it. Maybe they would fail in the task they had been set and simply not come across any of these other cats, so they could simply go back and report there was not much for them to take to make it worth it. (Not that he ever really thought the risk of loss of life made anything worth it.)
Unfortunately, it seemed as though his wishes wouldn't be granted as there were voices up ahead, Dustcreek instantly lowering himself to the ground, staying light on his paw as he edged forward behind Pinehollow and the others towards the other voices. So far, it seemed like there were only two cats around, but it was hard to tell. He didn't know the scents of any of the cats in this clan to know if there were others. There was just too much going on for his nose, stronger scents and weaker ones mixing in with everything. So he instead focused on the two cats there were currently, silently listening to Pinehollow, only giving a slight wave of his tail to let the tom know he had heard before he slunk off to the side to get a different angle.
Dustcreek paused, crouched in the shadows as he briefly looked across at Ravenstrike. Two on one, it wasn't exactly a fair fight, but he supposed that CrowClan didn't exactly operate in fairness. As soon as Pinehollow jumped forward towards the apprentice, that was their signal to move as well. Ravenstrike seemed to move first, jumping at the warrior so Dustcreek decided that she didn't exactly need his help, instead, laying low where he was, waiting and watching to see if anyone else was going to arrive. It was only when he heard Ravenstrike call again did he look back, seeing that the warrior had managed to wiggle away and was running at Pinehollow, who seemed to now have company as his own as another strange cat had jumped from the bushes.
"Alright, alright," he grumbled, finally pushing himself out of the darkness, jumping at the warrior running at Pinehollow from the side as he ran past where Dustcreek had been staying hidden, trying to time it right so he landed right on top of him. Or enough to slow him down, at least.
Spottedpaw ~
As soon as they crossed over into the other clan's territory, Spottedpaw was grinning, eagerly moving forward as she stuck close to the rest of the other patrol, not wanting to get lost in this strange territory. "This is so cool," she muttered, grinning over at Ravenstrike as they walked forward. Everything here was so different, so new and full of life. It was certainly a lot different from their own territory and she was sure CrowClan could certainly benefit from this land as well. The more land the better off they would be, more prey to feed them during the cold days of Leafbare when usually they could only find scraps and cats went to bed with only half full stomachs.
Now was not the time to be thinking about food.
Her ears instantly zeroed in on the sound of new voices, eyes practically lighting up as the party crept up on the unsuspecting cats. A warrior and what seemed to be an apprentice, one who looked younger than Spottedpaw was. Only two cats? This was going to be a piece of cake. Apparently, Pinehollow seemed to think the same thing as well, instructing Spottedpaw and Waspwing to get involved if needed. "What," the apprentice quickly complained, "I wanna fight too." But she didn't get much more time to complain before Pinehollow was darting at the apprentice and Ravenstrike tackled the other cat.
It took a lot of willpower, but the apprentice did as she was told, though was clearly quite upset that she had been told to stay put, glancing over at Waspwing for a moment when the new tabby arrived and tried to push Pinehollow off of the younger of the strange cats. "Can we join in now?"

★ Shadowsong ★Just like Hazelsplash, Shadowsong remained uneasy as the duo padded through the forest, away from Brambleshade, Honeypaw, and herb hollow. There was a sinking feeling in his gut that refused to leave. It was like he’d eaten a stone, so heavy was the weight in his gut. Every so often, a ripple would run through his short, dark fur, belaying his anxiety and uncertainty in the decisions he’d made that day. Every sound in the forest only served to heighten his agitated state, so that the end of his tail was lashing back and forth. “I still feel like something about this is off,” Hazelsplash stated, voice soft. Shadowsong flicked an ear in agreement, but kept his gaze focused on the forest in front of him. One foot in front of the other, he told himself. Once they reached their destination, the anxiety would go away. He was just having an off day – nothing was going to happen. They’d lived in this forest for years, and nothing had ever happened. No one was going to get hurt. Nothing was going to happen. The words became like a mantra in Shadowsong’s mind as they continued on, moving further and further away from the other half of the hunting patrol. He tried to tune in to the more peaceful sounds of the forest, but the specter lurking at the edges of his mind refused to be chased away. It clung even tighter, tendrils snaking its way through Shadowsong with an oily woozy, nauseous feeling.
Shadowsong heard it in the same instant that Hazelsplash did, and both cats stopped short, listening. There, back in the direction they’d come from, came a horrifying, blood-chilling, soul-burning shriek of fear. Instantly, Shadowsong’s heart dropped to his paws. He knew that voice. Honeypaw! Hazelsplash came to the same conclusion, and together they wheeled about and raced back towards herb hollow. Despite his longer legs, Hazelsplash was somehow faster than him, and soon disappeared from view.
He kept imagining all sorts of messed up scenarios as he ran; Honeypaw, torn to shreds by some unknown enemy. Honeypaw, still alive but fatally wounded. Brambleshade, mortally wounded as well. Hazelsplash, beset by some shadowy threat. His heart alternated from resting in his throat to dragging along the ground between his paws, and his stomach was thrashing about so fiercely he was surprised he hadn’t vomited yet. He unsheathed his claws and dug them into the leafy ground, hurtling himself faster. And faster.
The sound of a fight reached his ears, and a new feeling roared within Shadowsong. Anger – fury, boiling and roiling and bubbling as fierce as the fire that had destroyed this land so long ago. The nausea faded, replaced by this new rage and his heart began to beat faster, flooding his system with adrenaline in preparation.
He crested a small hill and could now see the scene. Some massive tom was pinning Honeypaw, while another was battling Brambleshade, and yet another had gone to intercept Hazelsplash.
His anger swelled within him, pounding in his blood. He bunched his hind legs and leapt.
Shadowsong fell down upon the CrowClan cats like a hammer strike from the gods – a thunderclap of righteous, blinding fury.
Like the shadow he was named after, he seemed to appear from nowhere, and slammed into Pinehollow’s flank with such force and speed both toms were sent sprawling away. In an instant, Shadowsong had regained his footing. And then he rained down upon Pinehollow like a hurricane, a storm of claws and teeth and rage. A righteous, chaotic storm of blinding rage.
These cats had dared to walk upon his territory; had dared to threaten his clan. Had dared to threaten harm to an apprentice! He would smite them with all the rage of StarClan!
And so he did, unleashing all of this and more upon Pinehollow, and the cats of CrowClan.

★ Waspwing ★ As Pinehollow barreled into the little black she-cat, and Ravenstrike and Dustcreek took care of the tom, Waspwing hung to the side with Spottedpaw. His gaze flickered from side to side, watching his clanmates go to work. The black she-cat screamed out a a name, and he felt the slightest twinge of pity. She sounded young, she must have been barely older than a kit. But now was not the time for mercy. In his mind, this was necessary. Stonestar wanted them to send a message, and that message would be key in establishing their clan in their new home. They needed to show that they were strong, otherwise they might lose yet another home.
Spottedpaw was anxious to fight, he could see as much from her body language. Her tail trashed as she crouched, waiting to pounce on anything that moved.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the tabby tom wriggle his way out of Ravenstrike's grasp and begin running toward Pinehollow. "Can we join in now?" asked Spottedpaw impatiently. But Waspwing was already on the move. He leaped toward the tabby tom, helping Dustcreek to tackle him to the ground. Then he dug in his teeth to whatever he could get ahold of, which happened to be the tabby's cheek.
The scuffle continued violently. There came sounds of yowling and hissing behind him, but he was too busy with the tabby tom to realize that reinforcements had come for their enemies.
★ Honeypaw ★ She continued to squirm, but the reddish tom was much too strong. His weight was causing a throbbing ache in her shoulders, and she struggled to escape the sharper pain of his claws. She screamed for her mentor again. She couldn't see him, but she knew he was fighting more than one cat, and she feared that he had already been overpowered.
The reddish tom growled, and she tried to kick at him with her hind paws. She connected with his belly, and his grip on her shoulders tightened. "No!" she cried as he raked his claws across her exposed underbelly. Her adrenalin was too high too feel much pain, but she could feel her skin tearing. Her eyes widened as she felt blood trickling down her sides. Screaming for Brambleshade was no use. There was no way he could get to her while fighting off three other cats. She wished Sootstar was there, someone strong enough to help them. But she knew he was far away, probably miles down the valley and too far to hear them. "Mama!" she cried out, not knowing who else to call for. Even Starclan felt incredibly distant.
Just then, she felt an impact coming from the side. The reddish tom was thrown off her as a flash of fur flew in from her right. She scrambled to her paws, disoriented. Her world spun, and she nearly fell over. All around her were the sounds of fighting, and the glaring of the sun which obscured her vision. She looked up, breathing heavily. Only then did she realize what was happening. Shadowsong was there, and he was fighting the reddish tom with the anger of a cornered fox. He dug his teeth into the reddish tom and wrestled with him violently. Honeypaw ran over to help, but the two large toms were too fast. She was afraid if she slashed at the enemy tom, she might hit her deputy instead. It was also in that moment that she remembered that she was bleeding. She looked down and saw red droplets speckling the dirt. She felt lightheaded. The world was spinning.
You have to help. This thought dominated all her brainpower. It blurred the edges of her vision and eliminated all the extra sounds around her. Somehow she knew that Hazelsplash was there too, and she was helping Brambleshade to fight off the attackers. It felt as the the tide had suddenly turned in their favor. If she could just muster her strength, and help her clanmates to scare of the invaders, maybe everything would be okay.
Before she knew what she was doing, she was digging her claws into the reddish tom's back. "Leave him alone" she growled angrily.
★ Pinehollow ★ Perhaps under different circumstances, he would have realized that what he was doing was wrong. It was clear to see that the apprentice was no match for him in either size or skill, and she was as easy to overpower as a blind rabbit. But in that moment, with the blood pumping through his ears, and the Adrenalin of being in another clan's territory, he was blinded. He felt no remorse as he dragged his claws across the little she-cat's belly.
But that moment was short lived. One moment he was holding the apprentice down, and the next he was being wrestled to the ground by an angry black tom. It was then, as he felt merciless teeth and claws digging into his own skin, that he realized he had made a critical error. He was unsure yet what that error had been, but he knew it was a grave one.
He fought off the black tom with the best of his ability. This cat was a far tougher match than his previous opponent. He was as heavy as a bear and fast as a viper. Pinehollow found himself fighting on the defensive, kicking with his hind legs just to get the other cat off him. He was vaguely aware of the sting of fresh wounds on his shoulders and back, but he had no choice but to fight. He answered blow for blow, hitting claws-unsheathed with all the force he could muster. He was beginning to gain a bit of ground when he felt a sharp pain in his back. He yelped and fell back, tossing off what he assumed was a second attacker with a shrug of his shoulders.
And then he stared down the black tom, green eyes venomous slits.
"Stonestar sends his regards," he spat. Then he flashed a glance in the direction of his clanmates. Thankfully they seemed to be in a better position than himself. They had the numbers--four on two. But he knew he couldn't fight off the black tom and the apprentice on his own. In a final, instinctive moment of cruelty, he turned and clawed at the apprentice with all his power. She flinched, and he felt his claws connect with the right side of her face. And then he turned tail and ran.
"Crowclan, let's go!" he called out. "Retreat!"

Brambleshade Before Brambleshade could reach honeypaw he was pushed down again my four sets of paws, two by a light grey tom and two by aa darker shade of grey tom. The darker tom showed no hesitance to starting to ripping him to shreds and Brambleshade's cheek soon began to gush with blood. He withstood the pain for a moment ;acting completely still before abruptly starting pound his hind legs against the two warriors, trying to dislodge them to little to know avail. Foxtounge! think Brambleshade think- in a desperation to do something, the tabby warrior leans over and bit the dark grey warrior as hard as he can. With at least one of the cats grip on him loosened he tossed over onto his side triumphantly shaking the two warriors off. Brammbleshade looked around for honeypaw Happy to see That Hazelspash and Shadowsong had joined the fight and even happier to see that his apprentice was free of that red toms grasp.
"Honeypaw!" he yelled for a second time, half expecting to be pushed to the ground again, but he was blocked off by the first warrior that pushed him to the ground. Her amber eyes taunting him unmercilessly. Brambleshade started to growl. "Get away from her."
Ravenstrike "Make me." Ravenstrike knew that this would be a fight she couldn't loose, even without the back up of the others. The tabby was weak and winded, it should be an easy kill. "Crowclan, let's go!" Pinehollow shouted out of nowhere "Retreat!" "WHAT? NO!" Ravenstrike didn't care about how needless loud she was being, she could scare off this false clan for good if that mouse brain would let her do it. Than out of no where the tabby warrior pounced onto Ravenstrike slashing her with his claws. "STAY. AWAY. FROM. MY. APPRENTICE." Ravenstrike winced with the pain but continued to grin, the warrior didn't want her to go either. Ravenstrike rolled over freeing herself from the toms grasp and leaped onto his back biting hard at his neck and racking her claws dong his spine. the warrior turns, Ravenstrike still on her back and Ravenstrike can feel herself being rammed into a tree. The hard old oak wood tree bark pushed through her fur and began to price and bruise her skin. Ravenstrike kicked furiously but continuously missed her opponent."HELP" she barked.

Dustcreek ~
It would have been easy if it had just been two cats wouldn't have it? Oh no, there had to be more hiding around. The younger looking tabby she-cat who had barreled out of the bushes didn't seem to be that much of a threat, but the black tom who had arrived soon after was another story. He was fighting Pinehollow with the strength and viciousness of at least three and was clearly quite a formidable warrior.
But Dustcreek tried to concentrate on the tabby tom he was currently wrestling with, digging his claws in to try and keep his grip as the tom shook to try and get the two warriors off. Dustcreek felt legs kicking, but he kept his grip, turning with the warrior pinned under him. Ravenstrike had already done a good job of making sure this warrior was weaker than usual, so hopefully this meant it would be an easy fight. Or, well, it would be if Pinehollow didn't suddenly call for the retreat.
Already?
Dustcreek jumped backward, flanks heaving and blood trickling from a small cut on his shoulder. He didn't know when he had gotten it, but he supposed it didn't matter, he'd suffered far worse at the hands of far worse cats than this. The tom snarled one last time, eyes glancing over the field of battle before he turned tail and ran off after Pinehollow back towards the border and hopefully to safety.
Spottedpaw ~
Anyone could tell her that patience was a virtue, but when stuck there watching everyone else fight and you couldn't join in was the worst feeling. The apprentice felt as though her fur was crawling with ants, she just couldn't stay still, golden eyes anxiously watching the action until finally Waspwing charged forward, and the bengal apprentice was more than happy to take that as a sign for her to get involved as well.
With a triumphant yowl, she charged forward from their hiding place, quick to launch herself at the tabby she-cat who had arrived later, claws unsheathed as she swiped at the older cat. While she had the element of surprise, the warrior was surprisingly quick on her paws, launching a counter-attack as the two cats became a tussling mess of claws and fur. Spottedpaw thought she was landing some good blows, but so was the GhostClan warrior as well.
A paw batter her right in the face, hind legs kicking into her stomach and throwing her off to the side. Spottedpaw grunted as she landed on her side, but was quick to spring up to her paws again, getting ready to launch her own second attack when Pinehollow called a retreat and was running off, Dustcreek soon following after him. "Next time won't be so easy," the apprentice growled at the strange warrior, getting ready to make her own run for it, but her mentor's sudden cry for help caught her attention, her head whipping around to see Ravenstrike struggling under the weight of a tabby tom.
"Got off my mentor!" Spottedpaw yowled, charging forward and jumping right on the tom, digging her claws in and biting the closest bit of him she could manage. She couldn't just run off now, not when Ravenstrike was struggling. They couldn't leave a cat behind.
Hazelsplash ~
There even more of them? Two more cats had sprung right from the bushes, a dark grey warrior and then a younger-looking spotted she-cat. Hazelsplash didn't even really have time to register more than that as the younger of the two cats lept right at her, digging her claws into Hazelsplash's flank.
The young warrior yowled, but kept her head in things, using her weight and experience to roll, squishing the young she-cat under her. But even though that had dislodged her, the young cat was back again with another attack, and this time Hazelsplash came to greet her, swipe claws at her face and furiously snapping her jaw. How dare these cats come running in here like they owned the place. She wondered for a moment what Sootstar would do. Would a counter-attack be ordered? Or would they stay quiet and see what this other Clan did next?
One strong kick of her hind legs and a swipe of her front paw and the young she-cat had been pushed off, landing to the side. For a moment it seemed as though she was about to get up and launch forward again, but Hazelsplash didn't hang around. Instead her only thought was on Honeypaw. "Honeypaw!" She called, desperately looking around for any sign of the she-cat until she finally saw her, looking rather broken and bloody. Some of the strange cats had run off now, only a few remaining, but Hazelsplash didn't mind then, running forward towards the battered apprentice.
"Can you walk?" She hurridly meowed, pressing her nose into the apprentice's flank to try and roll her onto her feet, "Come on, we've got to get out here." And if walking didn't work, then Hazelsplash was more than happy to pick Honeypaw up in her jaw and carry her all the way back to camp.

Brambleshade “Take that fleabag!” Brambleshade roared pushing in on the she-cat. He barely heard the exclamations of retreat from one of the other cats, he was far to angry. He had had a terrible morning and the fact the black cat had the authority to taunt him sent him into a rage, the only thing he cared about in that moment was revenge. While ramming the she-cat Brambleshade felt yet another pair of paws slash the back of his pelt. He yelped in surprise and his grip on the the black cat grew weaker, causing her to toss both of them onto the ground giving him one last hard slash across the nose but Brambleshade didn’t care about that, Brambleshade was focused on the slightly limp body of Honeypaw about 10 tail lengths ahead of him. He didn’t do anything to stop the warrior and the smaller she-cat who had (presumably) pounced on him run away, he just focuses on getting to his feet and stumbling over to his apprentice. Hazelsplash was already by her nosing her and asking her questions. Brambleshade sat down next to her, blood still dripping down his face, eyes wide with fear. “Is she alright?” Brambleshade whispered in a small voice to the brownish warrior.
Ravenstrike Ravenstrikes heart felt like it would burst with pride as she watched her apprentice jump down on the tabby warrior, significantly loosening his grip on her. Ravenstrike taking her chance pushed the warrior to the ground. How about this for a battle scar! She thought furiously raking her claws down the warriors broad face, successfully stunning him. She turned to her apprentice with her eyes shining, she desperately wanted to thank her for her helping her, but she assumed getting out of the false clans territory was more important than her gushing. “Lets catch up with the others!” she called and began running through the trees making her already sore back worse.
Could of gone better she thought as she ran, but she'll take what she could get.
