This forest was once vastly different. Our elders still tell stories of the dark canopy, the long, wispy vines. It was an ancient place, and a mysterious one. In this forest lived two clans instead of one, and they were constantly at war. But life has changed in these woods, and most among us know the forest only as it is now: a world of new growth. Now bright green saplings have begun to gain height on the old, blackened trees. And with the fire came wildflowers, which blanket the forest floor each spring and summer. The meadows are alive with the sounds of many new creeks, and the buzzing of honeybees. This land is one that has changed, just as we have changed. Now from two clans, one has risen, Ghostclan. And all that happened before is but a memory, one which echoes softly between the rapidly growing trees.

Welcome, friends, to Ghostclan! This is a traditional clan in many senses. The territory is mostly forested, with the occasional clearing, meadow, and pond. Their members feast mostly on mice, voles, and small birds, though a few warriors are brave skilled enough to catch a fish or two! The territory is nestled between a range of rocky, tall mountains. For that reason, it is rather easy to protect from invaders. Two-legs are rare, though they occasionally pass through on the trail that runs along the creek.
There are two important things that make Ghostclan different from many other clans. Firstly, it once was comprised of two different factions (known as Gladeclan and Ashclan). About nine years ago, however, a wild fire ripped through the canyon and scorched the land. The cats of Gladeclan and Ashclan were forced to flee into the high country. Their stay there was difficult, as there was little food to eat above timberline. The two clans were forced to put aside their differences and work together in order to survive. Since then, the two clans have been forged into one. It wasn't long before they were able to move back down into the valley, though the landscape of their territory is forever changed. What once were tall, green trees are now blackened, scorched frames. Enough time has passed that new trees have begun to come in, mostly delicate aspen. One benefit of the fire is that it gave renewed life to the soil, which means the forest floor is often thickly blanketed with colorful flowers and grasses.
The second important thing to note about Ghostclan involves you, dear joiner. Most of the cats in this roleplay are inspired by real life cats that once coexisted with our roleplayers. Joiners are encouraged to base their characters off of cats that they own currently, owned in childhood, or the cats of their friends/family. Of course creative liberties are encouraged. For example, you are welcome to age your characters up or down depending on what rank you'd like them to have. And don't forget to give them warrior names! The details of characters will be explained more fully under the "joining" section. The object is to imagine what our beloved cats might be like in a wild setting. It is meant to be a fun exercise, and you're welcome to be as creative as you like (even if that means making a character based on a cat you only encountered once).

General Area Ghostclan exists in the foothills of low, forested mountains. The majority of their land is tucked into the bend of two swells of mountain, like a bowl. Through the center of that bowl runs a deep creek. The land is rich and full of life. Ancient deciduous trees create thick columns that reach toward a thick canopy of green. The undergrowth is thick and often difficult to traverse in certain parts of the territory.
Notable Landmarks ★ Willow Creek - the clan's main source of water is a creek running through the middle of the territory from higher ground. It does have fish, although the count since the fire is a bit lower and Ghostclan doesn't fish much anyway. It widens as it reaches smoother ground, and near camp there is a shallow pool where cats desperate to cool off sometimes go in the summer. Over it hang a number of large willow trees. ★ Eaglestar's Clearing - this small clearing in the direction opposite the creek is also but a short walk from camp. It was created by the falling of many burned trees, between which is a sandy spot clear of most vegetation. It is here where the apprentices and their mentors come to train. ★ Lookout rock - up near the edge of the territory, an outcrop of rocks jut from the side of the hill. The largest is called "lookout rock" because from there one can see the whole territory. It is a bit of a climb, though, and apprentices often complain about being forced to go. ★ The Pond - Creating the bottom edge of the territory is a pond. It is quite shallow, and it is often swarmed by mosquitoes. Dedicated hunters come here when land prey is running low. Otherwise it is mostly ignored. ★ The Canyon - the steepest part of the territory is up straight through the middle, where the creek has been carving away for longer than time began. As the incline grows more and more steep, the rocks become more slippery and jagged. In order to reach the top of the mountain, clanmates must take one of the two paths around the sides. ★ The Herb Hollow - Up the creek a few minutes from camp, is a guarded hollow where the Medicine cats go to get most of their herbs. The vegetation there is quite overgrown, and it is also a quiet place where some moody novices go to let of steam. ★ The Meadow - The meadow is in the northern part of the territory. There, the trees are sparse, but wildflowers carpet the ground where they lay. It is a good place to find prey, particularly birds. ★ The Ruins - The ruins are on the incline close to the edge of the territory. They're mostly a scattered clump of block-like stones, the tallest of which make a broken arch. It has long since been abandoned by two-legs. ★ StarTree - Technically StarTree is not on Ghostclan territory, but it is important to not nonetheless. On the edge of the plateau of the moors, is a pond in which the center lives a massive willow tree. Healers and kings/queens go to speak with Starclan by crossing the stepping stones to its trunk, where they can sit and look into the rippling reflections.
Camp Camp is slightly west of the middle of the "bowl". It is a short walk from the where the stream runs slowest. It is there, as well as along the edges of the territory, where the forest is best protected. Below the towering columns of the oaks are the smaller, prickly pines and the bend of the creek.
The Leader's Den: the leader goes to rest in the hollowed trunk of a very thick old oak tree. It no longer has branches, and it was struck by lightning so many times that the top half snapped off. To make announcements, the leader jumps up onto "lightning tree". The Warriors' Den: A large, low juniper tree forms the largest den in the clan. It just out into the center of camp, which makes it more of a horse-shoe shape than an oval. The tree itself is low to the ground, really more of a bush, but it provides thick cover from the elements. The Apprentices' Den: All of the apprentices sleep together in the roots of an oak tree, on the side of camp nearest to the entrance. The den is quite small, but it is warm. The Nursery: On the opposite side of camp, around the bend created by the juniper tree, is the nursery. It was made by joining the branches of a marigold bush with the tall pine against which it leans. The den is comfortable, and the tree provides good protection. The Elders' Den: Beside the Nursery is a smaller den, nestled into a small hill of boulders. The den is between the boulders, and is very dark and quite small. But the elders seem to like it because it's insulated. The Medicine Cat's Den: Next to the Lightning Tree is the healers' den. More accurately, the fallen top half of the Lightning Tree forms the small, comfortable space. Its scraggly branches have been woven together to form a thick lean-to. Vines grow over the entrance, and inside the bark is used to store herbs.

Here are a few things to keep in mind before joining:
Expectations ★ Literacy - this is a semi-advanced roleplay, meaning I expect joiners to write about 2-3 paragraphs per post. It also means there are certain expectations for the effort put into characters (meaning making them flawed, unique beings rather than stock characters). ★ Forum Rules - please follow them! ★ Godmodding/spotlighting - try not to write what another person's character does without the permission of their creator. ★ Plotting - please come ready to contribute ideas and plots! The more drama the better! ★ Realism - no powers or unrealistic appearances for your characters, please. Obviously, as mentioned previously, these cats are based on once living ones. Creativity is encouraged, however there are other roleplays for powers and special abilities.

★ THE LEADER ★ Sootstar ★ 60 moons (4 remaining lives) ★ Tom ★ Leader ★ ℊℓоω Sootstar's build is defined by his bulk. He is heavier and stronger even than he looks--and he is larger than most cats. He is long-legged and his face is rather triangular. His pelt is mostly a dark, charcoal gray. His underbelly, inner legs, and chest are mottled with white and cream. He has intense green/yellow eyes and a distinctive scar on his left side, where an entire portion of his ear is missing. He was well known for his strength in battle as a young warrior, but one fox got the better of him.
In terms of personality, Sootstar is a very reserved tom with a cool temperament. He rarely gets angry, but he also rarely shows excitement. He is not quick to judge, though he is adept at reading other cats. He works in mysterious ways, and he is not to be trifled with.
Tribute: Sootstar is based off of my late kitty, Puck, who disappeared a few years ago. He was an absolute legend. King of the neighborhood; all of the other cats left him alone. But he never failed to show up on the foot of my bed every night.
★ THE DEPUTY ★
Shadowsong ★ 30 moons ★ Male ★ Deputy ★ 𝕾𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖒𝖗𝖆𝖌𝖊 Shadowsong is a rather sleek, stream-lined tom who stands an inch or so above his other warriors. Like his name seems to imply, his predominant color is a black as dark as a starless night. Spread across his fur, like a speckling of stars or dust, is a light ashen gray. The tips of his ears are the same color, and his eyes are a icy blue. His fur is smooth and short, although it forms a thick pelt.
Shadowsong is a jovial fellow who enjoys telling stories and legends. He's easy-going and charismatic and doesn't take much seriously, although he is deeply dedicated to his Clan. Despite his nature, Shadowsong strictly believes in the warrior's code and has a strong sense of morals, although he doesn't necessarily believe the world is black and white. While he holds honor dear, he can recognize that some situations can force someone to make a choice that may cast them as evil, even if they are far from it.
★ THE MEDICINE CAT(S) ★
Stonefoot ★ 20 moons ★ Male ★ Medicine Cat ★ Thunderheart57 A gray cat with a white underbelly and paws. Has green eyes.
Stonefoot can be a little irritated when nosy kits come into the medicine cat den, but he answers their questions if they relate to the situation he is working on. He has a soft spot for vole, because it is his favorite piece of prey. Stonefoot, despite being a medicine cat, is a fantastic fighter who can get his claws dirty when he needs to. He admires the leaves changing color in leaf-fall, and his favorite herb to use is travelling herbs because he can’t help but crack a smile when a curious kit’s face contorts into disgust and regret for their poor decision.
Tribute: I had a cat when i was younger. Newton, who had the same description Stonefoot has.

★ SENIOR WARRIORS ★
Snakefang ★ 34 moons ★ She-cat ★ Senior Warrior ★ ℊℓоω Snakefang's name doesn't seem to match her appearance. On a first encounter, one might notice her plush ginger fur, her large golden eyes, and her feathery tail. She looks perfectly harmless, but don't let that fool you. She's about average in size, if not slightly smaller. She has a pink nose and tufted ears.
This she-cat is feistier than a cornered snake, which is where she gets her name. She is sarcastic, clever, and sometimes a bit difficult to get along with. She likes to pick fights, and isn't afraid to bicker. Those things being said, she is one of the best hunters in camp, and she actually knows what she's talking about most of the time.
Tribute: Snakefang is based on a cat I had growing up called Clementine. She was crazy. But she was cuter than a button and she kept the mice out of our one-hundred year-old house.
★★★ Poppybreeze
★ 67 moons ★ She-cat ★ Senior Warrior ★ A cat on the larger side of things, not helped by her longer fur that she's always complaining about in the hot weather, Poppybreeze is a mostly black she-cat, mottled with splashes of ginger across her pelt and face, with the ocasional white around her muzzle and on all four of her paws. Her eyes are mix between both yellow and green, seeming more and more yellow the more light is around.
All her life this she-cat has been working hard. Known to be a little clumsy on her paws and just not that quiet it meant that she always found it hard to be good at anything. Her heavy pawsteps scared away the prey and her lumbering starture made it hard to keep up with cats in a fight. But she never stopped working, always putting in the effort with a smile on her face and a happy word to whoever she talks to. While she still somtimes wonder if the life of a medicine cat would have been easier, she doesn't regret her decision to keep training as a warrior. She simply loves every moment of it nad is proud to protect her Clan.
★★★ Willowstream ★ 34 Moons ★ She-cat ★ Senior warrior ★ WyrmTime Willowstream, like her sister, Snakefang, has the the same fluffy fur and and the same flowy tail, with the only difference being Willowstreams Cedar brown and white fur and her minty blue eyes, but unlike her sister her appearance actually matches her personality.
Willowstream is one of the few cats in this Clan that others have little bad words to say about her. She is lively, Friendly, considerate and stubborn beyond belief once she has an idea in her head. She always believes the best in cats and is awaits first to defend her sister if others say rude about her. Willowpelt loves hunting and fighting but her favourite duty is to train apprentices, though she finds it a bit hard to be stern with them sometimes.
★ WARRIORS ★
Wolfspirit ★ 18 moons ★ She-Cat ★ Warrior ★ goldfiish Wolfspirit is a dark smoky grey she-cat who has black strips outlining her ears and tail. Below her deep green eyes she has tiny white spots. She has a large scar running from her underbelly to her left flank. She has a deep nick in her left ear and a small scar right below her chin. Her fur is sleek and thick and her back legs are relatively strong. She can run fast but has a poor sense of smell and is of a rather shorter stature.
Wolfspirit is extremely sassy and very short-tempered. Even as a kit she was prone to engage in aggressive behavior. Although her anger is a bit of a problem, she loves teasing her friends. Although she strongly believes in defending her clan, she can be downright disrespectful to her superiors. She loved training to fight, but never got the hang of hunting due to her lack of smell and patience.
★★★
Reedfang ★ 37 moons ★ Tom ★ Warrior ★ goldfiish Reedfang is a dark orange tom with a brown undercoat. His fur is extremely thick and fluffy, especially along his scruff. His eyes are a light blue which is a sharp contrast to his darker pelt. His has a thick chest and stands above most of the clan. His fangs are a little longer than they should be, throwing of the proportions of his face.
Reedfang is the definition of a cat-pleaser. He always has the politically correct thing to say and values other's opinions. It is difficult for him to confront other people due to his innate desire to be loved by everyone. He is extremely social and enjoys talking for the sake of talking. Although he appears noble, he also has an ambitious streak which may hide his darker intentions. He is exceptionally patient and waits to see how others sway before stating an opinion.
★★★
Hazelsplash
★ 13 moons ★ She-cat ★ Warrior ★ ᏼꮖꭱꭰꭱꮖ🇳ꮐ A fairly short-statured and short furred she-cat, Hazelsplash is a brown-gray tabby with green eyes which sometimes appear to be more yellow in colour depending on the light. She has an undercoat of fluffy sandy brown fur, most visible on her stomach which is littered with more darker brown bengal-like spots. Her tabby stripes are dark black and rather thick in nature, covering a larger precentage of her body than normal tabby markings, meaning that the rings around her tail make it seem as though it is almost completely black.
Hazelsplash is a very friendly cat, always the first cat to lend a paw to someone in need or tell a joke in serious situations to try and 'lighten the mood'. Though she is also very playful and does enjoy messing around and sometimes forgets to take something seriously. But some see that as a good thing, how she is always able to find the light in even the darkest of situations and always willing to try and turn things around for the better. Though she is a fairly new warrior, only recently getting her warrior name, Hazelsplash is determined to try and be the best cat she can possibly be and ready to do anything for the Clan she loves.
Tribute: I managed to convince my mother to rescue a kitten from a litter which was on the way to the adoption center a couple of months ago. She was affectionatly named Tigger. Now I'm visiting again this cat does love jumping up on your chest and curling up purring, all while getting in the way of what you're trying to do and shoving herself right in your face. I have inhaled a face full of fur more times over the past couple of weeks than I would like to admit.
★★★
Runningsong ★ 45 moons ★ Male ★ Warrior ★ !Rowanfur Runningsong is an unkempt cat with ragged fur and a scratched-up nose. His patterning is that of a gray cat with cream underbelly and dark, broken stripes along his back, as well as white hairs around his muzzle from age. His eyes are a pale green. His build doesn't exactly tower over other cats, but he is on the taller end of the height spectrum.
Despite his rough looks, he has a bright personality, known by most as a practical wisecracker. His main motivation is to serve himself and his closest companions. He isn't likely to risk his neck for someone he doesn't know well, and has been known to be cowardly or follow the path of least resistance. He would likely be described as chaotic neutral. He has no patience for cats who have no spine, hypocritical as it is, probably because he sees himself in those types of cats.★★★
Brambleshade ★ 38 moons ★ Tom ★ Warrior ★ WyrmTime Brambleshade is an ominous cat by nature, but his appearance certainly doesn’t help. His long thick brown fur he often blends with the territory’s surroundings and with his hefty body type often leaves many inexperienced apprentices with a fright while out hunting. Ebony coloured stripes pattern his pelt framing his face and his cold blue eyes.
Most cats do not remember where Brambleshade came from, to them it seems he appeared one day and quietly took his place in the clan. He tends to stray away from clan gossip and keep to himself and seems to only openly speak when the clan are having important discussions. The only other thing that the clan knows about the mysterious tom is that he has a curious interest with the medicine cat and their apprentice.
Tribute: I met Hubert in a cat cafe on my holidays once and he really did charm me! He seemed like the silent protector of the cats there and he was quite polite to me. ★ APPRENTICES ★
Honeypaw ★ 8 moons ★ She-cat ★ Apprentice ★ ℊℓоω Honeypaw is in the running for most adorable cat in the clan. She's a petite ball of black fur with large, amber eyes. Her fur is medium in length, and she has tufts of fur on her snowy white paws and on her ears. She also has a white underbelly, a white chest, and an unusual, silver-striped tail.
This little she-cat is outgoing and pleasant to be around. She's unafraid of strange cats, and makes friends with everyone she meets. She's also braver than one would expect of someone so little. She'll jump head first into whatever task is given to her, and her mood is rarely dampened.
Tribute: Honeypaw is inspired by my current kitten, Honey, who is the sweetest little thing on the planet.
★★★ Bluepaw ★ 8 moons ★ Tom ★ Apprentice ★ ℊℓоω Bluepaw, despite being only 8 moons old, is as tall as most full-grown cats. He has long legs that he has yet to grow into. Other than their difference in size, Bluepaw is quite similar in appearance to his sister, Honeypaw. He too is jet black with a white belly and paws. He, however, has an entirely black tail, and his chin is white as well. He has intelligent green eyes.
He is much more reserved than his sister, and he is more likely to follow her lead than to veer off on his own. He is very gentle, and is hesitant to hurt any living thing. His size, thankfully, works to his advantage when it comes to his duties.
Tribute: Bluepaw is based off of my second current kitten, Blue. He's a gangly, awkward little dude but he's super sweet.
★★★
Ghostpaw ★ 9 moons ★ Tom ★ Apprentice ★ 𝕾𝖙𝖔𝖗𝖒𝖗𝖆𝖌𝖊 Ghostpaw's name is surely fitting for his appearance. Somewhat smaller than other toms his age, Ghostpaw's appearance is quite eerie. The young tom's coat is a pure, brilliant white; his fur is predominantly short and lies close to his form, but his tail, scruff and chest are decorated by fur that's a bit longer. Due to his albino nature, Ghostpaw's eyes are a terrifying pinkish red that seem to stare through someone. More often than not, albino animals have issues with hearing and sight, but thankfully Ghostpaw's hearing is as sharp as any others, as is his sight.
Like his namesake, Ghostpaw isn't a cat of many words. He's more prone to observe than to contribute to a conversation. That isn't to say he is unintelligent - in fact, the opposite is true. Ghostpaw is as smart as a whip, but prefers to speak only when he feels his words will not be wasted. He is an excellent hunter, despite his coloring, because of his ability to move silently. He's often rather stoic and has a rather dry sense of humor, but he is dedicated to the protection and care of his Clan.
★★★
Flintpaw ★8 Moons★ Male ★ Apprentice★ springfoot A dark blue-gray tom with distinctive white patches on his chin, chest, paws and tail.
He intentionally causes trouble and likes being the centre of attention, and is openly embarassed of his kittypet heritage. Inwardly, Flint always feels that he has something to prove, and avoids opening up to anyone, even close friends. He finds it hard to trust people, and whilst he would never admit it, he really cares about what people think of him.
★ QUEENS ★
Cheetahstrike ★ 41 moons ★ She-cat ★ Queen ★ ℊℓоω This sleek she-cat has a predominantly golden-brown coat with a darker brown spotted pattern. She is rather long-legged and lean, more on the taller side of cats. Her tail is also long, and she has pointed ears. Her eyes are a deep forest green. Her nose is black. She is a rather regal-looking cat, though she has a slight limp due to an injury sustained in her hip that never fully healed.
Cheetahstrike is a reserved and proud she-cat. She was a warrior for some time before she became a mother, and she was always a dedicated member of the clan. She has high standards both for herself and for others, and rarely complains. She is not cold, but she does not dole out praise often. Cheetahstrike has a dry sense of humor and is the first to admit she misses her warrior duties.
★ KITS ★

★ ELDERS ★
Coldspring ★ 156 moons ★ She-cat ★ Elder ★ ℊℓоω Coldspring is not very springy anymore, though she is rather cold. This old she-cat is older than most of the trees in the forest. She is a round, silver tabby with distinct, black stripes. Her eyes, which are icy blue, glare holes into whoever dares disturb her rest. She has a pink nose and a round belly.
Apprentices are given clear instructions not to annoy Coldspring, or they might get a sharp bit on the ear. She is incredibly grumpy, and her heavy black tail is constantly thwacking back and forth. That being said, most of her time is spent snoozing, so she is mostly harmless as long as you don't annoy her.
Tribute: She's based on my cat, Tatanka, who passed away about a year ago. She was a sassy old broad and she didn't really like me (or anyone for that matter). But she was a member of the family!
★★★
Jaggeddream ★ 186 Moons ★ Male ★ Elder ★ wrymntime Jaggeddream is an old cat and it shows. His once bright walnut coloured coat now had dulled to a taupe, and his shining amber eyes that once “Brought in all the she-cats” were blinded and dull and His long striped tail dragged against the ground when he walked. The kits that are told stories of when the elder could battle foxes one pawed often find it hard to believe when they meet the brittle elder. Actually most of the time Jaggeddream scares young kits with his cold unseeing gaze. Jaggeddream has not changed without reason though.
Jaggeddream once was Jaggedclaw, a fine young warrior with a tendency to battle and break she-cats hearts (though he pretty much always left relationships on good terms with the opposing mate), he was Ghostclans finest. Until the dream came of course, for one night in leaf fall Jaggedclaw had a mysterious dream that left him with slightly burry sight in the morning and next to no energy. The dream kept returning with his vision and sanity getting worse and worse with it. The dreams taunted the warrior until long lasting turned to dust and the warrior could barely navigate camp. Then one night a group of concerned cats found him screaming gibberish in the ruins, tears streaming down his face. They took him to medicine den for some calming herbs and it was quickly decided it was time for Jaggedclaw to join the elders den (and receive a new name). Then the dreams abruptly stopped, though Jaggeddreams vision and weakness got no better, but at least he was free to sleep happily at night. No matter how hard the medicine cats tried to talk to Starclan, they offered no explanation on why Jaggedclaw had suffered and stayed entirely silent during the whole ordeal. These days Jaggeddream is a vague and disoriented cat but enjoys the quiet of the elders den and the company of Coldspring.
★ ROGUES ★
Lassie ★ ? ★ She-cat ★ ? ★ WyrmTime Lassie, or more commonly known as Lass, Is a attractive tall pale yellow cat that lives on the edge of Ghostclan territory. An off white colour that dapples her paws and belly bleeds onto her face and compliments her pale green eyes. For most of her body she is relatively short haired but her jaw, paws, neck and tips of her ears fluff out a bit, giving her a very distinct silhouette.
Lass appeared one day when the clan were moving down back to the forest from the mountains and despite never wanting to join them she displayed a great interest in the clan, often play flirting with any cat that comes her way. These days though she spends her time appearing and reappearing around the border still play flirting and chatting with patrols From her side of the border, occasionally crossing it for jokes and other things in that nature. Most cats don’t have the greatest opinion of her, saying she must have nefarious intentions, but since she hasn’t been to much trouble Sootstar has no inclination to chase her away from the territory.

After checking to be sure your idea rank is open, you're welcome to join! As previously stated, the idea is to base your characters on cats you know in real life. This isn't mandatory, but I think it would be a fun way to interact with cats who have special places in our hearts. Also as previously noted, feel free to take creative liberties with your tributes. For example, if your cat is currently quite old, but you'd like to imagine them as a warrior or apprentice, you're obviously welcome to age them down. Also feel free to change aspects of their appearance and give them fun histories. Again, this is a creative exercise and the point is to have fun. These are more just guidelines to give you ideas. Also, I've created a "tribute" section if you want to tell us more about the cat your character is based on. This is optional, but I thought it might be a good idea.
Here's the joining form!
Character Name ★ Age (in moons) ★ Gender ★ Rank ★ Physical Description (however long you'd like, preferably a short paragraph)
Personality Description (again, up to you)
Tribute: (who is this character based on? tell us about them!)
Image optional. You can use a picture of your pet, or one you found on the internet

They are a feisty bunch and they're not afraid of confrontation. Will Ghostclan be able to negotiate a peace? Or are tensions already too high to avoid all-out war?
2. The Ruins are haunted! A patrol has an encounter with the ghosts of some members of Gladeclan who died in the fire ten years ago. The patrol (comprised of Soostar, Reedfang, Snakefang, Bluepaw, and Ghostpaw) must figure out how to rid the territory of the ghosts, and how to help the spirits find their way to Starclan.

[Oh I watched the first few episodes of that, but I was not a fan. People really are crazy out here! But anyways! Do you have any plots you want for the clan specifically or do you want to start rping? Maybe we could even have a prophecy going?]

[I'll try to help with any ideas and feel free to use me as a sounding board for yours! And yes! Whichever warrior you want to mentor your apprentice I'm totally cool with. And okay!] [We could have a prophecy that has a certain group of cats go up one of the mountains to find something (I don't know maybe like a past leader who disappeared or something?) I don't know haha whatever you want, just trying to throw out ideas]

★ Bluepaw ★ The morning light was a soft stream of gold, and though the air was quite chilly, Bluepaw could feel the warmth from the sun begin to sink into his fur. He sat on the western side of camp, just beyond the shadow of the treetops. Not many cats were up and about. He knew his sister was sleeping in the apprentices' den, probably with her nose tucked into her fluffy tail. He had always been the early riser. Unfortunately, this usually entailed a spot on the dawn patrol. Though being assigned a project so early in the day never failed to make him anxious, once he was out, he usually found that he enjoyed stretching his legs. Speaking of stretching, he did a little now. He arched his back and wriggled his toes in attempt to shake off the drowsiness of sleep.
At that moment, he spotted Sootstar emerge from the Lightning Tree. The older tom was also one of the early risers in the camp, and Bluepaw often saw him first in the mornings.
Sootstar swished his tail in a friendly gesture as he noticed the young apprentice. "Are you willing to go on the first patrol, Bluepaw? Perhaps you've earned a break. I know you've gone three days in a row."
Bluepaw looked at his paws, feeling a bit bashful. "I don't mind," he assured the leader. "Might as well let the others sleep since I'm up anyway."
Sootstar seemed a bit skeptical, but he nodded in confirmation. "Alright, if you say so. How about you fetch your mentor. Might as well wake up Snakefang too. She missed her hunting patrol yesterday to go to the sunning rocks."
At this, Bluepaw looked over at the warrior's den. He hated going in there while everyone was sleeping, and he was scared Snakefang would tear his ears off, but he wasn't about to disappoint Sootstar. He trotted over to the den and squeezed through the entrance. Inside it was dark. His eyes failed to adjust, and he nearly stepped on someone's tail. "Reedfang," he whispered loudly. Someone grunted in annoyance at the sound of his voice. "Reedfang, Snakefang, we have dawn patrol!"

Reedfang Reedfang groggily lifted his head from his nest, his eyes slowly opening when he heard the voice of his apprentice, Bluepaw. He heard Wolfspirit growl in her sleep a few nests away but she didn't get up. He was glad, he didn't care for the hot-head very much. He glanced over at Bluepaw and gave him a half smile as he arched his back. He yawned silently and slowly rose from his nest. He dipped his head gently to Bluepaw, feigning a smile even though he was dead tired.
He glanced over at Snakefang, another snarky she-cat, not excited to wake her up. He didn't want to subject his young apprentice to her possibly sharp remark so he padded over to her nest in order to wake her. "Snakefang," he whispered, over her face "I'm afraid you're going to have to wake up and go on dawn patrol with me and Bluepaw." His voice was warm despite the early morning, knowing that no one likes to be woken up aggressively.
He nodded over to Bluepaw and mentioned with his tail for them to exit the den. He glanced at Snakefang again, and decided to wait outside for her. He padded out of his den and sat down, "Goodmorning," he purred to Bluepaw, licking his paw and running it over his own head to smooth down his fur, "I hope you had a better night sleep than I did." He said in amusement.

Reedfang Reedfang chuckled at Bluepaw's recap of his night. "Well I'm sure the distance helped." He flicked his tail in greeting to Snakefang as she emerged from the den, but she didn't seem to be in the mood for morning greetings. He grinned to himself as she sighed heavily. Sootstar made a joke and Reedfang laughed, glancing at Bluepaw as he got up to follow his leader.
"How about after morning patrol we catch some breakfast? We can get Coldspring some sparrows or mice, then maybe she'll warm up to us." He told his apprentice. Reedfang loved having an apprentice. Bluepaw was his first one and he thought it was a good educational experience for the both of them. Teaching someone to fight, hunt, and more about the land was fun and made Reedfang feel more important. He was eager to teach Bluepaw everything in order that his apprentice may become one of the best warriors. And of course, he'd get some praise for training such a strong tom. Bluepaw was going to be a powerful warrior, Reedfang believed. He was already tall, and the muscle will come with time.
"After breakfast maybe we can get Honeypaw to climb up Lookout Rock with us. We need to build up your stamina." Reedfang continued, already feeling invigorated for the day. He glanced at Sootstar "We need to get apprentices off their rears somehow don't we?" He said with amusement, remembering how lazy he use to be in his younger days.

★ Bluepaw ★ Sootstar perked his ears at Reedfang's suggestion. Then he nodded promptly in agreement as he purred, "Good idea! I was thinking we'd patrol over near the ruins. As far as I know, it's been a while since that area was checked thoroughly."
Bluepaw felt a twinge of anxiety at the idea of exploring the ruins. He'd only been there once, and he remembered the area giving him an uneasy feeling. He chose not to voice his trepidation, however. He wanted the older cats to think he was brave, and he knew his fears were illogical. He heard Honeypaw's voice echo in his head: What's so scary about an old two-leg place?
The patrol formulated a rough line as they made their way through the tall grasses. The path they followed led them in the direction of the creek, which they would have to cross in order to get to their destination.
"Sparrows like to nest around the ruins at this time of year," noted Snakefang. There was a slight raspiness to her voice from sleep. It was the first time she'd spoken so far. "They should be easy prey."
This boosted Bluepaw's spirits a bit. He liked catching birds, as his long legs provided him more spring than most cats. Perhaps that would be a good way to show off to Sootstar. His anxiety quickly returned, however, as his mentor proposed they go up to Lookout Rock after their patrol. "We need to build up your stamina," stated the tom. Bluepaw shot him a look of trepidation, but he didn't argue. He respected his mentor, and he also liked him. He was glad he was paired with someone gentler than Snakefang, even though his expectations were high. Sootstar released a knowing laugh at Reedfang's suggestion. Bluepaw guessed he was reflecting on his own apprenticeship, and how it felt to ascend the rocky incline on still-growing legs.
The sun was much brighter outside of camp, where the gang crossed an overgrown meadow. Wildflowers drooped under the weight of the morning dew, and a few bees were already drifting about in the air. Bluepaw was secretly glad he had joined the patrol. He was shy about thinking it, but the valley was beautiful at that time of day. Up ahead he could see the creek and the old two-leg bridge which they would use to cross.

Reedfang Reedfang nodded respectfully to his leader, thinking it would be a good plan to take Bluepaw to hunt near the ruins. "That's a good idea," agreed Reedfang. He noted Bluepaw's somewhat poorly hidden concern, but he hid his smile.
He glanced at Snakefang, agreeing with her also. "Yes, Snakefang's right. We can catch sparrows." He was always taken aback how the ginger she-cat could be so grumpy at times. Currently she didn't seem angry, but he had been on the receiving end of some of her harsh remarks. She appeared like she should be sweet, but experience led Reedfang to know that was hardly the case.
He padded among meadow with the patrol and appreciated that it was a calm day. There seemed to be no trouble on the horizon and he expected a laidback morning. He continued to chat with his apprentice, glad that his leader approved of the plans he set for Bluepaw that day.
"Oh don't worry Bluepaw, it's not that bad of a climb. You'll be grateful for all the training when you become a warrior. Maybe finally someone will be stronger than Sootstar if you climb up the lookout enough." He teased. They approached the bridge and Reedfand let Sootstar and Bluepaw ahead of him. He cut in front of Snakefang and flicked his tail playfully at her before tilting his head and flashing a smile at her. He always liked being a nuisance.
[haha you're good, it's fun when they're longer]
