Sapphires first litter
It’s started two moons ago, I had started living With the Tallwalkers, my brother, my father, mother, younger sister, and a newcomer that stayed inside the tallwalker den.
Mother had hated the newcomer, a new aggressive female. My brother in the other paw had chosen her as a mate. I had chosen another husky, by the name of Bear, he was a large red husky with handsome hazel eyes.
The tallwalkers call me Sapphire, so I stick with that name. My mother, alpha female of this husky pack was half wolf, so she had attacked the newcomer, which resulted in he whole pack attacking, the newcomer escaped with the help of the tallwalkers. She was what the tallwalkers called a German shepherd.
Anyways, one moon later I told my pack that I was pregnant. Everyone was happy, but once the newcomer fell pregnant too, my brother Harley, the omega, of course had to deal with the pain of mating with an enemy, on top of that Bear, my mate, was aggressive towards him, no matter how much Harley submitted, he had been attacked more than twice. There was nothing that I could do and of course My father had become great friends with bear, my fathers name was teddy.
Another moon later I had given birth. I snuck away as soon as I sensed it coming. So it’s me, currently, sneaking off during high moon. The tall walkers were excited they called this moon the super pink moon. Maybe why I’m giving birth on a full moon. I went to a sacred birthing sight, where my mother had given birth to many litters. I scented this hay, a nice spot to keep warm. There I endure he pain of giving birth to 13 puppies, the last one was too big and had passed, I laid her by my side keeping her close so I could scent her sweet smell. I had soon discovered another pup, small, almost an exact copy of me. I looked at the two puppies, I was down to 11 puppies.
The tallwalkers came and took a puppy, my smallest one, I was too tired to defend her, they went and took her too the other nursing dog, the german Shepard who had a litter of her own. Though I assume she rejected the puppy as they brought her back. I had grabbed her and put her with my other puppies, I was sure she’d be alright, she was breathing normally and was warm. But when I woke from a short nap she had passed. I sat and looked at her hoping she was just sleeping, I had to hope, that’s all I had. My other puppies oblivious of the things that were happening. A tall walker came and gave me some food, I took it. The small tall walker had seen my puppies and gave me some water, she sat and comforted me while I mourned my, now three, dead puppies. I she named them. Pluto, my first, the biggest puppy, Neptune, the small black one, and Jupiter, the one who had the biggest fight, but the smallest body. I didn’t know what these names meant, but I’m glad they had a name on their passing.
Bear didn’t care whatsoever about my puppies. Neither did my father. I now treat them exactly how they treat my brother. I chase bear away, my mother and brother help me attack him. I feel no pity for them. The tallwalker took me inside the den, preventing any other puppies from passing and letting me have a rest. The tall walkers kept two of my ten left, then gave the rest away. They had let me say goodbye. One of the two puppies had went with the small tall walker that had comforted me. I knew he’d be safe. And the other, of my choosing stayed with me and became part of the pack. I named her Moonflower, but the tall walkers call her diamond. She has earned a high rank.
(please excuse all my mistakes and grammar stuff, but I’m using a phone to write. This is based on a true story, my dog Sapphire had her puppies last night. She lost three, we’re planning on bringing her inside and I’m keeping a red male husky and I’ve named him mars. I was going to keep little Jupiter, but she had gone too fast. She was too small. Bears real name is Zeus and he’s a pittbull. The thing is Sapphires puppy’s are inbred. We tried her best to keep her in during her heat season but she was an outside dog and then had bred with her dad teddy. We all feel so bad about these puppies and we tried with great effort to prevent the inbreeding. Please don’t bother me for this I’m sad her three puppies had died. But writing this messy piece made me feel better. But at least we aren’t over crowding because we do have too many dogs, two new huge letters of puppies a pregnant cat and three other cats, a turtle, two guinea pigs and six other people in this house, but we do have around two acres of land, not much but it’s outside. I hope all of you guys are safe during this pandemic.)
