You know that list of childhood movies you watched growing up- and you watched them so many times that you memorized everything that happened- but, since you were so young, you didn't comprehend every word they were saying? Like, you got the jist of what was going on based on facial expressions and other ways, but you completely miss some phrases that change your entire view on the movies?
I'm sitting here watching The Jungle Book (the original) for like, the 100th time- always just thought Shere Khan was just messed up or something and wanted to kill people for no reason. Like any other villain it seemed.
Until I heard the phrase, as Mooglie was taken away from the wolves- Bagheera says Shere Khan wants to kill him, and when he asks why, he says something along the lines of, "Cause he can't let you grow to be a grown man. That's one more man with a gun in the jungle."
...and I'm like...
...oh....
...I understand now...
*mindblown*
