My sister just went off to college and I haven't been able to stop crying since I got home, which was an hour ago. The college is only an hour away but I'm going to miss her so much.
Plus, I feel like I'm going to be doing everything around the house: taking care of our pets, doing stuff for my dad, going out to shop for groceries etc etc and I honestly don't think I'll be able to handle all of that basically alone since my little sister hates doing a lot of it and my mom doesn't really do much in general. I'm terrified.

awh i'm sorry ): i'm sure your sister will always be there to talk to you when you need it though! things are always tough when a sibling leaves - the good news is you'll gradually adjust to it, and it'll seem almost natural eventually. feel better soon <3

I know she'll be there for me always, and we can talk and I can visit her, but I just feel like it's going to be very difficult here because, along with me, we basically carried the family.
I wish I applied for college at the same time she did, but I haven't even done anything for college.
Thank you though.

well i definitely feel
i'm the youngest of five, so over the years I've slowly watched all my siblings leave the house one by one. my sister was the latest to go, and she and I are very close. So it's hard basically becoming the only child after growing up in a crowded house, where 3 boys shared one room, 2 girls another, and all five shared one bathroom.
It gets easier. Yeah, the added chores suck, but after awhile you start to appreciate some of the benefits. Never have to share the bathroom again. Eat all the ice cream and nobody notices. Nobody touching your stuff anymore except Mom.
It's definitely hard at first, and it'll always be tough sometimes. But you can get through it. At least your sister is only an hour away-- mine is nearly 4 hours gone.
