Kalvin fixed the girl with an unimpressed look, his piercing blue eyes glaring up at her. “Well that’s why I said to watch where you’re going, so you do see people,” he stated rudely, arms folded. He had looked both ways before starting across the lawn, and in his opinion, that gave him the upper hand here, since all things considering, he actually had tried to watch where he was going.
However that’s when he paused, actually looking at the older girl. “...You’re not from around here,” he stated plainly. It was pretty clear to him that she wasn’t as finely dressed as everyone else at this event - himself included - and quite frankly, she just didn’t seem all that much like the other teens here. ”Were you even invited?” He questioned, letting out a small chuckle.
He was pretty sure he already knew the answer to that question.

“What does that matter to you?” Juliana said, Lee hiding behind her a little. “What should be mattering right now is how rude you’re being.” She snapped. “Besides, what if I’m not from around here? Is that a bad thing?” She asked.

Kalvin responded to her snaps with a crooked grin, letting out a small, impish laugh. “What matters is that if you weren’t invited, you shouldn’t be here,” he retorted, not even phased by any of her comments. “Lucky for you, I’m trying to avoid all the adults here, so I don’t plan on telling on you,” not that he had any problems snitching on people, serves them right for not hiding whatever it was they were doing better. However right now, it was either “get cheeks pinched by Carol” or “let these two people just do whatever they wanted to do” and that just seemed like the better option to him right now.
“Now, if you excuse me, I have people to avoid and social interactions to not participate in, so...” Making it obvious that he wanted to pass, Kalvin stepped to the side and gestured with his head for the girl and the younger boy to move out of his way so he could leave.

Julianna was fine leaving. But Lee suddenly worked up enough courage to ask, “who are you trying to avoid? We’re trying to get away from the crowds to.” He said softly. Julianna gave him a small look.

Vivian was already getting bored. These parties were mostly for adults, she thought, since they stood around talking and acting all important until everyone went home. It was kind of stupid, caring so much about what the other families thought about you. What she loved about her parents were that they didn't care too much. Vivian looked up, pulled out of her thoughts as someone walked over and spoke to her. She didn't recognize him. He was older than her, probably her oldest sister's age, and he was dressed in a pretty blue suit. The color was very nice, she didn't even notice that it wasn't as fancy as what some other people were wearing. "Hello," She smiled up at him, thankful for the distration. Hopefully he wasn't going to say something like where's your parents, you can't be running around on your own. She wasn't a baby. Besides, her mom said she can do whatever she wanted as long as it wasn't against the Ziegler's rules and she didn't cause trouble. "I'm Vivian." She introduced herself.
Kinsleigh leaned back, closing her eyes and enjoying the feel of the sun against her bare skin. She stayed like that for a few minutes before her eyes blinked open and she turned her head to look around at her surroundings. Most of the people were still in the house, on the deck, or in the front yard, so the backyard beside the pool was still her preferred place to be. She'll probably be here until the party was over. She noticed Kenneth and Karlotta Quinn were standing nearby, and it looked like the siblings were having a conversation. Of course, Kinsleigh didn't know what the boy was saying, because she didn't know sign language, and she was too far away to hear the girl's hushed voice. Pushing herself off of the ledge of the pool and into the water, Kinsleigh shivered pleasantly against the cold for a second before it got comfortable. She waded closer to where the Quinn's were standing. "Hey," She greeted, adding a wave in Kenneth's direction before focusing on Karlotta. "You know you two don't have to stand there looking awkward. The water feels really good." For emphasis she leaned back and floated on the water, swimming backwards a couple feet and splashing the water upward with a couple kicks of her feet.

Joseph smiled a little, “I’m Joseph” he said politely. “I’m sorry I don’t mean to I tried or be a creep or anything by approaching you.” He said with a small laugh, “I was just looking for someone to talk to.” He said simply. “Everyone being so formal and proper is already getting to me.” He admitted, “but you seem more.. relaxed.” He gestured you her outfit as he said that last bit.

Kalvin gestured vaguely around him as if that answered the question. “Everyone,” he started, pausing for a second before he added: “Mostly Carol.” Not that they would know who she was, since he still doubted they were even part of this very elite neighborhood here. “Why are you even here if you’re on the down low anyways?” He asked, placing his hands on his hips as he looked the two of them over with a furrowed brow.
He was only here because he got dragged along, if he had if his way, he’d still be at home, working on his latest science experiment or helping the triplets - who still weren’t here yet, from what he knew - with their latest scheme. But instead he was here because the old jogging ladies were mean or something like that, Kalvin still didn’t fully understand it, all he knew was that given the choice, he wouldn’t be here.

Kirby froze in her spot when Kinsleigh spoke up, turning her attention away from her brother and to the other girl. She knew Kinsleigh of course, most people in the neighborhood knew each other and Kinsleigh was the Graves kid that was around Kendra’s and the triplets ages, right in between them if she remembered correctly. Kirby hadn’t spoken to her often, but she seemed nice enough from what Kirby knew.
Pausing for a moment, she cast a glance back over at Kenneth, then tried to look up at her hat.
Getting in the pool could be risky with Bartholomew here, and Kenneth had made a pretty good point about the potential reactions that people might have...but by now it would probably be more rude to just stand there all awkward and stuff. So, Kirby sent Kinsleigh a smile and took off her shoes, entering the pool with her hat still on. She had taken off her sundress earlier and was now wearing a rather simple, one piece blue swimming suit with dolphins on it. ”I was just making sure Kenneth wanted to come in, he’s a bit shy,” she explained and Kenneth glared over at her.
Kirby chose to ignore it and instead looked over at Kinsleigh. “So, I think-“ she was cut off by a loud croaking coming from her hat. Kirby’s face went pale. “That um...that was my stomach,” she lied quickly and Kenneth face palmed himself.

“Because our brother wanted to come.” Julianna spoke up, “ and I came along to see if anyone here was actually good looking or if it was just their money that made them attractive to others.” She joked, though it had some snap to it still. “Who’s Carol?”
Lee interrupted his sister, “is she mean?” He asked. “I bet I could scare her off if you need me to.” He forgot that she twelve and only 5’0”.

Vivian shook her head quickly. She didn't mind his company, and as long as he wasn't going to tell her what to do she would actually enjoyed having him there. It was better than standing there alone. "It's okay." She told him with a bright smile. She looked down at her outfit then back up at him curiously. "Yeah, I hate dressing up in dresses and stuff." She agreed, once again focusing on his dark blue suit. "Why are you dressed up then? I like the color."
Kinsleigh nodded understandingly as Karlotta answered her, lowering herself into the pool so she was emerged up to her chin. She was a little put off that the younger girl had entered the pool with her hat on. Wasn't it going to get all wet, or fall off? Oh well, whatever floats her boat. Her brother, Nicholas, was a little shy and socially awkward too, so Kenneth didn't bother her. He could just hang out next to the pool if he didn't want to get in. Besides, she didn't talk to the two younger teenagers a lot, so she didn't really care what they did. She just wanted some company. Kinsleigh began to look around, taking note who else was around the pool, but her head snapped back in Karlotta's direction when she heard the strange noise. They stared at each other for a few seconds as the other girl's face getting visibly pale before she stated that it was her stomach growling. She thought it was unlikely. It didn't sound like a stomach, besides her belly was emerged in the water and the noise sounded like it came from the upper half of her body, like her mouth. Maybe she was messing with her? Or maybe she passed gas and was embarrassed. A smile slowly crept onto her face and she tried to hold it in but within a few moments laughter was tumbling out of her mouth. "That was your stomach?" She laughed, stumbling a few paces backward in the water as she almost doubled over. "I'm sorry, it sounded like a frog!"

Joseph smiled a little at the comment, “why thank you.” He said, “it was my father’s actually. I wanted to wear it in his honor.” Which was true... He just didn’t mention the fact that he had worn the tux so he would look like he actually fit in with the crowd. “Why? Is it too much?” He asked, worrying that it was and he over did it.

Vivian shook her head quickly. "No, not at all. You look good." She assured him with another bright smile. "I was just thinking, since all this formal-ness is getting to you, you didn't have to dress up." She didn't think about how people might think it's weird if people are showing up to this fancy party in non-fancy clothes, because she herself didn't care that much.

Joseph shrugged, “I didn’t have the confidence to under dress like you tonight.” He explained. “If I did I would totally be coming in shorts and a button down.” He said with a small laugh. That was a lie. Joseph would never sneak into one of these parties and dress down. It would obviously make him stick out like a sore thumb. And his button downs and shorts weren’t the best quality by any means either.
