Hey there! It's been a while since I've done any warriors rping, but being home with my cats has given me a lot of inspiration. It has me thinking--how fun would it be if we made a clan where people were encouraged to base their characters off cats that they currently own, had in the past, or know in real life? Of course you would be allowed to age them up or down, change certain elements of their appearances, or whatever. They would simply act as muses? Personally, living in rural america, I've had quite a few cats in my day, and I think it would be fun to draw inspiration from them.
That's mainly what I've been thinking about. Other than that, I am still formulating ideas about what the clan would be like. This is a little weird, but I was thinking maybe we could play off the idea of rebirth and the clan could live in a forest that once burned down? So there could be old, blackened trees as well as fresh green life. Maybe we could call it something like Phoenixclan or Ghostclan or Emberclan? Maybe it was once too clans, but after the fire, they merged into one? Let me know if you have ideas!
I'm thinking average writing length would be about 2-3 paragraphs. Nothing too excessive. I have more time on my hands with quarantine, so it'll just give us something fun to do! I'd love to collaborate if people would like to bounce off ideas.

This forest was once vastly different. Our elders still tell stories of the dark canopy, the long, wispy vines. It was an ancient place, and a mysterious one. In this forest lived two clans instead of one, and they were constantly at war. But life has changed in these woods, and most among us know the forest only as it is now: a world of new growth. Now bright green saplings have begun to gain height on the old, blackened trees. And with the fire came wildflowers, which blanket the forest floor each spring and summer. The meadows are alive with the sounds of many new creeks, and the buzzing of honeybees. This land is one that has changed, just as we have changed. Now from two clans, one has risen, Ghostclan. And all that happened before is but a memory, one which echoes softly between the rapidly growing trees.

Welcome, friends, to Ghostclan! This is a traditional clan in many senses. The territory is mostly forested, with the occasional clearing, meadow, and pond. Their members feast mostly on mice, voles, and small birds, though a few warriors are brave skilled enough to catch a fish or two! The territory is nestled between a range of rocky, tall mountains. For that reason, it is rather easy to protect from invaders. Two-legs are rare, though they occasionally pass through on the trail that runs along the creek.
There are two important things that make Ghostclan different from many other clans. Firstly, it once was comprised of two different factions (known as Gladeclan and Ashclan). About nine years ago, however, a wild fire ripped through the canyon and scorched the land. The cats of Gladeclan and Ashclan were forced to flee into the high country. Their stay there was difficult, as there was little food to eat above timberline. The two clans were forced to put aside their differences and work together in order to survive. Since then, the two clans have been forged into one. It wasn't long before they were able to move back down into the valley, though the landscape of their territory is forever changed. What once were tall, green trees are now blackened, scorched frames. Enough time has passed that new trees have begun to come in, mostly delicate aspen. One benefit of the fire is that it gave renewed life to the soil, which means the forest floor is often thickly blanketed with colorful flowers and grasses.
The second important thing to note about Ghostclan involves you, dear joiner. Most of the cats in this roleplay are inspired by real life cats that once coexisted with our roleplayers. Joiners are encouraged to base their characters off of cats that they own currently, owned in childhood, or the cats of their friends/family. Of course creative liberties are encouraged. For example, you are welcome to age your characters up or down depending on what rank you'd like them to have. And don't forget to give them warrior names! The details of characters will be explained more fully under the "joining" section. The object is to imagine what our beloved cats might be like in a wild setting. It is meant to be a fun exercise, and you're welcome to be as creative as you like (even if that means making a character based on a cat you only encountered once).

General Area Ghostclan exists in the foothills of low, forested mountains. The majority of their land is tucked into the bend of two swells of mountain, like a bowl. Through the center of that bowl runs a deep creek. The land is rich and full of life. Ancient deciduous trees create thick columns that reach toward a thick canopy of green. The undergrowth is thick and often difficult to traverse in certain parts of the territory.
Notable Landmarks ★ Willow Creek - the clan's main source of water is a creek running through the middle of the territory from higher ground. It does have fish, although the count since the fire is a bit lower and Ghostclan doesn't fish much anyway. It widens as it reaches smoother ground, and near camp there is a shallow pool where cats desperate to cool off sometimes go in the summer. Over it hang a number of large willow trees. ★ Eaglestar's Clearing - this small clearing in the direction opposite the creek is also but a short walk from camp. It was created by the falling of many burned trees, between which is a sandy spot clear of most vegetation. It is here where the apprentices and their mentors come to train. ★ Lookout rock - up near the edge of the territory, an outcrop of rocks jut from the side of the hill. The largest is called "lookout rock" because from there one can see the whole territory. It is a bit of a climb, though, and apprentices often complain about being forced to go. ★ The Pond - Creating the bottom edge of the territory is a pond. It is quite shallow, and it is often swarmed by mosquitoes. Dedicated hunters come here when land prey is running low. Otherwise it is mostly ignored. ★ The Canyon - the steepest part of the territory is up straight through the middle, where the creek has been carving away for longer than time began. As the incline grows more and more steep, the rocks become more slippery and jagged. In order to reach the top of the mountain, clanmates must take one of the two paths around the sides. ★ The Herb Hollow - Up the creek a few minutes from camp, is a guarded hollow where the Medicine cats go to get most of their herbs. The vegetation there is quite overgrown, and it is also a quiet place where some moody novices go to let of steam. ★ The Meadow - The meadow is in the northern part of the territory. There, the trees are sparse, but wildflowers carpet the ground where they lay. It is a good place to find prey, particularly birds. ★ The Ruins - The ruins are on the incline close to the edge of the territory. They're mostly a scattered clump of block-like stones, the tallest of which make a broken arch. It has long since been abandoned by two-legs. ★ StarTree - Technically StarTree is not on Ghostclan territory, but it is important to not nonetheless. On the edge of the plateau of the moors, is a pond in which the center lives a massive willow tree. Healers and kings/queens go to speak with Starclan by crossing the stepping stones to its trunk, where they can sit and look into the rippling reflections.
Camp Camp is almost directly in the middle of the "bowl". It is a short walk from the where the stream runs slowest. It is there, as well as along the edges of the territory, where the forest is best protected. Below the towering columns of the oaks are the smaller, prickly pines and the bend of the creek.
The Leader's Den: the leader goes to rest in the hollowed trunk of a very thick old oak tree. It no longer has branches, and it was struck by lightning so many times that the top half snapped off. To make announcements, the leader jumps up onto "lightning tree". The Warriors' Den: A large, low juniper tree forms the largest den in the clan. It just out into the center of camp, which makes it more of a horse-shoe shape than an oval. The tree itself is low to the ground, really more of a bush, but it provides thick cover from the elements. The Apprentices' Den: All of the apprentices sleep together in the roots of an oak tree, on the side of camp nearest to the entrance. The den is quite small, but it is warm. The Nursery: On the opposite side of camp, around the bend created by the juniper tree, is the nursery. It was made by joining the branches of a marigold bush with the tall pine against which it leans. The den is comfortable, and the tree provides good protection. The Elders' Den: Beside the Nursery is a smaller den, nestled into a small hill of boulders. The den is between the boulders, and is very dark and quite small. But the elders seem to like it because it's insulated. The Medicine Cat's Den: Next to the Lightning Tree is the healers' den. More accurately, the fallen top half of the Lightning Tree forms the small, comfortable space. Its scraggly branches have been woven together to form a thick lean-to. Vines grow over the entrance, and inside the bark is used to store herbs.

Here are a few things to keep in mind before joining:
Expectations ★ Literacy - this is a semi-advanced roleplay, meaning I expect joiners to write about 2-3 paragraphs per post. It also means there are certain expectations for the effort put into characters (meaning making them flawed, unique beings rather than stock characters). ★ Forum Rules - please follow them! ★ Godmodding/spotlighting - try not to write what another person's character does without the permission of their creator. ★ Plotting - please come ready to contribute ideas and plots! The more drama the better! ★ Realism - please no powers or unrealistic appearances for your characters, please. Obviously, as mentioned previously, these cats are based on once living ones. Creativity is encourages, however there are other roleplays for powers and special abilities.

After checking to be sure your idea rank is open, you're welcome to join! As previously stated, the idea is to base your characters on cats you know in real life. This isn't mandatory, but I think it would be a fun way to interact with cats who have special places in our hearts. Also as previously noted, feel free to take creative liberties with your tributes. For example, if your cat is currently quite old, but you'd like to imagine them as a warrior or apprentice, you're obviously welcome to age them down. Also feel free to change aspects of their appearance and give them fun histories. Again, this is a creative exercise and the point is to have fun. These are more just guidelines to give you ideas. Also, I've created a "tribute" section if you want to tell us more about the cat your character is based on. This is optional, but I thought it might be a good idea.
Here's the joining form!
Character Name ★ Age (in moons) ★ Gender ★ Rank ★ Physical Description (however long you'd like, preferably a short paragraph)
Personality Description (again, up to you)
Tribute: (who is this character based on? tell us about them!)
