- the haze -
For as long as the cats have lived in the shadow of the mountains, they have communicated with spirits at the summit. Near the top a dense fog wraps itself around the peak, so dense that after a few steps inside cats loose all sense of direction.
To communicate with the Eternal Lights, medicine cats do not need to fall asleep. No instead they simple wander into the smoke. The spirits will find them, not the other way around.
When the Eternal Light appear, at first their shape is unrecognizable. But what starts off as a blob of smoke quickly forms into the frame of a cat, a soft glowing light at the center of the body. These spirits speak in metaphor, their voices muffled as if the smoke around them is hushing their voices and muting their throats.
When receiving visions and omens, it is not uncommon for structures and figures to form out of the smoke around a medicine cat- a live action play for the living to watch. Because of this, visual components are key players in prophecies, and often the interpretation of the images shown are more important than the words actually spoken.
Medicine cats meet together at the summit every halfmoon, and wander into the Haze together. While they eventually branch off- called away by different spirits, they always exit together at the same exact time- the break of dawn. Because direction is fuzzy in the Haze, it is hard to say whether the medicine cats simply get turned around and wander back out the same way they came- or if the spirits themselves transport them back to where they entered after the night it over. - clan borders + major players -

Amberfire arrives at the border and looks around. She couldn't see any cats from Summitclan near by. She looks stares straight ahead wondering if the Summitclan cats were still asleep or just getting their patrols. She wondered how those cats could live so far up. Don't they get get cold? She could never live so far up the mountain. She preferred her home in Riftclan. Starchaser

Amberfire with Rosepaw at the Border Starchaser"Not yet it seems." Amberfire commented twitching her whiskers. She takes this time to scent mark the border on their side to remind Summitclan that this was their turf. "Sorry, we didn't get a chance to see any Summitclan cats." Amberfire mewed once she was done. "They might still be asleep or trying to get their heads out of the clouds." She joked. That was a really bad joke but it was the only thing she had. Telling jokes were not her strong suit.
