No, not really. For me it's basically normal.

Lucky! I work full time and the structure of my job has changed. I work at a humane society and we closed to the public, now doing appointment only. Shopping is different, most places around me are closed, and I think in the next few days my city will see a huge jump in COVID cases, causing even more panic.

People where I live aren't taking it seriously even though we've 8 deaths from COVID-19. My daily life is still the same because I can still complete my classes since they were already online. In the grocery stores around my area, they aren't wiping down anything. They're not taking any precautions like only allowing a certain amount of people into the store. I don't think the companies in my city realize how fast the virus can spread, or maybe they do and they just care more about making money.

Heard someone describe it as that same weird vibe as the break between Christmas and New Years

to be honest, most people don't have anything to worry about. People with previous health issues like lung issues or auto immune issues are the ones to worry, as well as older folks. For most people, it's pretty much just a cold with a little bit of a fever. The effects of the disease is blown out of proportion by the media, which I have theories on that I won't talk about. What will happen, however, is COVID 19 will end up be just another member of the flu season. We'll come up with vaccines for it in a few months, but the biggest issue with the virus is how contagious it is during asymptomatic periods.

I'm out here in Washington where everything is shut down and even in my rural town far from the epicenter we got shortages of cleaning supplies and TP at the Safeway and nobody's working. Been holed up in my house with my family since I was lucky enough to get out of Seattle without being infected. University has started back up but all the classes are online and in the big lectures some absolute geniuses of comedy are drawing swastikas on the whiteboard because professors cant figure out how to turn off global annotations. Everything is just kinda weird, like it's completely normal and yet utterly absurd at the same time. I don't even know what day of the week it is half the time. Feels like everybody's holding their breath or something, idk.
On the plus side though, Persona 5 Royal is pretty awesome- had the new ambush theme stuck in my head for the past few days and it's definitely contributing to my slow but inevitable loss of sanity lol

It's not just people with chronic conditions or the old who are at risk/dying. 20% of hospitalizations have been for those between 20-44 years of age. Young people who aren't taking appropriate measures to protect themselves are taking away hospital beds from those who urgently need them. And when cases begin to peak it will have deadly consequences. Also, it's not a normal flu - those don't take up every hospital bed in a single city.

I'm actually pretty fortunate that this has not impacted my life in a major way. Classes are online now instead of in person, which kind of sucks, but I can live with an online quarter. I also can't see my friends in person, but we can talk on discord and play board games on tabletop sim, so it's really not that bad. I honestly have it pretty good compared to many others. I'm really thankful that Animal Crossing came out soon after the forced quarantine in my area because it helps simulate the feeling of going outside and seeing people as well as giving me something to measure time by.
