I'm also in a bit of a reading slump which sucks... Although, two weeks ago I finished the Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb, and that did inspire me quite a lot. I want to read the rest of her books but the only problem is that I have the second/thirds books in the other trilogies... but not the first!

That has been happening to me as well but I found that if I forced myself to write even if I'm unmotivated, that I can actually get into the zone and write at least a half a chapter if not more a day.

The only issue is, I've been sort-of doing that and everything I've produced has been bad. The characters are stiff and the story is stagnant, and it's only the first four chapters!

Well you can always go back and edit it. Maybe plan the story out a little? I love making character sheets and it helps me get ideas for what can happen in the story, so maybe try that?
