Can we talk about how gorgeous these names are?!
I have loved Meadow for years. It is easily in my top five prefixes. It is such a beautiful, simple name that works well with a number of suffixes. I'm a bit sad that they only used it twice, and both times it was some minor character from the distant past.
Glade is an entirely new prefix. For those who don't know, a glade is essentially a rocky moor with thin vegetation in higher altitudes. A very simple, cute name that is incredibly versatile. We're due for another kit boom, so I wouldn't be surprised if they use it by the end of the arc.
Blue is more plain, but is equally versatile. And I think Bluestar is still the sole bearer of the name. I wouldn't mind seeing it used again, along with some other OS prefixes.
Although I'm glad that Squirrelflight finally came to appreciate what she has, I'm still a bit bummed that we never got this litter. Here's the hoping that at least one of these prefixes are used in the future.

I LOVED those names, I was really disappointed they weren't used by the end, hopefully they will be used soon

Meadow is seriously such an underrated prefix! It might be doubtful that “Blue” as a prefix would be used again, seeing as Bluestar was such a major and impactful character in the past, but I hope it happens!

what colours would you make thm?? Bluekit - Dark ginger she-cat with blue eyes (there's no way Squirrelflight and Bramblestar could ever have a blue kit, but this series rarely follows proper genetics, so eh) Meadowkit - Dark ginger tabby she-cat with darker stripes and green eyes Gladekit - Dark brown tabby tom with amber eyes

Males get their color gene from their mother, and females from both parents.

Didn't know that! Thanks, guess you learn something new every day. You're welcome I was really surprised when I first learned about that too. I was curious as to why my brown tabby had two grey tabby sons, but it makes sense, because brown (actually black tabbies) and grey cats both carry the black color gene, the grey is just a diluted form of it. However, BOTH parents have to carry the dilute gene to have any dilute kits, male or female

I love those names, too, especially Bluekit and Meadowkit. It's really sweet that Squirrelflight would have named a kit after Bluestar.

Partially true. While red tabby is sex linked to some extent, in the there are more males, there are female ginger tabbies. I meant like, say the mother is tortoiseshell (meaning she carries both the black and red color gene) and the father carries the red color gene. All the sons will either have the black color gene or the red color gene (taking the color gene from their mothers) and the daughters will either carry the red color gene, or both the red and the black color genes, but no daughters in that litter will carry just the black color gene. In another case, if the mother carries the red color gene, and the father carries the black color gene, then all the sons will be ginger, and all the daughters will be tortoiseshells. If the mother carries the red gene, and the father carries the red gene, then ALL of the kits will be red. It's easier for males to be ginger, because they only need one copy of the ginger gene, whereas females need two.

Kite- is valid prefix imo, its a bird of prey. Myrtle- and Bay-, are pushing it.
