HERE WE BEGIN
-; A picturesque, though gothic, castle on a cliff overlooking a dark sea. The walls are worn with age and the ocean is never at peace, viciously attacking the crumbling stone and any who seek to sail across it. Day brings a beautiful wellspring of life in the form of flowering plants, crops, fruit from the plentiful orchards and vegetables from the fields. Night brings their sudden and violent death, nigh impenetrable mists, and horrifying creatures that pound at the castle gates and terrify the neighboring towns.
This is where you wake, with only the vaguest idea of who- and what- you are. Perhaps you're disoriented for a moment- Until you discover the carefully bound book lying at your side. It will not tell you all you need to know, but you will learn what you must do. This may not be your world, but it's up to you to save it.

I'm not actually sure, but I hope it's fun~ Basically, we are the physical incarnations of various characters from stories- Whether they be Sinbad, Sleeping Beauty or The Wizard Of Oz- The books are our Tales and are connected to us, giving us magic, weapons, and abilities connected to who we once were. The world we've awoken in is a typical medieval fantasy one, but is currently assaulted by the 'Land Of Reason', whose inhabitants can destroy magic and are intent on 'breaking' this world. Creatively named Arcadia. Ahem It is our mission to prevent this, of course, despite the general confusion of being thrown head first into a magical war.
We are- or will become- somewhat organized into designated roles as more of a legitimate force but for now we only have the Wordsmith, the person who 'woke' us, to rally behind.
Despite appearances, I intend for this to be very plot-driven and include lots of action and adventure. War and much of what comes with it will be one of the central focuses- That and creating a worldsaving team a la The Avengers~ The fairytale element is fun but I'm not trying to be in any way similar to Ever After High or anything of the like. ^^'
-; As this is a semi-jump in, I only need your Tale and Magic/Weaponry, everything else is optional. The latter is required so that I can okay your abilities and make sure that everything makes sense and isn't too OP. As for character creation, please keep in mind that royalty will likely be in a captain's or commander's position. For this reason I plan to limit the number- So only create a Prince/Princess if you'd like a character to be somewhat in charge~ Though everyone answers to the Wordsmith, of course.]
