I just realized that two very important aspects of a medicine cat's job aren't actually in either the Warrior Code or the Medicine Cat Code.
The first is that a Warrior can't attack a medicine cat. The second is that a medicine cat can visit other territories without permission.
These are apparently so ingrained into Clan culture that every cat follows these rules, despite them not being actual rules. How do you think they came to be, and why didn't they make it into the Codes?

Hmm. Perhaps a medicine cat had to travel through another Clan's territory to find a herb or go someplace. They met an enemy patrol, tried to explain why they were there, but they were attacked and killed. Other Clans/meddies were outraged, and created the unwritten laws?
