[[ Rowanblaze is such a pretty cat omg. Yeah I prefer explaining through posts for context because it’s so much easier and it adds to the roleplay. I can’t think of anything else honestly. ThunderClan forest territory sounds good to me! ]]

Blaze ;; Location ;; Pansy ;; Sand ;;
The rain clouds overhead were just starting to break, cascading fat droplets over the camp and taking mere heartbeats to soak into Rowanblaze's skin. He stared in disbelief at his leader, Hailstar, and felt all words catch in his throat. E-exiled? His yellow gaze floated around the clearing, seeing the mingled colours of the cats that all had one thing in common: grief and hatred blazing in their eyes. Grief for Ashtail who had been murdered, and hatred for Rowanblaze who was deemed the murderer. No mater his pleas, no matter his begging, the clan refused to see the truth. "Hailstar I swear-" he began, his voice hoarse with emotion. Can they not see how much I grieve too? He thought desperately. Hailstar growled, fury burning in every movement he made. "I have made up my mind! You are a traitor and you're no longer welcome here. If anyone sees you on our territory by dawn tomorrow, they'll attack you. Go. Now." There was a warning to Hailstar's voice that made Rowanblaze know that all matter of discussion was over and the decision was final.
Turning tail, he felt numb as he moved slowly towards the camp entrance. He was too afraid to make eye contact with any of his clanmates for fear of the hatred in their depths. I swear! I wasn't me! He wanted to yowl. At the entrance he paused - which caused some nearby cats to hiss at him - and he glanced up to Thornstrike. Just like everyone else, Thornstrike's gaze was filled with anger and hate, but something more that Rowanblaze couldn't pinpoint. Looking at his old friend, Rowanblaze whispered, "Thornstrike please, you know I didn't ki-"
Thornstrike bared his fangs and growled. The grey tom was much larger and stronger than Rowanblaze despite them being only a few moons apart. Ducking his head fearfully, Rowanblaze rushed past Thornstrike and out of the camp. His legs were trembling so hard he could barely walk. He had no idea where he was going or what direction to start going in, he'd never left the camp without a reason. Now it was no longer his camp, and he'd never be able to come back. The rain pounded down on his body, his fur was now plastered to his sides, making the usually fluffy tom look small and vulnerable. StarClan help me! He wanted to yowl but his throat seized. He was alone. The thought that even StarClan might have abandoned him sent shivers down his spine. Placing one foot hesitantly forward, Rowanblaze started to walk aimlessly. What other choice did he have? Under the cover of trees the rain didn't beat on his sides so hard and their rhythmic pitter-patter was strangely soothing after the turmoil of wailing that had sounded in camp when he'd been accused of murdering their deputy. I need to find shelter...
That night, Rowanblaze had found 'shelter' among the curve of some tree roots. As the sun blinked over the horizon he woke as a shivering mess. The rain had fallen intermittently all night and now it was a drizzle, cascading gently down like a first snow in leafbare. His stomach growled with hunger but he was reluctant to move. Cold, hungry, and heartbroken, he only wanted to wail like a helpless kit. But he was a warrior, he couldn't do that! Resting his chin on his paws, he looked longingly into the forest. I swear it wasn't me... he thought feebly.

Pansy accompanied by Rowanblaze Lying in the depths of a fern bush, Pansy's copper eyes flitted open as she felt the dew of the night's rain fall onto her bi-colored pelt. Grumpily, she flicked the fern fronds aside before slithering out of the bush quietly. She wasn't fond of sleeping on the edge of the forest, but her former nest was slick with mud. She parted her maw to scent the air seeing that there was no time to hunt like the present. After all, she had to avoid the clan cats who lived in the forest ahead of her. If they caught her on their territory, she was good as gone.
Though she wasn't famished, Pansy hadn't had a decent meal in a few sunrises. Her stomach was in knots since she saw a horror flash before her eyes. Dark grey fur, claws, fangs, scarlet blood, and a final yowl... She knew what she watched, frozen in place, was a killing. A murder, maybe? All she knew is that the two cats looked awfully familiar with each other and only one of them came back victoriously from the bloodbath.
Shaking her head free of the trauma, the black and white she-cat scented another feline. Though the scent was partly drowned out by the rain, she knew this part of the territory like the back of her paw. Someone was here and she was hoping that it wasn't a clan cat. She wasn't in the mood to put up a fight nor was she feeling strong enough to do so. With a shaky sigh, she padded stealthily into the direction of the stench. It wasn't long after that she saw a sandy ginger cat resting in the curves of some tree roots. She ducked behind a bramble bush before investigating further. He doesn't look familiar, but that stench is definitely from a clan, she thought, suspicious of the tom. If he was scouting out rogues, Pansy would have to run like the wind to escape him. But there was a problem-- the look on his face didn’t appear hostile or focused… it was more longing and almost lonely. Could she really afford a chance by approaching the ginger feline?
Pansy slid a white paw forward, purposefully stepping on a lone twig which made a loud crack! Immediately. Making sure her claws were unsheathed and teeth were barred, she then darted out of the bramble brush and towards the tree where the tom lied. She stood not far from him, bramble thorns and leaves prickling her fur. Though he looked harmless, she knew that he was a clan cat and she wasn’t going to trust him just yet. Asking the obvious question, however, wouldn’t be too mousebrained of her, right?
"What are you doing here?" the rogue asked, tipping her black and white head to one side. Concern shone in her copper eyes. "Don’t you have a home? Maybe a sheltered place with a big group of cats and a warm nest? Sleeping underneath a tree like that when the downpour comes isn’t the best idea."

Rowanblaze ;; Edge of territory ;; Pansy ;; Sand ;;
Rowanblaze was too distracted to take note of his immediate surroundings. His mind was flickering to that day. It seemed like moons ago that Thornstrike had caught him as he went to go to hunt. The great grey tom had just finished a meeting with Hailstar in the leaders den, so when he asked Rowanblaze to go fetch Sagewhisker from the border Rowanblaze suspected it had something to do with an omen. Unsuspecting, Rowanblaze was keen to help his clanmate, so he had pelted through the forest to fetch the medicine cat. He remembered feeling confused when Sagewhisker was not at the border. And the horror when he saw...
The crack nearby sent the ginger tom back into reality. He raised his sodden head quickly and stared ahead, his ears swiveling as they tried to pinpoint the sound. Have they come to chase me off? Maybe I didn't get far enough from the border! A bramble bush trembled as a black and white shape darted out, ending just a tail length in front of him. Rowanblaze scrambled to his paws, bits of wet leaves and mud were stuck to his side where he'd laid in the tree roots, but he hadn't a moment to shake it off. A stranger was standing before him and he suspected he was on their territory. There were an abundance of rogues that lived outside of the clan boundaries. Oh StarClan, how far do I have to go to be safe? He wanted to wail.
Yet the she-cat - though defensive - didn't appear to want to immediately start fighting. In fact, when she spoke, he thought he could sense concern. Rowanblaze hesitated, unsure on how to react. If he were a patrol with his clan he would chase this she-cat away without a second thought, but now he wasn't part of his clan. The thought crushed his heart and he looked down at the ground, which was muddy underpaw. "I-I don't know." He murmured somberly. He immediately recognised when she spoke of cats living together - the clans, he supposed that rogues wouldn't have names nor knowledge of the clans. Glancing up shyly, he shrugged his shoulders, "I did have a home with them, b-but not anymore." His words sounded choked before he gave his drenched pelt a shake. He couldn't stand there and act so weak! Outside of the clan, he would have no one to rely on! "I'm just passing through. I had to find somewhere quickly, so I'm sorry if I bothered you. I don't want to fight or anything," he meowed more clearly now, trying to sound more confident but a waver in his voice gave him away. In the end, he let out a feeble sneeze. Perhaps the rain and cold had gotten to him... but he didn't know what herbs to use! He wasn't a medicine cat!

Pansy - accompanied by Rowanblaze - - edge of territory - [aether ] It appeared to Pansy that this tom was in terrible shape. She hadn't interacted with a cat from a group in many, many moons, but something about the ginger feline made her heart ache. His sodded pelt and somber tone were something she expected of a lost kit, like the ones she had seen moons ago along the Twolegplace. Shaking out her pelt, the black and white she-cat listened to him eagerly. Not anymore? she thought, unsure of what he meant by no longer being with his group. Did the big groups of cats oust others whenever they pleased? Were they cruel enough to kill each other too? Maybe prying a bit further would ease the tom's mind and feed her curiosity. She realized that prying could cost her, dare she say, a companion. With a shake of her bi-colored pelt, soft green leaves fell to the forest floor. She took a quick step aside while Rowanblaze shook out his drenched coat. To her, it seemed that he had no clue of living the life of a rogue. He wouldn't survive on his own without some help or a needed push. "Did they kick you out?" Pansy asked matter-of-factly, having no issue with being straightforward. It was best to figure out whatever this tom's problem was and move on. After all, it wasn't like she had much to do anyways but grab a decent meal. "You don't look like you're just "passing through," and if you care to know— I wasn't looking for a fight either."The black and white rogue took a step back when he sneezed, her nose twitching in response. He better not be sick, she thought before settling down on a tree root, not far from him. She eyed the exiled warrior thoroughly and noticed how horrible he looked. It wasn't his fault, of course, but the rain and cold had not been kind to him. "Why did your group send you away? I'm sure you have seen better days but—" she mewed, flicking a thin tail in the direction of his pelt and nose. "you look like a mess, but don't worry! We can fix that. I'm sure you're cold, tired, and hungry. A decent sized mouse might do you some good."Pansy stumbled a bit as she got to her paws, grumbling angrily at the curved tree roots beneath her slick paws. Soon enough, she was back where she started, looming over Rowanblaze. With a flick of her tail, she tipped her head forward to show where she planned on going-- into the forest. "We don't have all day, let's get going!" she mewed warmly, her copper eyes settling on Rowanblaze. image credited to Pixabay - (CC0 license)

Rowanblaze ;; Edge of territory ;; Pansy ;; Sand ;;
Strangely enough, the she-cat's simple question 'did they kick you out?' stung enough to make him flinch his head back. Yet, there was no avoiding reality. "They exiled me." His tone was flat, "For something that wasn't even my fault." He did not sound bitter, only sad. He shuffled his paws awkwardly, watching her with tired yellow eyes as she spoke again. She was awful curious for a rogue, although he realised he'd never taken the opportunity to actually converse with someone not affiliated with the clans. He had previously been uptight, truthfully, but watching her curious gaze peer at him, he felt self conscious. She did not show the same hostility that he would have showed her only a day before. "I will be passing through, I think. I'm not sure where I'm going but I can't really stay here." He meowed.
He turned to face her when she moved to stand atop one of the curved roots and he sat down stiffly. "It's a long story," he mumbled in response to her nosy question. He couldn't sit there and spill his entire life story to her, in fact, he really should be leaving. The further away he went, the better off he'd be. The mention of a mouse piqued his interest though and as if on cue, his stomach growled hungrily. "I wouldn't mind some breakfast, actually." He felt warm under his pelt at the realisation he was relying a strange rogue for his breakfast, but in his cold and hungry state he wasn't in a position to complain.
Stifling another sneeze, he gave his pelt a final shake before matching her copper gaze with his pale yellow. "Who are you anyway?" He asked, curiosity seeping into his dull tone, "I've never seen you before." He started walking, avoiding the border and heading deeper into unknown territory instead. His legs felt stiff after being still in the damp nevertheless the walking was helping him warm, despite the sense of dread he felt as he moved further and further from the territory he'd spent his life in. As he walked he sniffed the air, struggling to find prey scent among the damp and unfamiliar scents of the woodland around them. "Do you live around here? You seem to know a bit about the Clans," his voice trailed into a question. How much did she know? "You're not from a Clan yourself, are you?" The thought hit his mind so quick that he paused his walking to stare at her with wide eyes. He'd just immediately thought her to be a rogue, but what if she was from another Clan? Sent to spy and pry questions from him? What if she had killed Ashtail? His claws were suddenly digging into the softened soil below, however he was quick to relax again. Her innocent copper gaze didn't seem like it could possibly belong to a murderer, and she didn't smell familiar like a clancat.

Pansy - accompanied by Rowanblaze - - edge of territory - [aether ] As insensitive as Pansy was when it came to prying for information, she was at least able to hear and see the sadness in the ginger tom. She glanced down at her paws then at him guiltily, completely silent before he meowed again. She didn't really know what to say— she had never been a part of a group of cats like he had. Though Pansy had "friends" (if you could call them that), as a rogue, it didn't mean they shared everything or... well, anything really. "That's too bad," she mewed, a hint of disappointment in her voice. Her newly discovered companion was going to go his separate way soon and as usual, she would be on her own. "Well, if you aren't going to stay, I guess we should make the best of the time that's left!"A purr of amusement rumbled in the she-cat's throat when his stomach growled at the mention of prey. It was perfectly timed and albeit funny. She didn't fully understand why she even offered him a meal— maybe it was the urge for a companion gnawing at her or she was just hungry, like he was. "Maybe... you can share that story with someone some day," the black and white feline mused. She avoided a suggestion she was so keen on, one that he would probably find strange. Telling her what happened would be a stupid idea anyways, especially since she was a rogue, a nosy one at that. "Breakfast shouldn't be too hard to find around here! There's plenty of prey, I'm sure of it."For once his tone wasn't dull which calmed Pansy's senses. Now she didn't have to press him as hard as she had been doing before. Maybe their conversation would flow a bit better too. Having a companion is exhausting, she thought before her dark ears flicked when he asked her for a name. "My name's Pansy," she responded, quickly trotting after Rowanblaze. She didn't want to lag behind any longer when there was prey to be caught. "What's yours?" She parted her maw slightly while they padded along, scenting the familiar forest for prey. This, to Pansy, was her home. She didn't spend much time away from the forest unless she wandered too far and got chased out. Thankfully, over the moons, she learned how and when to avoid other cats. "I don't really have a home home, if you know what I mean. But I like to think that this part of the forest is my home," the rogue explained. Her copper eyes stared at him, puzzled by what he said, something about "the Clans"? Is that what they are called? she wondered, becoming awfully curious again. As soon as he asked her if she was from a Clan, she halted with a look of confusion. "Clan? No. I don't know what a Clan is. Is that what you call those big groups of cats? The ones that wander around together, checking the edges of the forest?" she meowed, curiosity creeping into her tone. The word "clan" felt foreign to her tongue. What kind of word was that anyways, for a group of cat? "Wait! Are you from a Clan? Does your Clan have a name too?"If he was from a Clan— whatever that was, it explained why Rowanblaze's scent was so foul to Pansy. She felt stupid for being so ignorant about what went on around the forest. Was she really that oblivious to her surroundings? At least she knew the basics of hunting, dirty fighting, but whatever Clan the tabby tom must be really important if he asked her about it. And now, she wanted to know more. image credited to Pixabay - (CC0 license)

Sootwhisker ;; The Border ;; Sapphireheart ;; brambleflight ;;
The rocky base of the mountain proved to be the best place to find chervil or yarrow, and on that particular day, it was where Sootwhisker was hunting for herbs. There was a chill on the winds that cruelly reminded him that leaf-bare was not far off, meaning that herb gathering would soon become difficult, and his clanmates would rely on his skills more than they ever had. Sootwhisker tilted his head back to glance at the rocky terrain that extended into EagleClan territory and for a few moments he paused. Can I hear something there...? Faintly, he could hear thudding footsteps, but it wasn't near enough for him to be sure. Shaking the distraction from his mind, he turned back and started nosing his way along the ground, stepping lightly as small pebbles and stones jutted into his pawpads. He aimed his paws into the sand patches or grassy sprigs so that he could keep his pale green eyes focused on the surroundings.
Chervil! The fern-like bush sprouted feebly out of the bottom of a rounded boulder. It would be difficult to attain any of the roots so he settled for picking some of the leaves instead. Whilst they didn't have as much of the healing juices they would still work if he needed them. His ears flicked again and he raised his head to stare at the rocky slope. What is that sound? It was clearer now, the pounding of paws of rock, and a snapping of jaws... A wild dog! Sootwhisker's black fur began to bristle and he bunched his muscle in preparation to run; he had no interest in becoming the dogs snack. However, another glance at the rocks stopped him. The dog - a dusty brown mutt - already had eyes locked on it's prey. That's a cat!
"Hey! Come down here! I can help you!"
The yowl sounded before he realised he was speaking it. Fear clenched at his heart and he watched, waiting for the cat - or dog - to react.
Rowanblaze ;; Rogue Territory ;; Pansy ;; Sand ;;
The chirpiness of the stranger offset Rowanblaze's usual suspicions of rogues or strangers. She was offering to help him get food - which in his sorry state he was in no place to refuse - and she was keeping him company. After being exiled he didn't know how he would fare if he were truly left alone. Pansy. He had only just met the black and white she-cat, but he couldn't help thinking that the name given to brightly coloured flowers suited her well. "I'm Rowanblaze," he meowed in response to her question. He turned his gaze cautiously to the forest around them and he froze momentarily at a nearby creak, but it was just the wind bending a tree branch a short distance away. It's going to take me a while to get used to this, he thought wearily.
Matching her gaze once more, he listened as she mentioned that she considered this part of the forest her home. He nodded, but then looked surprised when she continued about the clans. She spilled out so many questions in the same breath that he tipped his head sheepishly as he thought of the best way to approach the subject. "Yes, the Clans are the groups of cats who defend their territories. We live according to the warrior code - which I am, uh, was a warrior." He flicked his tail upwards gesturing to the sky above, "We believe our warrior ancestors in StarClan guide our paws. The Clans take care of each other... I-I've never lived without them." He glanced at his paws, "There are four Clans around here, but I'm from ThunderClan." He rose his head again, not expecting any of this information to make sense to the rogue. Rogues didn't live the way warriors did.
"You don't have to worry though. Like I said, I was exiled." His tone was flat and he turned to continue padding forward, his tail hung barely over the muddy ground. "I was exiled for something I didn't even do," there was no denying the bitterness that edged his tone. He was so cold and tired and hungry that he felt as though his mind was flipping back and forth between sad and angry. He thought for a moment that he could confide in Pansy, but he convinced himself that she simply wouldn't understand. How in StarClan could she possibly help? It wasn't like she knew what happened to Ashtail... He opened his jaws and took in the scents nearby, catching a hint of a mouse not far away. "The thing I miss most is that in the Clans, we all help each other. No one would ever do harm to anyone else." He glanced to Pansy and twitched his whiskers towards the mouse scent.

Pansy - accompanied by Rowanblaze - - rogue territory, forest - [aether ] Rowanblaze... What a strange name, Pansy thought, taken aback by the ginger tom's name. Now that they knew each other's name, it cleared up some of the confusion. She noticed Rowanblaze turn his gaze at some sound, but she hadn't even registered it. To her, it was like any normal day in the rogue territory. There was nothing to worry about as far as she could tell. After all, this forest was her home, not his. To him, it was uncharted territory. Maybe Rowanblaze wasn't as comfortable as she was right now. Though she had asked too many questions and overwhelmed her new companion, embarrassment swarmed her quickly and she shuffled her paws nervously. Hopefully he didn't mind her eagerness. Once Rowanblaze had explained this... clan system, Pansy couldn't help but stare at him awestruck. There was more to his way of life than what she had expected and it made no sense. She still had so many questions for him, but by now, she was sure she had worn him out. Besides, she knew he would be sick of her nonsense soon. "That's... complicated," the black and white she-cat told him blatantly. "I don't understand much of it, but I don't think I could handle any of it."Rowanblaze's explanation of this ThunderClan and the other three clans made her wonder— what would clan life be like? Would it be difficult or easy? She knew that her questions were of the many that came to mind, and now wasn't the time to ask. There was hunting to be done because she could feel her stomach growling for prey. She turned her head towards the ginger tabby again, hearing the word "exile." She didn't understand how the clan he lived in for all his life could just banish him. It made no sense to the rogue and she felt sorrow— for Rowanblaze. "I can't believe they would do that to you... After living with them for so long! What kind of clan is this?" she meowed emotionally. Her copper eyes shone furiously as she dug her claws into the earth below. "It sounds like your clan wasn't helpful, Rowanblaze. They hung you out to dry and harmed you. I wouldn't miss a place like that."While he scented for prey, she opened her jaws to do the same. The faint scent of a vole wasn't too far off nor was the scent of a sparrow. When the ex-warrior twitched his whiskers, she nodded in response. "Go," she mewed quietly before flicking an ear in the direction of some undergrowth where the vole was. She wanted to make sure he knew where she would be in case either of them needed help. image credited to Pixabay - (CC0 license)
