StarClan knows why BreezexHeather became mates. I doubt Breezepelt truly loved Heathertail. However, there has been some friendship between them, like Heathertail supporting Breezepelt as an apprentice and even defending him at one point.
But with Heathertail's bitter behavior towards Lionblaze, and Breezepelt's behavior against his father and the Three, I am frightened for the kits. We haven't seen Heathertail's "nice side" since she was an apprentice, but that was a long time ago. And Breezepelt is just awful. I imagine he's going to be much like Nightcloud, manipulating his children to hate on Crowfeather. That's how Nightcloud raised him, after all.
Heathertail might be okay, but we dont' know enough about her. She needs an ebook, seriously. It'll cover up so many answers for us.

I mean I don't know...I think if you had an abusive parent you should teach your children to hate them, and people like them, if only to keep them safe
I am worried about Breeze's kits though. Someone who tries to murder a pregnant queen, and even shows no regret, should not have kits

I pretty confident these kits won't be taught to kill their relatives on sight.
However, not being taught to be rude, snappy, bad-tempered, and generally difficult to be around anyone outside WindClan is a different story.
I believe Kate when she said Breezepelt can be a loyal warrior. But I also keep in mind that Foxheart, Rainflower, and heck, Raggedstar were all technically loyal too. Loyalty doesn't make someone likeable.

I think Breezepelt always did like Heathertail. Breezepelt was bragging that Heathertail was "his" now when he got close to her in front of Lionblaze to spite him.

What I mean is when Kate said he can be loyal now. I mean, it doesn't take much to be loyal- all it takes is not trying to attack his clanmates ever again, and obeying orders Onestar gives him, and technically, that makes him loyal. I'm not saying he'd suddenly be the best warrior ever. I'm just saying I think Kate's right- that he can make the requirements, even if they are the minimal, to be a loyal warrior now- even if he didn't used to be. |

I feel sorry for them as well. I also still really want Smokekit to become a medicine cat, but if she does do that...I can't imagine how Breezepelt would feel...
