Not that bad, just Shrewkit calling Tallkit Wormkit and teasing him a little bit. It starts getting worse when they're apprentices, because Shrewpaw will fight with his claws out most of the time, and he's now calling Tallpaw Wormpaw. I'm REALLY curious as to what the heck Brackenwing was telling him in the nursery I wouldn't be surprised if Brackenwing had a part in it. Yeah, plus it didn't help that the tunnelers and moor-runners were constantly talking crap about each other, and each group acted like they were better than the other, the moor-runners were especially uppity about it all.

Right. The more I think about it, the more I think that Shrewclaw gets too much hate, he is a jerk, and he should be held accountable, but also..no one ever really tried to teach him better. I think the only adult cat who spoke out about it, was Dawnstripe, but I don't remember if she ever told Shrewclaw that he was being a jerk. It also didn't help matters, that instead of talking to him about his bullying behavior, when Sandgorse notices Shrewkit making fun of Tallkit, he instead makes a snarky remark about him. He also started to grow out of it when he got older, and I think that if he had longer to live, he would have been a pretty cool guy.

I agree, he could have been a better cat.

Except Brackenwing and Palebird were best friends. To believe this would mean that Brackenwing was actually horrible all along or any prejudice she displayed was more or less unintentional on her part. Shrewclaw could've also picked it up from his father or just the tension going on in the Clan in general. Ever heard of the saying it takes a village to raise a child? That was probably the case here, especially when there were more moor runners than tunnelers by then. Either way, his environment definitely played a role in how he turned out.
