Ebony Cadell [Spook] member of the knight watch
Ebony did her best to ignore the anxious shiver that inched down her spine once everyone got started. Already things were in a frenzy and she wasn’t entirely sure she was ready for that yet, Ebony needed time to prepare for frenzies, she had never done good by just jumping head first into it.
Still, she had to admit that she was glad that she was only the defense this time, Ebony could simply summon others to do her bidding and watch from the sidelines this way, she wouldn’t have to worry about going into the other team’s territory and running around too much. She could simply stay here and protect the flag.
Pausing a little, Ebony looked up at Libelle, nodding when Libelle explained the temperature idea. Right, she could go that, she could lower the temperature.
Inhaling shapely, Ebony fell to the ground, eyes closed as she placed her hands on the grass, and with a slow exhale, a cold fog lifted from the ground and encased their entire territory. As far as Ebony knew, the fog itself didn’t have a name, though she had always referred to it as “Reaper’s Breath” as it was only with the cold fog that she could lift up the dead. Something about the fog allowed the dead to walk freely, perhaps they needed the cold, perhaps it helped their aching bones, Ebony wasn’t really sure.
Either way, despite the creepy aspect, it was here now.
Ebony did her best not to think about a black hooded figure waiting for her in the fog.
That’s how he always approached her in her dreams, hidden within the fog, skeletal hand stretched out for her to take, scythe strapped to the back of the dark as night, black cloak.
”Come,” he would whisper, his voice echoing as the winds rushed passed her face.
The call of death.
It had been the first sound she had ever heard.
Shaking her head, And Ebony looked back to Libelle, standing up and dusting off her hands. ”What now?” she questioned.

Ivory Lince local furry
She could do this. She could stay in control. All she had to do was keep herself focused, keep the human part of her in control. If she kept herself calm, if she didn’t put too much thought into all this, she could do it. She could get through this training session without any mishaps. She could do this. She could.
Ivory took a deep breath. She closed her eyes, steeling her nerves as she made that all too familiar connection with the animal that resided inside. There was a rush of something that she could only describe as a static energy flood over her, and then, in a matter of seconds, she was no longer a human, but instead she was a towering lynx monster, eyes narrowed, fangs bared, and fur bristled.
She could already feel a deep disconnect between her human self and her lynx self. That...that wasn’t good. That wasn’t good at all - if she wanted to keep herself in control here she needed to be in sync, and while she had always had trouble keeping her two sides in sync, this was one of those that she could tell if she didn’t take back control then it was all over for her and she would essentially go feral. If anything it wouldn’t be too terrible if she went absolutely wild on Peril, but that was still something she wanted to avoid. Peril or not, Ivory doubted it would look good on her if she went absolutely crazy on somebody she was supposed to be on a team with.
Shaking her head, she tried to push aside all these thoughts. If she kept them at the front of her mind then she was bound to get worked up and lose any and all control she had over herself in this form. Ivory was already struggling, she didn’t need to add anything more for her to fret over right now. What she needed to do was just concentrate on this mock battle, get it over with, and then shift back into the form she was the most comfortable in, the form she was less likely to hurt people in.
Luckily for her it didn’t take long for her to find where the impish creature was, though she doubted it would have taken her long to find him regardless of anything - his cackle was enough for Ivory to pick up on and locate him without her even needing to scan the area and search for him visually.
A growl growing in the back of her throat, she sprung forward to meet Peril half way. Her current plan wasn’t to get physical, but instead she was going to intimidate. She sort of doubted that would work given who she was up against, and Peril didn’t seem to have a single idea of what being intimidated was, but it never hurt to try something. Only if she absolutely had to would she get physical with her opponent, and she hoped beyond anything that it wouldn’t come to that - she was sure that if she had to do that she would certainly lose it and go on some sort of feral rampage.
Once again trying to push all that to the back of her mind, Ivory pulled her lips back to reveal her sharp canines as she got down on all fours, arching her back and bristling the fur along her spine to appear larger than she already was. The growling in her throat only grew louder all the while she hoped that this would be enough to win this training session.

P E R I L a weird demon-fairy thing
Find the beast, find the beast, find the beast.
That was the only thing echoing in Peril’s mind as he took off on all fours through the grounds. Now, for what it was worth, Peril did like to think that he was doing a lot better on the whole “well mannered and in control” thing, after all he hadn’t killed anyone without permission in years by now, and he also prided himself in treating people better in general, sure he teased them and he poked fun at them, and sometimes he drank out of their mugs without them looking or licked the food labeled for other people in the fridge and then watched them eat it later with an all too delighted look in his eyes, but that didn’t mean he was a bad guy.
However, despite all of that, despite how far Peril had come and despite the fact that he was actually really proud of all this process, even if nobody else really seemed to notice or even care, there was still a part of Peril that needed to be let loose, a part of him that enjoyed the chase, enjoyed the hunt, enjoyed the freedom to be as feral as he wanted to be, and that was the part of him he chose to unleash when they played capture the flag.
Sprinting forward, Peril stopped for a moment, perching up on his legs as he inched upwards, sniffing the air.
Lynx.
He was close, she was close, and though he wasn’t really sure what he was supposed to do, he was ready to distract that werelynx for as long as need be. So, letting out a maniacal little laugh, Peril stumbled forward and into view of Ivory, jumping up and down on his feet as he looked up at her. ”Ivory! Ivory! Over here!” He called excitedly, letting out another laugh as he waved the werelynx over, trying to get her attention. ”Come on, come get me, come on, you know you want to,” he told her and slammed his hands on the ground like he was beating a drum.
Right now he was just trying to get her attention, he’d start egging her on and ticking her off once she actually had her focus on him.
Peril kind of just assumed that the rest of his team wanted both him and Ivory out of the way so they could actually focus on the game, but hey, if that meant he got to play with the werelynx for a bit, he wasn’t about to complain about it.
Besides, he was still kind of hoping he’d get eaten or something like that.

Libelle Blaise Ledoux | Blazing Star "i am not afraid... i was born to do this," - joan of arc Libelle found it unfortunate she couldn't feel the cold air rise around them, but she had to admit that the visual aspect of Ebony's ability was helpful. Libelle wondered if her ability was even needed for what she wanted to do. But, she was already warm with the fire flowing through her body, and she wasn't going to try and deny a reason to add up more steam up into the air. Shooting a grin towards Ebony, Libelle responded, "Now it's my turn."She hoped she wasn't being over confident for nothing, and that Ebony's cold was cold enough, and that Libelle's warmth hadn't displaced anything yet. So, doing what Libelle knew best, she focused the warmth outside and hoped the immediate heat of the fire interacting with the cold breeze would do what she wanted it to. Simply put, Libelle lit herself on fire and hoped for the best. And ever-so-luckily, it seemed to work decently well as the temperatures collided and a larger array of steam and covering from the air seemed to benefit. Libelle didn't really bother to tone down the heat though, allowing fire to flow off of the uncovered half of her face as she turned to Ebony. "Feel free to summon whatever you can? I'm currently acting as the beacon for attention, so some extra surprise back up could be appreciated... Squirrels, golems, or otherwise."Of course, Libelle should have expected a thundering sound coming from above. As they seemed to have gotten ground level fogged up, a certain storm-based fighter was working on covering the air above them them with dark clouds and shocks of blue lightning. "Sooner rather than later... I think we're going to have company in a couple of moments of so." At least Libelle was confident they could take Akemi.

Ebony Cadell [Spook] member of the knight watch
The mist was a nice addition of her powers, it was also the only thing that wasn’t directly linked to death...well it was, but it didn’t involve the dead, just the mist for them all. However once Libelle added the heat, the mist grew, giving way to steam that made it even harder to see than before, the playing field was practically covered in the steam by now, making it hard for Ebony to see the hands in front of her face.
This was good though, this was what they wanted, and although Ebony wasn’t entirely sure if this was the best move, she wasn’t going to doubt Libelle either, at least not vocally, even if she was still a little worried that they might be giving themselves a disadvantage just as much as they were giving the other team the advantage. Their territory was completely hidden now, and that could go either way depending on how each team utilized it.
However, even still, Ebony wasn’t one to question authority, she hardly questioned anyone if she could help it. ”Summoning, I can do that,” Ebony agreed in a soft voice, barely above a whisper as she closed her eyes and placed her hands on the cold ground beneath her.
Then, just like that, she began to send out a signal, calling out to the bones and the rotting corpses underneath her very feet. The ground was deep, many things had been buried underneath the Knight Hall’s expansive grounds over the years and now it was up to her to see just what she could bring to aid them all.
At first there was nothing, and then, slowly, up burst from the ground, an army of small, decaying squirrels and birds, dead mice and rats and even an old cat or two.
It wasn’t much, and even now, Ebony could feel something else just waiting for her to call for it.
She didn’t dare go that far though.
Whatever it was that had died here so long ago, it wasn’t something Ebony needed to know about, especially given the rather...large vibe she got from it.
Letting go of the silent call, Ebony stood up and dusted off her hands, squinting at her tint army of undead animals. ”Go, guard our territory by whatever means necessary,” she ordered them in a quiet yet firm voice.
She couldn’t see what happened next, however by the sound of scuttling pawsteps and clanging bones, Ebony was left to assume that her army had done as they were told.
”That should help a little bit,” Ebony said quietly as she glanced back over towards Libelle. It wasn’t much, but hopefully it was enough to help their team win.

Ivory Lince local furry
There he was. It wasn’t hard at all to catch sight of the little gremlin creature as he jumped up and down all the while laughing in some high pitched tone that honestly grated on Ivory’s nerves. It was enough to make her want to snap out of control and take all her frustrations out on Peril, but she knew better than to do that. She knew it wouldn’t look good on her to turn on one of her own teammates, even if that teammate was Peril and they were playing a game that could get rather competitive. For as solitary and asocial as she was, even toward her own group members, Ivory did want to show them that she could be trusted, that she was worth having around. She also respected Edmund, and she didn’t want what she did to reflect poorly on him. He was a good guy, and honestly, probably the only reason why she had stayed on the team in the first place. Ivory wouldn’t give her loyalty to just anybody, but somehow Edmund had won that from her, and if he was willing to give her a place to stay and treat her as if she were a good person then the least she could do was give him her loyalty. So showing the team that he had made the right decision to keep her as a member was something Ivory cared a lot about even if she didn’t show it all that well.
Reigning back a surge of annoyance, Ivory watched as Peril did all he could to grab her attention. Oh, he had grabbed it alright, and while his acts were making it a lot harder for her to concentrate on keeping in control, the werelynx was still able to remain mostly human in mind. It was a struggle, but she was doing it.
For now.
A sharp growl formed in the back of her throat as she drew her lips back, revealing a row of deadly sharp canines. She dropped down on all four, prowling closer toward the much smaller creature, the fur along her spine bristled up like pine needles, her ears flattening against her head. She watched Peril through narrowed eyes, keeping track of every move he made, every little leap he managed. Ivory was a predator, and to be a predator she had to successfully track every move her prey made. Once she figured out a pattern of any kind then she could strike. Then she could go in for the kill.
No.
Not the kill. This wasn’t some game where the end resulted in death. Not that Peril could actually die, but the last thing Ivory wanted to do was “kill” Peril for a few minutes. It wouldn’t look good on her. It wouldn’t look good on Edmund. People would start to question his decision in letting her on the team and that just wasn’t something Ivory wanted for him at all. He was a good guy, and the last thing she wanted was for him to have his team fall apart all because she wasn’t able to keep control over her powers.
Continuing to growl, Ivory edging ever closer to Peril, never once taking her eyes off him. She still wasn’t going to charge, pounce, or even grab at him. She was still going to try and intimidate him off, if that was even possible, but she had to try. She didn’t want to actually get physical with him in fear of what might happen, but maybe, just maybe, her plan A would work just this once.

MARGOT DAVENPORT
Also known as Oracle Margot had been scanning over the field as she listened to Nimul's suggestion. She was right; Edmund and Libelle would be leaving this to Hailey. Ebony and Juniper likely wouldn't feel comfortable making these sorts of choices either, and certainly Link didn't have the confidence. Nor the focus, really.
So if she were Hailey, where would she hide the flag?
The young demigod decided for now to head to the edge of the field as Nimul had suggested, potentially even get some high ground, and see if she could spot the flag
Unfortunately, as she moved across the field she soon realised it was beginning to be covered with some kind of steam or fog. Her eyes moved to where it seemed to have originated, and though she couldn't see much she could make out two figures. Libelle and Ebony?
Well, this was just great. The visibility on the field would be damaged now. At least, she thought, if Libelle and Ebony were going to keep up that cover it meant they might be too busy to focus on other things. That cover also meant someone was probably sneaking around to find the flag, which wasn't great. Still, that wasn't Margot's problem; she wasn't on defence.
She had to focus - at least she potentially had the same advantage as those seeking the flag on the other team had, since they wouldn't be able to see her as easily either.
Still, she wasn't happy.
”Great, I can't see anything,” the demigod tutted to Nimul as she ran
Perhaps the edge of the field would still be helpful. She might be able to get a good vantage point and at least the visibility might be better out there.
What was very much Margot's problem was the army of dead animals awaiting her as she moved into the other team's area of the field. Dead squirrels, cats, everything. Granted, Margot wasn't afraid of animals, but she most certainly didn't like dead things. And there were a lot of these. Not to mention the fact that she wouldn't be alone out here either; some of the other team must be out here on defence. Presumably Edmund and Juniper, she hadn't seen them yet. And she knew Hailey would be the type to want to go for the flag and she also wouldn't trust Link with the defence.
Edmund and Juniper were both strong, Margot knew that first-hand. She'd have to avoid them if she possibly could, but she doubted she'd be able to avoid fighting them if she drew attention to herself fighting these animals.
Unfortunately, while stealth was something she was decent at, it wasn't much of an option on this exposed field. Not to mention the fact that she didn't think she was stealthy enough to hide from animals, even dead ones. Besides, she'd already had to get quite close to even see them what with the fog obscuring her view.
So she looked to Nimul, stepping back slightly back into the fog in the (likely vain) hope the undead animals hadn't sensed her presence yet.
"Nimul, think you can figure out where the flag is and then come back and tell me where it is?" Margot suggested in a hushed tone "I'll try and hold off the defence in the meantime. If I'm not here when you get back, they've captured me."
The animals she could hold off, hopefully. Edmund and Juniper might be a different story. But at least she knew Akemi would be somewhere nearby; he could help her out if things got bad. Possibly Teylie, too. She had her team if necessary.
Hopefully it wouldn't be for long; once Nimul came back she could hopefully make a break for the flag and hope her speed would carry her through. She might be just fast enough to be able to outrun Edmund and Juniper, though no guarantees. And the animals might present a problem in that sense; there were birds after all, which could, you know, fly.

Also known as: Hyperlink
Link's nervousness about this game certainly hadn't gone away once it started. He wouldn't stand a chance, powers-wise, in a confrontation with one of those on the other team. This wasn't even his job on the team, he was their as their friendly tech and computer guy. Their hacker. Plus he could travel extremely quickly through cables provided he only went a short distance. Overall, this wasn't exactly his forte.
But that was exactly why Hailey had given him this role. He had to trust her.
Talking of whom, he caught her nod and offered her one in return, acknowledging what she was saying and letting her know he was on her tail. Hopefully, anyway. He wasn't exactly as fast as her portals.
It wasn't long before he saw the trail of pink pixie dust she was leaving. Great, he could head in that direction so he was ready when she found the flag and could go in for the distraction.
The problem was getting over there without being spotted.
Thankfully, Libelle and Ebony seemed to have taken care of that problem, because some kind of steam or fog began filling the field. The perfect distraction, and he knew they'd have more up their sleeve too. It would give him the chance to get to the other side of the field hopefully without being seen. Or if he was noticed, hopefully they wouldn't see him as an immediate threat.
So now he had the fog to cover him at least a little, he started heading in the general direction of the pink trail Hailey had been leaving. At least if he used that as a guide to where she was he would be nearby when she found the flag. He couldn't afford to mess this up; if they lost, Link couldn't let it be his fault. Hailey would never trust him with anything again if he couldn't get this little thing right.
He was careful to move quickly but tried to stay in the foggiest parts of the field so the other team would hopefully not notice him, and he tried to skirt around the areas where most of the action seemed to be. He had to try and make sure he wasn't seen.
As he moved, he tried to determine who Akemi would have put on defence. Surely his nerd computer science brain could figure this one out. Not Nimul or Margot, neither of them were suited to that. Akemi likely wouldn't put himself on defence, as team captain he'd want to be somewhere he could keep an eye on the team. Peril couldn't be less suited to any kind of defence role; it would involve him staying put. It would be stupid to tie Teylie down with a defence position - she had healing abilities, she'd need to be able to move around the field and heal people.
Which left Addison and Nyx. Neither of whom Link would feel comfortable facing; it would be game over immediately with Nyx, since she could just put him to sleep. And Addison? She was a genius.
He'd just have to hope he wouldn't have to confront them.
He was soon near the borders of the other team's side of the field, hopefully meaning he was far away enough not to be a threat yet but also close enough that he could move in quickly once he had any indication Hailey had found the flag. He kept his eyes very closely on that pink trail.
Hailey would make it look like she was going for the flag, distract Addison and Nyx, and hopefully give Link enough time to run in and get the flag. All he could hope was that she bought enough time; if Nyx put Hailey to sleep it could all be over very quickly.
For now, this was the only plan they had. He was going to stick to it.

P E R I L a weird demon-fairy thing
Peril stood in front of the beast and stared into its cold dark eyes...”Well, this is boring,” he complained, waving a hand in front of Ivory. ”Come on, the point of the game is to chase, in-it? Let’s go, let’s do this, come on beastly, lemme have it,” Peril told her, jumping up and down in front of the werelynx.
Once he had found the werelynx, he had immediately charged right up to her and taunted her, urging her to attack him, however unfortunately, that didn’t seem to be in Ivory’s itinerary for today, which sucked, especially since he had specifically targeted Ivory under the assumption that he could annoy her into biting his leg off or something like that, but currently she seemed more interested in playing defense rather than offense, and personally, Peril took that personally. What, was he not annoying enough? Had he lost his special touch? Was he...was he enjoyable now?
Pixies forbid that was the case.
Peril would hate it if he has become bearable, in fact, the day he lost his ability to annoy literally anyone on the face of this planet was the day he offered himself up to Ainbheartoch and accepted his face as a mindless servant of his creepy kind of relative.
A day might come where he would do that, but today was not that day.
Maybe he just had to step up his game.
So, smirking towards Ivory, Peril backed up. ”Alright Lynx, have it your way,” he told her, throwing his voice in hopes of catching her off guard as he disappeared from sight, back into the shadows...okay maybe that was a little dramatic, after all he had just ran the opposite way at top speed, climbing up the nearest tree, then, with all the night he could muster, he forced a tall branch down towards the ground and once it was close enough, he released it, his body flying through the air and right back towards Ivory.
With a smack he hit her right in the face, his arms and legs sprawled out as he stuck to her muzzle like a cartoon character stuck to a door or something like that.
Grinning, Peril showed off his fangs as he waved right at Ivory’s eye. ”Hi,” he greeted coyly, and then, without any warning whatsoever, Peril jabbed his finger right into Ivory’s eye.
This outta get her good and annoyed.

Ivory Lince local furry
Let it be known that Ivory tried not to lose it.
Scratch that, could she really say she tried? If she had tried then she would have lasted in this dumb game for longer. If she had tried then maybe she could have actually stopped the lynx within from taking control.
Everything that happened next just went on to prove how much of a fool she was to believe that she could ever truly benefit this group and what they stood for.
She had hoped that Peril was just giving up and looking to find a more interesting opponent, but her thoughts were soon proven false when she felt a sudden smack upon her face. Ivory had heard the creaking of a nearby tree, her extra sensitive hearing picking up on it with ease. She had just been turning to check out what exactly was going on when Peril flung his tiny body onto her face, and just as she was about to bring a hand up to flick him off, a sudden, sharp pain stabbed her in the eye and had all the nerves in her body explode with reaction.
And from there only monster lynx instinct was in control.
Ivory violently jolted backward, a hiss escaping her jaws. She stumbled for a moment, unable to see where she was going thanks to her eye now watering and stinging. She shook her head back and and forth as if that would help with any of the pain she was experiencing, and when the whiplash of air only made things worse, her movements got all the more frantic and all the more violent.
Once again she jerked back, her entire body lurching forward with one large movement. She was like a bucking bronco, only she was feline and much larger than any bronco would ever be. She was perhaps deadlier too; not to say that horses weren’t dangerous, they could do some serious damage if somebody were to get thrown off or kicked, but she was now in full feral mode, claws and fangs ready to dig into flesh and get rid of the threat that plagued her like fleas.
With a roar Ivory shot a hand up to her face and furiously grabbed around, not stopping until she had grabbed Peril. She didn’t stop there, though, the instinct to finish what she had started surging through her like a wildfire.
The werelynx didn’t stop squeezing until she felt her talons poking dangerously close to Peril, the softness of his flesh a mere wrist flick away from
being pierced; however, that wasn’t what happened. Rather than penetrate his body with her claws, Ivory violently threw him down onto the ground, fur bristling along her spine and her lips pulled back with such wild anger it was hard to believe that typical Ivory was quiet, stoic more than anything else. There was an unlocked rage within her, and the rampage wasn’t just going to stop on its own - it wasn’t going to stop until the threat was destroyed.
Ivory’s movements were quick. Giving Peril no time to recover from being thrown onto the ground, she leaned down with jaws wide open, teeth flashing in the light, and closed her mouth around the gremlin creature’s torso. Hot blood seeped into her mouth, oozing between her fangs as she picked Peril up and shook her head just like a dog would its chew toy, stopping the shaking only when she reached a hand up to grab a hold of him again. She still didn’t let him go from her jaws, though, pulling on his body with her hand until there was a sickly satisfying crunch of what she could only assume was his body being pulled apart right between her very fangs and claws. The half of Peril that had been stuck in her mouth soon vanished down her throat, the werelynx wasting no time in doing as she did best and eating the remains of her destruction. It didn’t take long for his other half to follow suit as she lunged forward and snapped him up in her mouth, the rest of his body going down her throat as well.
Now just because the initial threat was taken care of didn’t mean Ivory wasn’t still on a feral rampage. The beast inside was still in control, and once she had gotten rid of Peril the werelynx turned around, quite the menacing sight now; she looked over the game area through cold, narrowed eyes, her fur bristling and muscles poised, ready to launch her large body at any given moment on any given target, teammate or not. A snarl ripped from her as she pulled her lips back, revealing sharp fangs dripping with purple blood and saliva. The only thing on her mind now was to attack anything in her way, and it was clear in both expression and body language that Ivory had lost her grip on humanity and had dived right back down into the depths of the beast.

Nimul | Spectre "too alien for earth, too human for outer space," - rune lazuli Nimul forgot how much she disliked dense air. She knew she had been conditioned to dislike the fogs and smokes and steams that took over an area, but that didn't give much credit to the fact Nimul didn't like not being able to see. For humans (and others) it gave a solid foundation to hide from sight, but Nimul had no need for that as a being that that could hide in plain sight without obstructing her own vision. This whole fog-thing ruined that factor. It evened the playing field for everyone, but it didn't make it any less annoying. There was a reason sakats weren't used in battles back home. She gave a small indication of similar feelings towards the new environment after Margot spoke. As she continued and gave the suggestion to temporarily separate from one another, Nimul supposed she would agree. Although, she really hoped Margot wouldn't get captured in the meantime. Well, she supposed it wouldn't be difficult to get her out of play-jail. And depending on where the flag was, it might even be closer... Not the point! She gave a small chitter of approval and ever so casually faded into what was most comparable to a non-existence. Because really, when Nimul was unable to be seen and unable to be touched, what more was she that a floating pile of thoughts. But that mattered little as she lifted up above the people in order to scan for a brightly coloured flag.

Libelle Blaise Ledoux | Blazing Star "i am not afraid... i was born to do this," - joan of arc She gave Ebony a firm nod, hoping that it came across as encouraging. As much as Libelle hated thinking it, watching Ebony raise the dead was unnerving. There was this certain itch that just reached down her spine whenever Libelle was actually close to that kind of business. It was uncomfortable, but not a thing Libelle dared to bring up. "We might even catch whomever they're sending towards us cause of them," Libelle contemplated aloud. Albeit, Libelle didn't know who those people would be. Akemi was doubtfully the person, unless loud noises and being right in the field of vision was his idea of subtle disguise. She ticked off Addison from the list given the tech the girl had was better suited for something other than sneaking in a more nature-based area, she was sure. Peril didn't really have the focus, Libelle felt, to go after it, and she was pretty sure everyone knew that Teylie was playing a careful game of healing rather than any kind of offense or defense. Out of the remaining three, Libelle was unsure which one would be sent out. Nimul didn't have much of the ability to carry the flag back with her gel-like body and like of mobile fingers. Libelle could have seen Akemi using Margot to try and read out predictions of Hailey's teams, if not play some kind of defense with her above-the-human-average abilities. It left Nyx, she supposed? Libelle was probably wasting her time on that strategy though. "Hey girls, you planning on standing there all day or actually fighting?" called out a voice from above. Right, Akemi was the present issue in front of them. She briefly glanced at Ebony, "Think you can help me with him, or prefer to find something else to deal with for now?"

aka ;; the Bone Folder
As the rest of the team was divided up, Juniper felt a bolt of anxiety shoot up her spine. Sure she was a firm believer that most of the Knight Watch needed a good ass-kicking, but it seemed like everyone was taking the game seriously. What if she was the one to let down her team?
Her doubts, however, quickly vanished when she was put on defense duty. If she cared more about the game she would have spoken up. Sure her powers seemed designed for defense- being able to stop attackers in their tracks, but what was the purpose in piling bodies close to the flag? It would just draw more of the opposing team to her location- and if Teylie managed to slip behind her guard and heal one of the downed heroes they could be up stealing the flag while she was too busy taking out another. At least if she was an aggressor she wouldn't have to think of the strategical places to abandon bodies.
Sighing, she turned her focus towards Edmund who seemed to be going off about how the game was going to start. If she was smart she would have been paying attention, instead she blinked and the team was in motion. Well I guess that means we're starting, she thought with a shrug.
"So.... you got a good secret defense plan?" she asked Edmund. She doubted he did but she hated the silence of waiting. If she could start up a conversation at least the game wouldn't be a complete bore. "Or is the plan just to beat up some teammates and hope they don't take it personally?"
As she was joking, she felt the hairs on her arms rise. "...the temperature is dropping," she noted under her breath, "...which typically means... yep." Within a heartbeat a layer of fog washed over the field. Well at least that'll be helpful for defense. She had to admit that the additional cover would be useful- after all her powers required her to get in range of her opponents. If she could slip under their guard rather than chasing them down head on she might have a better chance of actually being useful.
If the rest of her team was starting to prep for the upcoming fight, she figured she might as well do the same. It had been a while since she'd used her powers, something she hated to admit. While the other members of the Knight Watch might spend their days out in the streets protecting mankind or something boring like that, she had an actual job. A job that was becoming harder and harder to keep because of her superhero duties. But it meant that she was rusty- and with powers like hers that was dangerous. All it took was one sliced artery and the whole game would be soured.
So she took a deep breathe and closed her eyes. She could feel the bones in her own body- feel the way the beckoned to her like a pulsing light on a far away shore. She could reach out an touch it, tear them apart with a flick of her wrist. It would be easy to call to them now- build a saber out of her own body, but she needed to save her energy. Slowly she expanded it it to the space around her- waiting to pick up the sign of another person moving through the steam.

Edmund Pendragon AKA White Knight
Glancing over towards Juniper, Edmund shrugged in response. ”I’m not leader, I don’t have secret plans, all I am here for is to play my part for the team,” he explained, a cheeky grin spread across his face. It wasn’t very often that he got to sit back and simply follow orders, as he was almost always the one giving them, it was a nice change of pace.
Taking quick notice of the fog, Edmund watched for a second as Juniper honed in on her powers, he gave her a quick approving nod before tightening his hold on Excalibur. ”What say you, Excalibur, shall we check the perimeter?” He asked in an excited whisper and Excalibur lit up in equal excitement.
Smiling, Edmund took that as a yes and started off into the fog.
All things considering, Edmund liked to think that things were going well. Perhaps not perfect, but people were working together, they were coming up with plans and they were letting their competitiveness drive them towards a better tomorrow, they were using all that energy to better their skills through a friendly - though competitive - game, and really that’s all Edmund had wanted for this, just for his fellow knights to get along and have fun and-oh dear lord what was Peril doing?
As his eyes wandered across the battlefield, Edmund grabbed hold of Excalibur, holding out his sword in front of him as it glowed a bright hue, lighting his way through the fog, and that’s when he saw it.
Peril, flinging himself at an obviously annoyed Ivory. For most people, it was easier to assume that Ivory was always annoyed when she had...lynxed up or whatever she called it when she changed from her human form into a large werelynx, however Edmund knew her better than that, he knew how hard she tried to remain in control and how much effort that took from her.
It was a very valiant effort on her part, truly commendable of her skills and her humanity, and Peril was literally poking the beast right out of her.
”Pe-“ Just as Edmund called out to stop the creature, it happened. Peril had landed right on Ivory’s face, and if that wasn’t enough, Peril then did what Edmund could only describe as the stupidest thing he had ever seen Peril do.
Peril poked the raging beast right in the eye.
Instantly Edmund saw everything unravel as Ivory lost control and the beast was loose.
Edmund could do nothing but stare as Ivory devoured Peril and in one quick gulp, Peril was gone.
Which yes, might’ve usually been a major cause for concern, but Edmund had seen that man get caught in an explosion, throw himself on a grenade just for the laughs, and fall off a skyscraper.
If anyone could somehow survive being eaten alive, it was Peril.
What Edmund was most concerned about right now was the fact that Ivory had lost control and was already out for blood. He had calmed the beast before, he knew the damage she could do, and he knew that the time for games was over.
Reaching up, Edmund tapped on his earpiece, sending a message out to the entire team. ”I hate to ruin everyone’s fun, but we have a code mahogany-violet,” he explained. The team should know what it meant. Mahogany was code for “Ivory lost control” and violet was an instant “Peril Problem”, combining them could only mean something absolutely terrible.
”I’m going to need everyone to circle around Ivory, make sure she doesn’t get off the property, I’ll distract her until we can calm her down, Nyx, I’ll need you to put her to sleep, Teylie, I’ll need you at the ready in case she attacks again, everyone else, your only job is to keep her here, I don’t want any harm to come to her,” he ordered.
Once he got that out of the way, Edmund fastened Excalibur tightly in his hands and charged towards Ivory, banging his sword against his shield to create a loud, distracting noise, hopefully she would take the bait and go after him while he waited for the rest of the team to show up.

Also known as: Hyperlink
Link had to admit that he was a little relieved when Edmund’s voice crackled into his earpiece to tel the group they had to stop.
That relief was soon cut short when the young man found out that they had a code mahogany-violet. Either of those on their own were bad enough to be quite frank, and both of them together was an absolute nightmare and certainly adequate cause to stop the game.
Link rushed as fast as he could to the last location he remembered Peril and Ivory being spotted, soon approaching to see Edmund there with the two, and Margot had apparently already arrived. Her bow and arrow wasn’t much use but she had a small dagger for emergencies, which she had drawn.
The woman looked up when Link arrived, and the younger hero moved next to her to start forming the circle around Ivory that Edmund said they needed. Unfortunately for Link, he was completely unarmed. Hyperlink didn’t really use weapons, it wasn’t his thing. He also wasn’t close enough to a computer to be of much use either, not that he thought any of his powers were particularly applicable in this situation.
”Heads up, if Ivory attacks me I’m going to be worse than useless and I feel like that should be on the record,” Link pointed out
Margot rolled her eyes, mouth pulling up into a smile.
”Duly noted, nerd,” the woman said, settling her gaze on the werelynx
She seemed significantly less afraid than Link did, but he supposed she had good reason to be. She was fast, she was strong, and she could fight. Link was none of those things.
Still, he wasn’t totally useless, which was why he lowered slightly, settling into a defensive stance in case the beast attacked. All they had to do was hold her off until the others arrived, especially Nyx and Teylie.
He kept his eyes on Ivory, careful to monitor her for any signs that she might try and attack or run. He has to stop both of those things happening if he could. Margot did the same, turning the dagger slowly in her hand. She obviously would never hurt Ivory, she was their teammate, but it still didn’t hurt to have a weapon just in case. At the very least the sight of it might discourage Ivory from attacking.
But that was when Link frowned, suddenly having had a realisation. He glanced towards Edmund.
”You said this was a code mahogany-violet,” he started, confused ”Where’s-?”
Link was a smart guy, and he knew his teammates well. He’d barely started asking the question before he realised what must have happened, eyes drifting to the werelynx’s stomach.
”Stupid question,” he sighed ”Is there a way we can get her to... you know... bring him up again?”
He grimaced at those last words, knowing that such a sight certainly wouldn’t be pretty. It had to be done. Link knew his science, so did Addison. There had to be some emetic substances they could give Ivory if need be. Safe ones though, of course. Not that he knew much about werelynx physiology. Presumably anything one could give to a regular lynx could be given to Ivory, right?
He was getting ahead of himself. First they had to address the immediate threat that was a bloodthirsty Ivory. There would be no figuring out how to get Peril out of her if Nyx couldn’t put her to sleep.

Teylie Cedar Mallows | Mender "like branches on a tree, we may grow in different directions, yet our roots remain the same," Teylie immediately stood to attention, completely erasing all thoughts of the game at hand from mind as she stood at caution, prepared for a healing touch at any moment. She gave a firm nod towards Edmund as she waited in cautious, forming a piece of the circle around the girl. In the corner of her eyes did she watch and see the little alien appear out of thin air, likely meaning they had been on the lookout for the flag before the emergency was called out. She tried not to get disturbed at the sight of the tiny creature suddenly growing to the size of a bear, even though they were as equally gel-like and see-through as ever, if not more from being stretched out like that. How her species almost overtook the planet, Teylie was still unsure. On the other side of her, she saw as Akemi was floating downwards on darkened clouds, glaring ever so lightly at the woman who was walking on the ground, fire held out in front of her to see through the fog she had caused. Teylie supposed Akemi was both upset by the abrupt end to the game where he neither won nor loss, although given his glare at Libelle specifically, she supposed he lost out on the fit as well. No matter, as they both fell into the circle being formed, waiting for their leader to take action. Teylie supposed this was true teamwork in any case, the exercise likely not in too much vein.

Ivory Lince local furry
A wild animal faced with threats was a danger that not many could control, especially when it came to an animal such as a werelynx. The rage inside her was deadly, that had been proven time and time again. She was deadly, her kill count higher than she herself even wanted to know by now, and if something didn't stop her soon, that count would only get higher.
Even though the main threat had been taken care of, Ivory could sense that more trouble was on the way, and it wasn't long until her intuition had been proven correct.
The sharp sound of clashing metal echoed in her ears. It was harsh, her ears flattening tighter against her skull in an attempt to cut off some of the noise. It didn't make it go away, and that only angered her further. She wanted the noise to be gone, but yet it continued on, driving uncomfortable shivers up her spine and down her entire body. It needed to go away. She needed to get rid of whatever, or whoever, was causing that noise.
On swift paws she turned to face the direction in which the noise was coming from. It didn't take her but a few seconds to find the source of the noise, and instantly she prepared herself for an outright attack on the human.
There was no semblance of recognition in her mind right now. This person was just a nuisance to her right now, nothing more. He wasn't a teammate to her, he wasn't a friend, he wasn't anybody she had a relationship with in the slightest. To the beast, this person was nothing more than somebody in her way, somebody that was destined to become yet another murder on her part.
Ivory let out a growl as she stared the man down, eyes narrowed, fur bristling, and fangs exposed. She took her eyes off him for just a moment, catching sight of the others beginning to form a circle around her - she would deal with those threats later. Right now she needed to get rid of the incessant ringing that this nuisance was making.
Turning her attention back on the main problem, Ivory got down on all fours and charged forward, her only intent at the moment to destroy and kill anything in her way.

Edmund Pendragon AKA White Knight
As his team began to narrow in on his position, Edmund kept his eyes firmly planted on Ivory, dodging out of the way of her claws as he tucked himself in behind his shield and rolled to the right. Edmund didn’t allow himself a moment’s rest as he jumped back to his feet and tightened his grip on Excalibur, he knew he couldn’t use the sword to attack, and he didn’t want to hurt Ivory, even in this state, but he could still use it as a distraction.
Clashing his sword against his shield again, Edmund waited for Ivory to charge before jumping right under her and rolling to the other side in one swift, fluid movement, turning for only a moment to see which of his teammates had begun to gather around him.
”Link’s right, for those of you unaware, Peril is...well, being digested,” Edmund admitted, turning back towards Ivory as he signaled for the others to get into position, ”We’ll need to get her to throw up before we knock her out,” he added and pressed down on his comm. ”Nyx, hold back for now, I’ll tell you when to go,” he informed her.
”Right, I’ll look out from above,” Nyx commented, flying past Edmund and into the sky on a path of golden sand.
With that taken care of, Edmund steadied himself for Ivory again. ”Libelle, Juniper, Margot, Nimul stay in front of her, confuse her, distract her, try to wear her out, but don’t hurt her,” he instructed, gesturing with a point of his sword for them to take their places. ”Akemi, Addison, Hailey, Ebony, you three stay in the back and make sure she doesn’t try to run, Link, I need you to figure out how we can get her to throw Peril up,” he instructed, listing off orders as easily as it took for him to breath.
”Once we have that figured out, I’ll get her to throw up and that’s when Nyx can knock her out,” Edmund finished, talking in between his movements as he tried to keep Ivory distracted until everyone else could get into position.

Link watched as Edmund began to give his instructions to the rest of the group on their next move. They had to get Lynx to bring Peril back up before anything else could be done. The problem was, such a thing would be easier said than done.
Upon hearing her instructions, Margot had nodded and gotten into position as she’d been told, prepared to help distract the vicious werelynx.
”Got it,” she’d said confidently
If there was one person on the team the daughter of Apollo always listened to, it was Edmund. She owed everything to him, not that she’d ever admit that.
When Link heard his own instructions he froze, eyes widening for a second.
”You want me to-?” Link began questioning in disbelief, gesturing to himself ”are you sure?”
He supposed it made sense. He wasn’t of much use when it came to a werelynx, after all, so it was best he not focus on trying to stop Ivory getting away. But still, it seemed to be a lot of responsibility to be placing on possibly the youngest and in general least competent member of the team. Link wasn’t anything special like the others, after all. And Addison was just as smart, if not smarter.
”You’ll make him a lot less sure if you keep dithering, kid!” Margot pointed out as she started stamping her feet in as much an effort to confuse Ivory as she could muster ”Ask questions later.”
She was right, Link was aware. He has to think of something and he had to think of it now. Unfortunately, there was only one method he knew of that might work without doing Ivory any harm, and it might not be the easiest to administer.
”Okay I know of something that might work, but I have to go back to get it.” Link explained ”You’ll have to hold her for a few minutes.”
With that, the young man disappeared, running back to the house as fast as his legs could carry him. He wasn’t much of a runner but thankfully being tall gave him a long stride, which was one advantage. He would get to the house as quickly as possible and get back with a cure that hopefully would work.
At least, he assumed what would work on domestic pets like dogs could be assumed to work on a werelynx. He didn’t have another option, anyway. Hydrogen peroxide solution was the way to go. Or at least the only thing he knew of that might have a hope of working.

Libelle Blaise Ledoux | Blazing Star "i am not afraid... i was born to do this," - joan of arc Libelle didn't bother with the outwards confirmation of command, choosing instead to slide into position to do the job ascribed. She moved her arm upwards to gain some semblance of attention from Ivory and lit it on fire to hopefully gain a tad bit more. After all, Libelle could indeed work as a distraction.
It was a step down from whatever Nimul was doing, Libelle had to admit. The alien creature had taken to a much closer approach to the matter, flickering in and out of sight, occasionally poking Ivory. The lucky little creature certainly found it easy to do so, with little harm to herself at any rate.
Overall, there wasn't much else to do but wait. She could vaguely see Teylie standing off to the side, likely in wait for someone to be injured. Or perhaps, not so much in wait for that, and more so in caution if, say, Nimul was too slow at disappearing or Ivory went on to attack directly and someone got injured who didn't have super healing properties. Akemi, on the other hand, seemed to be waiting on some self-made thunderclouds in watch for Ivory's movements.
Yeah, not much else to do until Link came back or Ivory attacked.

Ivory Lince local furry
It had been a long time since Ivory had allowed herself to fall this deep into the lynx. Honestly, it had been so long that she had forgotten just how nice it felt. When she was the lynx there was so much more she could do. She was quicker, stronger, able to really dive deep into that natural side that Ivory had always loved. Despite having been born nothing more than a normal human, Ivory felt more like herself as the lynx. She felt like that was who she truly was.
So why, then, did she not allow herself to just fall deep into the lynx? She had before, and for years she had lived her own life out in the wilderness. Back then she had been alone, living in a world where she felt the most comfortable. She had been wild and free, not trapped by walls of concrete and not consumed by the overwhelming scents and sounds of a bustling city she had no part of being around. Sure, there were parts of that time where she deeply regretted it, and the remorse she felt in her human side of the brain for that would never leave her, but for the most part, back when she had been on her own, things had been better. Things had been so easy for her. So natural. Now...now she was stuck in the city, the one place she had always hated. Ivory hated the place. Hated the noises and the smells, the overall atmosphere and how things felt rushed. She hated how crowded it was, how many people populated a single area at once. She wasn't happy in Chicago. So why had she even decided to come to the city? What made her throw away everything she loved? She had left something important to her, had left what made Ivory truly herself.
Her attention landed on Edmund as he moved around.
For a split second, there was a semblance of coming back into her senses, Ivory's more human side taking hold over the feral side.
She had decided to leave her place in the mountains because of Edmund. She had realized that where ever he was was home to her.
This moment didn't last long, though. For as wonderful as it would have been if the power of love worked to calm a feral beast down, that wasn't the case here. Instead, Ivory's feral side once again overpowered her more human. It had been a long time since that side had taken charge, and it wasn't about to back down so easily now. It wanted to stay in charge, and with it front and center, Ivory wanted to keep it that way.
Though, there was a difference in her behavior now. She continued snapping and snarling at the people running around and causing a scene around her, but she no longer made any true motions to attack. Fur bristling, she started to back off, stepping away from the noise and humans as they moved erratically or made noises that only bled into the background noises of the city in the distance. It was all becoming too much. Noises were starting to hurt, the smells were starting to choke her out, and the mere feeling of not having thick, woodland grasses underneath her hands sent a sick shiver up her limbs and through her entire body.
If this was a one on one fight, she would have taken out the enemy and then made a run for it, but Ivory was aware that she was surrounded. Rather than her mind focus on attacking, it began to focus on running and hiding.
Unfortunately, there wasn't really anywhere for her to go, and it didn't help that she had a pesky alien prodding at her every so often.
The werelynx snapped toward the creature after the most recent poke. She shook her head and, with a snort, began to back off, crouching more into herself as a form of retreat rather than a stance of attack. Every so often she would give off growls toward the people nearby, warning them that she would still attack if they tried anything, but she was focused mostly on getting away at this point. In her feral mind all she had to do was back off, wait in hiding - or hide as best as she could in the case considering she wasn't in a vast forest - and then, eventually, find a way out of this city and head for the wilderness. There she could roam free and wild once more, be happy again, and live how a feral lynx should live.

Link rushed as quickly as he was able back to the house, skidding through the hallways. He wasn’t athletically inclined but he was tall and had a long stride, which meant while running wasn’t his thing he wasn’t completely terrible at it.
The young male crashed into the area of the house containing the lab spaces that he and Addison were known to use with frequency. From there it wasn’t hard for him to find the hydrogen peroxide and put together a solution of a decent concentration. It might not be healthy for Ivory but it was the only thing that had a shot of working since the advice with domestic pets was to take them to vets and that wasn’t an option with Ivory.
With the solution in hand, it was several minutes before he returned, breathless and panting, back to the group, wordlessly and with a heaving chest, hands planted on his knees, he lifted up the solution so everyone could see it.
With that, he then looked at the circle of heroes around him and the clearly frightened Ivory.
”Getting the solution was the easy part.” He admitted ”I need people to help me get her to swallow this stuff.”
He didn’t think it would be easy to get this solution into Ivory, and he certainly didn’t think it was a one-person job. Certainly not with those claws and teeth.
Margot twirled her sword in her hand but stepped slightly back, clearly to indicate she did not desire to offer to be part of the team helping but she would have their backs if she needed them to. She made sure not to leave an open space for Ivory to escape, though. Margot was happy to help make the lynx take the solution if nobody else wanted to, but she’d rather let everyone else have a chance at the opportunity if possible.
Link looked hopefully around the group for volunteers, swallowing nervously. He didn’t much fancy getting close to Ivory’s mouth. He had no powers, and was in fact not exactly the bravest or strongest person in the world. Certainly not the kind of person who could really afford to be getting up close and personal with any kind of feral wildlife. The thought of doing this was a little terrifying in all honesty.
But Edmund had asked him to get the emetic solution. Edmund clearly had some kind of faith in Link, and the young man didn’t want to disappoint him in any way. Not after everything Edmund and The Knight’s Watch had done for him. He needed to prove that he - both Link and Hyperlink - deserved to be part of the team.

Edmund Pendragon AKA White Knight
Looking over the situation, Edmund reacted fast. They needed her to eat it, they could manage this. ”Nimul, work with Link and get her to swallow that, the rest of us will do damage control, Nyx, you stay at the ready, as soon as she throws Peril up, I want you to put her to sleep before she can eat anyone else,” he ordered, tightening his grip over his sword.
”Right, I’m on it,” Nyx responded, flying past him on a glittery surfboard made of sand as she circled on the sky, hovering close enough by Ivory to jump in at a moments notice.
Edmund nodded in approval. ”Addison, try to tie her feet, it would be easier for the rest of us if she wasn’t so mobile,” he added, casting a glance towards his youngest second in command.
Addison gave him a nod in response and reached pressed a button on her sleeves, instantly causing long, robotic ropes to shoot out towards Ivory’s legs, and once she got a grip of them, she took to the air and flew around Ivory a few times, tying her up.
”Nimul, Link, it’s up to you now,” Edmund called, gesturing with his sword for the two of them to take charge.
Bleh sorry this is gross, I’m tired, it’s 4am, and I have no idea what to type because Edmund is mostly just giving orders and all that stuff.

Nimul | Spectre "too alien for earth, too human for outer space," - rune lazuli Once Ivory started to back off, Nimul didn't follow. For all it was worth, Nimul did understand a difference in animal's stance and position. Even if Ivory wasn't truly an animal and Nimul was accustomed to all of earth's animals yet. But a creature in fear, sentient or not, had few reactions to a threat. Ivory was no longer going to dart for anyone if Nimul left Ivory be for a few minutes, and Nimul no longer had to tease to try and contain the attention. Plus, Nimul didn't always favor changing Nimul's solidity in the world in such a rapid pace as Nimul had been doing, but Nimul was aware enough that staying untouchable wouldn't hold Ivory's attention for long and that staying a physical being would lead to Nimul's body being snapped in half. Nimul wasn't favorable to that. So Nimul hung around in the air, floating in a circle around Ivory far enough to avoid any outbursts, yet allowing the alien to still dart in if needed to get Ivory's attention once more. Which didn't seem to be closely needed as Link arrived back into the group with whatever it was Link had gone to grab that would help out. And then, Nimul was given instructions by Edmund to help Link. So Nimul made a quick flight towards Link. Nimul held out Nimul's two front paws in order to get the solution from Link, with a tilt to the head and a voice that said, "Nimul can get the solution to Ivory, no need to worry!" A reassurance to the nervous human boy. With that in hand, and Edmund calling for Nimul and Link to do their thing, and Nimul adjusted Nimul's paw size to grasp the solution better. And as Nimul started to fly back towards Ivory, tied up thanks to Addison, Nimul had to contemplate the how of Nimul getting Ivory to take the solution. Nimul had the benefit of the idea that Ivory would snap at Nimul due to Nimul's previous attempts to bother Ivory. But, Nimul didn't want to get bitten by the werelynx. So, Nimul supposed Nimul would have to hope for the best as Nimul charged for Ivory's mouth directly. After all, if Ivory would open Ivory's mouth to snap at Nimul while Nimul was darting directly inside, Nimul could shrink small enough to fit in the mouth whilst carrying the solution, and once the solution was solidly in Ivory's mouth, Nimul could go invisible and immediately move back to safety largely unharmed whilst Ivory ate Link's solution.

Link listened to Edmund’s instructions, giving a nod to indicate his understanding when he was told to work with Nimul to try and get Ivory to take the hydrogen peroxide solution.
”You got it, Mr Pendragon.” Link responded to his leader
He swallowed as his gaze settled on the werelynx. He was nervous, which was understandable in his eyes but perhaps wasn’t ideal for someone who was supposed to be a superhero.
He remembered when he’d first met Edmund. He’d been young, and absolutely terrified. The chip he’d developed and implanted into himself had turned out to be valuable to the wrong kids of people, who were willing to hurt him if that was what it took to get the thing from his body. But Edmund had stepped in to help him, and Link remembered being in awe of him. This guy was older, and he was cool, and seemed to have everything together.
Honestly originally he had thought it had maybe been more out of pity than out of anything he could really offer the team that he’d been given the chance to join. But even though he wasn’t the strongest on the team, he’d still come a long way and he was beginning to see the potential Edmund must have seen in him then.
But he needed to start living up to his potential, he was now realising. He couldn’t hold back out of fear.
Still, Nimul approached and offered to administer the solution herself. Link took advantage of that offer, knowing that there wasn’t much he could do here that Nimul couldn’t just do herself. It was best to let Nimul shine and do her thing at this point. So with that in mind, he happily handed over the emetic solution to his teammate.
So he watched Nimul approach the werelynx, before suddenly feeling a strong hand on his shoulder as Margot reached forward to pull him behind her, sword still at the ready to protect them both should anything go wrong.

Wendy Skyes "birds with broken wings often try to help each other fly" - matt baker The sun was bright today. It was nice to bask in at the least.
Wendy didn't know what she was doing out today. There was no purpose to going outside, no groceries to buy or people to visit. So, here she was, wheeling herself through the city's park. She supposed it wasn't all that bad to be breathing fresh air without a purpose, other than to just enjoy life.
Parking her wheelchair next to a bench, she took a minute to look up the news on her phone. A bank robbery... or rather an attempted bank robbery, had occurred previously today. Whilst the villain hadn't been caught, it didn't seem like a loss for the side of the law. Everything else was rather normal though, so Wendy supposed it was a slow day for heroes.
Putting her phone back away, she sighed, considering the thought of heading home so early in the day. There just wasn't much for her to be inspired to do anymore, might as well relegate herself to her home.
But... she supposed she could sit out here for a few minutes more.

ÈMILIE ‘EMMIE’ GAUMONT - AKA MYRIAD (RIP I don’t have a header for her yet)
Growing up a family of superpowered individuals was not what one would call easy. Being the oldest sister wasn’t exactly a walk in the park either. Combine the two, and one came something close to understanding the experience of Emmie Gaumont.
She was one of the few members of the family who didn’t have powers, which sucked in itself. There was definitely some resentment there that she held, some jealousy for her superpowered siblings, but she kept that hidden as much as she could. They didn’t need to know about that. As the oldest sibling, it was her job to keep everything together. Especially since their father had died.
She couldn’t let them know how much she struggled.
So, the moment she’d left for college she’d turned to vigilantism. After all, one didn’t need powers to be a hero. A good disguise was just as good as any superpower, as she’d discovered, and she was more than capable of doing that. Her skills in makeup and costume design were second to none.
She’d created quite a stir as the mysterious vigilante Myriad, who seemed able to blend in and slip by unnoticed anywhere. Nobody knew what she looked like, and no description of her agreed on what she looked like; she looked different every time.
It was for the best that she kept it all quiet from her family. Her mother was vocally against heroes after the loss of Emmie’s father, and Emmie’s brother Humphrey was equally as vocal about him being a hero and following in his father’s footsteps. It caused their mother no end of stress and worry.
The last thing Emmie wanted to do was add to that. Especially since she was supposed to be the grown-up, the responsible one. The big sister.
The 20-year-old pulled up her little banged-up car (she swore she wasn’t a terrible driver, the car was old and banged-up when she’d gotten it) outside their family home, pushing open the doors and stepping out into the evening air.
It was a relatively mild evening, the air still and light. The sky was a purplish-blue, the first stars littering the sky, and the streetlights were beginning to flicker on, pooling golden light on the shadowy ground.
Emmie pushed the car door closed behind her, retrieving her case from the boot. As she did so, she had to pause to shove something that was sticking halfway out of the case back inside, zipping it securely back up. Her mask, the mask she wore as Myriad. She couldn’t let her siblings, mother or grandmother see that.
With that done, she headed towards the door, pulling the suitcase behind her, comforted by the sound of it rolling steadily along.
The girl took a deep breath, preparing to see her family for the first time in a couple of months. College had been so busy, it had been so hard to keep in touch, never mind to get home for a while. But she finally had plenty of time off.
She smiled at the golden light spilling through the windows, fumbling for a moment with her keys before finally unlocking the front door, pushing it open and lugging her things inside before shutting out the darkening evening.
“Hello?” she called out into the empty hallway “Mama? Humphrey? Rory?”
She reached to put her keys into the little bowl that sat on the hallway table. She knew it wouldn’t be long before Humphrey, Rory, Monty or Tinsley were all over her. She’d missed them a lot, and she at least hoped the feeling was mutual. She was at least relieved to see they hadn’t burned the place down while she was gone.
”Je suis là!” the girl shouted out again

Humphrey Gaumont AKA Arcane
The City
Gaumont House
Sometimes, when life really got you down, all you could do was put on some comfortable headphones, and jam out to some 80s rock music while trying to draw on your bed, and that was exactly what Humphrey was doing.
He rocked his head back and forth, tapping the eraser part of his pencil against his sketch pad, completely zoned out to the rest of the world around him as he quietly sang the lyrics to “We’re Not Gonna Take It” by Twisted Sister.
”We’ve got the right to choose it, there ain’t no way we’ll lose it, this is our life, this is our song...” unbeknownst to Humphrey, as he was getting into the groove of the song, eyes closed and swaying back and forth on his bed, his powers were getting into the movement as well.
There were a lot of upsides to having such powerful magic such as primordial chaos, however, despite having his powers for ten years, Humphrey was still getting used to just how powerful and in tune to his own emotions they could be.
For example...
”We’ll fight the power that be just, don’t pick our destiny ‘cause, you don’t know us, you don’t belo-“ he quiet singing was quickly cut off by a yelp of surprise as his pencil suddenly changed into a snake and slithered up his arm.
Humphrey blinked and looked up, eyes growing wide as he realized just how much of his room he had subconsciously been changing while he sang.
His bed was hovering three feet in the air, the mirror in his room had turned into some kind of space portal, his pencil sharpener had completely combusted, and the light in his room was now three Minecraft torches strapped together.
Lowering his headphones down to his neck, Humphrey took a deep breath, extended his arms out, and closed his eyes. ”Pére, s'il te plait laisse ça marche...” He whispered under his breath for good luck, and just like that, he whisked his arms through the air, motioning like conductor to stop the music, and within moments, his room returned to normal.
The mirror once again became reflective, pixel fire had returned to lightbulbs, his pencil sharpener was put back together, the snake wrapped around his shoulder fell down his sleeve in the form of a pencil, and his bed...his bed...oh no.
Just like that, his bed fell back down to the floor with a loud “thump” and a crash.
Humphrey yelped again, pillows and blankets going everywhere as his bed hit the floor.
Once he had regained himself, he pushed a pillow off his head and quickly scanned his room, making sure it was completely back to normal before letting out a small sigh of relief and leaning back against the wall. ”Well, I think that’s enough of that for now...” he muttered to himself and pushed the sketchbook away from him.
Then, in the distance, he heard a familiar call.
Instantly his ears perked up as he furrowed his brow. ”Emmie?” He whispered, and upon realizing who it was, he jumped off his bed and swung his door open. ”Emmie! You’re back!” He greeted with a smile as he rushed down the hallway to meet her. ”J’ai tellement manqué!”

ÈMILIE ‘EMMIE’ GAUMONT - AKA MYRIAD (RIP I don’t have a header for her yet)
It wasn’t long after she called out that Humphrey came barrelling down the hallway, the girl promptly putting her suitcase to one side so she could greet her little brother with a hug.
“Hey, Hummer!” Emmie smiled as she released her brother. She called him that for several reasons; it was short for Humphrey, and he liked his music. If he wasn’t singing along to some 80s song, he was probably humming it.
She loved her younger siblings, even if being the oldest sister was a lot of pressure. She had the weight of everything on her shoulders when it came to the family, even more so when it came to the divide between her mother and Humphrey when it came to the use of powers. Emmie not having any powers herself and feeling somewhat jealous of her siblings that did wasn’t exactly helping either.
She couldn’t tell them her secret; that she’d turned to vigilantism even though
Still, she ruffled Humphrey’s hair, though she was rather annoyed at how tall he was getting.
”Humphrey Gaumont, I told you I was going to get mad if you doing stop getting so damn tall.” she teased, before adding “I missed you too, frangin.”
She had missed her siblings desperately while she was gone; it was strange coming from a house with so many siblings to living away at university, even if she had still been living with other people. Thankfully the family group chat had filled some gaps; her siblings always had something funny to message her when she was having a bit of a rough day.
“How’ve you been? Not getting up to anything too stupid, I trust?” she questioned in that big sisterly way. She knew he scared their mother sometimes, in all honesty.
Talking of the rest of the family, she was surprised to have not heard anything yet. Their grandmother was an exception; she often preferred to wait until the fuss was over and greet people later. But the rest of the siblings and their mother? Very unusual.
“Where’s Mama and the others?” she asked

Humphrey Gaumont AKA Arcane
The City
Gaumont House
It was nice to see Emmie again, although the timing was a little odd, but Humphrey wasn’t going to question it. Instead he laughed and smiled and glanced down at her before looking up, brushing his hand along the top of his hair. ”Don’t worry, I think I’m about done growing now,” he reassured her lightly.
He knew he was tall...At least tall for his family. The last time he measured himself, he was roughly around 5’10, and he doubted he had grown much since then, maybe an inch or so more, but now, at eighteen, Humphrey felt reasonably sure he had stopped.
Moving further into the room, Humphrey paused when Emmie asked him how he had been. He hadn’t quite told anyone yet, but as he learned how to control his powers more, Humphrey had also begun considering a more literal sense of following in his father’s footsteps.
It...it hadn't been something he originally planned for.
However, not that long ago, there has been a building on fire, collapsing in on itself. The people in there were going to die, he...he acted off of instinct and saving them...saving them felt right, like it was what he had to do, what he was made to do, and why, he of all people, had been given his father’s powers.
Maybe he was meant to be the next Arcane.
”Heh, no, you know me, I’m as boring as they come,” he joked lightly, not meeting her eyes. He knew he should tell his family, after all, his siblings had their own powers, and his mother had been in the superhero business as well.
And...and if it really was what his father wanted for him, he knew it was something he had to do.
”I haven’t seen the others in a bit, I guess everyone has mostly been keeping to themselves,” Humphrey added with a casual shrug, glancing around for a moment. ”Mama! Monty! Tinsley! Rory! Mami! Emmie’s here!” Humphrey called loudly, cupping his hands around his mouth as he shouted for the rest of the family. He wasn’t entirely sure where any of them were, but it was safe to assume most were somewhere in the home.
”How has school been?” He asked, turning his attention back to Emmie. It was still weird, having Emmie off at college and not at home with the rest of them, but as long as she was happy and enjoying herself, Humphrey was happy for her.
