L E G A C Y also known as: Addison Starling
Okay, Addison would admit that she was pretty impressed by Roller’s effortless dodge out of the way, not to mention: he did it in style and that instantly earned a good amount of points from her.
Folding her arms, she gave a small nod of approval to the bat boy. ”Not bad, Bat man, I like your moves, don’t tell me you’ve been taking dance classes without me,” she joked with a grin. ”I’m hurt, you should’ve contacted me if you needed a partner,” she continued lightheartedly.
Honestly, she probably shouldn’t be this teasing and chummy with someone that literally just robbed a bank but at the same time, it was Roller and Addison enjoyed his company, he was a fun guy...a fun guy that turned to crime, and that was bad, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t be on friendly terms at the very least.
Listening to the song that he picked, Addison couldn’t help but grin, letting out a chuff of laughter. ”Now, Roller, if you needed a hero so badly, you didn’t have to do all this just to get my attention,” she said with a light shake of her head. ”Well, I’m here now, and I think it’s time we wrapped this up,” she stated and ran towards him, blaster at the ready again, Jukebox changing the song to “Take on me” by a-ha.
It seemed fitting for a fight.
Now, Addison would admit that she was not putting nearly as much effort into this as she probably should, and her attempt at an attack wasn’t all that great, but her main goal in this case was to just get the money away from Roller, after that she could work everything else out.
”You know, Roller, you’ve actually got real talent,” Addison continued, going right for the money this time instead of him. ”You could do so much better than robbing banks, heck, you’d probably even make a half decent knight,” she told him, moving around to the beat of the music all the while trying to get the money away from him.
It was the truth too, Roller had a lot of unique qualities that would probably serve him well as a fellow knight...though Addison wasn’t sure how everyone else would feel about that, it wasn’t like they were a reform center for goofy Doofenshmirtz-esque villains, and while some of them were a little more sketchy than others - she was metaphorically looking at you, Peril - they were still...well, at least as far as she knew, none of them made a living by robbing banks.
But still, Addison would vouch for Roller if he ever did decide to change his behavior and turn over a new leaf.

Hailey Penn also known as: Pixie
Honestly, Hailey was thrilled at the chance to take the lead. She wasn’t a natural born leader or anything like that, and quite frankly, she didn’t want to be responsible for others.
But this wasn’t life or death, this was just capture the flag with a bunch of super powered heathens...okay so maybe it was life or death, but this time it was fun and that made all the difference.
Grinning smugly at Akemi, Hailey moved forward to pick first. There were a lot of good options here. Juniper would be a good choice if she could use her powers, Libelle would be a pretty good option too, so would Margot and Edmund, even Janet had some cool enough abilities that she’d be a good choice.
Frowning thoughtfully, Hailey scanned over everyone at the table as she contemplated who to choose first.
That’s when her gaze fell upon her older brother.
Hector was waiting patiently by the wall, finishing off the last of his hot cocoa. He had that sort of smug expectancy in his eyes that he got sometimes. Like he already know what she was going to pick him just because they were “siblings” and “blood related” and all that, and while sure, Peril was a little maniac and would actually probably be helpful to have on her team, he was also well...a little maniac and Hailey had to deal with him enough as it was.
Finally making up her mind, Hailey maintained eye contact with Hector. ”I pick....” She paused for a moment, watching as Hector casually held onto his purple mug and waited. ”Libelle,” she said and watched as shock spread across her brother’s visage.
”Wait, what?” Hector started, placing his mug on the table as he looked at her. ”You’re picking Libelle over me? But I’m your brother-“ He started and Hailey let out an impish laugh.
”Yeah but you’re forgetting that this is powers, I’m not picking Libelle over you-“ Well she was but that wasn’t the point here. ”I’m picking her over Peril, I deal with that dude enough as it is, it’s someone else’s turn,” she explained and folded her arms.
Hector seemed to continue this for a moment before he grumbled and rolled up his sleeves to reveal the two wristbands implanted into both of his wrists, each one was a dull gray color with a bright purple button in the center. ”Someone else’s turn, I’d like to see you tell that to Peril yourself,” he grumbled and Hailey would admit, she was enjoying this a little too much.
He pressed down on the buttons and almost instantly began to change.
Watching him shift used to be disturbing, but Hailey had grown used to it by now and waited patiently for the purple creature that was kind of her brother to reveal himself.
Which luckily, didn’t take long and soon enough Peril stood where Hector used to be, at least a foot shorter than her brother and completely purple.
”Just so you know, I heard everything and I gotta admit, I am distraught,” Peril started dramatically, jumping up on top of the table. ”Here I thought I would be top pick, especially by my own sister-“
”Not your sister-“
”Shut up, I’m being dramatic,”
Hailey shrugged and obliged, falling quiet to give Peril the room to do whatever it was he wanted to do.
Which apparently was sprawl out on the table like a cat and kick a couple mugs off onto the floor. ”I have been rejected by the one closest to me, I don’t think I’ll ever, ever be able to go on...” he paused for a moment, dramatically placing the back of his hand on his forehead to emphasize his point.
However after that he seemed to get over it pretty quickly and jumped back to his feet. ”Ah well, guess that means its you ‘n me, dragon boy,” he stated and instantly flung himself right over at Akemi, somehow managing to grab hold of him and cling to him without falling or slipping at all.
Curling his legs up to cling to him a little better, Peril smiled impishly at Akemi and slowly climbed up until he was clinging to his chest and looking right up at him. ”Has anyone ever told you that you have lovely eyes?” He asked in that annoying “I’m a pest” voice that he was oh so good at.
”He could pick someone else too, just so you know,” Hailey called out to him, shaking her head.
Peril let out a gasp and reached a hand up to gently pet Akemi’s cheek. ”Blasphemy!” He declared and patted Akemi’s cheek. ”Akemi would never betray me like you have,” he decided and stuck his long, forked tongue out at Hailey like a lizard.

Juniper Crane
Juniper would make a fantastic villain. Villains didn't need to work in teams, they didn't need a cemented schedule, and they certainly didn't need to be waken up at 6 am by a phone notification telling her she needed to show up to a 'team meeting' that morning when she had a toddler worm who needed to be watched. Okay that wasn't fair. Joy wasn't a worm, more like a needy puppy. A really cute, needy puppy. Sighing, she tossed her blankets to the side and sat up, rubbing her temples. This was not going to be easy.
She could drop Joy off at preschool and make it to the Knight Hall in time, but that would only cover her until noon. And knowing how good the team was at communicating efficiently, she needed more time than that. She picked up her phone- and paused. She could call her dad. She knew he didn't mind watching Joy, and he was the only person in her life who knew about her second job at the Knight Watch. But she wasn't sure she was ready for the lecture.
For all the stereotyping of dotting moms, the media often overlooked the much worse dotting dad. Any time Juniper called her father, it was the strangest mix of "oh look at my little angel fighting crime" and "when am I going to get those grandbabies from my oldest and favorite daughter". It was the worst, and it somehow got ten times worse when ever she brought up Joy. She wasn't even allowed to use her job as an excuse. Anytime she brought up the fact that she was too busy saving the literal world to settle down and have a family he'd just throw back "Annabelle's a cop. She's saving the world, and she manages her family". Her family which she just abandoned with me so she could go on a relaxing vacation with her husband to San Diego, she thought.
She let out a huff. The fact that she was getting into an imaginary argument with her father was enough to convince her to call Fiona instead. Her and her ex had broken up on surprisingly good terms just the past year and were part of the minority group that actually "stayed friends". More importantly, Juniper knew that Fiona would take a bullet for Joy, and certainly wouldn't mind watching her this afternoon. After getting confirmation that her friend was indeed free, she texted her sister.
'Hey a work emergency just came up and I have to go in today. Fiona is picking up Joy, she'll send you updates every few hours like usual."
She was a little ashamed that 'a work emergency' was the best excuse she could come up with. It was so vague, any normal human being would ask for more details. But knowing Annabelle's knowledge of the art world Juniper could tell her that someone spilled coffee on the Mona Lisa and her sister wouldn't bat an eye. Sighing, she quickly checked on Joy before getting ready for the day.
Being a member of the few people who didn't live in the Knight Hall meant that Juniper was always a little late to meetings- or at least a little late when it came to the context of meetings. So when she took her mug of hot chocolate from Hubert she was prepared for anything to escape Libelle's mouth.
Team building, she groaned internally. Maybe the fact that she could remember half of the team's real names meant that team building was exactly the thing she needed, but at the moment it just sounded like a pain. Even worse it was capture the flag. She hadn't played capture the flag since elementary school.
As the others debated team leaders and order, Juniper let her eyes scan the room. There were a few obvious choices- Snapshot, who's magic camera could teleport anyone to a specific location and back, seemed like an easy choice, same with Edmund. Surely the first pick would be their team leader? She liked to think she was on that list of good choices- after all snapping someone's ankle would be a pretty efficient way of stopping them- and if her leader also chose that healer chick there'd be no way to get them back up on their feet.
As Libelle was chosen first and Peril did... whatever it was that Peril does, a thought popped up in the back of her mind.
"Uh am I allowed to use my powers?" she asked. "I know you totally said 'powers are okay' but like, I don't want to snap all of your ankles and leave the team sore and broken if there's a threat to the world or city or whatever."

Kitaki Akemi | Thunderstorm "lightning makes no sound until it strikes," - martin luther king jr. While waiting for Hailey to pick her brother to be part of her team, Akemi was studying everyone else as to discern what would be the best idea to go up against the fairy gal. Of course, that was very abruptly cut sort amongst the shock over the fact that Hailey picked Libelle instead. He had to stifle his laughter in the hot chocolate he had, which ended up looking more like slight choking, but all the better. It was certainly surprising and suddenly Akemi wondered if that was part of her new diabolical plan. Catch him off guard by not picking her brother first. He wondered if this was a dare to pick Hector and Peril instead. He grinned.Of course, it was super amusing to see Hector and Peril's reactions to Hailey's betrayal. It was difficult not to let some chuckles slide out in the process as Peril made a very compelling and dramatic argument against Hailey. He was glad he was quick enough to catch the being who ended up barreling himself at Akemi, all in good sport. With an absolute grin as Peril directed words at him, Akemi winked and responded, "Has anyone ever told you how much I love the color purple?"At Hailey's awful insinuation that Akemi would leave Peril to the saddened fate as Hailey had done, Akemi scoffed in disbelief. "Yeah, come on Hailey, I would never hurt Peril like that, I love Peril! In which, I hereby declare and claim Peril for my team!" He tried to move the purple demon-fae closer to him in order to further the claim.
Then there was a slight pause in the chaos as Juniper popped in with a question. Hmm. Perhaps he should have waited an extra moment and then reasoned out with Peril that he'd pick him right after they got the bone-breaker. Akemi's eyes flashed to either Libelle or Edmund over the matter since that did seem like a huge decision sort of deal that was actually important. Cause while Akemi dealt a lot with storms and you bet he wanted to make the place a slippery slope of the training ground for an advantage, it was a lot less harmful than Juniper's power. What Akemi wasn't expecting was Teylie to jump in over the matter, "It shouldn't be an issue overall. Even if someone gets injured in the process, they can be healed once the round is finished.""And in the case that anyone would rather not be broken, they're free to say so, if you don't mind being careful about that," Libelle added in. Akemi supposed that made sense in a sort of make it fair kind of sense. Breaking all your enemies ankle's in a battle made a lot of sense but in order for them to actually work as a team, he supposed whoever was against Juniper had less luck... unless the other team had Teylie to balance it out but... Oof. (speed roll to react to catch peril : d20+5 = 16)

Mickey M. | Roller "science never solves a problem without creating ten more" - george bernard shaw "What can I say? Couldn't find you when I signed up," Roller returned, chuckling at the compliment. "You happen to be a good dancer or do you need the lessons as well?" He offered as a question, unsure which bet to actually take. Not that it was that important, but she was the one who brought it up, so it didn't hurt to know the experience she even had in such matter. In the case dancing ever did become important, he'd need someone to call upon, he supposed. Even if the likelihood of that happening felt disappointingly small. He wasn't even sure how or why they'd team up dancing against some kind of threat. Oh well, Roller supposed. He should have figured her response to the song would have been that though. Still, he grinned in response and went with it. "What else would you have expected me to do, Legacy? I think I went fairly tame on the whole matter," he said. He could have added fireworks probably. ... He should add in firework next time he robbed a place in the open daylight. While they would be cool at a casual night robbery, those were definitely meant to be more down-on-the-low. Moment of thinking needed to pause as she was back after him. Even if he now needed to find time to change the song once again into something better, not that the song wasn't great, but there was a point to prove in those regards. Plus, he needed to dodge. He failed to dodge. He failed to dodge semi-nicely at least, but a fail was still a fail as far as anything went. He scrambled a little and admittedly... he sorta dropped the money bag. Which was an absolute shame but it had been the only hope for himself to actually still move otherwise. He gave something of a sad laugh as he tried to balance himself in a response to Legacy, "You say that, but I think it's a bit late for me to do anything good like that. I think I've already screwed myself over in those regards, so I might as well keep myself doing what I know how to do." His eyes glanced down at the bag of money strewn across the floor now. He frowned looking at it. He really was pathetic, stretching down this far to attempt to survive, robbing banks. He wasn't even an impressive villain by any accounts, and yet, there wasn't really another option for him anymore. So he lunged down for the bag anyway because he could at least try to keep up this little thing and get out with something. And he lunged down fast. But. Not before he glanced at his little radio box and grinned at Legacy as though he hadn't just been hit with some depressing thoughts. "The Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor started playing. P E R I L also known as: Hector Penn
Personally, Peril was very happy that the game allowed for powers, it meant he got to come out for awhile.
Happy, oi that was a little weird to think about. It wasn’t like Peril was completely unused to emotions or something like that, he had existed for a good ten-ish years by now, and he had grown and learned a lot since his first chaotic entrance into society. However it wasn’t until recently that he really...exploded with emotions.
But that’s probably just what happened when you sever you connection to the all powerful demon spirit that sort of made you by giving you some of his essence. It was like, he had been experiencing emotions through a trickle up until recently, when suddenly the dam burst and it was now a raging river of emotions that he was still trying to navigate though.
It was weird but he wasn’t complaining about it...yet.
Anyways, back to the point.
He didn’t get to come out and play with the others all that often, apparently they preferred boring Hector when they weren’t in battle. Kinda hurtful, Peril would admit, but he’d take what he could get and right now that meant a game of of...whatever capture the flag was.
Still clinging onto Akemi, Peril grinned up at him when he mentioned loving the color purple.
It was one of those brain fritzing moments, like a really excited but silence noise was going off in his head, sort of like if you were to put a lot of exclamation points together and hope they conveyed the emotion he was trying to get across.
Point was, it was a happy? Yeah happy feeling, probably, Peril was still trying to figure out what word belonged to what feeling.
Akemi loved purple, and he was purple.
So was Nimul but like, they were different purpled. Nimul was all spacey like all those galaxy paintings he had stolen-er...unlawfully borrowed once and had to return. Peril was more of a...well he wasn’t sure what kind of purple he was, he was just...purple.
”I’m purple,” he declared proudly, not sure what else to say after that.
Luckily, he didn’t have to find anything else to say as that one girl...Bone something, spoke up instead.
She didn’t live at the mansion so Peril really only saw her when they were actually fighting, he definitely did not remember her actual name, but he was pretty sure her alias was something about bones.
He tilted his head as she mentioned powers.
Right she was that one that could snap bones and stuff like that.
That would be pretty cool, he hadn’t ever had all his bones snapped before.
”Well, in that case, I pick Juniper for my team,” Hailey decided, drawing Peril’s attention to his kind of sister.
So Juniper was her name.
He’d have to try and remember that.
...He wouldn’t, but he should still probably at least try.
Crawling up onto Akemi’s back, Peril patted at his face again. ”Hey, should we get Teylie then? In case those of you that aren’t indestructible need healing?” He asked, honestly pretty proud of himself for remembering the name of the one that did all the healing stuff.
Peril didn’t really need healing. He could pretty much get wrecked in any possible way they would usually lead to death and be fine.
Just some of the perks of being Peril.
Hector couldn’t do that.
So that’s just another reason as to why Peril was way cooler than Hector, at least in his opinion he was.
Looking back to the others, Peril sent J...Jasper? - That probably wasn’t her name but he was going with it for now - an impish grin and stuck his hands out towards her. ”You have permission to break every bone in my body, which, if you ever wanna snap my bones, we don’t need to use a game as an excuse, you can snap my insides whenever you want, Boney,” He told her with a smirk.
However the smirk didn’t last long as he thought back to the game and shot a look back over at Edmund and Libelle. ”So uh, did you guys already explain what capture the flag is?”
They probably did and he just wasn’t listening. Peril kinda tapped out when he was stuck in the mind realm.
Technically he could hear everything, it was just a matter on if it interested him long enough to hold his attention.
Spoiler alert: it usually didn’t.

L E G A C Y also known as: Addison Starling
Addison gave a small, rather casual shrug. ”Depends on the dance,” She explained, eyes watching him closely. It was true, Addison was quite the master at ballet and ballroom dancing, however beyond that...well beyond that her dancing skills left plenty of room to be desired and she wouldn’t lie, it had stung when Nyx warned her before that she was just really, really bad at breakdancing.
Maybe if she found some free time, she could learn. That way she could surprise Nyx and everyone else the next time breakdancing came up and wow them all with her surprisingly awesome moves.
But that would have to wait for later, right now she had a robbery to focus on.
”I don’t know Roller, maybe next time you wanna get my attention you can just call, I have a number, you know,” She told him and let out a faint laugh at the idea. She could just imaging sitting around, talking to the others over some hot cocoa and getting a call or a text from Roller of all people.
It was a pretty amusing thought, if she said so herself.
Eyes still locked on Roller, Legacy silently cursed when he picked his next song.
She had totally been planning on using Eye of the Tiger next.
Oh well, looks like she’d just have to change her tactics a little.
Switching the song to “The Final Countdown” by Europe, Legacy immediately jumped into action the same time Roller did, racing towards the money at an incredibly quick pace, ducking down just in time to barrel over on top of it and grab the bag of money in her hands, rolling out of the way and getting back up onto her feet with little to no difficulty.
She might not have been putting a whole lot of thought and effort into this before, but she did have a job to do and as much as she liked her conversations with Roller, she did have a meeting to get to that she was currently missing.
Holding the money up, Legacy looked over to the winged man. ”Sorry Roller, but I really don’t have time to play around today,” she apologized and placed the bag of money next to her, shooting a type of bubble like substance at it to trap it in its spot and prevent it from being taken again.
Putting her focus back on Roller, Legacy shifted into a defensive position and kept her gaze level with him. ”If you don’t cause any trouble, I’ll give you a five second head start to get away, if not, I’m not gonna be so generous,” she told him, eyes watching him carefully as she waited for him to make the next move.
Part of her hoped he’d take her up on the first offer and make a break for it. Both because she didn’t want to have to hand him over to the police and also because she was really late for that meeting and she had a feeling if she was any later, she’d miss out on whatever it was this meeting was for in the first place.

Kitaki Akemi | Thunderstorm "lightning makes no sound until it strikes," - martin luther king jr. Well, Akemi should have figured that line of conversation would end up with either Teylie or Juniper chosen. Only figures that Hailey went for the dangerous one over the the healer. But Akemi wasn't too caught up over that little factor. Cause, now he was going to be able to nab the person who could heal any of the injuries inflicted by anyone on Hailey's team. At the moment it might just save them from burns and broken bones, but who knew what else Hailey would be able to snag before he did. But now they could avoid both and score! Akemi was absolutely going to laugh if this turned out to be unstoppable force versus immovable object. Really, how else could you explain what was currently looking to be offensive versus defensive. People that could do damage versus people that could avoid damage. It was perfect. Adjusting to Peril's new position on his back, Akemi nodded and agreed with a laugh, "That's just what I was thinking, Peril." The purple being said exactly what Akemi was thinking, if in a single sentence rather than what felt like small paragraphs worth. Following through with the thought, Akemi waved his hand towards Teylie to come on over. She caught on to his thought before he actually had to claim it aloud. "You leave me no choice, Hailey, so Teylie's indeed with us now!" Of course, it was looking as though this was somehow planned. Take certain people that Akemi would have no choice but to take another in return, in retaliation. Oh well. Ah, then Peril asked a good question for someone who wasn't really there for the ever so brief explanation from Libelle on what they were doing. So he'd figured he could sum it up easy enough instead, "We get a flag, put it somewhere on our side of the field, game starts, we try to get the other side's flag. Don't get tagged on the other team's side or you go to jail, only way to get out is by being tagged by your team. It's fun!"

Mickey M. | Roller "science never solves a problem without creating ten more" - george bernard shaw At some other point in time, you betcha that Roller was going to be asking Legacy what kinds of dances she could do. He was a curious being after all. It'd be fun to know what he had to keep up with or already knew. Which, admittedly, there wasn't much on the latter he knew. He didn't know casual, normal dances that had actual dance moves with them. He was just a go with the flow kind of person. He didn't have the money to do dance lessons. Honestly, probably not the thing to be focusing on in a fight now, huh. Oh! Oh but now, now he had to also put down a reminder on getting her number for fun contact reasons. ... Frick. That required a phone. That could be a problem solved later then. Instead, Roller was left with Legacy's next song choice and- damn, she picked a good one. He didn't want that to distract him but there was hardly any time before Legacy had already started moving and- no no no n o no no no no no! It was in no way a perfect landing, but swerving to the side was far better than risking a worse landing straight on, closer to Legacy. Screw him if happened to let out a swear in response to the bad situation. He adjusted himself after landing, moving into a crouched position and glaring at Legacy as she spoke. Carefully, he stood up a little straighter and gave Legacy an attempt at a goofy grin. He tilted his head a little, responding, "Nah, I get it Legacy. You have busy hero things to do and this is just a little disturbance. I get it." He carefully adjusted himself, shuffling his wings a little as he prepared. He continued carefully, "Will say, good finishing song though. Timing is impeccable, cause I might just have to agree with you. It's about time I got going too."And Roller promptly shoved as much force as he could in order to create a proper wind-like force in the room with his wings and with as much effort as he could put into a fast getaway (it wasn't as much as he had hoped, but using his wings for a powerful start had some drawbacks). And as much as he wanted to stay for a moment longer to actually get that number out of her, he figured it was better spent actually escaping. At least that way he could follow through with a couple other heists he had planned through the week. And he might be able to snatch himself a phone. (control for landing : d20+3 = 12 strength for flapping wings : d20+2 = 19 speed for leaving : d20+4 = 13)

L E G A C Y also known as: Addison Starling
Addison watched as Roller flew away, making no attempt to go get him. Instead she let out a rather forlorn sigh, giving her head a quick shake. ”There he goes, the one that got away,” she commented wistfully.
She stayed where she was for a minute longer, head pointed upwards from where Roller had left.
...
Well, at least he had liked the song, and hey, maybe he’d try to rob another bank later this week and they could chat for a little longer then, when Addison didn’t have a meeting she was incredibly late for, hanging over her head.
Dusting off her hands, Addison turned to the doors of the bank and dramatically thrust them open. ”It’s okay everyone, Roller is gone and the money is safe!” She declared as she walked out, immediately being bet without the flash of cameras and various civilians cheering for her.
The police captain though...he seemed less impressed.
”Roller escaped again? How hard is it to catch him?” He asked, folding his arms as he glared at her.
Honestly though, it was a little hard to take him seriously when his face was like, 90% bushy mustache.
It was like having a conversation with a talking, sentient mustache.
Which actually happened to her once on a mission, man, Mustache-Man was crazy, shame how he died though. Who knew his own mustache would be his downfall?
Anyways.
”Not my fault that the dude has roller skates and wings, makes him real slippery, like jelly,” she explained with a causal shrug as if that sufficed for an answer. ”Besides, if the banks around here had better security, maybe I wouldn’t need to bust my bolts to stop him all the time, or y’know, maybe if you actually did your job for once, I mean come on man, it’s Roller, he’s about as intimidating as a scentless flower,” she told him, sending the police captain a pointed look.
That did seem to shut him up for once.
Addison nodded in approval.
Yeah that’s what she thought, buster.
Turning her attention to the bank owner, she pulled out a card and handed it to him. ”Seriously though, your security kinda sucks, I’d suggest contacting Starlight Security, tell them you’re a friend of Legacy and they’ll hook you up with some real good stufff, okay?” She asked, giving the man the card before she turned her attention back to the crowds of people, basking in the cheers of her name.
”Thank you, thank you, I’d love to stay and do autographs, but actually, I gotta go,” She explained and shot her “wings” back out, saluting to the crowds of people as she shot into the air.
”I love you, Legacy!” Came a voice from someone in the crowd and Addison sent finger guns down in the general direction of the voice.
”I love you too, random citizen!”
Then just like that, she took off into the air, heading back towards the manor.
By now she was really late.

Hailey Penn also known as: Pixie
Hmm, maybe she should’ve grabbed Teylie, actually, it would’ve been a good idea to have the healer on your team. But then again...she had the woman with bone crushing abilities and that seemed like a really handy person to have on your team.
Which, that meant it was now her turn to pick again.
Letting out a rather thoughtful hum, Hailey looked around at the others surrounding the table, trying to pick one a good option for this.
Margot with be nice, and who knew, maybe she could use some of those demigod powers to really help them win.
Jex was an obvious choice since that camera he had could definitely come in handy for this.
Ivory could turn into a literal monster and they was always a plus....and then both teams would have some sort of weird monster thing since Peril was pretty much some weird demon monster thing.
Oh but then there was also Nimul....
Though, she could maybe be nice and let Akemi have Nimul, Peril really seemed to like the alien and well, they had been through a lot recently, if anything, Hailey could give the opposing team a chance at Nimul before putting her on her team as well.
That settled it then. ”Alright Ivory, get over here, I’m picking you for my team,” she said, gesturing for the werelynx to come over.
Just then, the door to the meeting room opened and in came a rather frazzled looking Addison.
Her hair was a mess and she looked as if she was fresh out of the suit.
Smiling sheepishly at the rest of them, Addison waved a little. ”Hey guys, hope I didn’t miss much,” she said and moved to sit down, pausing as Hubert came over with a blue mug full of hot chocolate.
”Here you are, Ms Starling,” he told her and Addison grinned as she took the mug from him.
”Thanks Huey, I definitely needed this,” she said and gave the butler a pat on his shoulder before he walked away again, clearly content to leave them all to do their hero stuff.
Which right now was just a glorified game of capture the flag in the making.
Edmund sent Addison a stern look. ”Where were you? You’re late,” He told her and Addison shrugged, plopping down in her chair and kicking her feet up on the table.
”Look, I’m sorry, but Roller was robbing a bank, I was doing my hero duty and stopped him, it took a little longer than expected,” she explained before taking a sip of her drink.
At that, a low, impish cackle erupted from Peril as he put his hands on Akemi’s head and leaned forward, grinning over at Addison with that kind of expression that Hailey was well accustomed with by now.
That right there was the face of someone that was about to get slapped.
”Is hero duty now code for something else?” He asked, wiggling his eyebrows at her. ”Did you finally give him your number? Did you roll off together listening to some sort of cheesy 80s song? Did you-“ As he continued, Addison stood back up, angrily putting her hands on the table.
”Shut it, Peril, Roller is like, my nemesis, I stop him and we have music battles-“
”Nemeses...with benefits,” Peril teased, the impish smirk never leaving his face as he looked over at Addison.
Addison flared at him. ”Why you little ba-“
That’s when Edmund stepped in, sending both of them a look. ”This is exactly why we need to work on our team building, infighting will not be tolerated,” he told them, looking from Addison to Peril to make sure they were listening before he put his focus on Addison.
”Did you catch him this time?” He asked in a much calmer voice.
Addison looked away, clearly trying to hide her shame as she sunk into her seat and took a long gulp of her hot chocolate. ”...No,” She squeaked out so quietly that Hailey almost didn’t hear.
Peril let out another bout of laughter.
”Addie and Roller, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-“ Addison shot him another glare.
”Peril, I swear I will chop off your head to shut you up-“
Peril let his long, lizard like tongue slither out at her. ”Good, do it, I’ve had my head chopped off before, it’s nothing new,” he said and flashed her a toothy grin. ”Doesn’t stop the talking though~”
Addison let out another annoyed grumble and Edmund quickly cleared his throat, sending the two of them another stern look. ”Akemi, I believe it’s your turn to pick,” he said in a clear attempt to change the subject.
Addison raised her brow curiously and Hailey nodded towards her. ”We’re playing capture the flag,” she explained and Addison nodded in understanding, slouching back down in her chair to drink her hot chocolate, occasionally sending Peril a dirty look, which he would return with an all top smug smirk.
This was going to be an eventful game.

aka ;; the Bone Folder
Juniper couldn't help but raise her eyebrow at Peril's nickname. Boney, was for sure a first- even her niece would have questioned it. Maybe I will break every one of your bones demon, she thought to herself, then we'd at least have something in common.
Oh how she longed to put Peril in his place- or any of her teammates for that matter. She had so much material that she just couldn't use. Your fault, she reminded herself. But it really wasn't. She had simply opted to not tell the rest of the Knight Watch her terribly tragic origin story- and a tale as depressing as that couldn't be brought up in conversation as a joke.
Sighing, she forced herself to focus on the conversation going on- as confusing as it was. As much as she wanted to joke about her past those memories weren't very pleasant, and the last thing she needed was to get in her own head before a game.
"Damn," she muttered under her breath, as Akemi quickly snatched up Teylie. To be honest, she hadn't expected him to put together that maybe having the healer and bone breaker on the same team would be bad. Oh well, she shook her head, trying to not take the whole elementary game thing so seriously. I'll just have to target healer-lady first. If she could injure the healer- then hopefully Teylie would be more preoccupied with her own wounds than her teammates.
However, her faith in her own team shook a little when the fairy girl- Hannah, or something like that chose Ivory next. Leave it to the magical girl to choose the furry, she thought with a sigh. She was about to share her great joke aloud when Addison walked in.
She looked like a mess- which Juniper figured wasn't out of the ordinary for her, but she tried to pay attention to how the rest of the team reacted. Living out of the Knight Hall had its benefits- but Juniper always seemed to miss out on the drama. She was never sure who she was supposed to be mad with, who she was supposed to pity- hell she probably wouldn't even know if she did something bad and hurt one of her teammates feelings.
Edmund seemed his normal rule-following boring self- which probably wasn't much to go off. Juniper thought their leader would be generally concerned even if a team member had just murdered someone. Okay, maybe that was taking it too far. But seriously- the guy was impossible to get a good read from.
Of course Peril made everything easier. There's something going on between Addison and a villain? she wonder, turning her head to the side to inspect the girl again. I honestly didn't peg her as the type. She looked around wanting to get details, but found her team utterly disappointing. There was buzzkill Libelle, 'princess' H-, what was her name again? And then social pariah Ivory. Not the most fun bunch.
So instead she was stuck, sitting in the corner, trying to catch Peril's eye so he could drop more information that she could puzzle piece together into a narrative. What a joy it was to be a hero.

Ivory Lince local furry
Honestly this wasn’t ideal for Ivory. She knew how dumb it was for her to complain about group activities and get all on edge about them considering she had chosen to stay on The Knight Watch - though, it had been a bit reluctantly. She knew it was important to come together as a team and bond and all of that jazz, but couldn’t this have happened at a better time for her? Granted, Ivory didn’t have a lot of “better times” but this was different. While, yes, she had a somewhat decent amount of control on her power and whatnot, it was starting to become a struggle again. It wasn’t like she was losing her control or anything like that, no, it was just that the control she had over her powers were greatly connected with her current state of mind, and for a while now her mind had...not been very peaceful. She had been on edge for a while, antsy more like it. Ivory hated being cooped up in the city for so long. It wasn’t where she belonged and she hated it. It was too crowded, too loud, too obnoxious. She knew there were outposts for the Knight Watch and some were further out from cities, but Ivory feared that if she did that she’d end up deciding to ditch the team and go back out there on her own. So she forced herself to stay in Chicago, and right now she honestly wasn’t sure if any of this was a good idea for her.
The part that they were allowed, and expected, to use their powers worried the werelynx the most. There wasn’t going to be any getting around shifting. If she didn’t she was basically useless to this whole capture the flag thing, but if she did she wasn’t confident in herself that she’d be able to control that feral, animalistic instinct she tapped into when she shifted. They had Teylie no matter what, but Ivory wasn’t sure just how well the healer could heal somebody who was getting mauled and eaten alive by a rampaging werelynx that was over seven feet tall.
While everything was being sorted out and teams were being chosen, Ivory kept her gaze down on the cup of hot chocolate that had been made for her. She enjoyed hot chocolate, a lot really, but at the same time it brought up a lot of things Ivory would rather keep out of her mind than let them in. Hot chocolate had always been one of those things her family would make back in the fall and winter and they’d huddle up and drink the warm beverage while just enjoying themselves and having a family moment. It had always been a lot of fun, and one of Ivory’s favorite things about the colder months, but now…well, that was all just some memory of the past, something she’d never get to do again all because of her. She had done more than just ruin everything she once had and regardless of how good Hubert’s hot chocolate was, Ivory couldn’t bring herself to drink it let alone enjoy it. No offense to Hubert, but she just didn’t think she deserved the kind of warm, joyful delight that came with hot chocolate.
The werelynx huffed. Now wasn’t the time to get all upset over hot chocolate. That was the dumbest thing to get all worked up about.
Though, fortunately, hearing her name being called out snapped her out of those thoughts.
Unfortunately it meant there was no way she could somehow get out of this team building activity.
With a hint of reluctance in her movements, Ivory got up and made her way over to the side of Hailey’s team. She gave the team leader and everybody else already there the briefest of nods before practically tuning everything else going on out. She wasn’t exactly in the mood to acknowledge Addison’s disheveled arrival, and she really wasn’t in the mood for the slight bickering that followed. So instead she gritted her teeth to try and stay calm, at least outwardly calm, and remained silent, hoping that all of this would get over quickly and she didn’t lose control over herself before this was over.

Kitaki Akemi | Thunderstorm "lightning makes no sound until it strikes," - martin luther king jr. Ivory. Akemi had to give it to Hailey, that was a nice choice. Akemi was trying to decide who would balance out their teams now since Akemi would like to say things were otherwise fairly even in terms of powers at the very least. There was an element-based power on each side so far (himself and Libelle), then the two fairy-related people (Hailey and Hector/Peril), the two that actually balanced each other out (Juniper and Teylie), so now Akemi just needed to figure out who could balance against a werelynx. However, it seemed he had some extra time to contemplate (whether or not he'd be using it wisely), seeing as the missing member of their team decided to appear. This extra time to contemplate was not going to be used in full because of the sheer hilarity given the way the conversation went. Oh, there was no way he wasn't going to laugh at that at all. That was hilarious and he'd was tempted to join in the 'making fun of Addison' train had he been more focused on doing so. Eh, anyhow. It was his turn to pick next. "Okay, next on my team is-"-- What's the sexiest thing in the world? Akemi would like to put his bets on the sheer power and confidence that came from cracking your fingers outwards as electricity raced across your fingertips. Like, honestly, Akemi was willing to fight for the title of best looking member of the Knight's Watch. Albeit, there was some hard competition on the team. Something about the fact that superpowers combined with people who exercised a bunch was surprisingly hot. Well. Actually, putting it that way, it was difficult to be surprised. It actually made way too much sense. Then again, Akemi was someone who found power to be attractive, so it could just be his bias speaking. But honestly, like? Look at Edmund. A true beauty among men and Akemi refused to hear otherwise. Sure, competition, but everyone on the team was even if Akemi wasn't willing to currently list out every attractive trait of everyone on the team at this moment. Because there was a lot. But, all in all, Akemi was still very self assured in his own beauty. However, none of this was conductive to what was going on. Well, Akemi running lightning across his fingers to his hands and up his arms was conductive (haha, literally conductive) to what was going on, but everything else wasn't. They were in the playing field now. Akemi was with his team, in which he so elegantly picked out. Himself, Peril, Teylie, Margot, Nyx, Addison, and Nimul. In which Akemi would just like to state his gratefulness that aliens from outer space had no concept of the human-added insult of being picked last. However, there were altogether up against Hailey's team: Libelle, Juniper, Ivory, Link, Edmund, Ebony, and of course, Hailey herself. In his opinion, it really wasn't a bad matchup. In terms of power, Akemi stood by his previous point and each team generally had someone that was similar or equalled out the power on the other side. However, call it overconfidence, but Akemi was confident that his team would be able to crush the others in actual battle with a good strategy. Therefore, they needed to get a good strategy. "Peril, you're on Ivory. Get in her way as much as possible and see if you can keep her attention on breaking your bones." Akemi didn't really envy giving the purple being that job, but the other option was Teylie and Akemi needed her as a more go-around sort of person. Although, "Teylie, I need you to keep half an eye on her as well. I need your other eye for looking for anyone on our team that's gone down."
He had confidence regarding the speed of his team and how that meant a decreased likelihood of getting hit. After all, Akemi was planning for a quick win. "Addison, I'm gonna put you on flag guard. As in the closest to the flag as the rules allow. It's hopefully going to be the least exciting job, if we actually keep people away, but if they get too close, stun them and get them to jail, huh? Speaking of jail, Nyx, mind helping out there? You can do the whole fun, sleeping thing on prisoners or anyone who tries to free any prisoners we get. Essentially, you two are on defense, if you don't mind. Keep people away using your dust and tech, please."
"Offense time- Margot and Nimul, you two are gonna be going for the flag. I'm putting faith in that speed you have Margot since you're the one who's probably gonna have to actually get the flag. Nimul's there to help you find it by doing her weird little ghost-like stuff, right Nimul?" The alien made her sound of acknowledgment with a fun little shimmer of her abilities. "Great. Nimul, in the case any of us somehow end up in their jail, you are free to sneak us out of there as well."Really though, Akemi was hoping no one would end up in jail. Unfortunately, Akemi was pretty sure the only people without that option would be Addison and Nyx, who would hopefully stay on the safe side of things. But the rest were more likely to get caught depending on how careful they were. He was hoping Nimul would recognize when it was worth getting people out of jail though and not risking Margot. If Nimul could actually hold things when she was intangible, Akemi would have likely left it to her, but that unfortunately didn't work. He'd do it himself if his speed didn't have the unfortunate side effect of being bright too. So, he was putting bets on Margot being able to do it for the team. "Meanwhile, I'm playing towards the division line as a back and forth to keep the other side out with as much thunder and lightning as possible. I'm gonna be a big large distraction here and there too and make attempts to go in for the flag with as little commitment as possible to them."
"So, any questions, comments, complaints, team?"

Nyx Sanford also known as: Sandstorm
To be frank, Nyx loved this sort of stuff. Sure some might consider it a little childish but she rather enjoyed playing games with the team, Edmund claimed it was good team bonding, but Nyx sort of just thought it was fun. The team probably needed something more traumatic to qualify as bonding, something that got them all talking about their emotions and coming to a better understanding of each other.
That didn’t usually happen with capture the flag unless something went horribly, horribly wrong.
Nodding along as Akemi went over their plan, Nyx looked over as Peril let out a laugh, grabbing his feet and rolling back and forth.
”Ohohho, Akemi, you get me, I hope the werelynx eats me,” he commented with a toothy grin as he looked around at his teammates.
Nyx responded but offering him a small smile of her own.
Personally, she preferred Hector a little bit to Peril. Peril was...well he was Peril and there was just something a little unsettling about him that Hector didn’t have, even if Hector was a lot more cold and aloof than Peril was, at least he didn’t seem as unhinged as Peril was.
Still, at least he seemed excited.
”Have you ever been eaten before?” Nyx asked before she could stop herself.
Peril beamed are the question and turned his head to look at her. ”No, but it’s on my bucket list, what do you think would happen if I was all gobbled up? Would I have to be crapped out and crawl out of the feces like some sort of slimy, gross looking alien baby? Or would I become poisonous to whoever ate me and they’d have to throw me back up in all these little chunks of Peril? I wonder how long it would take me to reconstruct myself after that...” Peril mused and Nyx cringed a little.
Yep, she shouldn’t have asked.
”Right...” Nyx responded, figuring it would be rude to just ignore him, however she was quick to put her focus back on Akemi after that.
Guarding the prisoners.
Nyx could do that, she would rather stay on the defensive than offensive anyways. Nyx enjoyed these team bonding games, she really did, however her powers were sort of useless as an offense, she was better suited to offer support and help out from the defensive, she knew her strengths and those strengths did not include going toe to toe with the opposing team.
”Right, I can do that, no one will free any of their prisoners here,” she declared proudly, offering Akemi a wide smile, puffing her chest out proudly. She could do this easily. Plus putting them to sleep for a little bit was way less violent than the other options and Nyx didn’t actually want to hurt anyone on her team.
Glancing over at Addison, Nyx watched as the other girl adjusted her helmet, muttering something about having “just gotten out of it” and it being “all gross and sweaty” from the fight.
However when given her orders, she nodded in response. ”Right, yeah, that works for me, I’m all sore from my run in with Roller earlier, boring sounds good,” she agreed absentmindedly, shooting Peril a warning look as he rolled over to her, a sly smile resting on his face as if he was about to start teasing her again.
”Hehehhe-I’m sure you’re very sore-“ before he could continue, Addison shot a warning blast from her armor right by his foot, causing him to scramble back a little bit and poke at the burnt bit of grass with wide eyes. ”Well that was rude, if you were going to shoot me, you should’ve gone for my face.”
Addison raised her brow. ”Don’t tempt me,” she warned him and stretched out her arm as she got adjusted to her armor. ”Anyways, I’m ready whenever everyone else is.”
Right, the game should be starting soon, Nyx should probably prepare herself too.

P I X I E also known as: Hailey Penn
Alright, Hailey was ready for this. She almost never got to lead...well technically during her trip to the fairy realm, she had ended up leading a fairy rebellion against Fachtna but that was different, that wasn’t some team bonding exercise with other super powered individuals and that was way more stressful than this was.
This was all just for fun.
So honestly? Yeah, Hailey was excited.
”Alright, listen up everyone, here’s the plan!” Hailey barked out sharply, pacing back and forth in front of her teammates. ”Edmund and Juniper, you guys are the defense, your job is to stay on our side of the grounds and protect the flag, don’t hold back against anyone that tries to take it or free any of their teammates that we’re undoubtedly going to capture,” she started confidently. It was nothing personal or anything like that, but Hailey’s team was by far the powerhouse team against Akemi, he’d have to figure out some sort of cool trickery to get past them all and she just sort of thought that was a bit unlikely.
”Libelle and Ebony, you guys are the offense, you’re going to charge into their territory and try to distract them, act like you’re going after the flag, that’s not what you’ll be doing but I want you guys to make it so all their attention is focused on you, okay?” Hailey continued, looking over towards Libelle and Ebony.
Ebony nodded a little, though she didn’t say anything, this wasn’t super unusual for her though, Hailey had found that Ebony wasn’t much of a conversationalist even at the best of times.
”Ivory, I’m putting you on Peril duty, I don’t know what his plan is but he’s chaotic and unpredictable, so keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn’t mess anything up,” Hailey continued, looking over towards Ivory to make sure she got the point.
Peril was as unpredictable as he was odd, whether or not Akemi planned on using that or trying to find some sort of distraction for Peril during this game was a mystery, but either way, Hailey would prefer it if someone was making sure Peril didn’t go and mess everything up and Ivory seemed like someone that could keep up with him.
”Everyone else, cause as much chaos as you possibly can, let’s try to keep everyone else on their toes, okay?” Hailey asked and looked over the remaining members of her team. It seemed like a good set up to her and hopefully it would be one that had them coming out on top. ”Any questions?” She asked.
Edmund raised his hand.
Rather polite of him, if Hailey said so herself.
”So basically you want Juniper and I to stay here and to capture as many of the other team as possible, right? While protecting the flag of course,” he asked, writing down notes in a small notebook he had brought with him, his sword hovering beside him as if reading the notes right along with him.
Hailey nodded in response. ”Yeah, pretty much, I figure you and Juniper would be better used to defend everything here, so go ahead and break bones, knock people over, capture them, I don’t really care, we’ve got a healer in The Knight Watch, I feel like we’ll be fine to do whatever,” she explained and Edmund and Excalibur nodded in unison - if it was possible for a sword to nod anyways, though it certainly did look like that’s what it did - as Edmund hurriedly wrote that down.
”Anymore questions? No? Good,” Hailey commented and glanced over towards Link, gesturing for him to come over. ”Link, come here, I have a special task for you,” she told him, taking a couple steps away from the rest of the team as she waited for Link to follow her over.
Once she was sure they probably wouldn’t be overheard, Hailey glanced around quickly before looking back to Link. ”Alright, you and I are going to go after the flag, hopefully everyone should be distracted by Libelle and Ebony that we’ll be able to grab it without too much trouble, but if that doesn’t work, I’m going to distract them even more so you can sneak by and grab the flag,” Hailey explained, folding her arms. ”Makes sense?” She asked, brow raised.
It was no secret that in a game like this, Link was sort of useless, power wise, however Hailey was hoping to use that to their advantage.
If all went well, no one would stop to wonder where Link was, so while the powerhouses were distracting everyone else, he could sneak past and grab the flag.
It was a classic underdog move, but Hailey honestly believed it could work.

Also known as: Hyperlink
Link had listened carefully to the instructions Hailey was giving the group. It seemed like a pretty good plan.
It was undoubtedly true, even with Link on the team (who in this kind of scenario had none of his abilities available to him) that Hailey’s team had a lot of powerhouses. Of course, Akemi’s team did too, but as Link saw it the advantage was with Hailey’s team.
He noticed that his name didn’t come up in the instructions Hailey gave, which didn’t surprise him too much. When the team did activities like this, if Link couldn’t use his powers he tended to just freestyle it. Do whatever he felt he’d be most useful doing. Most of the time that worked out for him fairly well.
But then Hailey took him aside, saying she had a special task for him. A special task? Intriguing, but also a little worrying because Link wouldn’t even trust himself with a special task.
He listened with interest and a little surprise to Hailey’s plan. He could see where her plan was going. If it came down to it, Link was an underdog. The other team wouldn’t be paying too much attention to him. Hailey was smart to exploit that.
The others not even noticing him was kind of a weird flex, but Link wasn’t afraid to exploit it.
At her question, Link nodded, folding his own arms.
“That’s a smart plan. I can do that,” he nodded “we’re on xgames mode now.”
With that, though, Link was ready to go. This was something he could do. All he had to do was not get captured and be around for when Hailey needed him. Preferably without drawing the other team’s attention to him at any point. And definitely not ending up toe-to-toe with any of the other team, because he knew for a fact that he would lose. All of this was easier said than done, but Link had done harder things before.
Well, harder things that were in no way related to this scenario, but still.

MARGOT DAVENPORT
Also known as Oracle Margot had been chosen by Akemi for his team, and was pleased to see that the teams seemed fairly evenly matched overall. With a good strategy, this should be a piece of cake.
She’d prepared for this activity in what ways she could. She’d tied her hair back out of her face, as she always did when she anticipated this kind of physical activity, and she’d removed all of her jewellery apart from the ring her father had given her. The one that she could never take off.
She listened to Akemi’s instructions to the team, idly running her finger over the word ‘Πῡθίᾱ’ engraved on the ring. The first time she’d been in a fight situation she’d been worried that the ring would fall off, but it never did so, and it didn’t get in the way too much either. She barely noticed it was there more of the time.
“I got this.” Margot nodded confidently with Nimul’s help, of course.”
Margot might be a little arrogant, and she overestimated her abilities a lot, but even she knew Nimul would be helpful in this situation. She overestimated the powers she already had, she didn’t convince herself she had ones she didn’t.
Her role of taking the flag was ideal, really. Margot enjoyed taking risk. Being careful was not really her thing, though, and she knew that she ran the risk of getting caught. Still, she couldn’t think of a better use of her powers at this point. She couldn’t precognition her way to winning the game, after all.
The demigod listened to the team’s exchanges with amusement; she enjoyed their antics. She especially found it funny when Peril made a joke about Addison and Roller, only for Addison to shoot a warning blast at him.
”The lady doth protest too much, methinks.” Margot smirked
When Addison said she was ready, however, Margot nodded in agreement.
”I’m ready too. This ought to be fun.”
This kind of competition was where Margot thrived, and so she was understandably excited to start the game. It was a fun chance to train without any real risk. Sure, she could get hurt, but they had a healer in the Knight Watch so really there wasn’t any danger.

Ivory Lince local furry
Great. Peril.
It made sense that she’d be assigned Peril duty, but she didn’t have to like it. Didn’t have to like it at all.
Not that she’d like being put on any kind of duty, but still. Of course it was put the monster together with the monster. How predictable was that?
Ivory let out a slow sigh. She was only going along with it to get this all over with. If she did this then perhaps this whole dumb game would be over with sooner rather than later. Then she could go on about her own business with the rest of the day. Maybe if this all finished up soon then she could find a way to get out of the city. Maybe she could even speak with Edmund or something, ask him if there was any way she could perhaps be transferred to another Knight Watch base, one that was away from a city. One that was out in the wilderness, one that would make her feel more at home.
The werelynx drew in a deep breath and then nodded. Even if she didn’t want to do this she had to just to get it over with. It was too late to back out of this whole team building activity now, not like she really had a choice in the first place.
With the plan given and her part known, she readied herself for what was to come. She hoped beyond anything that she could get through this without giving in to the deadly instinct that was bubbling right underneath her skin and had been for weeks. She hoped she could control herself while she was shifted for the game, if not...well, if not it wouldn’t end well at all. Ivory knew all too well what happened when she was unhinged and had no control over herself. It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t pretty at all. Even now all the memories of the gore and carnage she had caused stuck in her mind. The taste of blood even lingered on her tongue, the feeling of torn flesh stuck in her teeth still a vivid memory.
Ivory shook her head to get rid of those thoughts before they started to swarm. Letting those thoughts get to her would surely make it impossible for her to stay under control, and the last thing she needed right now was to lose it during a training session. If she couldn’t hang on to herself during a training missing there was no way she’d be able to control herself during a real battle. Though maybe since she was up against Peril and something did happen it wouldn’t be the worst. Peril was basically indestructible so even if she did go completely feral on him it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but still, she’d rather be able to keep control over herself than not. It wouldn’t look good on her to go feral, but she supposed there would be worst case scenarios than losing it on Peril of all people.

Kitaki Akemi | Thunderstorm "lightning makes no sound until it strikes," - martin luther king jr. At Peril's laugh, Akemi gave the impish creature two finger guns with a grin. Though Akemi would have a slightly larger preference for the idea that Peril would not be eaten until closer to the end of the game (a hopefully short game with a win for his team), he wasn't going to ruin Peril's good mood. What could he say? He enjoyed the chaos and unpredictability. But hoo boy, Akemi was not nearly as prepared to listen to Peril's predictions on all the ways he'd come back to life. Though, Akemi wasn't sure if it counted as coming back to life when he never technically died in the first place.Ah, nope, definitely looked like he'd have to voice his preference. "If it wouldn't be hard, Peril, mind waiting towards the end to be eaten? I'd hate to lose you for most of the fight if you're busy being digested or reconstructing for most of it." It sounded gross to say. It was probably gross to experience. Akemi was just glad he didn't need to deal with that.Upon Nyx's declaration, he gave a little salute to her in return. When they get some prisoners in, it would extremely nice to just... consistently decrease the other's team by having them all asleep in jail. Akemi would laugh.Though, it was questionable on what he would laugh more over. The other team theoretically losing because they were all asleep in the jail or what Akemi was hoping would continue to be a consistent joke for the next while regarding Addison and a certain villain.Given that he was actively laughing over the Addison situation, he figured that one probably one. He attempted to put a not very enthusiastic hand up to stop Addison from almost hitting Peril, with a "Hey, hey, don't hit teammates, wait till after we win this please-" interrupted by laughter every other word or so.As Margot added her part to the conversation, Akemi felt the need to vocally agree this time, "Oh yeah, too much protesting."Akemi watched, still giggling over the situation, as Nimul moved towards her friend and attempted a reassuring pat on the shoulder with her paw-hand thing before saying, "It's okay, Addi, I won't judge you and your affair with Roller!" Akemi's laughter went full force as he doubled over now since Akemi was certain that Nimul was being very genuine in her statement. It was hysterical but Akemi figured he did need to stop laughing at least somewhat before the game started. With remnant of laughter still, he offered his hand towards the middle of the group with a funky, little smirk of a grin, "Thunderbolts and Lightning on three?"

Libelle Blaise Ledoux | Blazing Star "i am not afraid... i was born to do this," - joan of arc Offense. Libelle was more than fine with that. She was used to offensive position, and while it wasn't impossible to use fire as defense, it often made a far more interesting offense in the long run. Plus, Libelle is pretty certain she could draw attention. Libelle wouldn't say she had anywhere near the natural charisma she knew others had, but the firepower certainly drew eyes. She in took a breath and just let the heat sear through her for a moment in preparation for when the 10 minutes were up. She found it never hurt to have time to prepare her body for the surge of heat, whether or not it hurt in doing so. Plus, better to warm up now than on the field, where she would need full force rather than sparks and embers. Libelle glanced at Ebony, her semi-partner in defense. Honestly, Libelle had a feeling it was going to be less of teamup and more of 'I'll stay out of your way while you stay out of mine.' It was nothing against the necromancer. Just happened that the dice fell in different directions when it came to their two powers. After all, unless Ebony was able to scrounge up some dead bodies around here and was willing to let Libelle set them on fire... Her eyes flickered back to Ebony, slightly more squinted this time. Approaching Ebony as Hailey made a move to talk to Link, Libelle was figuring it didn't hurt to check to at least make sure, "Any chance you'll be able to raise the living dead around here?"

Addison Starling [Legacy] commander of the knight watch
Between Peril’s brutal - and totally unfair and unreasonable - teasing and the fact that almost everyone else on her side of the game had decided to join in, Addison was beginning to regret telling them why she was late. She should’ve just said she had to stop an asteroid from destroying the earth or something, they would’ve believed that without any further questioning.
She was using that next time.
Shaking her head a little, Addison raised her brow. ”I can’t believe I pay for you all to live here,” she commented jokingly. Honestly she was fine paying with everything, she had the money to spare and she was pretty sure that everyone else was broke or something like that. They needed her money, they were basically a bunch of freeloaders that did superhero stuff on the side.
Especially since, last she checked, superhero-ing was not a paid job. They did this out of the kindness of their hearts and for the fanfiction that was being written about them.
...Though Addison wasn’t sure how many of her fellow knights actually knew about the massive amount of fanfiction they had, or if they did know about it, she doubted they’d all read it like she had.
Anyways.
Moving over to where Akemi was, she glanced over at his hand. ”You want us to do that whole sports thing where we put our hands in and cheer?” Seemed a little juvenile, but then again, they were playing capture the flag in her backyard after drinking hot cocoa so it was a little late to play the juvenile card.
Shrugging, Addison placed her hand over his, watching as Nyx and Peril joined them as well.
Nyx beamed at them. ”If we win, I vote we all go out and get ice cream, I bet Edmund would be willing to bring everyone to get ice cream, even if we lose, either way, I just want ice cream,” she said, looking them over.
Hot cocoa and ice cream in one day? It was a good thing they were superheroes and were required to stay in shape, otherwise all these treats would go right to their hips.
Addison cast a quick glance down at her hips, just to check.
Peril made a face. ”If you guys go get ice cream afterwards, I’ll have to let Hector back out and he did not work for the ice cream, he isn’t willing to get devoured or have every bone in his body snapped in half for the win, if we all get ice cream after this, I want to go instead,” he argued with a quick nod of his head.
Addison glanced over at him. Now, in the past, though Peril had enjoyed being out and about with everyone else, he had certainly gotten a lot more stubborn and vocal about it ever since coming back from that whole fairy realm trip.
He was different since then too. Addison would love to know why, but questioning his behavior could come later.
”We can talk to Edmund and Libelle about it after the game,” Addison told him and turned her attention back to Akemi. ”On three?” She asked, nodding her head slightly down towards their hands.

Ebony Cadell [Spook] member of the knight watch
Okay Ebony, you could do this. It was all just part of the team exercise, nothing too extreme. All you had to do was stay on the defense, plus you were on the same team as Edmund, that would have to help. Besides, they were all your teammates. You’ve known them for a long time now, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t trust them.
Despite her internal reassurance, Ebony would still rather sit out this game completely than have to play.
Though that didn’t seem like it was an option.
Jumping a little in surprise when Libelle spoke up, Ebony blinked owlishly at her as the other woman talked.
Right...she wanted Ebony to what? Raise the dead.
Ebony didn’t answer her right away, instead she knelt down and placed a cold hand against the ground, closing her eyes as she inhaled and let her soul reach out to any of the dead around these areas.
It was only thanks to Hailey and Edmund that she didn’t have to be constantly plagued with the dead while at the mansion. Together they had done some sort of...magic thing that Ebony didn’t fully understand, but she knew the gist of it; no unwanted spirits or otherwise deceased beings could enter the mansion or its property.
Technically, if Ebony wanted, she could probably invite some undead here for the game...except she didn’t want to do that. As far as zombies went though...as far as she knew, the only dead bodies lying around here were of small animals and bugs. It would take far too long for human zombies to come to her aid.
Sighing, Ebony exhaled was stood back up, turning her darkened gaze to Libelle. ”Not unless you want an army of undead squirrels,” she told her simply, looking away from her again.
Honestly, Ebony’s powers weren’t super helpful in a situation like this. Rubbing at her arm, Ebony fidgeted slightly. ”...I could make some bone golems, or...or lower the temperature though, would that help?” She asked, casting a small glance back towards Libelle.
The Knight Hall was her sanctuary, the one place she didn’t have to worry about ghosts or demons or anything of the kind and she wasn’t overly keen on ruining that and allowing those kind of hellish creature inside.
However, she was quite certain there were enough decaying dead animals underneath the ground that she could create some little golems with their bones or perhaps even have a squirrel zombie army, or something like that.
Though she doubted that was what Libelle was looking for.
Squirrels weren’t all that scary. They were more cute and cuddly than actually intimidating, and Ebony had never met a threatening squirrel; dead or alive.
”...Sorry, I’m not...I don’t have...I can’t help much,” Ebony apologized as she shifted slightly in her spot, eyes training down to the ground instead of meeting Libelle’s gaze.
She really was the worst person to play a game with, wasn’t she?

Hailey Penn [Pixie] member of the knight watch
Honestly it was probably such a bad idea to put Hailey in charge of a team. She got competitive, and not just “I want to win” competitive, but the kind of competitive that got you kicked out of monopoly and we’re forever banned from touching the game again kind of competitive.
But here she was and she was determined to win. Akemi had an alright team and all - even if he got stuck with Peril - but Hailey could say with confidence that her team was made out of the powerhouses...well, except for Link.
But in this case, Hailey was fully prepared to use his lack of actual abilities to her advantage. Link was your average Jo kind of guy. Smart and dorky enough that he was fun to be around, but when compared to people that could raise the dead or turn into a werelynx or snap bones with ease or anything like that, he was a little...well he was a bit of a weak link, hahah; but that didn’t mean he couldn’t still be useful.
Hailey honestly believed her plan here could work. Especially since the rest of the knights probably expected her to do something like the “known” plan of her getting the flag. They’d expect that, but they wouldn’t expect her to throw Link of all people into the mix.
”Right, stick to the back for awhile so they don’t get too suspicious, wait until you think it’ll be a good time to go before heading to get the flag, we don’t want this to fall apart because we didn’t think,” she told him with a small, curt nod, offering him a quick pat on the shoulder before walking over to join the rest of her team.
”Alright, I hope you all are ready to win this thing, because I expect all of you to put in your all,” she told them ask turned to Edmund. ”So, how do we know when everyone’s ready to start? Do we tell each other, or...?” Hailey trailed off, figuring Edmund would fill in the blanks.
Edmund nodded and stood up, though he stayed in the group rather than join Hailey in the front. Hailey could respect that, he was clearly respecting her authority as team leader despite him actually leading the entire Knight Watch. ”Actually, I gave both teams about ten minutes to discuss plans and strategies, once those ten minutes are up, Hubert will blow the starting whistle and the game will begin,” he explained and rolled up his sleeve to look at his watch.
Which, real quick, while they were on the subject, Hailey had to laugh a little about the fact that Edmund had a watch on. It was funny for two reasons.
One: they were the Knight Watch and he had a watch.
Two: get with the times, man, at this rate who didn’t have a phone to look at instead?
Okay anyways, back to the matter at hand.
Still looking down at his watch, Edmund continued. ”Which...I believe those ten minutes are just about up.” Just as he said that, a loud whistle echoed throughout the property.
Hailey looked up.
That must’ve been Hubert.
”Alright, let the game begin,” she said with a smirk.

MARGOT DAVENPORT
Also known as Oracle Was all of this a very stupid and childish use of the powers Margot had inherited from her father? Probably. Was Apollo probably facepalming at the waste that was Margot using her divine power for a game of Capture the Flag? Definitely.
Was that going to stop her? Hell no. All she cared about was winning.
And besides, if her father had wanted her to use her powers for something useful, maybe he should’ve given his daughter a vision rather than ghosting her for months.
At Addison’s comment about not believing she paid for them all to live here, Margot shrugged.
”Can’t go back now. We’re too powerful, you could never throw us out.”
She joined in on the whole sports thing, not that she didn’t think it was a little stupid. Still, she put her hand in the middle along with everyone else.
The ice-cream conversation also didn’t interest her. Winning was the most important thing right now. She was perfectly aware that none of this actually meant anything, but she still wanted to win. Competition was the thing Margot cared about the most. Catching bad guys came a close second.
On three, she lifted her hand with the rest of the group.
”Thunderbolts and Lightning!” she said, as Akemi had suggested when he started the thing.
It was at that point a loud whistle echoed through the property.
Time for the game to start.
Margot kept close to Nimul, whose help she was going to need to find this flag. Akemi was right, after all; she couldn’t do this on her own.
”Alright, Nimul,” she said as she scanned the area around them ”Where should I be looking for this flag?”
Her priorities right now were finding this flag and trying not to get captured. Technically, even if it went bad for her there were people on her team to help; Nimul, Teylie. But she really didn’t want to set the team back. This had to go perfectly, and she couldn’t waste time by getting put in jail.
As she spoke to Nimul, she worked on heading in the general direction of the other team’s territory. Nimul would be able to give more specific directions to the flag once they got there.
She wasn’t going at her full speed yet; she wanted to save that for when it really counted. A little enhanced speed would be more than useful provided that she didn’t tire herself out too early in the game.
This, though? This was perfect. Margot needed a distraction, anything at all. She’d been stressed for so long about what her recent lack of visions meant, it felt good to not think about that.
For now, she had to focus on finding the flag.

Also known as: Hyperlink
Link had no small amount of awareness about his powers. He could take a data form in the cyberspace, he could manipulate, access, download data, travel small differences through cables. But he knew that his powers weren’t that useful. They were too specific. Compared to the others, he couldn’t do that much.
He wasn’t born with amazing abilities, he was just a teenager who’d made a chip and implanted it into his neck. Just a normal guy, average. His parents had been geniuses, sure, but not heroes, not gods. Part of the reason he’d joined the Knight Watch in the first place was to protect him from the people who’d wanted the chip.
Maybe, he was shocked to realise, joining a superhero team largely for your own protection was not actually a good ide.
Sometimes he got jealous of the rest of the group, with their amazing abilities and fighting strength. It was hard for him not to feel like he didn’t make much difference from the sidelines.
Sure, being the Knight Watch’s computer guy was pretty amazing, but how useful was it really? How much did he actually do? It wasn’t exactly a glamorous superhero role, now was it?
But right now, Hailey was giving him an opportunity to be useful. She saw something she could use in him, and in the way people underestimated him. Link wasn’t afraid to exploit that.
“You got it,” he’d responded to the team leader with a smile.
He rejoined the group after that, listening to the exchanges between the team members. When Edmund revealed his watch, Link didn’t quite know what to think.
On the one hand? He appreciated the watch, it was old school, classy and had gravitas.
On the other hand? He was dying to make some cool tech with Addison to replace it.
But it was irrelevant, because shortly the whistle blew, echoing around them, and it was time for the game to begin.
Link tried to clear his mind, focus as he went through the instructions from Hailey. Stay close to the back of the group, bide his time, go for the flag when it felt right. He could do that.
He stayed at the back as he was told. He could edge his way closer to the front later, for now he was focusing on getting a good field of vision so he could spot the flag and any obstacles that might be between him and it.
He was also careful to keep Hailey in his vision; if Libelle and Ebony weren’t good enough distractions, he’d need her to create a distraction so he could grab the flag.
For now he had to lay low, try to avoid getting into any confrontation or - worse - be captured. He had to avoid making the other team suspicious or getting their attention in any way.
He had one job, and he simply could not afford to mess this up. Not after Hailey had given him such an important role.
This, he was realising, might turn out to be quite difficult.

Libelle Blaise Ledoux | Blazing Star "i am not afraid... i was born to do this," - joan of arc While an army of undead squirrels sounded appealing if they were going up against a villain who relied on undead nuts, Libelle had a feeling it wouldn't do much against their current opposition. Bone golems seemed somewhat appealing as well, simply to help the two girls properly attack but... the last option Ebony had offered up... Libelle tilted her head slightly in consideration. She recalled an incident years ago where her previous team had been up against a person who used temperature drops solely. It made life hell on 'Ria. She was rendered useless in the fight. But, when Libelle went and started to melt the ice formed from the fight, loads of steam came off. And if Ebony could make enough of a temperature drop, Libelle wondered if it was possible to create the same kind of steam from that. With a grin towards Ebony, Libelle responded, "No need to apologize. It might not be a typical go-to power with you, but I'm thinking we could for with a low temperature right off the bat, ay? Hopefully we can steam out this field in a combination of a lower temperature and my higher one?" It'd give Link some good running room and more of an area of field to hide in. Sure, it could backfire. But Libelle felt pretty confident that once she lit herself on fire and started charging in, they could draw some good enough attention to themselves. As Hailey called their attention to get ready to win, Libelle just waited for the countdown of time. It wasn't a long wait as Edmund confirmed the time was up and Hailey made the vote of confidence to begin the game.

Nimul | Spectre "too alien for earth, too human for outer space," - rune lazuli Nimul chirped her approval of the ice cream plan. If she had to guess, Akemi was down for the suggestion and would have agreed to keep Peril and leave Hector out of it had Addison not spoken up first. Nimul thought it would be rude to Hector, but Peril did have a point to Nimul. Hector was really just sitting back and letting Hector do all the work. Taking a glance at Teylie, the old young lady looked like she wanted to object about the idea of ice cream as a treat for all their work. Nimul didn't really understand why. Teylie had tried to explain at a different point in time to Nimul how too much sugar could be harmful and addictive to humans, but Nimul didn't really understand. Sugar just "tasted" bland to her whenever she had something. Issue came and gone and Nimul placed her little paw into the center being created at the moment, and, once the countdown had been finished, shouted alongside the others, "Thunderb-" "-olts and Li-" "-ghtning!"Just like that, the game seemed to be started. Nimul watched for a moment as Teylie moved towards Peril, likely to follow him to the Bone Folder. Akemi, meanwhile, seemed to have the idea that he'd start walking towards centerfield, though Nimul was fairly sure his eyes were close and he was muttering something. She sneezed as a crackle of lightning-based energy floated through the air and through her. Her focus switched to Margot as the demigod addressed her. Where would the flag be? She float-followed Margot, dimming down her form to a slightly more intangible, invisible aspect as she thought. "Nimul believes... Pixie is an intelligent person... but not that intelligent. She's going to be picking the flag spot. Blazing Star and White Knight are going to lead the choices to her.... Bone Folder and Spook are quiet people... Hyperlink doesn't feel... confident enough to make that choice.""People think furthest place possible is good place to put flag. Need to get to other side of field and go from there, Nimul believes." She ended her categorization with a quick nod in confirmation to herself.

P E R I L a weird demon-fairy thing
The game had started.
Peril let out an excited chortle and hopped around a little on all fours, looking up towards the others as his team dispersed to take on their own roles. Peril had a role this time too, he got to take on the lynx girl, that was something he was actually pretty excited for.
Other than for training and actually battles, Peril didn’t get to be out very often, especially since Hector still had the majority of the control, however ever since getting back from the fae realm, that had been slowly changing.
His trip to the fae realm had really opened his eyes to a lot of things, like for instance, he wasn’t one of a kind, there were other Perils out there, causing havoc - though of course they weren’t named Peril, that was just him - and it had been up to him, Hector, and Hailey to kill one of the original Perils.
Fachtna.
The original.
Meeting him, learning that he was there, even getting to know Risk, all of it had been eye opening to Peril, for both good and bad reasons.
It was over now though, he wouldn’t see Fachtna again and he wasn’t really sure what was in Risk’s future, however what he did know was that Peril himself had gone through a sort of transformation, he had realized who he was and changed for the better.
Of course none of that prevented him from wanting to get eaten up by Ivory during this game, or maybe have his bones snapped in have or maybe even get impaled, he hadn’t ever been impaled before.
Letting out another impish cackle, Peril took off in search of the lynx monster, paying little to no attention to his fellow teammates.
He was on a mission, he couldn’t get distracted.

Hailey Penn [Pixie] member of the knight watch
Hailey wanted to win, she had a pretty good team set up here and a solid plan to boot, so it seemed like her chances at winning were in her favor today, however that didn’t let her get cocky, she knew that for her team to win, Link would have to pull through with his part and while she trusted him, Hailey also couldn’t help but worry slightly that he wouldn’t be able to pull it off.
It was okay though, that’s why she was here, to help make sure he did.
Fluttering her wings, Hailey glanced over to Link and gave him a quick nod of acknowledgement, a silent way of letting him know that she was going to start distracting the others.
Once she was sure he got the point, she looked forward and shot out her hand, a spiraling pink portal shot out in front of her and she instantly flew inside, coming out on the other team’s side of the property. Okay focus, find the flag, everyone needs to think that you’re going for it right away, no hesitation.
Quickly, Hailey scanned over her surroundings, not yet able to see the flag. That was okay, she’s just have to keep looking.
So far, it didn’t seem like she had been spotted.
Taking that as a good sign, Hailey sped up her face, flying above the ground and leaving a trail of pink pixie dust behind her as she zipped throughout the property, eyes narrowed as she searched for the flag.
Where would Akemi want to hide it? Obviously not somewhere easy to find, but where?
Ideally, Hailey at least wanted to find the flag before she pretended to to after it, she needed to let Link know where the flag was and that wasn’t exactly something she could do when she, herself, didn’t know where it was either.
