Who do you think is/was the best leader?
I'm going to go with Leafstar.
She was the first (and only) leader after SkyClan got revived, her clan has been through HELL and back, and still, she's been able to hold everything together.
She's also not super bitter by all of this, yeah, she's snapped a few times at the other clans, but can you blame her?
She helped out ShadowClan when they needed it, and how do they repay her? By poisoning the fresh-kill pile.
Also, she's willing to compromise, like for instance, in Squirrelflight's Hope, and I think that's a fantastic quality for a leader to have.
Leafstar isn't perfect, no one is, but I do think she's a fantastic leader, and I rate her leadership qualities 10/10.

I'd say Leafstar is arguably one of, if not, the best. She lost so many close friends as well as her mate and daughters in Hawkwing's Journey and had to deal with all the antics and bs of the Clans in the latter half of AVOS, all while leading her Clan.
If not her, then Firestar is pretty darn close.

Leafstar has been through SO much.

I was not a fan of Leafstar’s leadership for alot of Skyclan’s Destiny, whereas I loved Firestar’s leadership the entire way through. Firestar wins this one for me. I would also say Sunstar was a pretty good leader.

I haven't read SkyClan's Destiny, but I doubt it'll change my opinion, it could, but considering where Leafstar is now, and what she's been through, I think she's pretty great. Firestar is a fantastic leader too, like he is also a 10/10 leader.

Hmm...I guess Firestar is a good choice, but to me, he feels like the default choice. Personally I don't think he's ever actually experienced "real loss" compared to the other leaders around his time. Probably because TC never fell, and was always usually the clan helping the other clans, hence them earning the disliked "almighty" reputation. I don't think Firestar is a bad leader, but at worst his biggest personal character issues as leader was way back in the first series before OotS painfully tried to shove him back into the forefront so he had relevancy to be killed off.
I feel like a better pick I'll go with is maybe Leafstar? I initially hated her leadership skills in the beginning, to me she was too much of a Firestar "clone" which makes sense because he did help train her. However I just wasn't a fan of that, she didn't stick out much on her own, and it made her boring for me. However, thanks to the spotlight SkyClan got down the road, we know enough about them for them to have a good amount of development on their own, before their move to the lake. This made their development very unique, therefore putting Leafstar, as a leader, into very unique situations.
To me, this was interesting to see, especially how she dealt with situations, made tough calls, and suffered. She's definitely been through more than any other leader, and yet she never really gave up. I initially found her naive, too friendly, and foolish, but her tribulations have made her more brave, wiser, and cautious. She wasn't part of a grand scheme prophecy like Firestar, she didn't have special powers like the three, and she wasn't really a Main Character tm where everything easily fell in place for her. Her actions had consequences and she had to live and learn from them, and she didn't have "main protagonist" tm plot armor to protect her, which I guess is pretty refreshing.
Whereas Firestar is a well-written character, I feel like Leafstar is basically a perfected written character when it comes to leadership. I'm not saying she herself is a perfect character, but that's just it, her flaws make her even more understandable and interesting later on. It's like a slow burn of development after Firestar's Quest. Which makes sense, that's Firestar's book, not hers. And when she's finally put into the spotlight you'll finally see the shift in her character. It's honestly kinda delightful to look at it from an overall general stance.
She went from unsure at being chosen for her position, to confident and kind, openly friendly, then cautious. She tried to keep a balance of things and eventually realizes she can't please everyone, there will always be conflict and loss. I feel that her loss is what hit her the most for her to finally bloom into something more mature. I know it's a bit sad and harsh, but I think the plot play in HJ is probably the best thing that's ever happened to Leafstar's character. You see a leader, who has lost everything, watching everyone dear to her slip through her fingers. She was betrayed, a made a fool of, her cats died and were lost and she blamed herself. They were taken from her, her family, her clanmates, their home, and yet...despite all of that she still had the strength to lead her clan. The strength to lead them from the brink of extinction despite the odds being heavily against them. And yet even when she came to the lake I love that she put her foot, or ya know paw, down and stayed firm in the face of prejudice against her cats. She refused to let other clans treat her and her cats like trash, and would rather leave it if benefitted them than stay with cats that had no respect for them. She's willing to fight and die for her clan, putting them first, and wanting to protect them from that generational pain. I think that's quite admirable of her. I know some of this could be said about other leaders, but again, they never suffered as great as SkyClan ever did, and never would know or understand the pain, let alone having to suffer through it by themselves. SkyClan had better morals than all the lake clans put together, and imo that says enough as to what kind of a leader has been there for them this whole time.
I always personally felt that Cinderpelt was the most well-written character in warriors, and I still stand by that, but this is honestly more so when it comes to side characters. But when it comes to the most intriguing and well-developed written leaders, I feel my choice is Leafstar.

Leafstar and Bluestar are both one of my favs, but I liked Mistystar a lot UNTIL she started closing her clans borders and sided with Tigerstar to push Skyclans camp back, but anyways yeah lol

Darktail killed a few of her warriors, held the others prisoner, and destroyed their camp, they needed time to rebuild and what not. As for siding with Tigerstar...all of the leaders were pretty much jerks in that situation
