Barkclaw / Leafheart ~Skyblaze~
"Leafheart?" Wishing to be respectful, Barkclaw called the medicine cat's name as he stood just outside of her den's entrance, his paws steady and purposeful. The very last thing he wanted was to take her away from a more pressing task, as his was no physical ailment. Hard work was important to him as a warrior, and he extended the same honour to the duties of his clan's medic. In truth, the tom was desperate. Turtlepaw was the clan's youngest apprentice, and Barkclaw was one of the youngest mentors. He dreaded the same fate that had befallen his brother Oakfur's apprentice to befall his own. Being a logical and deep thinking tom, Barkclaw was determined to seek answers, or hints for keeping Turtlepaw safe, from anyone he respected. Leafheart had a good head on her shoulders, and something about the she-cat spoke straight to Barkclaw. Maybe it was StarClan's wisdom that could save his Turtlepaw.

Nutpelt & Oatkit / Snaketail brambleflight : Nursery
With Oatkit fast asleep, Nutpelt had snuck just in front of the nursery's entrance to catch the day's rays and escape the inside's stuffiness. Grooming her dark fur, her eyes lit up at the sight of her mate approaching, and with what appeared to be a fresh catch no less. Fearing above all else to wake Oatkit, who seemed to never rest since she had turned a moon old, Nutpelt called as softly as she could in greeting. "My very favourite prey! You really have made the past moons far too easy for me." While Nutpelt had never particularly believed herself to be capable of being a queen, she now thought it to be the place she fit best in the clan. And with Snaketail's companionship, her time raising Oatkit had been no less than a dream.

If Nightwing had been eating or drinking something, she would of spit it out in surprise by the plan. She couldnโt really take back her words about any idea being great instead of waiting, but this wasnโt what she expected. โIโm not saying this is a bad idea or anything...โ Her words were trailing as she thought hard on what to say. โBut are you sure thatโs safe? We donโt even know what happened to them, but what if they faced something way stronger than anything weโve faced before?โ It felt impossible to say it was a good idea while also keeping in mind they couldnโt just sit around either.

Turtlepaw - Apprentice Den - Open Turtlepaw stepped into the apprentice den and let out a soft sigh as her gaze sadly swept over all of the now empty nests. What started with Honeypaw had now claimed three of her denmates. She couldn't help but wonder what had happened to them. The den felt colder and a bit ominous now that there were far few apprentices in it. I should have talked to them more.. she frowned turning to step back out of the den. Turtlepaw was quite the chatterbox anyways but it had been difficult to hold conversations with the quiet nature of Shallowpaw and the fierceness of Icepaw. Honeypaw had been the easiest to converse with out of the missing three but even then Turtlepaw felt that she hadn't spoken to her as much as she now wished she would have. "I can't believe it either." The somber mew came from Wolfpaw who had come to stand next to his denmate. Like Turtlepaw, Wolfpaw was one of the younger apprentices, and more experienced apprentices than he had gone missing. His blue eyes were troubled. "I'm sure Sparrowstar is working on a solution as we speak." He mewed reassuringly, though he sounded more confident than he felt. Three of their number were gone now, and secretly, it seemed like all the apprentices shared the same sentiment. The unspoken question hung in the air of the apprentice's den like a thick fog. Who was going to be next?

Sparrowstar / Nightwing stitch : Leader's Den
Sparrowstar worked hard to mask her disappointment at Nightwing's doubt. Ever optimistic, the leader had somewhat convinced herself that her plan sounded far less dangerous than it really was. This will be the reaction from many of our clan if we choose this option, she thought, I'll need to practice my response to their justified worry. "You're right to say that," Sparrowstar assented, "But we will do better facing an enemy when we know what it is, even if it's like nothing we've faced before. If we never know what's taking our apprentices, who's to say these disappearances won't just continue while we live powerless?" Sparrowstar looked at her deputy with a more earnest approach and continued, "I won't let this clan believe their leader will allow their young members to slip away without a fight."

(I'm currently going with Starclan has shared nothing with her, but if you'd like that to be different let me know! ^^) Leafheart let out a small sigh as she sifted a delicate paw through the marigold and comfrey they had in store. In the days since Honeypaw's disappearance, she had made sure to keep the herbs well stocked, looking to the battle ahead to deal with the predator who had taken her. To her consternation, two more apprentices had seemingly vanished, with no sign of a struggle. The Clan was discomforted, and there was little she could do to assuage their fears. StarClan had told her nothing of the matter. At least Flickerpaw was almost always within her sight and spent very little time in the forest, and never alone. The young she-cat was a bright learner but still inexperienced in the forest, and even before the disappearances, she had her go out with her or a warrior guard. Now, she didn't even risk the chance, and had Flickerpaw deal with injuries and ailments around camp, while Leafheart ventured out into the forest to collect herbs. She hated denying her apprentice the chance to learn more of the territory, but her safety came first. Then, a voice cut through her thoughts, and she recognized it as Barkclaw. "Come in." She invited. His voice sounds strong and healthy. She noted, already beginning her diagnosis before she even saw her potential patient.

โIโm sorry if I acted like I had doubt in your plan, Sparrowstar.โ Shame washes over the black cat which made her frustrated. She knew this would be a lot better than anything else and the slight doubt could make it possible for more cats to go missing. โBut who are you going to send?โ She asked. โWill you be taking our medicine cat or her apprentice in case something goes wrong?โ Nightwing could come up with many scenarios that can go wrong than anything positive at the moment.

โข~โขIvypawโข~โข สแดแดสสแดสแดแด ยป With her mentor, Nightwing, appearing to be busy with Sparrowstar the young apprentice slinked away to find her sister. Ever since the disappearances of their den mates, Ivypaw did her best to keep tabs on her littermate. Approaching the medicine cats den in hopes of finding Flickerpaw, the multi-colored shecat found the strong scents of Leafheart and Barkclaw. A small sigh of frustration escaped her lips and she turned away not wanting to interrupt the medicine cat as she tended to a possible patient. Sitting down a couple tail-lenths away from the medicine cats den Ivypaw looked around the camp. Lifting her muzzle high for her nose to catch all possible scents on the breeze she continue her search for Flickerpaw. โขยคEaglefrostยคโข Open @ anyone Due to recent events Eaglefrost had taken it upon himself to help strengthen the camps defenses. He was currently struggling with a tangle of briars trying to place it perfectly into the camps wall to fill a hole that had formed over time. "Ahhh!", he hissed lips curling back. Thorns dug into his forelegs painfully but he powered through untill the briars were secured in place. Finally he pulled away, yellow eyes glowing, "Cats are so lazy! How in all the moons did they allow the camp walls to get this bad?..." the rest of his complaints became inaudible as he ranted on under his breath.

Turtlepaw - Apprentice Den - w/ ~Skyblaze~ 's Wolfpaw Turtlepaw blinked and turned her head to look over at Wolfpaw as he joined her. She let out a sigh, the normally upbeat apprentice brought down by the disappearances and worry of who would be next. However, hearing him voice his hope for Sparrowstar coming up with a solution did help add to her own hope, even if Wolfpaw himself was still doubtful. "I hope so.. I hope I can help too!" she meowed with a spark of determination and frustration in her voice. The young she-cat looked over at Wolfpaw, a small frown crossing her features. "It doesn't make sense either why just us apprentices are disappearing... I want to help the warriors stop it. They already took three of us... I don't want to see anyone else go."
Despite his own misgivings about the recent events, Wolfpaw couldn't help but feel a surge of protectiveness towards his denmate. They were all reeling from the sudden disappearances, but she was the youngest of the apprentices and he was sure she was the most scared. And being a good friend took precedence over his own fears. "Don't worry, whatever it is, it's not coming near camp with all the warriors around. And if it does, I'll shred it." He promised, resting his tail tip on her shoulder. "Come on, why don't we go ask someone to take us hunting?" He offered, hoping to take her mind off of it.

[Hiya Hawk! We're a bit more evened out for gender now, but I would say to limit to maybe only one apprentice if you're wanting one because we're quite full in that department.

[I'm open to StarClan hijinks related to the missing cats, for now we can say it's not happened yet if you like?] Barkclaw / Leafheart ~Skyblaze~ : Medicine Cat Den
Pleased at her invitation, he knew he would have answers soon, positive or negative. Barkclaw entered slowly in case Leafheart tended to another cat or, as he saw was indeed the case, was carefully arranging herbs. "Please tell me if I'm taking your time away from something, it's nothing urgent that I need from you." His green gaze flicked over her black paws, touching marigold and...he couldn't draw to mind the name of the second. Barkclaw shook his head, accepting that some knowledge was simply better left with medicine cats. "I'll try not to linger too long. I'm sure I'm not the first that's come to you worried about everything. If what I ask is not my place, then I'm sorry." Too vague. Get to the point, you're wasting her valuable time, he thought, cross with himself. "I only wondered if StarClan has shown you anything. Anything at all, not even about Honeypaw, Shallowpaw and Icepaw, even if it's just something that may keep Turtlepaw safe." In his mind, coming to her with this worry seemed practical and appropriate, but as he blathered on, Barkclaw thought he sounded more desperate and confused than he liked to come off as.

Nutpelt / Snaketail brambleflight : Nursery
Nutpelt nuzzled the tom cheerily. "I've been the same. Keeping Oatkit from wandering off is enough for for myself and Morningsun both, I've no idea how we'll manage once her kits arrive." The queen was glad to have a companion in the nursery, Nutpelt had never fared well when left to look after things herself. That's why Oatkit's determination to leave her mother was so perplexing to Nutpelt, just where did that independence come from? She settled next to Snaketail, leaning against him as she took a large bite of food. The warm taste, Snaketail's comforting presence, and Oatkit's tiny snores from the nursery was almost enough to make Nutpelt forget the worries their clan faced these days, but not quite. "Is there any news that I've missed?" Her green eyes were wide with concern. Nutpelt didn't typically follow the drama of camp, but her frail heart couldn't bear thinking of how tragic the apprentices' disappearances were.

In his mind, coming to her with this worry seemed practical and appropriate, but as he blathered on, Barkclaw thought he sounded more desperate and confused than he liked to come off as.(Sure, works for me!) Leafheart wrapped her tail around her paws as Barkclaw entered the den. She appreciated how polite and careful he always was, making sure not to disturb anything every time he entered. Unlike some apprentices. She thought wryly. She tipped her head to the side as he carried on, blue eyes going from expectant, to confused, to amused, and despite herself, she couldn't control a musical rumble of amusement at how the tom was dancing around his own words, as if they were thorns that would poke him at any second. "Don't worry Barkclaw, you aren't interrupting anything at all. I always have time for my clanmates." She prompted. Finally, he arrived at his quandary, and her head drooped slightly. "This was what she had feared. That eventually, her clanmates would come to StarClan for answers, and despite her best efforts, she couldn't provide any. She raised her head once more. "I'm sorry Barkclaw." She apologized. "StarClan hasn't shared anything with me on this matter. It looks like this is something we'll have to figure out on our own. In the meantime, I'd recommend keeping an eye on her and making sure that when she goes out, she's with a warrior. I'd make that recommendation to all the apprentices, but that's Sparrowstar's call." She hated the bitter taste of disappointment in her mouth, disappointment that she was sure he felt. "I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help." She apologized again.

[Ah no that's so rough sorry to hear:( ] Sparrowstar / Nightwing stitch : Leader's Den
She shook her head with a small smile. "No, my old friend, you're just the doubt I need. You know as well as I that not all our clanmates will go along with this happily." With grave knowingness, she listened to the deputy. "I think it's important for Leafheart to stay here with us. And I fear Flickerpaw is too young to be leaving without her mentor beside her." She cast her gaze away for a moment. Of course, she had already thought over who would venture on this patrol in her imaginings. "We would instruct them to turn back if the danger is too great. Their main goal will be to find out what has happened to the apprentices, bringing them home if they can, or bringing us information for a larger rescue if they can't." With a heavy sigh, Sparrowstar continued on through the points she had arrived upon. "We can't spare too many warriors. I want to send Dandelionfur and Eaglefrost along with their apprentices, just in case the young ones know their denmates better than the warriors. Badgerheart can lead them, he's the one with most experience, and he's been driven practically mad at the loss of Icepaw."

She couldn't imagine how the warriors whose apprentices disappeared without a trace felt at the moment and knew she'd feel panicked if hers suddenly went as well. "I believe this is the right choice," she mewed with great earnest. "It's going to be tough having them gone for a day or more, but if we get information we can head towards the path that leads us to having them back safe." This slight hope brought a spark of determination in her eyes and she lashed her tail, hoping this can be done sooner than later.
