Oatkit felt herself sinking into Alderstripes's tale as she closed her eyes for a moment and tried to picture Leopardgaze, the spotted warrior, fighting off a dog, whatever those looked like. She went on every patrol, maybe that's how to become the best warrior, she noticed. "Did she still have friends? Or was she too fierce for anyone?" she asked curiously. Hootshade's purr joined the sound of the other elder tom's, and Oatkit greeted, "Hootshade! You're awake too! Alderstripes is telling me about Leopardgaze. I want to fight like her when I'm a warrior." If she didn't feel so dozy, she would have batted the air as a demonstration.
Badgerheart took note of the way the patrol was shaping already. Dandelionfur's bright pelt fell in far behind, a wise choice for the brighter warrior to remain further back in case of alerting anything ahead. She's clever, and so capable, he thought thankfully, confident in the younger warrior's place in their group. He flicked his ears behind him and heard Eaglefrost's affirmation. Being surrounded by warriors he trusted was a blessing for the tom. "I think we'll continue down the middle of the territory, they seemed to be taking the most direct route to the thunderpath when we tracked them," he thought aloud to the tom behind him, "The closer we are to exactly where they crossed, the easier it will be to pick up their trails again. Icepaw was the last to go, we should be alert for her scent." Honeypaw's is likely long blown away by now, he thought grimly.
Patchpaw & Sleekpaw/ Snowdapple cowbird : Camp Patchpaw jolted awake and shook out her dense fur to rid it of dried moss. "Sleekpaw!" she prodded her brother. She cheerily met her mother's gaze and left the den to wait for her littermate. "Sleekpaw was supposed to wake us before dawn to say goodbye to Badgerheart," she explained, then jokingly mewed, "I promise you won't have to wake us when we're warriors!" She blinked in morning light as she wondered excitedly whether Snowdapple's presence meant perhaps they could do something with her today. Patchpaw idolised the warrior, and was only too happy to take what lessons she could from her.
Sleekpaw & Patchpaw / Snowdapple : Fresh-kill pile Sleekpaw dragged himself away from a deep sleep, mumbling "...mousebrain" under his breath with his sister's rude prod. He had stayed awake too long trying to make it to dawn like Badgerheart, and had given into sleep unwittingly. He glowered at Patchpaw and he rose, twigs from her pelt hitting his face. He disliked his sister blaming him, but stayed silent as he joined Snowdapple outside the den. "I can take care of myself when I'm a warrior. I certainly won't need Patchpaw," he muttered.

Briarkit woke up, Oatkit had left her behind again, she was quite bored, staying everyday in the nursery, Without Nutpelt noticing, she left the nursery and went to the camp, “where could have Oatkit go” she thought, suddenly she heard her voice coming from the elders's den, she hid near the entrance, ready to pounce when Oatkit came out.

StealthfireHootshade nodded as he stretched stiffly. “Ahhh yes. Good old Leopardgaze. A great warrior indeed,” he mewed rustily. He looked at Alderstripes expectantly, waiting for his long time denmate to finish his story. “I had hope so!” Snowdapple snipped, then warmed seeing her daughters calm demeanor and her brother’s crabbiness. “Now, now Sleekpaw. You will always need her. We will always need each other not only because we are family but because we are a Clan.” She licked both of her older kits and turned away. “C’mon- lets have so,e breakfast.”

(Hello, I am so sorry! Life has gotten super busy and stressful lately with this whole virus thing. My younger sister is currently stuck in another country and I had to move home from my school so life has been crazy. I'm still working on homework, but I wanted to let you all know that I am still here and will be doing my best to write up a response as soon as I can. For when I do write up the reply, would someone be able to catch me up on what is happening in thee clan?)

"She had a close nit group of friends." Alderstripes explained. "They were a group of cats who understood her and could see past her ferocity. She lived for a long time and died protecting her clanmates from a vicious rogue!" cowbird Stealthfire

Rp>>> The warrior looked down at the little she-cat. He felt bad that such a burden lay on her shoulder, and he was completely helpless. He wished he could go in her place, but knew that their leader had a reason for everything, and maybe this was the trip that would make her a warrior. "Lets look to Starclan for good news, but no the kind you were referring too." He licked her ear, a frail attempt of comfort. "You should feel proud that our leader has trusted you with such a mission though, i wish I was able to go as well." He added, sniffing the air.

Buzzingwind nodded his head as Cindernight agreed to it being alright to catch something for themselves. Despite his tendency to appear distracted, the tom paused to scent the air. Although the trip out for prey had been planned last minute, he was still determined to catch prey for the elders as well as for them now as well. "Works for me!" the ginger tom meowed with a nod. He turned his head, blinking in mild surprise as he noticed the she-cat already taking off towards rabbit's ridge. Hurriedly, he bounded after her, only slowing once he caught up with Cindernight once more. "Those rabbits won't stand a chance today. Not with the both of us after them." he boasted quietly as his yellow eyes swept over their surroundings.
|| Cindernight & Buzzingwind ||
Rp>>> Cindernight let out a low growl, a warning to the tom to lower his voice as they neared the hunting grounds. "If you keep prancing and yowling like that they'll go and tell their families were out, fur ball." Her voice was fim, yet there was a a teasing hint hidden in there. As the pair happened upon the field, Cindernight filtered the air through her senses. She caught wind of a large rabbit somewhere up ahead. She lowered herself into a hunting crouch and motioned for Buzzingwind to mind his manners while she tried to catch dinner. She lowered herself down and slowly stalked forward. Just ahead of her, in the tall grass, a large rabbit stood scratching at the ground. She launched herself high, landing square on the hare. She quickly nipped its neck and watched it as life slowly left its body. She gave thanks to starclan and turned to look at Buzzingwind.

"Wow," Oatkit breathed as Alderstripes continued his enthusiastic telling. She was easily swept into a story, and her disregard for the authority of older cats, even her mother, was only an exception with the elders. She respected them for all the knowledge they had, they could truly tell her how to become an incredible warrior. One word stood out to her in the story, however. "A rogue? Is a rogue a clan cat? Why are they dangerous?"
Patchpaw & Sleekpaw/ Snowdapple cowbird : Camp Patchpaw, without a spiteful bone in her splotched body, felt nothing but warmth toward her brother as their mother corrected his sourness. She was pleased with Snowdapple's description: they were family, but they were foremost a clan. "Yes, that's why Badgerheart left. Because the clan has to come first." She padded happily over to the fresh-kill pile to pick through what was offered that morning.
Sleekpaw & Patchpaw / Snowdapple : Fresh-kill pile Sleekpaw glowered as Snowdapple spoke to him. He was counting down the days until his assessment, when he could break free of his family and live as just a warrior. With Patchpaw tagging along in everything he did, he doubted he would ever be independent though. He recoiled slightly at Snowdapple's tongue against his fur, but followed her anyway to get a meal. "What was your warrior assessment like?" he asked her, eager to the move the conversation to something useful for himself.

Cloudpaw / Territory /
The small apprentice follow shortly behind the patrol of warriors out of camp and deeper into the territory. Her eyes flickered at any movement around them and almost jumped at any noise. This was her first mission out of the territory and it felt as though they've been gone longer than a few minutes. It did make her feel a little better that her mentor had been chosen as well and traveled along side her. If only the others weren't as intimidating to her than the journey would be a whole lot more comfortable. Senior warriors seem to act as though they're better than the apprentices or younger warriors due to their experiences at times. The ones who were far worse was the elders who talk non stop about how in their days things were done differently and cats need more manners. Cloudpaw huffed softly under her breath at the thought. They were apprentices one time as well and should understand the struggle. She noticed herself falling behind from her thoughts and hurried to catch up, feeling her ears burn with embarrassment if any of them caught on.

ღWinтєяღ Hawk and Stealthfire“They are dangerous because the purposefully do harm to us and territory. They seemed to hate us for what we have and many are Clan cats that have been banished for bad deeds,” Hootshade replied solemnly. Snowdapple gazed at her daughter warmly, please at how she could be a strong and understanding cat yet full of happiness and unruffled by the less enthusiastic like her brother. She’ll make a fine warrior, she thought proudly. Not that her son wouldn’t; Sleekpaw, who was reluctantly following them to the freshkill pile, was a well trained tom and she was pleased but his disregard for the less militaristic aspects of Clan life was concerning for her. Nonetheless, she obliged his subject change. “It was rather stressful. My mentor, Darkwing, rest her soul, was one to notice every mistake and call me out. I failed my first one to be honest. You must remain focus is the best advice she gave me and it served me well,” she answered looking at his eager amber gaze.

[here's her starter for anyone who has an opening!:) ] Sparrowstar / Anyone : Camp Sparrowstar emerged from her thickly bramble walled den, yawning the exhaustion from her face. She hadn't slept more than a wink after her final preparations with Badgerheart. Though she wanted him to lead the patrol on his own, she could not get herself to sleep while mulling over the possibilities that lie ahead for the departing cats. Today though, Sparrowstar planned to do warrior duties alongside her clanmates, to be confident and present with them after the boldness of last night's announcement. As she blinked in the sun's first rays, she thought of a hunting patrol, or perhaps she could snag the lead of a border patrol if one had not yet been called. Either way, Sparrowstar needed to ground herself by reconnecting with her clan just as much as she knew they needed her leadership at this time.

Rp>>> Articflame licked his fur, the dust from his nest still clinging to it. Cloudpaw had left for the patrol, making his uneasy and nervous. He hoped that they would come back with good news or no news at all. The apprentices needed to be found, but was the life of multiple warriors worth risking it all? He shook the thought out of his head, ashamed that it had even entered. Movement from the other side of camp caught his eye. Sparrowstar had decided to stay back from the patrol. Thats odd, i figured she would have went herself... He stood to his paws and stepped over to his leader. "Hello." He mewed respectfully. "Do you have a busy day planned?" He mewed, totally unaware of her plans. He didn't get to speak to her very often, so a chance to help out around the camp would be an honor for him.

"Really?" Oatkit mewed, shocked. "What kind of terrible thing does a warrior have to do to be sent away from the clan? I thought we always looked after everyone, even the misbehaving ones." She didn't name names, but a couple of strict warriors who had scolded her in the past for scampering about did come to mind. Or even some of the apprentices when they acted wrongly, did they know they could be sent away?
Sleekpaw & Patchpaw / Snowdapple : Fresh-kill pile Sleekpaw listened intently as Snowdapple spoke. She had failed her first warrior test? To Sleekpaw, though he was bothered by his parents often, he never doubted them as some of the most serious warriors of the clan. "I think Softstep will pass me the first time. I know I'm ready," he meowed, though the confident tom felt a small bit of doubt stirring in him for the first time. He snagged a small shrew with his claw and took a bite. Sparrowstar peered down at the small kit that stood before her. "Well, hello, Briarkit," she greeted merrily. Sparrowstar felt at ease with the youngest of the clan, if not for her position, she wouldn't have ruled out having a litter of her own. "It's too bad you're still a few moons out from joining me today, I sure could use a trustworthy clanmate to patrol alongside. But," she grinned with a mischievous look, "Nutpelt would hardly allow that, would she? I'll have to make up for it to you by visiting you and your sister in the nursery later. I promise we can have a worthy battle," she gave Briarkit an affectionate purr, and noticed Articflame's approach.
"Good morning," she returned. "I'd like to lead out a small border patrol, I want to see for myself that everything is in order before leafbare." Sparrowstar was wary of predators being pushed into BrightClan territory as prey dried up elsewhere, and the last thing they needed with fewer warriors was a fox or badger to deal with. "You're welcome to join me, if Nightwing hasn't called you elsewhere."

"Sadly, not every cat is like that. Some do not care for the warrior code and only to do whatever they desire." Alderstripes mewed. Thankfully most followed the code or at the very least didn't break any of the major ones. "Attacking or betraying your clanmates would be one of the reasons someone is kicked out."

StealthfireHootshade saw the gears working in the little cat’s head and he rushed to assure her. “You won’t be sent away for any little thing now. Every cat has their own personality and they manifest in different ways which is why we should learn and support our Clanmates. But sometimes... sometimes some Clan mates do things that can threaten our survival and cause us pain. And we cannot let cats like that stay.” Snowdapple purred and took a bite of her mouse and swallowed. “You’ll do great dear,” she rumbled and looked over to Patchpaw. “You both will.”

Rp>>> Articflame allowed a large rumbling purr to escape his chest. He always had a soft spot for kits, and he hoped to be worthy to father his own one day. As She bounded off, he turned his attention back to his leader. " I havent been assigned anything for the time being." He mewed, excited to get to go on a patrol with his leader. He wasnt too worried about unwanted animals or cats, but that may be his nieve mind at work. "Were there any there cats you wanted to bring along?" He asked, glancing around.
