I prefer the term molly, mainly for the same reason Brindlefern listed - it is a little jarring to see the term tom being used for male cats, but she-cat for female cats. I honestly don't get the decision behind this name choice, and I doubt it would've hurt to use both technical terms for the cats rather than just one. They might as well have named toms he-cats as well, lol.
