I have another headcanon, this one has to do with why Shrewclaw is so negative towards tunnelers, and it all begins with Flamepelt.
Flamepelt is described as dark ginger, you know who else is described as dark ginger? Redclaw.
Tunnelers are said to be the smallest cats in the clan, you know who else is described as small? That's right, Redclaw.
I think that Redclaw is Flamepelt's son, but that's not all, I also think that Flamepelt has another son, and his name rhymes with Landhorse.
Now, let's get into the theory.
Sandkit and Redkit were super close, always practicing their tunneling, and listening to Flamepelt tell stories about how cool tunneling is, and what not.
However, that all changed, when Brackenkit became Brackenpaw, and was apprenticed as a moor-runner.
She and Redkit were pretty close, not as close as he and Sandkit, but she was probably his second favorite kit in the nursery.
Anyway, after becoming an apprentice, Brackenpaw would sometimes bring prey back to the nursery, and chat with Redkit for awhile, telling him how thrilling it was to be running out on the moor, and all that jazz.
A few moons later, when Redkit became Redpaw, he was already smitten with Brackenpaw, and the idea of being a moor-runner, so he asked the leader if he could be apprenticed as one.
When Redpaw was apprenticed as a moor-runner, and said nothing about how he wanted to be a tunneler, Sandpaw felt betrayed, because he thought, that they would be a great tunneling team, something they talked about all the time when they were kits.
His feelings of betrayal turn to anger, and he spits at Redpaw, telling him, that if he wasn't going to be a tunneler, then he no longer considers him a brother.
Which, makes Redpaw mad, and he carries Sandpaw's words with him, just allowing them to fuel his hatred towards him, and the whole of tunneling, because he believes that if it wasn't for tunneling, then he and Sandpaw would still be close.
They end up getting their warrior names, Sandgorse and Redclaw, but their relationship is never repaired, and Redclaw is still angry and hurt, so he crap talks the tunnelers every chance he gets, even around his own children.
I imagine that Shrewkit really admired his father, a lot like how Goosefeather admired Rooktail, and the reason Barkkit wasn't hostile towards tunnelers, was because he never really cared about all that, he subconsciously knew, or maybe even consciously knew, from the very start, that he wanted to be a medicine cat.
Anyway, that's my theory on my Shrewclaw dislikes tunnelers.
TL;DR: Redclaw and Sandgorse are brothers, they had an argument which led to a life-long feud, that affected Shrewclaw.
