Okay, so I had an idea, but I'd really just like some other/moderator feedback on how I'm going to do this.
So say I were to create a story that didn't exactly fit the pg-13 limit. Mild cursing, mentions of 'adult content', possible triggers ect. I would be allowed to share this via pm as the rules. I would post the 'main page' on the topic it needed to be in --fanfiction or otw-- that is completely following the pg-13 limit, probably just a summary, characters, fans and such. If people are interested in reading it, they'd have to make some sort of post saying so, and that they read and acknowledge that there will be mature content (maybe have an age limit? i'm on the fence about that). After doing so, they would be added to the group pm where they can read the story. No one would be added without their consent, and anyone can leave the group at any time. There will be ample warnings in all posts that the material included has mature content.
I'm putting this out there to get your opinions on the matter and fill in any holes of logic I may have missed. As of my knowledge, this would follow all forum rules while allowing those who wish to write/read pg-13 stories do so. Thoughts?

I like this idea. I mean, the age demographic here, from what I know, is almost nothing like the wcf. Nobody here I've met it below 11 years of age, and that's when people start to mature and can handle things younger kids cannot. So, I think it's a good idea, but the mods have more than my two cents on this.

I think it's a good idea. The age limit especially - the PG-13 rule protects people up to and under 13 for a reason, and by us users following it it protects the site.
I think having an age limit that corresponds with "age of consent" would be safest. However that is very different depending on your country or state (in Texas it is 17, other states it is 18, in Japan it is 13). I think it would be best to see who is interested and what their average age range is, so that you can get an idea of where you should put the age cap at.

people under 13 aren't allowed to legally join this forum anyways so there probably wouldn't be a problem

As A crying Nidoking said, age of consent would be a good idea to use and follow for this idea. argyle lechuga is right; anyone under 13 who joins isn't accepted. That being said, the idea of a thread using the information and then PM'ing the chapters is a good idea. I only wonder if it would be difficult for you unless you do a major PM, including a load of users. I'm okay with this idea, though I'm wondering if the other mods have different opinions. |

That's just my thoughts. And there's some things I'd wish to share that don't quite fit into the requirements for those that wish to read such things.
If I were to do an 'age limit', it would probably just be more of a recommendation? Like 'content may not be appropriate for users under 16, proceed with caution' or something.

Yeah, that's where I was going with it.
I would probably have two big pm groups: one for the actual story that I wouldn't allow anyone to post on (to keep the chapters in order since we can't edit pms unfortunately) and another for the commenting/chatting that has to deal with the story, for things said that could be on the iffy side of the rules to be posted on the main page.
As long as the general idea is okay with the mods, I'm cool with it ^^
I just wanted to get some more ideas and thoughts before I started planning this out to make sure I didn't miss something huge I was doing wrong. ;D

There is no problem with taking things to PMs, we don't actually have access to those.
What must happen is consent. If anyone does not give consent to these pms, then we encourage them to contact the staff. We do not take to a lack of consent lightly.

I will not add anyone to the group without them having went to the thread and signing the 'waiver' that shows they know of the mature content and are okay with being added. I would be cautious with who was added. And it would be a group pm thing, I would not personally 1on1 message anyone with content they haven't approved of.
