About ~ ~ ✧ Then... Set in the dragon world of Pyrrhia, around two hundred years after the events of the Dragonet Prophecy. The world is at peace, but a strange new enemy is spreading throughout the land, causing discord and leaving chaos in its wake. No one knows what the threat is. All any witnesses have seen is a "dark, shadowy figure that disappears within a blink." But they all know what it does: destroys. Homes, businesses, lives. Nothing is safe from the darkness sweeping through Pyrrhia, nothing... and no one. Just when the dragons of the tribes believe this new danger may just bring about their end, they receive new hope. A prophecy has come from the NightWings, and one dragon from each tribe will be chosen to save the world.
The only question left is... from what?
Now... The tribes have their hope, and now they have a mission: choose the dragon meant to represent their whole tribe. To do that, the tribes of Pyrrhia are each hosting a competition to decide who is the best fit for the job. The MudWings seek their strongest warrior; the SandWings their most cunning. The SkyWings want their fiercest fighter; the SeaWings hope for an animus to save them all. The RainWings need their most resourceful; and the IceWings desire their most powerful. The NightWing who had the prophecy vision is being sent from tribe to tribe to witness these competitions, and to give the final vote on who will be chosen to join in his fight to save the Seven Kingdoms.
The time of the new prophecy is beginning...
✧ ~ ~ Rules You know what? You people know the rules; most everyone uses the same set, they just change the wording a bit. So I am just gonna skip over this part. So long as you guys are following the forum rules and being as active as your daily life allows, then I'm sure we'll get along fine. I believe you're all old enough to treat people, and their role-plays, the way you want (yours) to be treated. I will say this, though: each dragon within the prophecy will have their moment to shine, and I'm sure we can even give some of the side characters a moment of fame at some point. So no worries, guys! You'll all have a chance to be the star of the show. C; Oh, and one more thing: for anyone who isn't a fan/reader of the books, don't hesitate to ask me whatever! I will always do my best to answer your questions to the best of my knowledge. And if I can't, then there's this great Wings of Fire Wiki you can all check out. It is very helpful. ;D
Joining ~ ~ ✧
Only ONE prophecy dragon per person, but feel free to make as many side characters as you want! The prophecy dragons are first come, first served.
For those making NighWings: NOT ALL OF THEM ARE BORN WITH POWERS. If this stays a small role-play, then this probably won't be a problem, but if too many people end up joining with powered NightWings, I will put a damper on that. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
To those who want an animus dragon: I have put the limitations on those with the tribe descriptions below. Once those spots are gone, they're gone. NO EXCEPTIONS. (Unless you PM me with a really, really good reason.) Name tribe ~ ✧ ~ age ~ ✧ ~ gender

Pyrrhia ~ ~ ✧
Credit to Red-Rainbow-Fox from DeviantArt Notes on the Map: ✧ The names of the Queens are outdated. I apologize. I didn't want to alter the original artwork (which isn't mine, ICYMI), and even if I did, I do not have the skills necessary for such editing. ✧ At the end of the main books, the NightWings were living in the rainforest under the rule of the RainWing queen, Glory. I have decided, for the sake of this role-play, to add my own bit of history: sometime during the last two hundred years, the NightWings began to slowly rebuild their Lost City. Sometime during the last fifty to seventy-five years, they completed the rebuilding and the vast majority of the tribe moved to the new Night Kingdom. I am sure some stayed, namely any who had taken a RainWing mate; reversely, it is entirely possible a few RainWings chose to go to the Night Kingdom with their NightWing mate. As such, NightWing-RainWing hybrids, or those descended from such hybrids, are entirely possible and probably very likely. ✧ If you want more information on each individual Kingdom, feel free to check out the links below:

✧ Character Page ✧ Prophecy Dragons ~ ~ ✧
Starfire NightWing ~ ✧ ~ Thirteen ~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ Starfire is larger than average for his age, with a powerful body and graceful proportions. His scales are mostly black, smooth and glossy and with hints of deep blue and dark violet when the light hits them just so. He has a scattering of dark grey scales, as well as blue-grey scales across his shoulders and down his back to the base of his tail. The underside of his wings settle on black with a scattering of silver scales, but Starfire has enough RainWing blood in him that he can shift the colors of his wings at will. He can not make them the same bright, flashy colors of full RainWings, however. Instead, when he shifts the colors, he makes the underside of his wings look like an aurora borealis across a night sky. He does not do this often, and as such, very few know he can at all. Even during the rare instances when his wing scales shift based on his mood, it is easy enough for him to hide. His eyes are lighter than many NightWing eyes tend to be, and a shade of bright blue not often seen on NightWings. ✧
✧ confident, dependable ✧ restrained, absentminded ✧ sarcastic, aloof ✧
✧ Starfire is the son of Eclipse and Dusk. His father, Eclipse, is a professor at Night School; his mother, Dusk, is a soldier in Queen Fearless's army, as well as the daughter of a RainWing. Starfire has one sister, Skydancer, who, like their mother, looks more RainWing than NightWing. Starfire has a very close relationship with his father and sister, and while the bond between him and his mother is not as strong, they are still close. Starfire had a normal, happy childhood, but life became a little more difficult when he started school. RainWings were no longer looked at with scorn or pity by most of the tribes, but there were many NightWings who hate that RainWing blood has been mixed with their own. This hate has made life difficult for the dragonets descended from RainWings - dragonets like Starfire and his sister. Starfire had it a little easier, as he looks like a pure NightWing whenever he keeps his color-changing underwings hidden. His sister was not so lucky, and by defending her, Starfire earned his own aggravators. This did not bother him as much as it could have, but it still caused a divide between him and most of the NightWings his age, making him an outcast for much of his dragonet years. Starfire was born under the light of one full moon, giving him the gift of foresight. He was a bit of a late bloomer in terms of his power, and did not even know it was there until he was almost eight years old. It has since grown much stronger, but it is not as... "refined" as other prophecy powers. Rather than visions of the future, Starfire's power manifests more often as a strong intuition, or sometimes a premonition. He does receive the occasional vision, but most have been minor and mostly inconsequential. With one startling exception: Starfire is the Speaker of the New Prophecy. ✧ Fen MudWing ~ ✧ ~ Ten ~ ✧ ~ Non-binary ✧ Fen is a larger MudWing, their wings the biggest part of them. Built like a tank, they have soft amber scales that mix in with the flat brown ones that speckled their back. Along their underside, small ribbons of gold scales trail down to their short legs. Their left ear is pierced, and they have many small scratches and scars from previous scuffles with their siblings and other dragons. Fen loves jewelry but rarely wears anything more than an earring. However, that never stops them from obsessive over the things their siblings and others choose to adorn themselves with. ✧
✧ curious, cunning ✧ spontaneous, prideful ✧ gullible, impulsive ✧
✧ Fen is the BigWings of their sibling pact, and they and their two brothers Rust and Mayfly are as close as can be. They grew up in a more middle class family, and they never really had to struggle for much. They always had full bellies and time for hobbies. Fen's hobby was science. They would always spend time mixing different chemicals or breaking down compounds. They made money for their siblings, selling homemade medicines and stronger chemicals for cleaning and pesticides. More recently, Fen has been planning a trip around the continent to explore and learn more about the world around them. ✧ Rambutan RainWing ~ ✧ ~ Twelve ~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ Slightly smaller than average, Rambutan is not a powerful dragon. Even his venom-spitting talents are weak, as he can rarely hit his targets. Where he really finds his talent is in conversation, easily fitting in to various social circles. He has a way of making you feel at ease, even if you've only know him for a few minutes. Rambutan's preferred color scheme is a collections of pinks, purples, and yellows, and he's very good at not letting his emotions show through in his scales - at least not obviously. He always wears a slight grin, as if he's just heard something amusing. ✧ ✧ charismatic, confident ✧ talkative, stubborn ✧ manipulative, jealous ✧
✧ Rambutan, like most RainWing dragonets, grew up under the guidance and care of the whole Tribe. This is where he began to grow adept socially. Rambutan was always a social butterfly, and even now has at least four separate friend groups in the tribe. He's perfectly content with his life, and loves the relative peace and friendliness he finds in the rainforest. However, he can't deny a vague sense of interest in politics and intrigue, and has done as much research as he could about other tribes. He's grown rather adept at changing his scales to appear as other tribes, even though he's only seen them in person a few times. Rambutan has considered leaving the rainforest on a journey to the other tribes several times, but always talks himself down. He doesn't want to leave his friends in the RainWing tribe, even though he's confident he could make new ones. He has a pet sloth named Fuzzy. ✧ Taiga IceWing ~ ✧ ~ Twelve~ ✧ ~ Female ✧ Slender and graceful, Taiga was bred for elegance, not fighting. Though bigger than some of the other tribes, she is small for an IceWing, and tries to avoid combat when she can. Her scales are the color of moonlit ice, closer to silver than white. The ridge of spines down her neck and back are pale blue, and both her horns and her wing membranes fade from periwinkle blue to lavender. The bridge of her nose is dusted with lavender freckles, and her eyes are a fierce shade of blue with light grey around the pupils. ✧
insert picture here ✧ clever, confident ✧ diplomatic, educated ✧ manipulative, cunning ✧
✧ Taiga was born to Snowdrift and Tern, a pair of lower nobles in the Third Circle. She was a sheltered dragonet , raised to obediently follow the IceWing codes of conduct without question. Knowing they had no chance of ascending the ranks themselves, her parents groomed her for a spot in the Queen's court. By her seventh hatching day, Taiga had worked her way up to the Second Circle, her impeccable manners and talent for diplomacy landing her a place in Tundra's palace. It was easy enough; all she really had to do was look snooty and act full of herself. But Taiga secretly disagrees with many of the Ice Kingdom's strict rules, and has become profoundly disenchanted with their society as a whole. Her experience in dealing with the other tribes has given her an outsider's perspective of the IceWing way of life, and she hopes to use her position in the Queen's court as a catalyst for change. Her ideas may be too radical, however, and the revelation that she is a prophecy dragon has only added another layer of complexity to her plans... ✧ Princess Seaglass SeaWing ~ ✧ ~ Ten ~ ✧ ~ Female
✧ Seaglass is on the smaller side, with a less muscular build that the average SeaWing, giving her a somewhat elegant appearance. Her coloring is mostly lighter blues and greens with darker purple and blue hints. She has rather intricately shaped bioluminescent scales. ✧
insert picture here
✧ intelligent, diplomatic ✧ reserved, determined ✧ stubborn, distant ✧
✧ As the only daughter of Queen Pacific, it is expected that Seaglass will possibly take the throne some day, though likely not anytime soon. Seaglass, however, has never been too interested with becoming queen. Though it is likely she would make a good leader, Seaglass shies away from being positions of power. She doesn't want to be the ruler of anything or anyone. If anything, she longs to have the freedom other dragons have, to go wherever they please and make their own paths in life. Even so, she can feels it is her responsibility to take care of the SeaWings, even if it means taking the throne someday. Her relationship with her parents is somewhat estranged. She understands that from her mother's perspective, she became more of a threat as she grew older, but that doesn't stop Seaglass from feeling somewhat resentful. As such, she has grown into a solitary existence. ✧ Cloudburst SkyWing ~ ✧ ~ Sixteen ~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ Cloudburst is an average sized Skywing, but well muscled and defined, with wings slightly larger than average. His scales are a deep, glittering red, giving him the appearance of being clad in garnets, the scales on his underside a even darker red. Scattered sparingly across his back and wings are glimmering golden scales, not noticeable in dim lighting, but glow and scatter light across his scales when they catch sunlight. The membrane of his wings is a dark gold that shows brighter veins of gold when they are lit by sunlight. His eyes are a warm golden orange, with the scales of his face being the same as his body with the brow ridge the same dark red as his underbelly except for a gold scale at the end of both brows. Cloudburst likes wearing a variety of accessories, a lot of them his own creations. He is normally seen wearing a gold hoop in his nose, a row of three gold bands on his tail, each studded with garnets, and a transparent orange silk scarf he wraps around his shoulders and lets trail over his wings in a stylish manner. ✧ ✧ eloquent, creative ✧ spontaneous, disorganized ✧ pessimistic, worried ✧
✧ Raised in the typical manner of all SkyWings, Cloudburst was taught to fight from a young age, but it was never his passion. His true passion is the arts; music, painting, writing, he does it all, much to the disdain of his parents who would prefer he follows in their family tradition of great warriors. Cloudburst still follows his parents wishes and trains every day, but always sneaks away to practice his art, though he's always cautious because he knows all his instruments and supplies would be taken if they were discovered by his parents. At the appearance of a new threat to Pyyrhia, Cloudburst knows he will be challenged, not necessarily by the dark being, but the expectancy of his parents that he try to fight the creature, but becoming a prophecy dragon is the last thing he wants. ✧ Taipan SandWing ~ ✧ ~ Fourteen ~ ✧ ~ female
✧ Taipan stands a bit smaller than most SandWings, and has a more lean, streamlined build. Like most SandWings, her colors tend to lean more towards desert style, although a bit darker. The scales around the base of her skull and down the sides of her neck are a dark black and grey, and form a sort of pseudo hood, akin to a cobra's. The predominant coloring of her scales is a burnished gold, accented in some places by a tan. Her horns are the same tan, and the membranes of her wings are a pale cream color. Jet black talons and dark grey-black eyes round out the rest of Taipan's features, along with the tell-tale black barb that sits at the end of her tail. ✧
✧ loyal, inquisitive ✧ perceptive, wary ✧ defensive, slow to forgive ✧
✧ Taipan's parents, Iris and Horus, served in the SandWing queen's army and therefore taught Taipan the skills of combat. As a result, she's a rather remarkable fighter, although she tends to rely more on her speed and agility than anything else. Despite the fact that Taipan was raised in the SandWing's palace, she tended to a more solitary lifestyle, and as a result made few friends and was slow to trust. Taipan's slow-to-trust nature obscures her view of the world, making her see life in a more black-and-white manner. Her reluctance to see the world in a more complicated manner means that she is extremely slow to forgive any sort of slight, and will hold a grudge for quite some time. Taipan, at her core, is deeply loyal to those she considers her friends. She's got an inquisitive nature, with a deep love of exploration and ferreting out the world's mysterious, and this inquisitive air also gives her an edge in perception. She's fairly good at reading other dragons and situations, but she's far from perfect in this and sometimes makes mistakes in her deductions and assumptions. ✧

Queen Fern MudWing ~ ✧ ~ Thirty ~ ✧ ~ Female
✧ ~*~ ✧
✧ dedicated, protective ✧ ambitious, progressive ✧ opinionated, indulgent ✧
✧ Fern is an unusual case. Unlike many MudWing queens before her, she is not her siblings' BigWings. She is the bigger sister, however, and she has always displayed a stronger protective instinct than her sister. Like all MudWings, the bonds between Fern and her sibs is strong, but the one she shares with her brother Flint is the strongest. Flint is their sib group's BigWings; Russet the younger brother; and Lavender the youngest of them all. It was for her sake that Fern fought her aunt for the MudWing throne. Originally, Fern had no interest in being queen. But her aunt, Queen Pyrite, was a suspicious, untrusting dragon who felt threatened by all those who might challenge her for her throne. One day she made the mistake of trying to subdue Fern and her supposed plans for the throne by going after Lavender. Fern heard of these plans, and went after Pyrite to stop her. Their confrontation turned into an official challenge for the throne, and Fern came out the victor, and the new Queen of the MudWings. In the five years since her ascension, Queen Fern has won the hearts of many MudWings throughout the kingdom. ✧ Queen Fern's Dragonets: currently none Quagmire MudWing ~ ✧ ~ Thirty-five ~ ✧ ~ Female ✧ Quagmire only stands out by the fact that she is her siblings' Bigwings. Other than that, her subdued reddish-browns and dislike for extra ornaments make her blend into the crowd of MudWings. Her only other defining feature are the faint scars along her wings and talons, both old and more recent. ✧
✧ selfless, maternal ✧ compassionate, overbearing ✧ suspicious, controlling ✧
✧ Quagmire grew up with only one sibling. As the Bigwings, she always felt it was her duty to watch after her sister Swan, even when they were both old enough to not need each other's protection. Swan was always a sickly dragonet, and that only furthered Quagmire's obsessive protection of her. When Swan finally passed away during one of her bouts of illness, Quagmire found herself completely alone and without a purpose. Despite this, she found her reason for living in protecting other MudWings who had lost their sibs. Any unsibs who aren't accepted into other sibling groups are welcome into Quamire's company, the older dragon doing her best to protect and serve all the dragons under her care who have lost their family. ✧ ✧ ~ ~ Kingdom of SandQueen Dawn SandWing ~ ✧ ~ Eighty-two ~ ✧ ~ Female
✧ ~*~ ✧
insert picture here ✧ calm, efficient ✧ complex, intense ✧ calculating, critical ✧
✧ Queen Dawn has a reputation for being a terrifying and cruel ruler. And while there have certainly been cases where that is very true, most of the stories about her are exaggerated - by her design. Dawn took her throne young, challenging and overthrowing her mother when she was only twenty. In the sixty-two years since, Dawn has been a strong and efficient Queen of the SandWings. None of her daughters or nieces have thought to challenge her yet, and if ever Dawn catches wind that one of them might be thinking about it, she has some very effective steps in place to dissuade them. Not because she is power hungry and only wants to keep the throne for herself, but because none of the current candidates are fit to be rulers. ✧ Queen Dawn's Dragonets: four sons & three daughters (age ranges: 20-50 years)
Notos SandWing ~ ✧ ~ Sixteen ~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ Everything about Notos is as bright and in-your-face as possible. His scales are a bright golden color, with a sandy underbelly, and black markings on his face and neck. Like all SandWings, his tail curls into a deadly barb at it's end and his eyes are a beady black. He rarely wears jewelry, although both his ears are pieced, instead opting for long capes and cloaks. He is missing one claw from his back right foot, and he seems to have tiny nicks and scars all over his body. ✧ ✧ practical, cheerful ✧ carefree, resourceful ✧ immoral, lazy ✧
✧ Born on the streets, Notos had to fight for everything he ever had. Whether it be stealing a meal so he could eat, or snatching some poor tourist's jewelry so he could sell it for some extra money, he learned from a young age that the worst thing that could happen to a dragon is to be caught. A street merchant sliced off one of his toes after he stole a ruby ring. While he's had small jobs in the past, he's always found it easier to steal a living than to work for one. Drifting from place to place, he's never had the time to settle down, and the friends he has made among criminal circles are untrustworthy at the best. ✧ Skink SandWing ~ ✧ ~ Three ~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ Skink is baby. A small, scrawny SandWing, he falls under the radar of most other dragons. His parents promise him he'll get big and strong soon, but he doesn't mind being small either. His colors are more dusty browns than gold, although his spinal ridge glistens bright yellow. He wears no jewelry or adornments other than a pair of small leather pouches, safely secured at his side. [image is of adult, there were no baby SandWing refs I could find. poor skink.] ✧
✧ jovial, always looks forwards ✧ adventurous, mischievous ✧ wears emotions on sleeve, lacks self-control ✧
✧ Born to a Royal Guard, Skink has been around high society most of his life. His mother died when he was too young to remember her, but his father often takes him into the Palace with him as he works so that he won't be at home alone. Skink grew up with several of the younger members of the royal family as his playmates, and he knows the Palace like the back of his talon. He hopes to be a Royal Guard like his father when he grows up. However, despite his father's rigid morals, Skink has begun to secretly steal to help their financial status. He wants to see his father living in the same luxury he sees his friends in, and doesn't quite understand the consequences of thievery yet. ✧

✧ In the three decades since Queen Crimson took her throne, she has never once been challenged, and she is confident no one will try for at least another thirty years. Long before Crimson took her throne, she concocted a plan; step one of that plan was faking her own death. She did so so convincingly that no one doubted she was dead for almost twenty years. And during the time of her "death," Crimson slowly, systematically, killed off each and every one of her competitors for the throne. Aunts, sisters, and cousins. Anyone and everyone who was eligible for the throne, should they dare try to fight Crimson's mother, Queen Peregrine. When they were all dead and the Sky Palace was believed by all who lived there to be haunted, Crimson made her grand return, challenged her mother, and won her throne. She has not been challenged by any of her daughters or nieces, for like most of the Sky Kingdom, they fear her to be unkillable. After all... it's not every day a dragon comes back from the dead. ✧ Queen Crimson's Dragonets: Prince Summit, +six brothers & two daughters (age ranges: 20-40 years) Summit SkyWing ~ ✧ ~ Thirty-four ~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ Summit is a large, impressive looking SkyWing, with broad muscled shoulders and wings that could blot out the sun; he is quite the imposing figure. His scales are a warm, gleaming gold color, as if he was dipped in actual liquid gold. His underbelly is a dark orange-gold that matches the color of his spines and wing membrane. Summit's eyes are a deep shade of amber and his horns and claws are black. His one accessory is a golden armband inlaid with a single large ruby. ✧ ✧ realistic, observant ✧ intelligent, passive ✧ solitary, selfish ✧
✧ Summit is a reserved dragon, one you wouldn't think much of, especially since not many have actually seen him, seeing as he resides deep in the Claws of the Clouds Mountains, staying well away from any dragon. He wasn't always like that though, as he is actually one of the sons of Queen Crimson and was once considered an intelligent advisor in her court. Things changed after he met a lovely RainWing ,Hibiscus, and quickly fell in love with her. His heart was broken though when she left the Sky Kingdom after laying two eggs, taking one with her while leaving Empyrean's egg for him to look after. He soon became distant though, things only got worse after Empyrean hatched, he could barely look after her. Summit left her in the care of the palace orphanage and fled for the mountains, never looking back on his life as a prince and a father. ✧ Pyre SkyWing ~ ✧ ~ Fifteen ~ ✧ ~ Female
✧ Significantly tiny in size, Pyre would hardly look dangerous if it weren't for the smoke curling off her iridescent orange scales. Her eyes are an intense golden color, with flecks of red swirling around the pupil. Pyre walks with a significant limp, and her back hips seem to be crooked in their frame, damage from when she was dropped off a cliff as a dragonet. Being a firescales dragon, her whole body radiates an intense heat, and burns with touch. She wears no jewelry as it would melt against the heat of her scales. ✧
✧ cynical, fearful ✧ unambitious, self-conscious ✧ clever, loyal ✧
✧ Pyre never knew much of her parents except for their names: Pigeon and Rouge. After finding out that she was a firescales, they did what any loyal SkyWing would do- drop her egg off the side of the nearest cliff. While her egg was damaged in the fall, Pyre didn't die like her twin did, instead hatching all alone in the mountains. She quickly learned how to hunt for herself, how to hide from the other dragons, how to live on her own. She found a cave filled with moss and water to live in, and stayed mostly to herself for the first 4 years of her life. But when she started exploring her home, she found herself in trouble. There was always the occasional dragon who would pity her, try to teach her to read, to talk, to understand society. But the majority saw her as an abomination, as a threat that needed to be neutralized. She always found more kindness from dragons of other tribes, even managed to blend is as a normal dragon among them. She would barter for treasure's, and carry them back to her cave in animal skins and things that would char before they burnt away , starting a collection of artifacts and gems. However, she still feels like an outcast, and is lonely at her core. ✧ Falcon SkyWing ~ ✧ ~ Fourteen~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ Falcon is a lean, wiry dragon with the massive wings typical of most SkyWings. He's taller than other dragons his age and tends to be clumsier on the ground than in flight. So, like the bird of prey he was named for, he specializes in air combat, able to take down his opponents with exceptional speed. His belly, lower chest, and the insides of his legs are reddish-orange, but the rest of his body is a vivid shade of maroon. His eyes are also orange. He wears a simple chain necklace with an amber pendant on it and a bronze torc around his right bicep. ✧
coming soon ✧ charming, loyal ✧ bold, flirtatious ✧ restive, quick-tempered ✧
✧ Falcon is an ordinary dragon. He had a typical dragonethood. His mother, Robin, was a civilian who married a soldier, Phoenix. He has an older sister named Cerise, a musician who often plays for the Queen at festivals and parties. Falcon himself has enlisted in the SkyWing army like his father, but since the tribes have been relatively at peace, he's currently in the reserves and usually works as a palace guard. His life has been comfortable enough, if rather boring. Most days consist of patrolling the perimeter, joking with other guards on break, and admiring the pretty girls who come all dressed up for palace events (sometimes, if he got lucky, he could even convince one to dance with him, despite having four left talons.) But things have been different since a shadowy threat emerged, threatening not only the SkyWings but all tribes. Content with his role but never exactly happy, Falcon jumped at the chance to serve his kingdom and protect his queen from this unknown enemy. He is usually first on the scene after each new sighting, determined to track down the menace once and for all. ✧ Empyrean SkyWing-RainWing Hybrid ~ ✧ ~ Twelve ~ ✧ ~ Female
✧ Empyrean is a large dragon for her age, her larger frame and head shape coming from her SkyWing father, while her leanness and long prehensile tail and limbs come from her RainWing mother. The base color of her scales is a brilliant yellow gold, stretching from head to tail, her spine a darker orange gold. The RainWing half of her is shown in her underscales and the underside of her wings. She has partial control over how the scales change color, mainly having them appear as the sky at sunset, having rich shades of gold, orange, sky blue, pinks, and purples, but its hard to always control them as they seem to have a mind of their own when she experiences strong emotions. She doesn't have flame breath like SkyWings, leading to much ridicule while growing up among them, though she does have the venom of RainWings, but is hesitant to use it as she's afraid she might hurt someone by accident. ✧ ✧ gentle, sociable ✧ courageous, insecure ✧ gullible, obsessive ✧
✧ Empyrean was raised in an orphanage in the Sky Kingdom even though both her parents still live. Her father, a dragon called Summit, was around for a short time after her hatching, though her mother, a RainWing named Hibiscus, didn't even wait that long, leaving her before she even left her shell. Growing up knowing her parents obviously didn't care much for her since they couldn't be bothered to raise her, Empyrean decided not to give them another thought, preferring to think them dead than have them drag her down through life. Though, learning who her father was would have been beneficial since she would have learned she is the granddaughter of Queen Crimson. Wanting to be a better dragon, Empyrean studied medicine and became a healer at the Palace hospital, caring for dragons every day like she should have been. ✧ Firefly SkyWing ~ ✧ ~ Eight ~ ✧ ~ Female

✧ Queen Pacific was only ten when she took her throne. Not the youngest a new queen has ascended, but surprising nonetheless in her case. At the time of her ascension, Pacific has two sisters, both older and "more qualified" to take the throne. Pacific, being the youngest, was often overlooked. Which was why it was so surprising to everyone when she challenged Queen Aqua — and even more so when she won. To this day, she has not revealed the secret to her victory. She began her reign shrouded in mystery, and that threat of the unknown is what has let her keep her throne for so long. ✧ Queen Pacific's Dragonets: six sons (age ranges: 5-30 years) & one daughter: Princess Seaglass Prince Drift SeaWing ~ ✧ ~ Sixty-five ~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ Drift is a large Seawing with dark blue-green scales that look more like the ocean depths than the surface water. His eyes are a dark blue, almost black, and a long scar traces down from his forehead to the tip of his snout. His figure is very angular, and tight muscles hang to his lanky frame. He always has a piece of jewelry on him, whether it be a simple armband, or a strand of shells strung around his neck. Like a typical SeaWing he has webbed talons, and a set of lighter scales that he can make glow if needed. ✧
✧ intelligent, compassionate ✧ obedient, determined ✧ spineless, arrogant ✧
✧ From a young age Drift knew that one of his sisters would kill his grandmother and become Queen, he just never expected it to be Pacific. Drift was the eldest born of his family, and because he was a son, not a daughter, he was coddled by both his parents and grandparents. The Queen would often take him to court, where he'd learn behavior from observation. It was his grandmother who encouraged his learning, and assigned him to oversee the education in the Kingdom. Drift was 20 when his little sister killed his grandmother, and he's been scared of speaking out against her ever since. While he and his partner Nautilus were unaffected by the change in leadership, Drift never had the strongest connection with his sister, and he fears that she would jump at the opportunity to take out potential heirs if he defies her orders. ✧ Princess Manta SeaWing ~ ✧ ~ Nine ~ ✧ ~ Female
✧ Manta has a very masculine build, well-muscled and bulky. Still, that doesn’t stop her from carrying herself with the sort of delicate grace one might expect from the niece of the Queen. Her scales are a deep teal color, and shimmer slight hints of blues and purples when hit by the light. Her bioluminescent scales are arranged in spiral patterns, with starbursts noting her royal blood underneath her wings. Manta also likes to deck herself in jewelry, usually wearing several pearl necklaces and armbands, as well as a pair of pale yellow apatite earrings she received from her father as a present. ✧
✧ strong, curious ✧ rebellious, airheaded ✧ judgmental, blunt ✧
✧ Manta lived a highly sheltered life, having spent her whole life in the Sea Kingdom. She highly regrets this fact, and often goes on secret adventures throughout the ocean without her parent's knowledge. These often turn into simple hunting trips or pearl searches, however, as once outside of the Palace, she quickly forgets her intentions to go explore other Kingdoms. Manta hates every dragon older than her, as she views them as part of the force keeping her trapped in this 'dreary, boring palace'. ✧ Ammonite SeaWing ~ ✧ ~ Ten ~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ ~*~ ✧ ✧ clever, easygoing, generous ✧ lazy disobedient, paranoid ✧
✧ Born to courtiers of the royal family, Ammonite has known nothing but riches and comfort in his life. Despite his lazy tendencies and love of comfort, Ammonite is always willing to lend a claw to those he sees as less fortunate. He has been known to give his jewels and riches away to random passerby, thinking himself very generous, whether those he bestowed gifts upon were truly poor or not. His parents always look down on these tendencies of his, scolding him for being gullible, as well as flippant towards the way of things. He's quite proud to say he always ignores these tirades. ✧

Queen Harpy RainWing ~ ✧ ~ Forty-seven ~ ✧ ~ Female
✧ ~*~ ✧insert picture here ✧ agreeable, flexible ✧ absentminded, tough ✧ lazy, insensitive ✧
✧ Unlike the other six tribes, a RainWing Queen does not gain her throne through killing. Instead, when the current queen decides to retire, her most willing daughter or niece takes over the job. Queen Harpy was that daughter. Twelve years ago, her mother, Paradise, chose to abdicate her throne and retire, and Harpy decided she wanted to be queen herself. She had no challenges to achieve her crown; her sister has no interest in ruling, and her three nieces were either as disinterested as their mother, or unwilling to enter a battle of skill against their aunt. ✧ Queen Harpy's Dragonets: one son & three daughters (age ranges: 1-25) Bengal RainWing ~ ✧ ~ Twenty-five~ ✧ ~ Male ✧ Bengal isn't the most RainWing-looking RainWing. All muscle, he is as intimidating as he can be, and his regular choice of orange, yellow, and black scales don't help him look more friendly. His eyes are a soft grey in color, and fit deep into the sockets. Like all RainWings he has scales that change color, and fangs that shoot a deadly venom. However, his look is softened by his love for flowers, whether they be tucked into the folds of his wings or strung into a change along his neck. ✧
✧ brash, stubborn ✧ adventurous, ambitious ✧ brave, decisive ✧
✧ Like all RainWings, Bengal was born and grew up as just another member of the tribe. While he doesn't know who his direct parents are, he does know a few of his relatives, and he felt from a young age that the whole RainWing tribe was his family. He also knew that he'd do anything to protect them. He spent hours of his youth practicing shooting venom, swinging from branches, and learning how to fight. Now Bengal spends his days doing voluntary patrols around the rainforest, assessing possible dangers, and teaching younger dragons how to defend themselves. ✧ ✧ ~ ~ Ice KingdomQueen Tundra IceWing ~ ✧ ~ Twenty-eight ~ ✧ ~ Female

It was in her eighth year that her mother, Blizzard, challenged her grandmother, Queen Frostbite, for the throne. Blizzard won, but it was a long and bloody battle. Tundra took advantage of her mother's weakened state, challenged her, and took the throne for herself. She has ruled strongly and unchallenged for twenty years. Her two nieces are too afraid of her to challenge her, and her daughter is still too young to pose a threat. ✧ Queen Tundra's Dragonets: one son: Prince Shard; & one daughter: Princess Pasque Prince Shard IceWing ~ ✧ ~ Thirteen ~ ✧ ~ Male

✧ Princess Pasque is as dainty as the flower she is named after. Her scales seem to be brushed with soft lavender color, matching her petite frame and delicate poise. The only thing that appears out of line for the tiny IceWing is that the fringe of icicle like spikes around her neck seems to be twice as packed as the other dragons. She is always dressed up in a fanciful manner, where it be pelts or silk wrapped over her shoulders and around her wings, or delicate diamonds dangling from her neck. ✧ ✧ charismatic, cunning ✧ ambitious, proud ✧ aloof, ruthless ✧
✧ Having spent her entire life in the palace, Pasque is used to getting everything she wants. The youngest child of the queen, she was very much spoiled with luxury and leisure. She spent the early years of her life in the second circle, an embarrassment to her family but not something she particularly cared about. That is until she realized that the higher her ranking, the more support she'd be given if she challenged her mother to the throne. Around her fourth hatching day Pasque made it into the first circle, and after that she continued to rise in the ranks. She is suspected of sabotaging many dragons who where higher ranking than her- but there's no proof of this that hasn't been safely hidden away. Today Pasque sits in the top placing of rank, a spot that she'd die to protect. ✧ Glacier IceWing ~ ✧ ~ Eighteen ~ ✧ ~ male
✧ Glacier is built like the typical IceWing, although he is a bit taller, with a longer wingspan. The base coloration of his scales is a silver-white, over-layed with a deep blue, similar to that seen in glacier ice - hence his name. His spines and spikes are silver-blue in color, along with his hooked claws, and his eyes are similar in color to the glacial tone of his scales. ✧ ✧ trusting, jovial ✧ easy-going, aloof ✧ sensitive, short-tempered ✧
✧ Glacier's parents were dragons of the Third Circle; upon his seventh hatching day, as was customary, Glacier proved himself well and achieved a Second Circle ranking, and as a result moved into the IceWing's palace, where the other dragons of high-status lived. His parents lived there as well, but because Glacier's rank was higher than theirs, they gradually drifted apart. Glacier proved to be a spectacular warrior, having a natural aptitude for combat, and quickly rose through the ranks of the royal guard and army. Unlike many other IceWings, Glacier doesn't necessarily believe that his tribe is greater than others; he tends to treat all other dragons with respect, unless they've done something to uproot that. In the presence of other IceWings, it isn't unusual for Glacier to fall back on typical IceWing behavior, considering the rigid social structure and expectations that he was raised in. ✧

✧ Valor is a slender Nightwing, with a narrow head and muscles that cling tight to her frame. Her scales are a dark indigo in color, contrasted by the light lavender of her star-scattered wings. For as many battles as she's fought one would expect her to be coated in scars, but the only visible scaring can be found in a criss-crossing pattern where her wings meet her back. She has a small opal amulet that she wears around her neck as well and a simple steel armband that wraps around her from left arm. ✧ ✧ brave, hardworking ✧ stubborn, reserved ✧ insecure, suspicious ✧
✧ Valor was born in the Kingdom of Night just a day before a full moon, and from the moment she took her first steps into the world she felt as though she has disappointed her parents. Her mother Evenfall, and her father Dreamseer worked at the palace, her mother as a guard who used her mind-reading powers to assess possible threats, and her father working directly with the Queen because of his powers over prophecy. It had been expected that a child of two powerful dragons would hatch right on the night of the full moon as planned. Despite her parents trying their best, Valor could never relax around her parents- and her mother's mind-reading did nothing to help. So instead, Valor threw herself into becoming an elite fighter. She mastered the ability of outsmarting dragons who could read her mind, dragons who might be able to see her next move. By the time her sister Nocturnal was born Valor was already applying for a position among the queen's guard with dreams of one day becoming a feared general. ✧ Raised in Sanctuary, Roadrunner never knew his birth parents, or his siblings, if he even had any that is. Instead, he was raised by a kindly old SeaWing, Pelican, who adopted him before he had even hatched. Not wanting to be a burden on Pelican, Roadrunner quickly went about finding a way to earn a living for the both of them, settling on the trade of a merchant, as he quickly picked up the ins and outs of the job from the many merchants that lived in Sanctuary. After Pelican eventually passed from old age, Roadrunner took his shop on the road, traveling from kingdom to kingdom selling his wares, but always returning home to Sanctuary when he feels homesick. ✧ Bone SandWing ~ ✧ ~ Thirty-seven ~ ✧ ~ Male
✧ Bone is a large yet lean SandWing, with large yet weathered wings. His scales are a very pale yellow-white, appearing the same color as sun-bleached bones, his namesake. The ridge along his spine is a slightly darker yellow, though a washed out shade. Speckles of pale brown scales run up the back of his legs and along his tail, ending at the dark brown barb on his tail. The membranes of his wings are a slightly darker shade than the rest of his body, the edges of which are slightly worn and tattered from flying through many a sandstorm. He has dark amber eyes, with a scar running across the left one. Around Bone's neck is a rough rope holding a variety of bones, teeth, and claws, some dragon, the majority an assortment of different animals, which rattles whenever he moves. He is also known to wear a very tattered and dirty tan cloak, basically rags, which paired with the bone necklace gives him quite the ghastly appearance. ✧ ✧ confident, adventurous ✧ passionate, impatient ✧ cynical, proud ✧
✧ Bone was never much of a team player, and preferred being alone rather than be surrounded by his selfish, arrogant family, so he left. He wandered the desert alone for years from a young age, scavenging amongst long forgotten ruins, selling what treasures he could find. He had soon developed quite the reputation from those who saw his pale, ragged form and heard the rattling of the bones at his neck, seeing him as a ghost, or a dangerous mercenary. The stories didn't bother him as they kept other dragons at bay. He always enjoyed his solitude, that is, till he found a IceWing hatchling. Bone took the young Fractal under his wing, becoming her father, even though he had always enjoyed being by himself, he must have missed having a family more than he thought, seeing as he was so quick to adopt the abandoned IceWing. He moved to Possibility to raise Fractal, only leaving to scavenge ruins when they need funds, as he doesn't want to leave Fractal alone for too long.✧ Sunstalker NightWing-IceWing Hybrid ~ ✧ ~ Sixteen ~ ✧ ~ male ✧ Sunstalker's base coloration and build hails from his NightWing heritage; his scales are tinted a dark, nearly black, indigo-blue, and the underside of his wings are also dotted with white and silver scales, giving the appearance of the night sky. Like other NightWings, his tongue is black. His underside, however, is a silvery-blue, as are his claws and horns, hinting at the other half of his parentage - an IceWing. The scales along his forearms, biceps, and mask are a dark gray. His eyes are an indigo similar in shade to his scales, although a bit lighter. ✧
✧ brave, resilient ✧ charismatic, headstrong ✧ arrogant, dismissive ✧
✧ Despite the long period of dislike between NightWings and IceWings, a pair managed to fall in love, and Sunstalker was the result of that union. Like his NightWing father, he can be mysterious. Like his IceWing mother, he can be a bit haughty and arrogant, but deep down Sunstalker is a kind being who feels deeply, whether or not he displays anything beyond surface emotions. He's dedicated and brave, and willing to leap to the defense of his friends and family no matter the danger posed. The first few years of his life, Sunstalker lived with the NightWings and both his parents, but when his father died, his mother took him back to IceWing territory. He lived the next decade or so among the IceWings, and though he was well-liked due to his charismatic nature, he never really felt as though he fit in. Amongst the sea of silver and blue and white scales, Sunstalker's coloration stuck out like a sore thumb. When he was fifteen years, Sunstalker departed from IceWing territory and went exploring, visiting each tribe for a time. Eventually, he found himself in Sanctuary, and he has remained there, as a storyteller, ever since. ✧ Fractal IceWing ~ ✧ ~ Fifteen ~ ✧ ~ Female
✧ Fractal is a rather small IceWing, not as bulky as some of her tribe, but her lean lets agility reign where her strength falters. Her scales are a very pale periwinkle, nearly white in color but glinting purple and blue in certain light. The spines that run along her back and the horns on her head are a brilliant silver white that fade to sparkling translucency at the ends, taking on the appearance of sharp, glittering icicles. The membranes of her wings are less sparkling than her scales and are a slightly darker shade of periwinkle. Her eyes are a soft shade of lavender, the ridges framing them and running along the bridge of her nose a sparkling white. Fractal doesn't wear much in the form of jewelry, usually just a slightly cracked clear quartz pendant around her neck on a purple cotton string. To hide the stunning brilliance of her scales in the harsh desert sun, she wears a long simple grey cloak. ✧ ✧ calm, softhearted ✧ honest, indecisive ✧ nervous, insecure ✧
✧ Fractal was left as a hatchling on the borders of IceWing and SanWing territory, her parents having abandoned her for some unknown reason. She was adopted by the SandWing Bone and recognizes him as her father. She was raised by Bone on the edges of the town of Possibility in a small, makeshift home. Fractal doesn't much care to find her birth parents, but sometimes finds herself wondering who they were and why they left her so soon after her hatching. ✧ Wren SandWing-IceWing Hybrid ~ ✧ ~ Ten ~ ✧ ~ Female
✧ At first glance, it is easy to see that Wren is not a full SandWing. Most of her scales are a brighter yellow-gold than most SandWings, but the biggest tip-off is her silvery-grey and white underscales. These are indicators of her IceWing father. Her golden scales also glitter brighter than is normal for a SandWing, and while they do not radiate cold like an IceWing, her scales are not as warm as a SandWing's either. She also has bright green eyes with hints of blue, which act as one more reminder than she is a hybrid. She isn't as well-suited to extreme heat like the SandWings, nor is she comfortable with extreme cold. She is a true blend, though she tends to tip a little closer to her SandWing side more often than not. Wren is a rather small dragon for her age, and many have mistaken her for an older dragonet. But when she isn't thinking too hard about it, she possesses a natural poise and grace that belies her usual uncertain demeanor. ✧ ✧ courageous, genuine ✧ emotional, quiet ✧ naïve, insecure ✧
✧ history - Wren is the daughter of Frost the IceWing and Gila the SandWing. Wren never met her mother; Frost claims she died before Wren hatched, and he rarely talks about her. All Wren knows is they met in Possibility, but chose to settle in Sanctuary, where Wren was hatched and raised, and somewhere between their moving and her hatching, Gila died. Wren had a fairly normal childhood. Living in Sanctuary as a hybrid is easier than if she had been raised in the sand or ice kingdoms. She has friends, a good community around her, and she has spent time learning all she can about all the different tribes. The biggest challenges of growing up came from being a girl being raised by a single father. Frost is not always the most understanding or patient dragon, and there were days when Wren was young when she wondered if Frost even wanted a dragonet. All that changed when Frost discovered Wren is an animus. ✧ Polaris IceWing-SeaWing Hybrid ~ ✧ ~ Eight ~ ✧ ~ Female

okay so I'm working on coloring dragons and decided that's going to take A WHILE because a. color palettes and b. I am a perfectionist. So.... while I'm waiting on those to finish my forms, just figured I'd yeet an I'm interested here! Currently making a MudWing, SeaWing, and SandWing side character, and would love either the Rain or Ice prophecy dragonet if that's possible. Haven't decided which though, so if anyone wants one of those badly then I'll just take the other. looking forwards to this ^^/))

{ If they can both be the same, that would be cool. Yes, I was having the hybrid be the prophecy dragon, probably a Sea/Ice or Sea/Rain. I'm still kind of torn between Ice, Sea, and Rain. I'll probably read more about them before I decide. They will definitely be either the Sea or Ice prophecy dragon, but not sure what the other parent will be.
I've definitely been meaning to read them for a long time, just never gotten around to it. } Yep, that's fine. They will have to be mostly SeWing if they're an animus, though, with only a few hints to their Ice/Rain parentage.

Prophecy Dragon: Fen (MudWing) Other Dragons: Pyre (SkyWing), Drift (SeaWing), Bengal (RainWing)Pyre SkyWings ~ ✧ ~ 15 ~ ✧ ~ female
Prince Drift (brother of Queen) SeaWing ~ ✧ ~ 65 ~ ✧ ~ male
✧ Drift is a large Seawing with dark blue-green scales that look more like the ocean depths than the surface water. His eyes are a dark blue, almost black, and a long scar traces down from his forehead to the tip of his snout. His figure is very angular, and tight muscles hang to his lanky frame. He always has a piece of jewelry on him, whether it be a simple armband, or a strand of shells strung around his neck. Like a typical SeaWing he has webbed talons, and a set of lighter scales that he can make glow if needed. ✧
✧ intelligent, compassionate, ✧ obedient, determined ✧ spineless, arrogant ✧
Fen MudWing ~ ✧ ~ 10 ~ ✧ ~ non-binary
✧ Fen is a larger MudWing, their wings the biggest part of them.
Bengal RainWing ~ ✧ ~ 25 ~ ✧ ~ male
✧ Bengal isn't the most RainWing-looking RainWing. ✧
✧ brash, stubborn, ✧adventurous, ambitious ✧ brave, decisive ✧
✧ Like all RainWings, Bengal was born and grew up as just another member of the tribe. While he doesn't know who his direct parents are, he does know a few of his relatives, and he felt from a young age that the whole RainWing tribe was his family. He also knew that he'd do anything to protect them. He spent hours of his youth practicing shooting venom, swinging from branches, and learning how to fight. Now Bengal spends his days doing voluntary patrols around the rainforest, assessing possible dangers, and teaching younger dragons how to defend themselves. ✧

The New Prophecy Begins... ____________________________ Midnight ✧ The Lost City of Night ✧ The Queen's Palace Of all the reasons Starfire imagined he might one day be summoned to see the queen, this had certainly never been one of them. Then again, he hadn't imagined getting a summons very often at all. Queen Fearless was a fair and kind (usually) ruler, but even she was not completely okay with the NightWings who had RainWing blood. She was just better at hiding her dislike over the matter than most.
"How do you know that? You've never even met her." The question wasn't rude or skeptical; it was filled with genuine curiosity.
Starfire turned to his father and smiled. "Rumors, mostly. But I also just… have a feeling."
"Ah." Eclipse nodded knowingly. Starfire had "feelings" about many things, and they were very rarely wrong. "What are your feelings telling you about how this meeting will go?"
Starfire shook his head. "They don't work like that, Dad. You know that."
Eclipse sighed. "Yeah, I know. But one can hope. After all, last night just proves your powers are getting stronger, right?"
Starfire shifted uncomfortably. "Maybe." He certainly hoped not. Starfire was quite sure he would be happy to never, ever, ever have another vision again.
Especially one with a world-changing prophecy attached to it.
Starfire had spent most of his life completely ordinary — well. As ordinary as one can be when he is a NightWing who has a RainWing for a grandmother. He had no powers, or so he thought, and he was perfectly okay with that. Even when his powers did appear, they were weak enough to go mostly unnoticed. Starfire liked how his power manifested itself as gut feelings and waves of intuition instead of visions of the future. It was much simpler, for him and everyone else. The few visions he had received from his power always foretold bad things, but none of them had been terrible enough to warrant a prophecy — or a message to the queen.
Not until the day before, that is, when the strongest and most earth-shattering vision had hit and shook him to his core.
Seven to fall or seven to rise… A danger lurks, a danger creeps… One that can never be free… Seven will rise above the tide of blood… Seven to fall…
Starfire closed his eyes against the words, tried to block out the images that came with them. Images of seven shadowed figures; a looming dark force coated in malevolent evil; dragons fleeing, dragons screaming, dragons bleeding. The original vision had been bad enough. These little snatches he was left with were threatening to make his head split open and reduce his lungs to shriveled husks.
A wing brushing against his own had Starfire's eyes shooting open. He looked first to his father, who was studying him with concern. At a nod from Eclipse, Starfire turned his gaze to the grand doors before them to see one was open, and a dragon was standing there frowning at him.
"I said, the queen will see you know," the dragon intoned. Starfire thought he meant to sound grand and gracious, but he clearly didn't like repeating himself, so all Starfire really heard was irritation and dislike.
Ah well, he thought. What else is new?
Starfire followed Eclipse and the irritated dragon through the door and into the throne room. It was as large and grand as one would expect of a throne room, all glossy black onyx and gleaming white pearl. Gold and silver was threaded through it all, and glimmers of ruby red, sapphire blue, and emerald green could be seen everywhere — mostly on all the dragons already in the room.
Most of them were members of Queen Fearless's court; some were family members; and the ones lining the walls were guards. Starfire almost started looking through them to see if his mother was among them, but he stopped himself. Dusk was half-RainWing. It was very unlikely she would ever be chosen to guard the queen and her guests.
Speaking of… why were there so many extra dragons here? He got the impression that most of them thought his prophecy was a joke, a way to get attention and gain fame. Only a couple of them seemed to believe it, and of those few, most looked half hopeful, half terrified. Starfire couldn't blame them. On the one talon: a prophecy promised a way to end the suffering. But on the other talon, it meant the unknown danger threatening them all was real, was truly something more than a gang of dark-hearted dragons — which was the most common theory. Starfire knew many dragons, both in his tribe and others, who desperately wanted to believe the threat was ordinary dragons, mysterious and dangerous or not.
Starfire had never been one of those dragons, but he understood why many believed that rumor. It was easier, less scary. And it was something the tribes could find a solution for through traditional means. The seven queens were already conferring constantly across Pyrrhia, trying to puzzle out that solution. So far, they hadn't had any luck, and many believed that was because they could not figure out what this solution was meant to be used for. After all, one cannot give an answer until they know the whole question.
But now Starfire brought proof that the strange darkness causing havoc and mayhem was no group of dragons. Starfire still wasn't sure what it was, but he knew with absolute certainty that it was no dragon. It was something wholly different… and infinitely worse.
Queen Fearless finished whispering to the dragon on her left and beckoned Starfire closer. Eclipse stayed by the door, his wings spread halfway as if he was ready to bolt. Starfire wasn't sure if Eclipse just wanted to escape — he had never been very good with large, judgy crowds — or if he wanted to protect Starfire from whatever scorn and doubt he was about to receive from these dragons.
Even now, as he approached the queen, he could hear some dragons muttering. Comments about his mother, his sister, his power — or lack thereof. Starfire could not read minds like his father, but with these dragons he didn't need to. Their thoughts were written across their faces and through every rigid line of their bodies. They were not happy he was there.
Ignoring them all, Starfire stopped at the foot of the queen's dais and bowed. "Your Majesty," he said politely.
"Rise," the queen ordered. "What is your name?"
"Starfire, ma'am." Starfire stretched his wings, then snapped them back into place against his body before anyone could see the shifting colors of his underwings. They always acted up when he was too distracted to keep them still, and Starfire hadn't had a moment to settle them since the vision.
"Starfire," the queen repeated, eyes looking over him as if seeking the reason for his name — or perhaps she was looking for the perfect spot to strike should he annoy her. If she found it, she didn't let it show. "Alright, Starfire. I'm told you've had a vision, and that you have spoken a prophecy that relates to our… problem." An understatement, but no one really knew what else to call the unknown threat. "Is this true?"
Starfire dipped his head in a nod. "It is, Your Majesty."
Queen Fearless flicked her tail. "Repeat it for me," she said, her tone brokering no argument.
Starfire hesitated. He could feel all the eyes in the room on him, could sense their mistrust and displeasure and suspicion. Starfire was not a shy dragon, but this was exactly the kind of attention he disliked most.
But he couldn't refuse the queen, so with a flutter of his wings, he spoke the words he knew — had known, from the moment the first one left his mouth the day before — would change his life.
"Seven to fall or seven to rise. A call goes out to summon the light.
The time is near, the time is coming. Seven must face what fast approaches. A danger lurks, a danger creeps. Seven to fall beneath a power ferocious.
Hope comes on darkest night; Seven chosen to win the fight. One for fire and one for ice; One that costs a heavy price. One from the sands and one from the sea; One that can never be free. And one destined to bring defeat.
When everything is cold and the fighting is near, Seven will stand against the flood. When light is devoured and hope swallowed by fear, Seven will rise above the tide of blood.
Seven to fall or seven to rise. The call is answered, summon the night."
Silence fell. The room had been quiet before, with only a few low conversations and the tinkling of jewelry. But now there was none of that. Starfire couldn't even hear the rustling of wings. He wanted to look around, to see the expressions on everyone's face now, but he kept his eyes on the queen.
The silence ended abruptly as dragon suddenly turned to dragon and started shooting off questions.
"Who are the seven?"
"What is the danger? How can we fight something if we don't even know what it is?"
"Do we have to fight? It says the seven will face the threat."
"But who are the seven? Do we have to choose seven NightWings?"
"No, doofus. It wants all seven tribes. Didn't you hear the part about ice and fire and sand and sea?"
"I am not a doofus. You —"
"Enough."
Quiet fell once more at the queen's command. Not silence, but the dragons all stopped talking and turned to face their queen. She met each of their gazes for long moments before settling her fierce stare on Starfire. "The vision that accompanied this prophecy. What did it tell you?"
Starfire's tail swished nervously. "Not much, I'm afraid," he said, earning himself scoffs and eye rolls and growls from just about every dragon in the room. He refused to let their irritation bow him as he held the queen's gaze. "But I do know this is no idle threat. The clearest part of my vision was seven dragons. I didn't see any details, but I know they were each from a different tribe. And I know they are the key to defeating whatever this danger is."
"Does it matter which dragon is chosen from each tribe?" the queen asked.
That gave Starfire pause. He hadn't thought about it before. He had been too busy trying not to let a sense of dread consume him since receiving the prophecy. Did it matter which dragons were chosen?
As often happened with him, as soon as he asked himself the question some instinct led him to the right answer. "Yes," he said slowly, "and no. The vision didn't specify who would be chosen, but I don't think you can just point at any dragon from each tribe and say 'you're the chosen one.'"
She regarded him shrewdly for several minutes, and right when it was starting to make him uncomfortable she pointed one ebony claw at him. "You. You will be the chosen NightWing."
For a brief moment, there was silence again, just long enough for him to think Didn't I just say that's not how you're supposed to choose the prophecy dragons? Then the room exploded in angry shouts.
"Him?!"
"Your Majesty, really!"
"You can't be serious!"
"He's not even a real NightWing!"
"Yeah, have you seen his sister? What a disgrace."
That last one had a bolt of anger spark alive inside him. His tail lashed, but he refused to turn around and find the dragon who had said it. He didn't trust what he would do if he did.
Thankfully, the queen chose that moment to stand up and snap her wings open. That, accompanied by the dangerous look on her face, had everyone shutting up right quick. Fearless was not as violent as many NightWing queens past, but she was a fierce warrior and not to be underestimated — ever. She proved that the day she took her throne.
Queen Fearless remained standing, wings spread menacingly, for several minutes before slowly folding her wings and taking her seat again. She did not explain herself to the court, did not even acknowledge they had spoken out against her choice at all. She just returned her fierce gaze to Starfire.
"I want you to go to the other tribes, all of them, and help the queens decide the other members of the prophecy," she ordered calmly. "I feel your power of intuition will be needed — for some more than others — and once they are all chosen, you will lead them. You will guide them to victory."
Starfire was quite certain it would not be as easy as that — any of it — but he did not point that out. He didn't argue, either, though part of him wanted to. But his power, his instincts, whatever you wanted to call it, told him the queen was not entirely wrong. He would be needed to choose the right dragons for this task. He just wasn't sure he wanted to go on an incredibly dangerous mission to save the world.
Starfire said none of that. He just nodded his head and pinned his gaze on the marble floor between his talons. "Yes, Your Majesty. I will leave at first light."
"Good." She turned to the dragon standing to the right and slightly behind the throne. "Send out messengers," she ordered the young dragon. "One to each tribe. Tell the other queens about Starfire's vision, and include a copy of his prophecy. Tell them to expect Starfire, and inform them that while it is up to them how to choose a dragon to fulfill this prophecy, Starfire will be the one who makes the choice in the end. I want no delays. Go."
The dragon dipped in a quick bow and left with a quiet, "Yes, Your Majesty."
The queen turned back to Starfire. "Before you go I would like you to write down every detail about your vision and give it to me. I don't care how unhelpful or insignificant the detail — I want it all. Clear?"
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Queen Fearless nodded. "Good. Then you are dismissed. And stop by the mail room on your way out. I have a feeling they're going to need help with the wording of the prophecy."
Starfire said he would, bowed once more, and left, as quickly as he could without looking like he was running. As he left the throne room, his father on his tail, he heard the discussions and arguments start up behind him. It was quickly muffled by the door as it shut, but he heard enough to know those dragons would be in there a good long while.
There was a beat of silence between Starfire and Eclipse, the only sound their talons on the marble floors as they walked the halls to the mailroom. Then Eclipse let out a breath. "Well," he said with false cheerfulness. "That went… well."
Starfire huffed a quiet laugh, some of the tension leaving his body. "Not exactly the word I would have used," he said with a faint smile.
Eclipse nudged him with one wing. "You'll do fine," he said, speaking to Starfire's unspoken worries rather than what he actually said. That was something Eclipse did often, but it rarely annoyed Starfire. Talking over his worries with his father was always something that made him feel better, even when he was reluctant to bring them up himself.
Starfire scoffed. "With which part? Telling the queens of Pyrrhia that I will be the one choosing their prophecy dragon? The choosing itself? Or, wait, I know. I'll do fine as the leader of them all. Why? Because it's my prophecy? Or because I'm a NightWing?"
The derision lacing that last one had Eclipse putting one wing over Starfire's head and pulling it into his side, forcing Starfire to stop walking. "Alright, alright. Enough of that."
Starfire yanked his head free and gave himself a vigorous shake. The action had his wings flaring up, revealing the swirling red, orange, and green of his underwings. Starfire noticed Eclipse studying those colors and instantly snapped his wings shut again. "Stop reading my emotions," he said. Like full RainWings, each color represented a different emotion. Most non-RainWings didn't know which color went with which emotion, but Starfire and Eclipse did. They lived with two, after all, and though neither was a full RainWing, they both had color-changing scales. Eclipse was better at reading them than Starfire, and while Eclipse's mind reading never bothered him, for some reason the color reading did. And Eclipse knew it.
He sighed. "I know, I know. Sorry. Habit. Your mother's mind can be hard to read sometimes, so her emotions are all I have to go by." When Starfire just grunted, he continued. "But you needn't worry this time. Your emotions all line up with your thoughts so I really didn't learn anything new."
Somehow, that wasn't very reassuring. Starfire sighed. "Alright, so what's your advice? You know your great wisdom is the only reason I put up with your nosy powers, after all," he teased.
"Ha, ha." Eclipse went to whack him with his wing, but Starfire danced away, snickering. They started walking again as Eclipse answered, "My advice to you is the same it always is: just be yourself, Starfire, and follow your instincts. If you do, you will be fine — at all of it."
Starfire sighed again, but hearing that advice — even if it was for the gazillionth time — did make him feel better. "Thanks, Dad. You have once again astonished me with your endless wisdom."
That time, Eclipse succeeded in whacking his son on the back of the head. "Quit with the sarcasm, you brat. It is unbecoming. Why don't you ever follow that great wisdom? You might actually be able to find a girlfriend if you did."
Starfire made a face. "I've had girlfriends," he protested.
Eclipse widened his eyes. "Oh that's right! I meant you might actually be able to keep one for longer than a week."
Starfire rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Unfortunately for you and Mother, finding such a girl is gonna have to wait. I have queens to irritate, dragons to find and lead, and a prophecy to fulfill. Or did you miss that conversation with your old dragon ears?"
Eclipse stopped, swelling with mock outrage. "That does it!" he shouted, sending Starfire running ahead with a laugh. "You are grounded, young dragon! No great missions for you!"
Starfire just laughed again. But as he ducked into the mailroom and helped the messengers write out the prophecy, there was a part of him that wished there really weren't any great missions for him.~ ✧ ~ ✧ ~
____________________________ Dawn ✧ The Lost City of Night ✧ Home It was dawn. Starfire was supposed to be in the air in a couple minutes, but he didn't need the power of foresight to know he was going to be leaving late.
He rubbed his forehead and heaved a sigh. "I've already told you, Dancer. You can't come."
"But whyyyy?" Skydancer whined. Starfire refrained from telling her she sounded like a dragonet. "I don't need to be part of the prophecy or anything! I just want to see the other kingdoms. Meet the queens! It sounds like such an ADVENTURE!"
Starfire lowered his talons so he would have an uninhibited view of his sister as he gave her a bland stare. "Prophecy of Doom does not equal adventure, little sister. Try thinking more along the lines of danger and destruction."
Skydancer's eyes widened. "Have you actually seen that?" she asked, but while her voice was low, it was laced with more awe than fear.
Starfire sighed. "Not exactly. It was more… I don't know how to describe it." He had written down every detail of the vision for Queen Fearless, as he'd promised, but he still had trouble putting what he had seen into words. Probably because he hadn't seen much of anything. Most of the vision had been a rush of strong feelings. Desperation, fear, hope, rage, sorrow. There had been an overwhelming sense that if certain things didn't happen, the world of Pyrrhia as they knew it would be gone. And then there had been that ominous presence that had seemed to hover over the whole experience, quietly gloating and entirely too pleased at the effort a handful of dragons were going to make to stop it.
That had definitely been the most terrifying part of the whole experience, and even now Starfire felt like that evil presence was hovering over his head, just waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
His sister's voice brought his thoughts back to the present. "Well, if you haven't seen it, then there's no guarantee it will happen," she said confidently. At the disbelieving look on his face, she sighed and went on more seriously. "Come on, Starfire. You know this is something I've been dreaming about for forever. Just let me come. I'll keep you company while you travel between the tribes, maybe offer a bit of advice for picking the right dragons, and then once you're all gathered, I'll come home. Deal?"
Starfire held her hopeful gaze for a long minute. Then he sighed once more, his shoulders slumping with his defeat as Skydancer started hopping up and down excitedly, shouting "Yes, yes, YES!" over and over until Starfire put one talon over her mouth.
"Alright, you can come," he said. "But ONLY if you promise to STOP BOUNCING."
Skydancer immediately sat down, but her whole body continued to tremble with excitement and her eyes shone brighter than the fading stars.
Starfire eyed her suspiciously for a moment. "Go pack a bag. But don't bring too much!" he called after her as she dashed into the house. "We have a long flight ahead of us, and I will not be your pack mule!"
"Right!" she called back, with just a little too much amusement. They both knew he could only say 'no' to her for so long before giving in.
Starfire sighed — again — and sat down on the ledge to wait for her. A moment later, another dragon came out and sat beside him. Starfire looked over at her. "Is bringing her along the right thing to do?"
Dusk chuckled and draped one wing over his back. "Why are you asking me? You're the one with magic intuition."
Starfire rolled his eyes. "Right. How could I forget?" He paused. "Okay, then are you okay with her coming? This isn't exactly the safest first adventure."
His mother turned her bright blue eyes — the eyes they shared — on him. She was quiet for so long that Starfire had to resist the urge to survey her scales. Unlike pure RainWings, his mother's base color was black like a NightWing. But unlike pure NightWings, an aurora of colors could often be seen drifting across the dark background, just like the underside of Starfire's wings. He could see the swirling colors in his periphery, but he made himself hold his mother's gaze instead of taking a closer look. Dusk didn't mind having her scales read as much as he did, but he still did his best to give her that privacy anyway.
Finally, Dusk looked away and turned her gaze to the rising sun. "Yes and no. I want her to have this adventure, this chance to see the world and decide for herself where she belongs. The same goes for you too, actually." She sighed. "I just wish you weren't flying into danger in the process."
Starfire didn't respond immediately because, well, he wished that too. But while part of him would have liked to stay as far away from this prophecy as possible, the rest of him had come to the conclusion that this was what he had to do. It felt right, whenever he stopped worrying over the prophecy and what he had to do.
"I'll keep her safe." He met his mother's gaze again. "I promise."
Dusk smiled. "I know you will." She brushed her wing against his. "But don't forget about yourself in the process, okay?"
Starfire snorted and raised his voice a bit. "Right. Like that'll be possible with that one constantly on my case about everything."
"ExcUSE me," Skydancer said from the doorway. "What are you implying?"
Starfire turned around, blinking as if surprised to find her there. "I'm afraid I have no idea what you're talking about," he said innocently.
Skydancer narrowed her eyes at him while Dusk and Eclipse, standing in the doorway behind his daughter, laughed. "You're going to be a pain in my tail this whole journey, aren't you?"
Starfire winked. "You got it. What else are big brothers for? Certainly not giving their little sisters orders and expecting to be obeyed." He gave her a pointed look, which she ignored as she turned to throw her wings around Eclipse, and then Dusk.
"Goodbye! Goodbye!" she said, and Starfire couldn't tell if the teary-farewell-tone she was using was real or fake. "I love you! I'll miss you! I'll be back before you know it! But, like, not too soon. Got a whole kingdom to traverse you kno — ACK!"
Starfire laughed as Eclipse swept her up, lifting her right off her feet as if she was still a dragonet, and spun her around. Dusk stepped back out of the way, chuckling, and wrapped one wing around Starfire again. "Goodbye, my dear. Be careful, and smart, and brave. And remember that I believe in you."
Starfire smiled and leaned into her side. "Thank you, Mom. I will."
They stood like that until Skydancer finally succeeded in escaping Eclipse. Then mother wrapped daughter in a fierce hug of her own while father and son shared a less emotional but no less meaningful farewell. And then, finally, Skydancer bundled Starfire into the air and just like that they were off.
As they angled their wings toward Darkstalker's Teeth, Starfire could feel the eyes of both his parents on them, but he kept his gaze ahead and refused to let his wing beats falter. It wasn't like this was the first time he or Skydancer had left home. There was just something about this departure that felt unnervingly final. It made him hope, for once, that his powers were wrong.
"So where are we going first?" Skydancer broke the silence as they soared over the mountains behind Queen Fearless's palace. "The Kingdom of Sand is closest, but I don't know if I want to meet Queen Dawn first. I hear she's terrifying. The Rainforest is the next closest, but I don't fancy starting this adventure with a sleep dart to the neck. Not to mention Queen Harpy totally has it in for me. Oh! We should go to the Kingdom of the Sea! I am so ready to see the ocean."
"You see the ocean all the time," Starfire pointed out, which was just one of the comments that came to mind after her chatter.
Skydancer rolled her eyes. "Yeah, but it's not the same. The Sea Kingdom is said to be crazy beautiful. I wanna see it."
"You will see it," Starfire promised. "But it's not our first stop."
A sense of disappointment seemed to weigh her down… for about .2 seconds. Then she brightened again and nudged his wingtip with hers. "Alright, then where are we going, All-Knowing-One?"
Starfire took in the empty sky stretching before them and smiled grimly. "The Mud Kingdom," he answered. "Something's telling me that's where we need to start."

(sorry that they're all a lil young, skink is babie and he's throwing off my average)Rambutan RainWing ~ ✧ ~ 12 ~ ✧ ~ male
Rambutan's preferred color scheme is a collections of pinks, purples, and yellows, and he's very good at not letting his emotions show through in his scales- at least not obviously. He always wears a slight grin, as if he's just heard something amusing. ✧
✧ charismatic, confident, talkative, stubborn, manipulative, jealous. ✧
He has a pet sloth named Fuzzy.✧
Quagmire MudWing ~ ✧ ~ 35 ~ ✧ ~ female
✧ Quagmire only stands out by the fact that she is her siblings' Bigwings. Other than that, her subdued reddish-browns and dislike for extra ornaments make her blend into the crowd of MudWings. Her only other defining feature are the faint scars along her wings and talons, both old and more recent. ✧ ✧ selfless, maternal, compassionate, overbearing, suspicious, controlling. ✧
✧Skink SandWing ~ ✧ ~ 3 ~ ✧ ~ male
[image is of adult, there were no baby sandwing refs I could find. poor skink].✧
✧ jovial, always looks forwards, adventurous, mischievous, wears emotions on sleeve, lacks self-control.✧
✧ Princess Manta SeaWing ~ ✧ ~ 9 ~ ✧ ~ female
Her bio-luminescent scales are arranged in spiral patterns, with starbursts noting her royal blood underneath her wings. Manta also likes to deck herself in jewelry, usually wearing several pearl necklaces and armbands, as well as a pair of pale yellow apatite earrings she received from her father as a present. ✧
✧ strong, curious, rebellious, airheaded, judgmental, blunt.✧
✧ Manta lived a highly sheltered life, having spent her whole life in the Sea Kingdom. She highly regrets this fact, and often goes on secret adventures throughout the ocean without her parent's knowledge. These often turn into simple hunting trips or pearl searches, however, as once outside of the Palace, she quickly forgets her intentions to go explore other Kingdoms. Manta hates every dragon older than her, as she views them as part of the force keeping her trapped in this 'dreary, boring palace'. ✧

Okay, first off, question: HOW DO YOU COLOR THOSE SO PRETTILY?!?!?
Second, just to double-check, Rambutan is the prophecy dragon, yes?
Third, were you going to add more personality traits to Skink, or is that it? You don't have to, of course, you just left little underscores like you were thinking of adding more so I figured I'd check before adding him. ^^
And finally, fourth, they all look GREAT! Ages are fine; no worries there. I'll start adding everyone, and you can start role-playing whenever you're ready. ;D

I'll try and get a few starters up tonight at least! Can't wait to begin!))
