I know there are only two books released (and an excerpt from the third) at this point, but what's your opinion on the arc so far? I've included a poll.
If you want to, feel free to elaborate on your opinion in the thread.

I think it's amazing, though, I kind of wish they'd tone down on the love interest plots a little, or at least slow it down. Like, in the first book, Bristlefrost developed a crush, confessed her crush, got rejected, got angry at Spotfur, and then got over it, all in one book.
I guess that's understandable, since there's only six books, and it's better than it being carried out over two arcs or something.

I honestly feel like this arc is much better than the rest at this, honestly. At least so far. A lot of the focus is on the main antagonist.

That's true, I'm glad that there's more elements to it than just romance drama or what not, I haven't been bored yet...I hope there's more border disputes though, those are always fun to read

I kind of wish there was an option between "meh" and "amazing". like, I would say it's "pretty good" but I have a couple issues with it.
If we're talking plot-wise, it's unique and original. It's refreshing to have protags who aren't siblings or otherwise already acquainted at the start. I like that some of the background characters are getting fleshed out more, like Stemleaf and Spotfur. I still feel weird about the whole possession thing, though. I'm nervous about what the explanation will be, like how is possession just suddenly possible? Why has it never happened before? and I'm really not on-board for it being Ashfur. The thought of it just creeps me out, and I'm not looking forward to more Bramble/Squirrel/Ash drama.
Also, I just find a lot of the writing clunky and weird, but I guess that's been a problem for a couple years at this point. I just have a problem getting into the Gathering scenes, which is a bit of an issue when gathering scenes are rather pivotal for this arc. It throws me off when random characters shout random points of argument and then just shut up and don't talk again. I can't imagine a real conversation happening like that, and it's frustrating when Fake Bramble is backing another leader into a corner and everyone just lets it happen. He does this with Leafstar, Tigerstar, Mistystar, but they just.. let it happen. I keep waiting for someone to slap him across the face but they never do. Actually the one time I felt satisfaction during a Gathering scene is when Rootpaw yelled "shut up" but then he just took it back. like no... dont be a coward. tell him off!
also this is a nit-pick and totally not important but I'm not a fan of the titles lol. LS and TST are fine but how many times have we had a book with "shadows" in it's name? And #4, Darkness Within, is almost identical to AVOS 4, Darkest Night, and we all know nothing really happened in that book, so it's hard to get excited when you're worried that the same thing will happen and it'll just flop. guess we'll see. overall I'd give TBC 7.5/10.

So far, I love The Broken Code. It might be #1 alongside The New Prophecy. :3

I love this arc, definitely one of my favorites so far. I was very skeptical reading the first book and was expecting to hate it since I really did not like AVoS, and I’m very happy I was wrong! I think it’s great so far, I really enjoy all of the protagonists and the plot is really interesting.

I think it's on the positive side of average, but I wouldn't call it great. The first two books are pretty good, but... in my opinion the first two books of every arc are good.
The inconsistencies get to me, which is weird because in every other arc, they don't. I think it's because this arc completely relies on a never-before-seen thing that really should be a before-seen thing, or at the very least have a dang good explanation behind it, which, up to this point, it doesn't.
I'm also not a fan of rehashing old drama in the way that they're doing. For an Ashfur case, Lion and Jay seem weirdly uninvolved, whereas Squirrelflight's drama is being pushed front and center. It's just not balanced, I guess.
If every single book has the same enjoyability (for me) to it as the first two, then the arc will probably make it to number 3 or 4 on my favorite arc list.
I know, unpopular opinion, but oh well.
