The Lion's Blaze The year is 1987. We were trapped in a digital kingdom built from the rules of a terrible medieval fantasy arcade game called The Lion's Blaze. Our quest is to collect the eight stones of the Lion's Blaze. The only issue is if you die in the game, you die in real life. This game does have a few rules. In order to leave the game, you must first collect all eight stones. Once all eight stones are collected, one dead player may be brought back. Any act deemed cheating will force the game to even the odds.

Rules 1. Be excellent to each other: Be polite, follow forum rules, etc. 2. Unlimited power: Make sure your character(s) are not extremely over powered. That means no godmodding, mary/gary sues, etc. 3. The sword is mightier than the pen: You don't have to write an 1000 word essay, but please make sure your posts are a decent length. I'm gonna say a 4 sentence minimum. Also, make sure your grammar is mostly correct. I get an error here or there but nobody wants to feel like they're roleplaying with google translate. This also means no text slang obviously. 4. Gone fishing: Absences of over a week will result in your character being suspended from roleplay. A character suspension will last a week and will require the character owner to PM me and acknowledge that they know they are suspended during their week of suspension. Failing to do so will result in character removal. If you have some sort of circumstance that will result in a hiatus, let me know and we'll see if we can work it into the RP, like giving your character a reason to not be there. Inactivity kills roleplays so that's what I'm trying to avoid. The password is "Corth Firesandwich." 5. Executive order: As creator of the RP, I reserve the right to implement new rules as I see fit. This might involve me asking roleplayers to refrain from adding certain content. I doubt this will ever happen, but just to make sure there aren't any issues I wanted to add this in. 6. Redacted: Make sure to keep language and content to a pg-13 level. there are kids on this site (maybe? Can't say I've really seen too many.) 7. Jolly good show: Have fun!

Characters: Users:|| Johnathan (John) Schwartz || Elwrin Cerberus || 18 || Paladin || John is an average height, standing at 5'9" and weighing in at 200 pounds. His hair is a dark brown, which he keeps cut short, and his eyes are a crisp light blue. He has a muscular build and a dashing complexion. As far as equipment goes, he carries a shield and sword and is equipped with heavy armor, perfect for tanking for the party. || John is courageously foolish, inclined to charge into battle with little regard for himself. His failure to plan ahead gets him into all kinds of situations, usually for the worse. His lack of common sense isn't always negative, as his eagerness to throw caution to the wind can make him particularly persistent in combat. He is also protective of his friends, oftentimes putting himself in jeopardy so they don't have to. || John was a senior in high school When he was sucked into the game. He was a starting linebacker for the school football team and particularly skilled at Galaga. He faced multiple suspensions due to fighting, though he was never the instigator. || Fire the Watcher of the vale || Sammy Vermillion || Percival Winfred Regimald III || 25 || Wizard/Warlock || He has short, sandy blond hair cut to just above his ears. He's about 5'7 with long legs. He often stand hunches his shoulders and keeps his gaze a little low, hands behind his back. He likes to wear loss fitting cloths and shoes that fit loosely around his feet. He has light hazel eyes and long, slender fingers. He's about normal weight, maybe looking a little under weight in the wrong lighting, but that just because he lacks muscle. Has a slight trouble with doors and organization skills are not his strong suit. || Highly protective of the ones he cares about, but unwilling to risk himself or others if he can't see a clear way of protecting someone. For example, he might hesitate if he would get injured even if he did mange to rescue the person in danger. Besides that, he is civil to others and will try not to look bored out of his mind at every turn, even if he is. Likes to travel. || mintedstar/fur || Evelynn Johnson || Cinnamon 'Cinna' Vinette || 17 (about to turn 18) || Vixelle (a fox person); Nobility || She has very long wavy brown hair which stretches about down to her waist. She is underweight from her having anorexia and looks very skinny. Her character in game wears steel armored chestplates with the Vinette house crest on them. It's a Bright red fox. She has very long legs and comes in at a height of 5' 6" with her legs being about 2 1/2 feet long. She has a pair of Fox ears which are a lighter brown than her hair and the insides are white. Her eyes are a very bright amethyst color. || She tends to be very motherly and likes to look out for her friends. She pretty much is always the Mom of her friend group. If something bad happens, she's normally the first to be scolding both parties of people. She doesn't jump headfirst into fights and tends to be a more analytical thinker. || She has a fox's agility (All Vixelles do) || WildclanNPCs:
|| Molly Millers || 17 years || Apprentice Mage {If deemed fit, if not, then she's a villager} || Molly Millers is a very short Native Hawaiian girl with dull green eyes and bronzed skin. Her hair is long and a very dark brown, almost black, and is very wavy. Freckles dot her face and nose, and can usually be seen wearing anything white or gray and soft and leather sandals, along with a small necklace of frangipanis. Always wears a beaded bracelet on her right hand. || Very stubborn and hot-headed is a general summary of Molly, but she isn't all rebellious as she seems. She is very witty and speedy, both mentally and physically. She is an extrovert and is always found in public places throughout the game, and typically friendly. || Molly is said to have been born outside the kingdom, and kicked out at age 13. Somehow, desperate for something social, she meandered into the kingdom, and decided to stay. || Other || UnsightlyHeretic831 Enemies/Bosses:|| The Gamemaker || Ageless || Adaptive (essentially the ultimate boss) || The Gamemaker is a tall, imposing figure, roughly 6' 5" and is completely shrouded by a tattered red robe. His only discernible feature is glowing red eyes. || The Gamemaker is a twisted soul, reveling in the suffering of players. He often toys with them within the bounds of the game's rules and does not hesitate to punish cheaters, usually in the cruelest way possible. It is fabled that the Gamemaker holds the final stone of the Lion's Blaze, though none have survived an encounter with him to say otherwise. || The Gamemaker is the final boss, though he should appear periodically, not necessarily in physicality but through actions and decisions against the players. || Fire the Watcher of the vale

John let out a booming shout as he drove his blade into the last of the goblins. Though they were low level enemies, these weaker enemies were perfect for farming health potions. He dislodged his blade from the fresh corpse that laid in front of him and sheathed it. He looted the dead enemies, grabbing anything of value and leaving the rest. "Three health potions and twenty gold." He informed the party. There's also a level two dagger, but I doubt it'll sell for much."

"You could always start collecting daggers," Percival pointed out dryly. "It might be worth more of your time in the long run." He adjusted his clothing, pretending he didn't care. He didn't, not very much. There were bigger, more interesting things that they could have been doing. Goblins were boring. But he knew for the purpose of health potions and gold they were the best option. It was just tedieus. "Which way now?" he asked, not intending to take the lead. "More goblins?" Hopefully not. But never knew. They tended to travel in packs. Larger packs than this.
(Sorrrrrrrrrry for late reply! D: )

{I sit here and I realize that I have no idea where to jump in here, or post a starter.} Just pop in with John talking about loot.) ( Fire the Watcher of the vale UnsightlyHeretic831 mintedstar/fur Hey maybe you guys can come in and rescue Cinnamon from Legitimately dying to these goblins.) Cinnamon continued into the town and into one of the shops. She took out the hides and set them on the counter. The NPC in the shop said some computer generated speech, "Ahh Hello Your Majesty! What a pleasure to have you back in my shop again!" The NPC then took the hides and handed her a bag of gold. Cinnamon nodded and walked out the door. She placed the bag in her inventory and walked out the far side of the town. She was stopped by the two guards who informed her of the large amounts of goblins infesting the Vixelle's land. Cinna decided to take her chances and continue out farther. After a few moments she ran into a group of goblins.

{Sure! I don't really know what to do here so here's my best shot.} Molly had been watching from a distance at Cinnamon, seemingly curious of her behavior. She popped up next to Cinnamon, turning to the goblins. "Ah, is this your first time fighting these? Maybe you didn't listen to the guards..." She trailed off thoughtfully, then crossed her arms. "Don't worry, these guys won't bother you for longer, maybe you should listen next time..." She took her wand and pointed it to one of the goblins, and sent out a spell. SIMPLE SLAP SPELL! 50 damage. The goblin let out a screech and fell. "It's simple. If you've never dealt with goblins before, shoot any attack at that goblin there. I don't have much experience as you do in melee, but I'm sure I could learn a thing or two by your moves here." A golden light flashed on one of the goblins to the left of the gang.

Molly clapped as the last goblin withered away. "Wonderful job, that was quick and clean. See, it wasn't that hard! Don't forget this, player..!" Molly dug in a bag she had slung around her shoulder and pull out 30 gold coins. "Here, have these. They might help you in the future. Maybe think twice about coming here again. Well, on second thought, you're a natural!"

"These daggers are way too heavy for their worth. If I started collecting these, I'd be crawling back to town." He looked round, trying to figure out where they were. "There should be a bear cave a little ways north of here. A bit higher level, but it shouldn't be a problem. One more level and I get a defense buff ability, so I'd like to get that before we take on any bosses." He pulled out his map and located the cave. "Yep. about a mile north. Sometimes a notorious monster spawns in there, so we could get some new weapons or something, too."

"If I get killed, it's your fault," said Percival with a sigh. But he nodded his head. "Alright. Bear cave. Let's get going." He shouldered the bag he was carrying and started walking in that direction, back stiff. He did have some respect for his traveling partner, but equally had no patience. He did cast a look back, which was a bit of a give away, that he might care what was happening. "And other than those daggers, you got enough health potions if a notorious monster does spawn?" he checked. Just to be sure.
