Welcome to the Ever Changing Story! What is This? -This is a forum game that's a mixture of a Choose-your-own-adventure story, an RP and an open community activity -You can say this is sort of like D&D (or pen & paper roleplay) but with no die rolls/restrictions, anybody can participate, has polls and is written as a story
How does this work? -I (the thread creator) will write a few paragraphs of a story every day or so -With each new post from me will be a poll at the top of this thread with multiple options for how the story should continue -When I write my next new post continuing the story, the most voted option from the poll will affect the story in that way (If option A is most voted, option A will happen in the story) -Anybody can vote on the poles -If I like any ideas or suggestions that I find in the Discussion Thread, I'm willing to have those affect the story as well
Rules -Please be Civil -Follow Forum Rules -Please no trying to add onto the story by yourself (any posts like this will be ignored)
What's the point of this? -This is a community activity -I know i'm the person who's writing this story, but this story is not mine, it's the communities; I'm only here to make the story coherent and understandable (My roll will be like a GM) -I will not make any big choices or decisions, all major plot points (and even minor) will be in the control of all of you -Anybody can vote on the polls; the point of this is to allow anybody and everybody to join in and participate in a story/adventure that's made for everyone

News and Updates-(02/05/2020) The first post for the story is up! I was first planning to use polls but I kinda forgot that I can only have one poll for this whole thread. If i'm able to delete the first poll after it's done and re-use it for the next poll, then everything will be fine. If I can't remove the first poll when it's done though, then I'll think of a different method.
-(02/06/2020) Seems like I can get rid of the old pole and replace it, that was a relief.
-(02/07/2020) Fiddled around with the placements of some of the posts to make everything seem a bit more organized. Played around with the font sizes and added a new heading to the story posts (to make them stand out better).
Created the "Ever Changing Stories Discussion Thread" to separate the Discussions, Comments, Suggestions and Ideas from the the main Poll Story thread. The thread can be found here.

If there are any tied votes when the polls close, I will use all of the tied options and fuse them together, like what I did this time.
-(02/10/2020) I'm going to take a small short break of about a couple days or so, this is so all of you can recommend name ideas in the discussion thread. The reason behind this is that I want all of you to decide on the main characters name instead of me making up a list and letting you all vote on that. I can't wait to see what names y'all come up with ^w^

Summary of Story so Far
Introduction to the seven major categorizations of all worlds and realities. Focus of one of the Fantasy based worlds and the six different races that inhabit it. Of the six races, the race of the Elves are explored in more detail. The forest of the Elves is explored in a bit more detail, including the different kinds of professions that are found in the Elven village of Alornne. Our main character is the child of a grain farmer and a crafter of wooden furniture. They are female and we explore their life growing up in a bit more detail. |

Story: Part 1
There are millions of different worlds and realities on the plane of existence. Each one is special in their own right, each following different rules and laws. Some worlds have laws set in stone while others are more fluid that is ever-changing. The number of different kinds of worlds is vast and infinite, but each one can be sorted and categorized under similar qualities.
We first have some worlds that possess special energy that go by different names, but the energy in these worlds allows the residences to harness the laws of nature and warp the rules of their world to their own devices. These worlds can be categorized under the term of Fantasy.
There are also worlds that possess special creatures, creatures that they themselves defy the laws of their world, spreading chaos wherever they go. These worlds fall under the category of Horror.
There are some realities that have focused themselves on understanding the laws of their world and creating unsurmountable technology that uses the understanding of their laws to their own benefits. These are realities under the term of Sci-Fi.
On the opposite spectrum, some realities are caught up in political battles, causing a huge delay in the research of technologies and massive wars for power. These realities are known as Medieval.
Sadly though, some worlds have fallen prey to disaster, causing all of its laws to break and cause unsurmountable chaos. These worlds categorize under Post-Apocalyptic.
Some worlds and realities though cause their inhabitants to gain special abilities and powers with some using them for greed and others using them for the sake of others. These are known to inhabit Heros and Villians.
Finally, some worlds are balanced and fair, with nothing that stands out except for their inhabitants living their lives and interacting with others. These are known as Modern.
Each of these groups has one world that inhabits the values of their classification strongly. Now, which world should we pry into further?

Story: Part 2
(Option Chosen: Fantasy)
The worlds categorized under the term of Fantasy are vastly different from each other, but each one holds one similarity, a special energy that flows through it. Each of these Fantasy worlds unique energy is tied to their world and if something can tap into this energy, that thing is able to use the energy as a fuel to alter the world around them.
There are vast amounts of worlds categorized under Fantasy, but today we’ll explore one of them that inhabits the term Fantasy to a perfect degree. This world calls their special energy as magic and every single thing is connected to this energy to the minutest of details. Spanning this world are vast magical creatures and intelligent life, with multitudes of different races seeking fame, fortune and adventure. Dragons, Secret underground treasures, mighty magical arts, Vast lands and floating isles; this world inhabits all and more.
Throughout this world are various different races that are each special in their own right. First we have the Humans who are adaptable individuals that are found worldwide, next are the Dwarves who are powerful crafters that claim the mountains their home, the Elves who have a special connection to magic who are found in mighty forests, the Goblins who inhabit the vast dark underground trenches who are sneaky greedy inventors, the war-hungry Orcs with powerful military might that are found in the volcanic wastes, and finally the Kobolds who are lizardfolk who live in the deep vast swamps and are in-tune to the plants and wilderness of the world.
So, mighty viewers, which race shall we focus on in more detail?

Story: Part 3
(Option Chosen: Elves)
Of the six sentient races that inhabit this world, the Elves are a tall pale-skinned race with long pointy ears being their most identifiable characteristic. All of the races in this world are born with a connection to the world’s magical energy, but the race of the Elves has a special organ that condenses this energy into it, giving the Elves a far more sensitive connection to magic than the other races. This special organ also has a unique side effect to the Elves, causing their body to decay much slower than normal, elongating their life span. This increased life span comes at a cost though, since the Elves’ fertility is somehow decreased from the organ, giving the race the lowest production rate among all the sentient races.
With the Elves special magical organ, they became more fluent and sensitive to magic, which allowed them to increase their understanding of it faster than the other races. As the Elves dedicated themselves to further increase their understanding of magic and magical energy throughout history, magic slowly became an essential aspect of their culture. The two side effects of the special organ though have also caused major impacts on their culture as well. The longevity effect caused the elves to live way longer lives and over time the Elves started to see the importance of the long-lived, making their culture favour the experiences of the old, with their rulers being the oldest among them. The decrease in fertility though has caused the Elves to further favour the long-lived and made the act of childbearing the most sacred occasion in their culture, causing the Elves to become extremely overprotective of their young.
Now, this story will follow the life of one of these Elves, but where does this individual live? Should they live in the vast elven Capital which is extravagantly built by magic in a deep forest, one of the many Villages through the trees who live quaint quiet lives among nature, or are they living a Solitary life trying to find answers?

Story: Part 4
(Option Chosen: Village)
Throughout a vast deep-dark forest, the Elves can be found. Small dotted elven villages are scattered throughout, with the Elves greatly valuing the privacy the forest provides. These forests are dark and dim, but vast amounts of flora, fauna and insects have evolved to use the world’s magical energy to create faint, colourful and natural lights. These lights are used as communication, warnings and lures; the end product is a dark mysterious forest with vast amounts of lights of different colours scattered throughout, emanating from nature. Don’t be fooled though, since these lights can easily distract wanderers, and the floating moving lights of the insects can even more easily dissociate anyone’s sense of direction, creating the deep maze-like forests the Elves call home.
This forest is the perfect home for the Elves, with a vast capital at the centre and villages of varying sizes throughout. Located deep in the elven forest is the village of Alornne, which is a quaint village of a fair size where Elves of many professions can be found. Farms that grow faint glowing fruits, vegetables and grains of varying bright colours are found on the edge of the village. These produce grown by farmers using magic are native to the forest and are the main diet of the elves, alongside some meat from animals that were hunted down. The hunters of the village use the magical arts to bring necessary protein to the rest of villagers, while the guards scout out and protect the surroundings to keep everyone safe. The magical crafters of the village of various crafting arts help supply the village and the merchants and shop owners help to bring in trade, circulating commerce throughout. These different jobs help to keep everything functioning and alive, creating a quaint quiet village in the depths of the elven forest.
We will look in more depth at one of the villages inhabitants, but out of these five different kinds of jobs, which one should this individual have?

Story: Part 5
(Option Chosen: Farmer and Crafter)
In the village of Alornne, the residents do lots of different jobs to make a living, but not everybody has only one passion that they turn into a job; someone like our main character. They were born in the village of Alornne and grew up on a farm that’s one of the closest to the village. Their father took care of the fields growing grain while their mother had a small shop that specializes in wooden furniture. The main character loved watching their father take care of the plants in the field, watching them prosper with his magic; but watching their mother cut, shape and polish wood with her magic was as equally mesmerizing. As they slowly grew up, they helped in the field with their father, but they also helped their mother in the workshop, falling in love with both.
The grain in the farm is grown through magic that revitalizes the nutrients in the soil, magic that pulls the water in the air to the ground, and various others that strengthen and quickens the plants’ growth rate. In the workshop, magic that slices through wood, cuts off chunks, fuses pieces together and magic that sands down rough edges and polishes surfaces are used. To Elves, magic comes at ease with their bodies being able to use significant amounts of magical energy; this though is thanks to the unique organ they have that gathers magical energy and purifies it. Thanks to their special magic organ, they are able to use magic in their day to day lives and work with ease; the other races though are not able to do this. Without the magic organ of the Elves, the other races have to pull magical energy from the world themselves, transferring it through their bodies and then using it to perform magical arts. The extra step of themselves collecting the energy and the act of using their bodies as a conduit puts huge amounts of strain onto them physically and mentally, making the act of using magic incredibly difficult on the other races while the Elves can use it with a flick of their wrists.
Our main character lives in the Elven village of Alornne and helps out their mother and farther in the field and workshop. Our story is finally able to kick-off, but there is one more thing we need to know. Are they Female, or Male?

Story: Part 6
(Option Chosen: Female)
Wood and dirt, the aroma that permeates their home, and what created her. Our main character was born and currently lives in the quiet elven village of Alornne, growing up with the aroma of grain and the fragrance of wood. Her father is a lean and wild man with a passion for plants, and he always brings her out to his fields and engulfs her in the knowledge of his crops. He engages her with his stories, but most of all, the tantalizing fragrance of the fresh plants and dirt she breathes in, a scent that will never be forgotten. Her mother is tall and chiselled, with a rough but smooth look and a fierce determination set in her eyes. She always looks up to her mother, inspired by the aura she exudes. Her mother can always be found in her workshop, creating wooden furniture that an employee at her store will sell for her. The sight of her mother effortlessly shaping logs of wood into something that people will use every day always sparkles in her eyes, but that soft fragrance of wood that she always finds lingering in the workshop sparkles even more.
She has lived her entire life in this village and has never set a foot out of it; the thing though is that this fact doesn’t bother her, she actually doesn’t care about it at all. She is quite young in elven years but is old enough to stand out on her own. Despite this though, she still stays in the village and lives with her parents. She helps out around the house, doing odd jobs and chores, but the thing she enjoys the most is helping her parents with their jobs. She loves being out in the fields in the morning and helping her father taking care of the plants with magical spells, but also doing the odd manual labour here and there. In the evening she helps her mother in the workshop and loves doing small odd jobs, working on small furniture pieces and being an extra hand on the bigger ones. She loves her life with her parents at the house, so much so that you could say she’s almost like a hermit there. She doesn’t really go out into the village for casual or social reasons, only doing so when there’s a need. She does have some acquaintances that are friends of her mother and father but none of her own age. This is because she doesn’t go out of her way to socialize with others of her age; but the fact is that she just doesn’t really care, like at all. To her, she doesn’t need friends, since the aroma of wood and fresh growing plants is all the friends she needs.
We have successfully established the foundation of our story, world and character, but we can’t begin just yet since one of the biggest things of our character is missing; a Name.
- I will go on a short break from this story for about two days. During this time, please post ideas for names that'll best fit our character in this threads discussion thread (that is here). If more than one name suggestion is posted, than I’ll post a poll after a few days and the most voted will be picked (If it’s a tie, all tied name ideas will somehow be combined).
