Introduction
The year is 2553. The Human-Covenant War may have finally ended but Humanity's safety is far from secure and may be perhaps even more tenuous than ever. The threats from outside have only grown more numerous after the collapse of The Covenant. With their political leadership completely collapsed numerous warlords have risen to lay claim to the vast empire. But humanity also faces a renewed threat from within from a reborn Insurrection. It has grown even larger and more fierce as Outer Colony after Outer Colony was sacrificed to buy more time. Already numerous worlds have declared independence and mobilized both fleets and armies with some even entering into coalitions. All the while ancient threats are beginning to stir from their long slumber.
Setting
General background-
This RP takes place only months after the ending of Halo 3 though with some key differences. In this timeline Humanity was even more devastated by the war losing far more worlds - especially Inner Colonies. This has led to the delay of the Spartan-IV program and GEN2 MJOLNIR by at least a decade. The UNSC had to shift focus to producing MK VI for the recently deployed Spartan III Gamma Company as well as modify their augmentations to allow them to perform just as well as the Spartan IIs. The UNSC Infinity completed construction ahead of time however allowing it to act as a deterrent towards the nascent Insurrectionist Coalition from taking action towards the UEG and the worlds that remain loyal. Humanity is also much more committed towards its alliance with the Sangheili due to its much weaker position.
The Fireteam-
This six man fireteam operates directly under ONI and is tasked with completing objectives that even the most talented Spartans could not accomplish. To help accomplish their difficult tasks they have been outfitted with prototype MJOLNIR Mk VII suits. The squad itself is comprised of surving Alpha Company and Beta Company Spartan IIIs as well as some Class II Spartan IIs(Their canonicity is rather dubious but I thought it would be fun to include them). They also use experimental "micro" A.I. that have the capabilities of a "dumb" A.I. but can be housed even in common datapads. They operate out of an experimental Bifrost-class prowler that is built with reverse engineered Forerunner and Covenant technology and also is a home to a "Smart" A.I. and a Huragok.
