[ Yooooo finally finished these, sorry for the wait. Under spoilers to avoid clogging up the thread. ]
Kaelin Aris - Independent - Miraluka - Assassin
Kaelin Aris // 24 // Miraluka // Female // Independent (Republic-inclined) // Assassin // Yes, not necessarily a force-user though. (Limited sensing and precognition only)
Physical Description - Kaelin is a tall woman with pale skin who passes for human on first inspection, hiding the vestigial eye sockets characteristic of her kind with a simple black veil which shadows her upper face from view. She is lithe and moves with unnatural, alien grace similar to many other force-sensitives- she reminds many of a dancer at first in the way she moves, slightly springing from step to step. Those with a practiced eye, however, note the measured precision and power coiled in each stride- the mark of a fighter rather than an entertainer. She’s mildly attractive but not overtly so- better to blend in, anyway. Her hair is a dark warm black color and comes to about chin-length. The poor edgy girl has a predisposition for more elegant and gothic type wear, often concealing her identity further with hoods, cloaks, and gloves.
Equipment - Kaelin uses a wide variety of close-range weapons due to her limited perception. She is proficient in many forms of martial arts including Teräs Käsi and Stava, and includes many of those basic stances and techniques into her own acrobatic style, relying on her force sensitivity to dodge incoming attacks and close in on targets. Her weapon of choice is the vibro-knife, and she's known to carry many types at once, with braces of weighted throwing knives, curved hacking knives, and wide-guard parrying knives as well as more classical double-edged knives. In addition to knives Kaelin has a small arsenal of other gadgets and weapons to even the odds- bolas, EMP and Flash grenades, smoke-bombs, simple trip-mines, and a small dart-gun designed to fire poison-tipped darts. For situations where it is utterly impossible to use any other weapon, she does have one tiny holdout blaster hidden in her boot. Kaelin wears a form-fitting light armor set consisting of a vest, greaves, and thigh-plates but often wears civilian clothing over the top to conceal them. Her force abilities, limited as they are, also count as some kind of equipment as well I suppose. She has limited sensing capabilities and precognition of just a second or two into the future- traits shared by the rest of her species as a biological way to make up for the loss of eyesight. Her sensing is limited to a short range around her, beyond which is kind of like a dense fog- she can see shapes moving and the general ebb-and-flow of the force but has difficulty picking out details. Within her range- which varies with the amount of effort she puts into focusing her senses- she can feel objects and creatures as clearly as if she could see them, even through other objects, much like a Jedi or Sith can sense what is happening. Also similarly to Jedi and Sith she has limited precognition of just a few milliseconds to a second or two ahead, which usually manifests as a kind of unease or certainty regarding the imminent future. She uses these senses in concert with each other to read the force and quickly react to threats just slightly before they happen, which manifests to onlookers as unnaturally fast reflexes. Much like a Jedi or Sith, however, these senses are not infallible and being able to see a laser bolt coming doesn’t always mean it can be dodged in time. Her force sense is also largely limited to physical objects unlike a full-fledged force-user. She can only rarely sense emotion, intent, or thoughts like a Jedi can, and when she is able to it is only because said emotions or intentions are so powerful that they are actually affecting the flow of the force around them.
Brief Personality - Kaelin is… detached, for lack of a better word. She shows little emotion except to people she trusts- and those she can count on one hand with several fingers missing. Most of the time her emotions can only be read through her body language; her face is typically unwaveringly neutral aside from the barest hints of a smile or a glare here and there. She speaks little, and only when necessary, often preferring either to gesture or say nothing at all. The miraluka has a deep hatred for Imperials, mostly directed towards higher-ups and Sith practitioners rather than foot soldiers. She approaches combat with them with a vigor and ferocity unseen in her battles with other factions, detached almost-boredom replaced with cold fury. Her fighting style is like a dance, graceful and acrobatic, utilizing her basic connection to the force as a method of predicting the flow of battle and tracing around it not unlike a Jedi- however the remorseless and brutal precision of her strikes and evident inner ferocity quickly dispel that notion.
History (optional) - Kaelin keeps her past close to her chest. Much of what is known about her comes from public records- both Imperial and New Republic. Her first crime was at the age of 6- "Aiding and Abetting Members of Forbidden Religion (Jedi Mysticism)", a crime shared by every member of her race. It is estimated that fewer than a thousand Miraluka survived after their homeworld was razed during the Jedi Purge for using force abilities and harboring two or three errant Jedi survivors. Her next recorded crime is ten years later- "Murder, First Degree, of an Imperial Officer". Her second- “Inciting Violence Against the Emperor”', “Aggravated Assault, Three Counts, of Imperial Peacekeepers”... the pattern continues. While she works independently and does dabble in local bounty hunting affairs, it’s ultimately a secondary job to fund her crusade of death against high-value Imperial targets. Kaelin’s primary targets appear to have been Purge Troopers, Imperial Officers, and even a Sith Apprentice once or twice. Even back during the Civil War it was not an uncommon occurence for a Rebel cell to actively plan an assassination, only for a mysterious agent to finish the job for them weeks in advance in brutally efficient fashion. Ms. Aris has an icy relationship with the New Republic, who often find her disregard for politics and unconventional methods to be too unpredictable, though there is some mutual respect between them and Kaelin maintains a handful of friends in various levels of the New Republic Army.

Cinla Detta - Mandalore/New Republic - Mandalorian - Advisor/Ground Asset
Cinla Detta // 35 // Mandalorian (Human) // Female // Mandalore first, then New Republic // Military Advisor and Ground-Force Attaché //
Physical Description - Cinla is a Mandalorian, and has thus never been seen by anyone other than her closest clanmates without her armor. Her armor is a matte grey with tan and brown accents, with the only major modification to its structure being a tattered half-kama- falling longer on the right side than the left- made of polished sky-blue scales harvested from a greater krayt dragon slain in her youth. A matching blue stripe goes down her left arm and outlines the Clan Detta signet on her pauldron (a blooming Kashyyykian Syren flower), and a thin sky blue line outlines the T-shaped visor on her helmet as well. The armor is made of traditional beskar iron, the set itself forged two hundred years ago and passed down to Cinla once she came of age. Her chestplate, legs, and pauldrons are all largely unmodified except for an additional dark-colored plasteel plate strapped over the left side of her chest to serve as extra heart protection as well as to use the strap beneath as a bandolier for magazines. This supplementary plate has the iconic Rebel starbird emblazoned on it in orange, which is the only visual link to the New Republic on her armor. She’s a sturdily-built woman, with somewhat broad shoulders and a height of 5’11”, and cuts an imposing silhouette in her armor.
Equipment - Cinla wears largely unmodified beskar'gam, traditional Mandalorian armor. Her primary weapon of choice is a customized DLT-20A blaster rifle with a secondary offset thermal scope, a custom grip and stock, and an underbarrel ion launcher. She also carries a DH-17 blaster pistol which she uses as a sidearm or whenever she needs a hand free. Her armor’s vambraces are fairly typical for Mandalorians, with her left arm containing a whipcord thrower, retractable wrist-blade, flamethrower, and small buckler-style shield emitter. Her right arm contains a retractable wrist-blade, 2 micro-rockets, a pair of low-power blaster barrels which can be set to stun, and a repulsor. She also has a Z-6 jetpack affixed to the backplate of her armor with a grappling unit rather than a missile at the tip. However, Cinla uses it only sparingly, admitting to some discomfort in the air and usually preferring to remain in the thick of it with her allies.
Brief Personality - Cinla is a loud, boisterous, and proud woman. She finds great joy in most things in life and relishes the thrill of battle. As a younger woman she was rash and impulsive, and while those tendencies have been chipped away by experience she retains a stubborn streak. Despite her simple mannerisms and jovial attitude, Cinla possesses a cunning and tactically sound mind and a dearth of experience drawn both from her cultural memory as Mando'ade and her personal exploits throughout the Great Purge and the Galactic Civil War. She isn't afraid to fight dirty and does everything in her power to ensure her enemies are permanently and utterly defeated even if it might be considered ruthless or cruel. A fair fight is one where both parties do everything in their power to win. Anything less is a farce and a disgrace.
History - Cinla was raised among Clan Detta alongside eight other foundlings of various origins, all orphans of the Clone Wars. They trained and grew together as siblings, and eventually became a renowned hunting band that would seek the most dangerous creatures across the galaxy and kill them, sometimes for sport and sometimes for payment, and always with great respect- for Clan Detta has always been known for their skilled and honorable hunters. However, when Bo-Katan Kryze declared herself Mand’alor, united the clans, and led them to war against the Imperial Occupation, Cinla’s band traded their hunting rifles for blaster cannons and returned to Mandalore. Their hunting band lost several members during that conflict even as Mandalore lost the war, and Cinla and her surviving five siblings escaped the Great Purge that followed. Two of the survivors gave up afterwards, splitting off from the group to make a living for themselves on their own. The remaining four sisters, Cinla included, swore vengeance on the Imperials and vowed to resist however they could. The four Mandalorians traveled from system to system on their own for nearly two years, acting as their own micro-rebellion by harassing Imperial activities, providing training to indigeonous rabble-rousers, and fighting back wherever possible before retreating again and moving on. Eventually, rumours of these so-called “Angels of Mandalore” reached the Rebel Alliance, who were finally able to track down the sisters after earning much more manpower and public support following the Battle of Yavin. The sisters were recruited on the spot, though with some hesitation, and would prove to be a major asset to the Rebellion throughout the remainder of the Galactic Civil War as the Rebellion’s personal team of Mandalorian super-commandos under the callsign of Valkyrie Squadron. After the war’s end, the squadron was disbanded as the sisters went their separate ways. Cinla and one other opted to remain with the New Republic as semi-independent advisors, while the other pair returned to Mandalore to seek out other surviving Mandalorians. Cinla continues to enter ground combat of her own volition relatively frequently, often tagging along during shocktrooper or special forces deployments and assisting where she can.

Corrin Brand - Imperial Remnant - Human - Special Forces Slicer/Radioman
Corrin Brand // 39 // Human (Tarisian) // Male // Imperial Remnants // Imperial Special Forces Slicer/Radioman //
Physical Description - Corrin Brand is a fairly normal-looking man with rounded features but a sharp jawline and cheekbones. He’s darker-skinned, with a shaved head and a sharp, cleanly-shaved goatee which exposes his naturally dark hair color. His eyes are dark brown, nearly black, and marked with the beginnings of crow’s feet. Corrin’s usual facial expression is a lazy smile, which exposes the dimples in his cheeks. He’s 6’0” even, with an average, slightly lean build. He usually wears a beanie under his helmet, though he tends to stay fully-armored at all times whenever he’s anywhere near a combat zone.
Equipment - Chief Warrant Officer Brand wears bog-standard special forces armor, with two minor additions. One is the hardened radiocommunications package bolted on to the back plate of the armor, coupled with a singular headset-like ear cup which attaches to the side of his helmet with a cord running to the backpack, allowing him to have boosted range and decryption possibilities compared to standard helmet radios. The other addition is a plain black single-strap bag (like a laptop bag) containing a tablet-sized datapad with only basic programs on it (namely a handful of text editors and some common slicing programs but none officially used by the Empire or containing any sensitive data), a manual scomp-link that plugs into the tablet, a small plasma torch, and a hand towel. As for weapons, Brand carries a TL-50 heavy repeater (one of the two standard options for SF, with the other being the more mainstream E-11) and a custom SE-14r with no scope and bronzed plating, a trophy from a particular job he undertook back in his Intelligence days.
Brief Personality - Many Special Forces teams are apprehensive at first when they hear an ex-spook is the newest member of their team, picturing some awkward know-it-all with no business behind a blaster or otherwise a callous agent-type, manipulative and cunning. Corrin is none of those things. On the contrary, he’s very much a simple and straightforward guy, not one to mince words or act polite unless the situation demands his subtlety. He’s kind to most people and acts laid-back and relaxed most of the time. With that said, his background in Intelligence is still clear from the way he thinks, even if he tries to mask it with the way he acts. He’s much more a planner than an improviser, but he’s very quick at reading situations and is almost constantly analyzing and interpreting out of habit even though he isn’t an analyst anymore. Corrin is strictly a logical thinker and while he recognizes and respects the New Republic’s efforts, his personal opinion is that the Empire has the best chance of working out in the long term to ensure galactic peace. He tries to act as a mentor for the newer troops, with varying levels of success.
History - Corrin Brand is an old-timer as far as wars go. While the Clone Wars were fought nearly entirely by proxies in the form of Clone Troopers, there was a still massive logistical and intelligence effort behind them, and Corrin managed to land a job as a cryptographer for Republic Intelligence about a year into the conflict. Using that as his ticket off his homeworld of Taris, Corrin served with distinction throughout the conflict. Moving on to fieldwork relatively early and participating in some of the most dangerous operations of the war, he made a name for himself as a reliable and skilled field analyst, slicer, and cryptographer. As the war progressed he earned additional certifications in psychoanalysis, radio-communications, and basic marksmanship. After the war his team- like many others- was directed to monitor and track Jedi movements and communications so they could be hunted down. Corrin often spent time on the ground with Purge Troopers and the Inquisitorious as a liaison to Imperial Intelligence and as a communications asset. Once the purge began to settle down, Corrin's team of Jedi-trackers was disbanded and he was given the choice to continue either as an Intelligence officer and go back to desk work or to begin anew with Special Forces, where he was guaranteed acceptance by his superiors after finishing basic and special operations training. He chose the latter, not wanting to give up fieldwork, and proved an invaluable asset to the teams he was placed in. Chief Warrant Officer Brand continues to use his slicing and analysis skills during combat operations in addition to his more mundane roles as a competent special forces trooper and radioman, rotating through squads often depending on where command decides they need him.
