Do you see him as short-haired, medium-haired or long-haired? Solid or tabby?
I personally visualize him as a medium-haired tabby, but more reddish-brown instead of like hightlighter orange lol.

I see him as short hair, and a ticked tabby, but not Abyssinian ticked. Like this, but without the white

I've always seen him as short-haired and solid orange(basically the way he looks on the original cover of Into the Wild).

How he looks on the Into The Wild cover is how I've always imagined him.

Yeah I saw him as how he is depicted on the first book, Into The Wild.
Funny enough, I dont see Greystripe how he looks on the front of ItW, if that is him.

I like to imagine he looked like my late cat Even before he passed when I was younger and reading the books I could totally see him as firestar, constantly trying to sneak out (but always coming back)

Sorta-medium-haired tabby, either ticked tabby or otherwise. And in regards to the "canon solid ginger" thing him being ticked is the only way for that to make sense for me, since I'm very stingy about ginger cats and how they work in terms of pelt pattern and ticked is the "closest" to "solid" ginger. You can't even see his back in the original ITW cover to use that as an example of him being solid in canon as a whole to begin with (Which is why that book being used as an example bothers me so much, you can't see his back, how do you deduct him to be fully solid on that?) and in FoS and RS's original covers he's shown with the barest hint of mackerel tabby stripes by the same artist. They're very very bare but there if you look really close enough. (And its visibility seems to be based on lighting and shading as far as I can tell, as in FoS stripes run along his back that clearly aren't shading and you can see stripes on his forelegs in RS's cover. Lighting/shading can make some patterns disappear if they're bare enough, speaking as someone who's seen tabby patterns disappear under lighting in my own arts)

I picture him as a solid orange short furred cat. I know it's unrealistic, but it's all I've ever pictured him as.
