What the title says basically. There seems to be distaste for the wiki in general, not just on the forums. Why is that? I dont really use the wiki other than to get visuals or see who's related and whatnot, but it seems like a lot of time and effort went into it. The one thing that irks me is cats who should obviously be listed as dead (like cats from the DOTC era) aren't. Even if they aren't confirmed Starclan (let's be real though, 98% of the background characters haven't done anything DF worthy) or whatever they should at least be acknowledged as deceased. That's just a very minor thing though.

I don't personally use it because I don't like using any non-book material (this includes BlogClan, facebook/twitter of the authors, anything not in a book).
Most other people have a distaste for it because back in the day it had a tendency to be wrong about things, placing author's statements over book canon, generally not friendly to people... this is all stuff I've heard, not seen, so you can take it with a grain of salt, but those are usually the complaints I see.
There was also the Great Eye Color Debate of I think 2018? Sort of a joke, but another reason some people hold the wiki in less than stellar regard.

what Skypaw13 said, and also the terrible designs they had for the cats back in the day

There were so many arguments on the wiki chat...and the cold unfriendliness too.

It can still be unreliable in some aspects even now too. For instance in Honeyfern and Berrynose's relationship thing, on Berrynose's side they put the fanon rumor that she was pregnant with his kits when she died, an early 2000s rumor that was DEBUNKED. She was never pregnant ever, yet they have that there because ??? Berrynose said they could've had wonderful kits? He was speaking of the FUTURE! Since they weren't even together for long to begin with and had just gotten official only shortly before she died! That one line does not automatically mean she's pregnant! The main editor at the time literally debunked it, and on Honeyfern's TALK PAGE they LITERALLY SAID IT'S A FANON RUMOR yet they write the rumor as fact???
What's worse to add to that? You cannot edit it out, at all.
They wrote a FANON RUMOR as canon even though it's been stated multiple times it's not, it's like if they had put that aggravating rumor of Leafpool being pressured by Sandstorm to be a medicine cat, which obviously never happened and has more against it than not, but it'd be like if they put something like that there. I can't trust the Wikia anymore after seeing that to not put non-canon rumors as fact.

The information is fine, I just kind of get this cold negative vibe sometimes. Although I chat with a couple of the admin sometimes, it just always seems exclusive I guess.

the only page on warriors wiki i really use is the events timeline. i stopped using the character pages after Rock's design scarred me for life
another minor annoyance with the wiki that hasn't been brought up yet is that (last time i checked it anyways) they have ravenpaw and barley listed as "partners" instead of mates. lmao

They include a lot of things with debatable sources, such as stating the opinions of the various authors as fact when one author's opinion is not reflective of the other authors, editors, Harper Collins, etc. Not to mention when they included things said by Su Susann. Many of the pages also do not have a personality/relationship section, instead opting to have really long synopsis of everything they have done in the books. The art that takes every small detail from the book into account is also a point on contention.

I personally don't have a problem with it, but it's usually 90% accurate, not perfect. I think they've become more strict after the Spottedleaf Heart / Missing Kits incident tbh.

I agree that it was a lot worse before, but after the great debate of the colour of Dovewing's eyes in I think 2018 (or 2019, I cannot remember rn), the wiki got a lot better and started improving. It was a good thing too, considering how during the whole debate the person in charge of the Warriors Wiki Twitter was blocking people left and right just because they corrected them that Dovewing's eyes were now canonically green, not blue. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the person in charge of the wiki lost their position on the wiki itself as well as the handling of the twitter (again, I could be wrong; the details are pretty fuzzy now). Currently Dovewing's page is prevented from editing for almost all users because of the whole colour of her eyes debate since people kept changing it to blue. Honestly, I'm surprised how dedicated these people were to keep her eye colour as blue.
Nowadays they really aren't that bad, it's just that unlike most other communities on Fandom, they focus solely on editing and use talk pages still (which aren't that good imo, message walls are more functional). I'm just wondering how they'll deal with the whole Fandom transition in April, since they'll be forcing the new features onto every single wiki.

honestly I just find it extremely annoying that they still don't have Graystripe's kit name listed as Graykit.. I mean why would he get a name-changing ceremony? what, do they think his original name was Fluffykit? I don't understand why they don't just put it on there that his name was Graykit, and if one of the authors say that it wasn't, then they change it but ah well.
