i had 2 classes today.
the 1st class' professor: "truthfully: i don't give a shit about ur feelings. i'm here to teach you, and the goal is to be better than me. if not, i give you the grade you deserve. i can count the amount of A's i've given on one hand."
the 2nd class' professor: "hey, you guys wanna see the level i made in beat saber?"
pursuing game design as a major is great tbh

Ngl your 1st professor sounds bad at teaching. i'll have to get back to u on that! i picked his class bc he got a lot of good rec's from the upperclassmen. he just seems blunt and honest abt everything, probs from all the industry experience

ime the first type aren't necessarily bad teachers. sometimes they can be difficult but in a helpfully challenging way, if that makes sense. i've had a few who don't really give out A's and are upfront about it not because they take pride in depriving students who would otherwise deserve it, but because they're against grade inflation or the subject nature of the class is legitimately just hard to master to an A level

Fair enough. I am speaking as someone who never graduated but ive heard from lots of people its a red flag if teachers that brag about their class being hard and dont give out as are usually just bad at actually teaching the material.
