here's some of my headcanons for leaders who we didn't get to see the leadership ceremony for:
Sunstar:
Moonflower - Choosing battles wisely
Doestar (in place of Pinestar) - Pride in Clan life and the Warrior Code
Cloudberry - Trust in his medicine cats
Thunderstar - Honor
Larksong (his mother) - Mother's love (I feel from the little we saw of her as a mother that she would've been very doting)
Heronwing - Endurance (for surviving the Great Hunger)
Nettlebreeze - Foresight (due to his involuntary role in Mapleshade's revenge by telling her about Frecklewish)
Harepounce - Hope (due to his early death during the Great Hunger - since Sunstar was a kit during this time I feel like it would've had a lot of impact on him)
No ninth life, because of Pinestar keeping it.
Rowanstar:
Flametail (his son) - Forgiveness (because of the whole Jayfeather fiasco)
Blackstar - Strength
Boulder - Certainty (for his lack of regret for joining ShadowClan)
Cedarheart (his brother) - Trust in ShadowClan and his clanmates
Russetfur - Duty (since she kept being deputy even though everyone thought she was ancient lol)
Talonpaw (his apprentice) - Justice (for avenging him)
Runningnose - Selflessness (referring to Cinderpelt's willingness to help him despite all the obstacles)
Ashfur - Heeding elders (as one of the elder's outcasted during Brokenstar's leadership)
Nightstar - Confidence
Here are some headcanons I have for current deputies, so some of the cats who give them lives may be alive at the moment but I think they'll be dead by the time these cats become deputies lol
Reedwhisker (I actually think he'll die or retire before he can become leader. Mistystar is eternal. She's been here from the beginning and will be here until the series ends):
Mistystar (his mother) - Endurance
Stonefur - Fighting injustice (I like the idea of Stonefur looking out for Mistystar's only surviving kit)
Mothwing - Respecting other beliefs
Blackclaw (his father) - Loyalty to RiverClan
Graystripe - Helping others despite clan boundaries (due to his part in rescuing Reedwhisker from drowning)
Primrosepaw - Courage (representative of all his siblings, but she is the only other member of the litter to survive to apprenticeship so I think they'd have a better bond)
Leopardstar - Pride in RiverClan
Petalfur - Compassion
Rippletail (his apprentice) - Adventure
Hawkwing (since Leafstar's lives were from cats who died cat-eons ago, I wanted Hawkwing's to mostly be cats he knew)
Pebbleshine (his mate) - Love
Sharpclaw (his father) - Clear judgement
Leafstar - Hope
Echosong - Faith in StarClan
Billystorm - Loyalty
Duskpaw (his brother) - Acceptance (due to Hawkwing's inability to accept grief for much of Hawkwing's Journey)
Stormheart - Determination (due to her warning her Clan despite how horrifying suddenly being attacked must've been)
The last two are characters I like but disappear between books and I want resolution! I think they could be swapped with other cats, however, like Rileypool or Fallowfern.
Shrewtooth - Bravery (due to his growing bravery during SkyClan's Destiny, I hope he went out with a bang!)
Egg - Patience (due to him having to learn about clan life during SkyClan's Destiny and his willingness to stay true to himself. I think he would've gotten along with Tree lol)
Anyways, those are the cats I thought of. I'd love to see ideas anyone else has for other leaders or what they might change with the lives I headcanon
