One of my biggest gripes with the recent warrior books is how homogenous all the Clans are. The original arc talks so heavily about how the Clans are unique, to the point where Cloudkit's bullying centres around the fact he doesn't have ThunderClan-typical further. Whilst I'm happy that the cats have such unique looks, here are my suggestions as to how to make the Clans stand out more from each other.
A lot of this is information taken from the field guides and extrapolated, but it's what I wish we would see in the books.
ThunderClan
Appearance: Big paws, medium fur (cats with long hair learn to sleek it down to avoid getting caught in brambles), more likely to have neck fluff
Diet: Squirrels, mice, voles, the usual fare
Clan lifestyle: The best architects due to the availability of different materials in their territory. Bold to the point of obnoxious, and very practical. Due to the amount of "heroes" in their Clan, apprentices tend to get Warrior names by acts of bravery, and only the "lackluster" get them through assessment.
Pre-Code Succession: Already had a deputy succession system in place.
RiverClan
Appearance: Webbed paws and long, lavish coats. Smaller ears to keep the water out.

Diet: Almost uniquely fish, with some amphibians. Their large builds make it harder for them to hunt land prey, and they're quite bad at tree climbing.
Clan lifestyle: Their camp is partially submerged to keep intruders at bay, with the floating nests mentioned in BP. They are the most vain Clan due to their relatively easy life, and wear accessories in their fur and line their nests with decorations. They are also very generous, as they rarely fear prey shortages.
Pre-Code Succession: Leaders were chosen via a democratic vote by senior warriors (As River Ripple hated hierarchy). As a result, modern Riverclan does not respect authority all that much.
SkyClan:
Appearance: Very sturdy but nimble, with long tails for balance (Perhaps Finleap was worried his short tail would increase the risk of falls). Hard paws and claws.
Diet: Almost uniquely birds, but the occasional squirrel as well. They think "land prey" tastes too muddy.
Clan lifestyle: Their camp is situated in the trees, with safety nests under the roots during storms/illness. They tend to travel through the canopy which unnerves the other Clans. Modern SkyClan is the most open to trying out new roles outside of "Warrior", and Leafstar would still open up her Clan to daylight warriors if they came.

Pre-Code Succession: Due to Skystar's pragmatic nature, successors were chosen "heirs", and over time generally became the kit of the leader.
ShadowClan:
Appearance: Huge eyes and big ears, more stocky than SkyClan or ThunderClan. Shorter and bent tails.
Diet: Reptiles and amphibians are a delicacy, but they also catch similar prey to ThunderClan. As the Clan with the least prey-rich territory, anything goes.
Clan lifestyle: Used to being ruled by an iron fist, they seek strong leadership more than other cats. Acclimated to their quiet territory, they get really annoyed by the louder SkyClan and ThunderClan cats. Family is very important. Cats tend to all sleep together due to how cold their territory can get. They spend most of their time hunting, and as such see any other possible duties as a waste of time (Which is why medicine cats get treated so poorly)

Pre-Code Succession: Deputy succeeded the leader, however deputies were much more regularly swapped around, which led to a lot of power plays and instability in the Clan.
WindClan:
Appearance: Scrawny, thin, extremely long legged and tailed. Big eyes and small paws.
Diet: Mainly rabbits but underground fare as well
Clan lifestyle: BRING TUNNELLING BACK. The most religious, and tend to sleep outside whenever possible. Know that their small stature is a weakness in battle, and thus use more tricks to tire out and confuse their opponent.

Pre-Code Succession: A monarchy started by Windstar. I headcannon that Duststar (The leader after Gorsestar) is Dust Muzzle (although they dont look the same).
