So I came to visit my Grandparents and one of their dogs suddenly got very clingy. This is pretty unusual because usually he's content to just be on his own. He's also started whining for attention and shaking alot and even seems to be losing strength in his back legs. It all started this morning so we think he's gotten sick. Do you think it's something we could wait out or should we take him to the vet? He's a senior dog if it helps.

That definitely seems like hes trying to tell you something, id take him to the vet just to be safe.
He could also just want some tlc. Especially in the cold.

One of my cats had terrible arthritis, and in the winter her back legs ceased to work until basically spring. She also had deformed hips, so that may have played a part. When my cats have each come to the ends of their lives, they all got super clingy in the last few weeks. I would definitely take him to the vet ASAP, because it sounds like he is in pain. Definitely keep giving him love though.

I thought I posted this a few days ago but guess it didn't go through. He ended up better the next morning. It turned out he was just a bit backed up. We found some... evidence lol

I'm glad to hear that! One of my cats is currently a little backed up right now too.
