What if death brought clarity to him, he realized what a cruel, obsessive jerkwad he'd been and fully repented of his ways and the spirits recognized that? We never see what he's like after he dies. Just food for thought.

He apparently apologized according to Hollyleaf, but it remains to be seen if this is actually true or not since he's likely the one possessing Bramblestar.

That would be interesting. I always felt that Ashfur was underdeveloped? It would be nice to give him some character. His โrelationshipโ with Squirrelflight literally lasted two days and then he threatened to kill her foster children. Maybe if their โrelationshipโ lasted longer and was more developed then it would give him more of a reason to be angry?

He didn't apologize to Squirrelflight in SqH or Jayfeather at all in OOTS so I doubt it. We also didn't see him fight in TLB, which means he was helping RiverClan (instead of the Clan that contained his sister, mentor, and basically everyone he ever loved, implying he still was refusing to go near Squirrelflight) or he was sitting out the battle altogether, since we saw the battle in ThunderClan, WindClan and ShadowClan. If the editors genuinely wanted us to think he came to his senses after his death, they missed a tonne of opportunities to show it.
