I'm not sure if I'll make the 50k word count goal for my first Nano, but I've done well so far. 22,044 is my current word count, and on Wednesday I start a full time job, which will likely begin to make this much more challenging for me. It's been a lot of fun seeing myself grow as a writer. Just a few months ago, 1,600ish words per day would be impossible, but I've had some days where I was able to push up to 3k words!
I haven't actually made a Nano account as my joining was kind of very last minute planning, so it's more so a fun personal project I've been doing on my down time.

I treat it more as a personal project as well. Just knowing that NaNo is going on gives me more motivation to try and write more than I would normally have time for.

Oh nice! I feel like I've seen this thread before, but I only now just noticed it ehe
I've been writing this fic I've been working on since 2017, its pretty special to me so I've been consistently working on it almost exclusively through nanos. I'm on my fourth and by lord is this year a drag, a little worried I wont get that satisfying purple bar on my project on the site
The story's mostly finished now, I'm currently writing things I forgot and rewriting some stuff this year. I'm at 23k currently and the 'to-do' pile for this isn't looking much smaller

I love finding a project that just means so much to you! It's awesome to hear! Is it a warriors fic or another fandom? (:
Good luck with it, though! Pretty cool that it's mostly finished! Is your target goal the 50,000? Or are you aiming for 25,000 or something? I've never actually done a NaNo. It's always just been me choosing my own goals or using NaNo as writing motivation, so I don't know 100% how it works, haha.
I did get to write yesterday, and I'm planning to write more today! (: I'll have to post another check in with how many words I've got!

Heya! My goal for this is the traditional 50k, but in all honesty any amount is good for me as long as that 'to-do' list is finally gone
And its actually a Vocaloid fic! I haven't really been active in that fandom in a few years so ig it'll be fun getting myself reacquainted with the fanbase again
I wish you luck on your writing! I'm not sure if they work for anyone else, but word sprints really helped for my first two years, maybe you could try those as a sort of preparation, some day? The beginning is always difficult to get used to.
Also, nano's really simple! You just make a goal (usually 50k) and just write toward it, whether you want to write an actual novel longer or shorter than that goal is entirely up to you!

Haha, I kind of feel the same. Like, I didn't really give myself a word goal other than just writing. But, I'd really like to get close to 40-50k XD I think I've heard of the word Vocaloid? But I actually have no idea what it is, whoops. Welcome back to warriors, then!  Thank you! I actually have done many word sprints and word wars on here before! They are quite fun! It's just hard to find all of us being on at the same time if you want to compete with someone else, haha. But, yes, they are definitely fun! I think the first year I really focused on NaNo (for fun, unofficially) I met that 50,000 goal. But, I haven't really been able to do it since just b/c life. I do have a question, though. If you do NaNo for real, do you actually post it on a NaNo site or something? |

Before I really knew what NaNo was, I remember it was a popular thing with the group of people I hung out with. And they'd even get involved with one of the teachers & kind of use that month to help towards their goals. I remember one of my friends getting a copy of her book? Looking back, I wish I had known more about NaNo and all that. I was still new to writing back then, though. But it sounds like it was awesome.

Good luck! I was only able to manage to get around 37k before I had a massive brain fart. I think I've done enough this year that I won't have to do another nano. Fun as it is, I miss having normal novembers lmao

I only did my 14k that I had originally posted. But, considering I only wrote 3 times(?) in the total of November, I consider that to be a good number XD
I do wish I had been able to write more (not necessarily for NaNo but just for myself) but time wasn't having it ): I've just been so busy & any spare time that I have is me trying not to fall asleep.

Yeah ): I wish so badly that I could write more. Usually I like to write on my day off. But I've been so busy on my day off ): Hopefully before the New Year I can do more! I do know, however, that I would like to do what I did last year & stay up until midnight writing into the New Year... only, I'm pretty sure I have to wake up 3 AM New Years Day, so I'm not sure how wise that will be o.O |
