Given that my favorite arc is TNP, I did enjoy her character there. But since then...I always thought of her as a bit bland. Maybe the authors tried to fit her in with ShadowClan so much so that she blended in a little too well. My memories are always terrible with the books, but I remember her not caring when the apprentices were acting rebellious before they joined Darktail's Kin. (At times, I am hesitant to let this affect my judgement of her at times since it was probably a plot device to show how out of order ShadowClan was getting for Darktail to take over.) I dislike how she supported Rowanstar when he stepped down as leader and how she was okay with living in SkyClan. I'm still trying to get my thoughts around Tawnypelt's Clan.
I'm sure this topic has been discussed many times before, but what are your thoughts on Tawnypelt?

I honestly never really cared for her, just like all of Tigerclaw's kits, if she were to disappear from the story, it wouldn't affect me any. It kinda sucks that her only part in The New Prophecy, was to get bit by a rat, but I think that was only so they could show off the never spoken about again mind bond between Squirrelpaw and Leafpaw, so Leafpaw could tell Squirrelpaw to use Burdock root.

Squrrielflight’s and Leafpool’s powers are so nonexistent, they could have at least used it as a plot point for SqH!

I haven't read Squirrelflight's Hope yet, but I heard it was super anger inducing, and that probably would have made it less so

Hope you enjoy it when you get there!

I love tawnypelt but she had so much wasted potential. She should’ve had a POV in TNP, it would’ve helped her character and made it more interesting generally. She had so much going for her - left her clan for a murderous father who dies, leaving her with basically nothing in SC, but she still remains loyal. I would’ve liked to see more of her relationship with Tigerstar(claw) too.

I definitely liked Tawnypelt's character in the earlier books, but that was mainly because Tigerstar was one of my favorite characters in the earlier books, and her decision to join her father in ShadowClan definitely did have me turning the page to find out what would happen next. However, in AVoS, she wasn't the cat she had been, and I wound up being more irritated with her than I should have been. She could have stopped the cats who were trying to rebel against ShadowClan, but she didn't. She was bland towards the end, and even in Lost Stars, she's been mentioned once, and even then she was a pushy character.

@cappichinokitty You’re right, they should’ve gave her a few chapters. The editors/authors really should give chapters to cats “in the moment” or when it feels right for a book, rather than giving main characters useless chapters...*cough* Lionblaze *cough*
