What if Ashfur isn't a villain in this? What if he is possessing Bramblestar, but along with another cat, and what if he's actually trying to stop that other cat from doing any harm or something? What if this is the authors' way of justifying putting Assfur in StarClan, by making him a hero or something?

I can't see him doing that. Also, it just seems so him right now. He's going SO out of his way to hurt Squirrelflight, who seems to be generally liked by most everyone
Unless you're giant man baby incel Ashfur.

Personal theory: it's obviously Ashfur, but I headcanon that someone's manipulating him. Maybe they told him he could have his revenge on the family of his murderer or maybe that he could have his revenge on Squirrelflight at last. Either way, I can't see HIM doing all these changes. Come on. If it were Ashfur at the wheel of this ride he'd just dump some kind of blame on Squirrelflight and her family and leave the clans be. Obviously he wouldn't let Bramble back into his body, but still. Whoever's behind this is most likely in StarClan, if I'm honest. Someone who has had their problems with the code and how it affects the clans. Maybe it isn't even a single cat. Maybe it's a large portion of StarClan who want to be worshipped more. One way or another, Ashfur's not the main villain - he's a minion.

It doesn't seem like Ashfur, I mean, Ashfur is a really bad guy yes, but he doesn't seem downright villainous to push the elders aside, and what not. Then again, he didn't seem like he'd try to burn a family, so who knows?
Watch it be someone completely off the wall, like one of Breezepelt's siblings.

the fire scene was completely by chance and tbh Ashfur would have burned the three anyway if he were really evil and/or villainous. He's just a coward and a sociopath. My theory is that it's the DF trainees who died and went to StarClan. That would give us an opening into insight about why they went to train in the DF.

What if Harestar is secretly on their side and he knows all of this? Tigerheartstar too (doubtful, but you never know) they were also DF trainees.

Not Harestar - I sincerely hope he's that one good, competent leader in WindClan. Besides, he sided with the clans - same with Tigerheartstar(who I verily dislike, but I guess he's leader). I was thinking... Redwillow, Applefur, and maybe Hollowflight?

Imagine if it was a cat from each clan? Applefur, Hollowflight, I don't know if there was anyone in WindClan, except Antpelt who got killed twice, and I don't think anyone died in ThunderClan.
I also hope Harestar stays good until his inevitable end

if Ashfur can get into StarClan with the 'he loved too much' argument so can Redwillow with the 'he was just misguided' argument. I think Furzepelt could be a candidate. And Sunstrike.

Oh yeah! I forgot about them, I remember Furzepelt, but I don't remember Sunstrike AT ALL.
