I'm presently under the influence of good memories and have been keeping an eye on this. I'm perpetually erratic with my activity, always have been, but I'm versatile. Assuming your plans are heavily plot-focused (especially to start), I can fill temporary roles and transition between them as they're needed. It's a sort of thing that was always frowned upon in the old days (I distinctly remember arguments about loyalty and how-dare-you-join-multiple-clan fights in 2009 and 2010), but I'm a bit leery about taking a more permanent role so soon after rediscovering this community.
I could also dig up eight-year-old ideas as an extra Clan if that seems more productive.

Well, we're off to a pretty good start already. We've got Clan concepts and a tentative plot (just need approval from 𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗜𝗘〡𝑟𝑦𝑜 𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑘𝑎 𝑚𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙). From here it's a matter of layout and aesthetics (which are about the easiest part for me), Clan names and details like personalities and some history/culture points, and then territories. Once we're done with that, then it's coming up with a few starting characters, and then it's go time. Save for publishing, none of those other things need to happen in any particular order.

Hi! I've been watching this for a while and I'm 100% down to be involved. Is there anything I can do to help?

I can't say for sure if it will be "heavily" plot driven, but you're welcome to come up with some characters that pop in and out of the story as needed and available with your activity. It looks like we have the base three Clans covered, and though I'm not opposed to considering more it sounds like you're not feeling in a position to make one? But, if you have ideas that would fit into the existing Clans, feel free to suggest them! Few things are yet set in stone here so additional ideas are welcome.

Suits me fine to not dig through backups upon backups for those old files. If, at any point in the planning process, any of you think, "gee, it sure would be fascinating if there was a character that ___________, but I don't want to play it" for one reason or another, it probably is the character for me. Those and passing rogues who think clan territory is full of delicious things.

awesome :) yeah I should start fleshing mine out a bit too.
In terms of name, I do think I've more or less settled on SeedClan, unless we're thinking we want a theme, or there are any other issues with that name.

You could totally give that clan a very primitive understanding of agriculture if they watch the farmers at all. Just enough to cultivate a few low maintenance medicinal herbs.

True. I mean, even in canon some of the cats figure out how to water herbs if I remember correctly, so it is possible that they would have learned to do some really basic things to, if nothing else, keep the herbs alive further into the year and perhaps get some to grow in places that are a bit more... convenient, to them.
Hm. I think actually I want to have part of the camp, or somewhere nearby, be the remnants of a small garden. I'm thinking that their camp is the ruins of a very old barn or maaaybe and small, simple house, but there's not much left of it anymore besides a few rotting wooden walls and part of the foundation.

Okay, so I'm making sort of a little "Clan form" just to categorize parts of the Clan for myself... feel free to use it to organize your ideas or not.
Potential Names: SeedClan, HayClan, PlowClan [possibly name the Clan after the StarClan medicine cat]
History: The story of this Clan begins much more recently than that of its two neighbors, so much so that even some of the young warriors may speak of the founders as cats they once knew rather than those who have passed to history. Once upon a moon, the other two Clans feared the farmland, the twolegs and their livestock that lived there, and rarely would venture there. Yet, this didn't stop cats from living there- farm cats, barn cats, loners and rogues that lived in the twisted bushes along the fences, or hunted mice in the orchard. Over the moons, these cats saw the Clans, and interacted with them, and learned about them. Eventually, a sickness swept through the forest, killing many of the loners and rogues that lived here. Once cat, [name], noticed that the Clans seemed far less effected by the disease. Remembering the stories they had heard about StarClan, the warrior ancestors that the Clans called to in their times of need, [name] too chose to plead to the ancestors for a way to help- theirs or the Clans, any who may give them an answer. In their dreams, they were visited not only by the spirit of their dead mother, but she brought with her another cat: [name], a former medicine cat of [Clan]. [medicine cat] taught [name] about the sickness, and what herbs they could use to treat it. [name] gathered many of the sick cats of the farmland to the run-down ruin of an old house in a forgotten glen near the farm, where the remains of an herb garden left over from the twolegs who once lived here provided easy access to medicine. To [name]'s pleasure, the advice from [medicine cat] worked! As they recovered, many of the cats asked where [name] had learned about the cure, and so [name] told them about StarClan and [medicine cat], and what they knew of the Clans. Some cats suggested that they stay, and before long the idea was seeded that perhaps they should even start their own Clan.
Of course, it was no easy path from there. [name] agreed, and went to the other Clans for their blessing and advice. Though there were some members of the old Clans who were excited to see a new one form and eager to teach these cats about the path of a warrior, for the most part they were met with hostility and disdain. Regardless, enough cats supported them that they were able to learn about Clan hierarchy, culture, and the warrior code. (how exactly this process worked, how many cats supported them, if in secret and such, I'll leave up to you guys). Still, even several generations later, this Clan is still somewhat at a disadvantage to the others. Their loyalties are not as deeply ingrained, and their young have more of a tendency to question their elders, as they are not as much steeped in moons of tradition. Of course, this isn't always a bad thing, but it means that at times the Clan can seem less stable than the older ones. Also, though their first warriors were somewhat trained by sympathetic members of the old Clans, their training was not as thorough, and thus this Clans' fighting techniques are not quite as honed. Finally, they tend to be more trusting than the other Clans, both of outsiders and of their own members; they are not guarded against those who would manipulate them or seek to take power for personal gain, and have yet to learn these lessons the hard way.
(as an alternative to the StarClan medicine cat teaching the founder about medicine, they could have asked the other Clans for help, and perhaps they would have provided it. I didn't particularly want to give either Clan more of a sway in founding this Clan than the other, though, just because that would probably effect their current relationship still and I didn't want to give one Clan an "advantage" so to speak haha. But that could change.)
Personality: Because of the way they were founded, the cats of this Clan tend to be more devoted to StarClan than perhaps any other, which may be ironic considering their warrior ancestors are fewer and more recent than the other Clans. Because of this, and because of the help from [medicine cat] despite borders, the cats of this Clan praise and seek the guidance of all warrior ancestors equally, regardless of Clan. They take guidance from StarClan- prophecies or advice- very seriously, and the medicine cat in the Clan has nearly as much power- if not more in some ways- than the leader. Other than their spirituality, this Clan is an open and friendly one. They believe in helping others where they can, as they were once helped, and thus they have no problem opening their camp or territory to outsiders, especially during the harshest moons when prey is scarce elsewhere but they remain well-fed. Curiosity, questions, and learning are always encouraged, and though they seek to emulate Clan culture and traditions as well as possible, they do not shy away from asking not only how things are done, but why they are done that way. Of course, this means that the other Clans often see them as uppity and perhaps a bit disrespectful, which causes frequent conflict between them. Cats from this Clan are also far more willing than the others to make friends or take mates outside of their own Clan, and while this is discouraged, it is perhaps not quite as discouraged here as it is elsewhere. The plus side of their eagerness to learn and question, however, is that of the three Clans, this one is perhaps the most developed in their medicinal practices, despite their short history- not by a whole lot, but enough that cats very rarely die from sickness, and have a tendency to stay healthy and live a little bit longer than in the other Clans.
Appearance: Cats from this Clan tend to be fairly large, both in stature and in general weight. Health and easy access to prey means cats can grow larger faster, and stay that way. The other Clans might call them fat and weak, and this wouldn't be entirely incorrect; they certainly tend to be a little heavier, and their muscles aren't quite as lean, defined, and well-developed, considering they tend to put a lot less effort than the other Clans into catching their prey. Of course, this doesn't mean that these cats are weak- they are strong and hardy, and their sturdy bodies can take a lot of punishment, especially because their bodies are a bit more, well padded, so to speak, than most other forest cats. Their pelts are typically quite sleek and thick, and rarely puffy, thin, or wispy; however, they can come in any length. For whatever reason, the majority of cats in this Clan are bi-color. Black and white, of course, is the most common, but ginger and white, gray and white, and brown and white also occur frequently, and calicos aren't unheard of. There are few solid-colored cats, though some may be more white, and some may be more of another color, but most at least have significant parts of their lower body colored white (rather than, for example, only white paws) or, if they are almost entirely white, have at least colored ears and tail-tips. Solid-colored cats aren't entirely unheard of, especially if they or one of their parents were born outside the Clan, but they are certainly in the minority. For one reason or another, the spotted gene is just very strong in the Clan.
Territory: A fairly small family farm. It's still large in the fact that it consists of many large, open fields and pastures, but small in the sense that it's not an industrial farm, so most fields are an acre or two as opposed to hundreds of acres. - The farmhouse - a large farmhouse and surrounding yard where the twolegs, their house dogs, and their house cats live. Clan cats mostly leave this area alone, though they may hunt here on occasion, and try to maintain an amiable relationship with the house cats. - The cattle barn - an old barn somewhat near the farmhouse, connected to a large, open pasture where the cattle graze. The barn consists of several milking stations and feeding stations on the bottom floor, with a hay and feed-filled loft where lots of mice live. It's a good place for hunting, but cats do have to be careful not to be accidentally stepped on while passing through the bottom floor. Cats often take some of the hay from the loft to use in their nests. There is also a pair of large farm dogs that live in the field with the cattle; they don't present an issue to the cats as long as the cats don't seem threatening to the cattle in any way.
- The chicken coop - the chickens here are free-range, but they do have a coop they go back to to roost each night. It is a large coop near the farmhouse and the barn. Most chickens don't wander terribly far from here, but occasionally a young, wayward hen or uppity rooster might be seen as far away as the orchard. For the most part cats don't mess with the chickens- if they kill too many of them, the twolegs start to get upset. Still, they might occasionally take one down if times are tough or it presents too tempting a target, as an infrequent, delectable feast. - The crop fields - four large, open fields of rotating crops; a different crop is planted in each field every year, with a different one being left bare every year to replenish itself. [I'll figure out the crops later, and I'll make a map at some point to figure out how the cats would identify/label the different fields] - The hog pen - [pigs live here; smells bad and the pigs are dangerous, cats generally steer clear, but there is prey so they may go there when times are tough. Apprentices also sometimes like to dare each other to go here]
- The stable - [horses] - The orchard - [the orchard between this Clan's territory and the forest Clans'. Probably an apple orchard but I would have to do some research] - The forest - a narrow strip of open woodland between the crop fields and the lake's edge. The Clan cats don't hunt here that often because it is rather barren of prey comparative to the rest of their territory. They mainly hunt here while the fields are being worked in, and apprentices must take assessments here (after all, if they can find prey here, they can find prey anywhere on the territory). Shared with the lake Clan during leafbare when the lake is frozen over.
Camp: This Clan's camp sits in the ruins of what used to be a twoleg nest long ago. Now, the only thing that really remains is parts of the stone foundation and some of the rotting wooden beams and some cinder blocks that used to make up the walls. Much of the house is overgrown with grasses, bushes, and vines, but the Clan still uses the guidelines of what used to be rooms to designate areas of camp, rather than individual dens. Nearby, where the yard used to be, is a mess of herbs and a few vegetable plants that grow every year.
Plot(s):
Other:
So, I don't really feel like doing layers and layers of research just to figure out what crops would actually grow in this area and how, so I'm gonna take the surface level research that seems believable but is probably partially incorrect lol. So.... I'm thinking the crops usually grown are gonna be corn, cabbage, and alfalfa, with buckwheat as a rotating "cover crop." Vegetables growing in the twolegs' personal garden as well as near the camp could be things like pumpkins, peppers, tomatoes, peas & beans, okra, onions and garlic, just to give the cats some additional, potential plant/farm names.

I'm cackling today because a while ago my friend asked if I could make him art of his larp character, and I was like, "you gonna pay me?" and he's like "no" so I just recolored clip art of an old lady doing, like, a high kick (he's got long gray hair he always wears in a bun and so we call him an old lady... it's his nickname in our group chat). And anyways today he sends up a screenshot (he works online) and he's like "yeah my manager is really confused by my new profile pic" and it's that friggin image lmao
I love it when I make dumb crap and then other people use it for equally dumb crap.
Bonus, we're fostering a pit and he was (jokingly) being like "oh pit bulls are evil" so I made a new version that's the old lady high kicking really cute clip art of a pit bull
which means we got this comment in the group chat: "yeah, my profile pic is actually the puppy kicking version"

Go for it ^^ let me know if you have any comments on mine. Other than deciding for sure on a name, getting the last history bits in place, and finishing the territory/camp, I think mine is mostly done, so I'm gonna work on a tentative layout for shiggles, bc I like doing layouts. I'm gonna make it fairly simple and without a whole lot of, like, background images or anything bc my internet is slow and images are difficult for it lol. We can do a banner of some kind for each Clan later tho, that shouldn't be too much.

Spitballing here, as it were, but a few ideas. Whether or not it feels right with what you have in mind is more important than whether the idea is good, so only take these up if you're really enthralled by the idea. Of course, it was no easy path from there. [name] agreed, and went to the other Clans for their blessing and advice. Though there were some members of the old Clans who were excited to see a new one form and eager to teach these cats about the path of a warrior, for the most part they were met with hostility and disdain. But that could change.) I would assume, based on the close proximity of the Clans, that the original two would have had muckle experience dealing with the rogues. I imagine too that it would be particularly nasty around harvesting season when the fields get scythed to ribbons. Rogues under no code would have absolutely no problem waltzing into Clan territory to supplement their diet if they thought they could get away with it - right when the Clans' prey would be starting to thin out. This will be up to Oatstripe and 𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗜𝗘〡𝑟𝑦𝑜 𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑘𝑎 𝑚𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙 , but the Clans would have had some incentive to "civilize" the cats on the border to form a sort of buffer against the lawless rogues. It would also lend fuel to the hawkish elements in either original Clan, who would have gotten to listen to elders' harrowing tales growing up. Every disagreement, every sign of internal friction, would signal to them that the farm cats were about to break up into lawless rogues again. Whether it was StarClan or otherwise, if the Clans wanted the buffer, the epidemic would have opened up a fantastic opportunity for somebody to take the initiative and start the process. Regardless, enough cats supported them that they were able to learn about Clan hierarchy, culture, and the warrior code. (how exactly this process worked, how many cats supported them, if in secret and such, I'll leave up to you guys). This would be another call for Oatstripe and 𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗜𝗘〡𝑟𝑦𝑜 𝑎𝑠𝑢𝑘𝑎 𝑚𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑎𝑙 , but exiles might be a solution here (and would also tie a lot of the previous block together). One from each Clan would solve the balance issue. Clans wouldn't have much reason to teach a potential rival how to fight them. Much less so if they're skittish about the stability of the new Clan. And exile or two, who are pure-blooded Clan cats, who may or may not feel like their Clanmates let them down more than the system did, would have plenty of reason to make sure their new home is plenty strong and bring with them the essential knowledge a new Clan needs. They don't even have to be freshly exiled, or young, or even the ones to initiate the process for this to work (but they can be...). Cats from this Clan are also far more willing than the others to make friends or take mates outside of their own Clan, and while this is discouraged, it is perhaps not quite as discouraged here as it is elsewhere. Forbidden love stories are, as far as I'm concerned, boring, overdone, and a perfect excuse for two exiles from two Clans to be available to help the new Clan get going (while demonstrating to them to be less harsh on the impassioned). I wonder whether or not it's a little...much?...if they use (or used for a brief period) ailing rogues who didn't join as test subject for herbs they plucked out of the farmer's garden. I don't think medicine cats in most clans would be able to learn anything new, but an overzealous medicine cat claiming divine protection with some expendable subjects just might. Especially if the other clans just don't happen to find out about it. If that's a little unpleasant, they could instead have the advantage of having a wide variety of folk remedies from a motley group of rogues, which can grow whenever a traveler gets waylaid and interrogated for interesting information. Apparently, cats can eat oats and oats grow pretty much anywhere. Cats apparently like millet, too, although it needs warm weather.

I like all those suggestions, some of them were somewhat what I was going for anyways but more overtly explained lol. The ones regarding the other Clans are up to the other two; that's why I didn't specifically mention who/how/to what degree the other Clans were involved in the new Clan's training/development.
As for the medicine thing, that was sort of my intention. I figured that, yeah they would have a lot more access to different knowledge from cats all over (like you said), and though I doubt that they would use non-Clan cats as "test subjects" I feel like their curiosity and willingness to question things means that medicine cats probably have ideas and theories on related herbs and things they could be used for, which means that a) they may discover additional uses for existing herbs/better ways to use them, and b) they would be more willing to use "experimental" treatments in desperate situations, because heck, at a certain point it's either gonna kill a dead cat faster or it'll cure them. Couple that with easy access to herbs, it means that medicine is more readily available in general (leading to better health, because unlike the other Clans they can afford to use them to just... bolster their members' strength throughout the year, instead of limiting them to only treatments, plus medicine isn't as scarce in winter, so, less deaths from illness), and medicine cats are more willing to use them experimentally because their resources aren't as restricted.
Of course, the herb thing might not always be all good. It would mean that they're definitely more dependent on medicine (for one), which means it would be an awful shame if something were to happen to their supply at some point. And also, with a lower death rate, the Clan may very well become overpopulated, which could lead to social issues, prey issues, or any other number of problems. But, that one's a bit more complicated and also somewhat dependent on the actual number of characters that end up in the Clan lmao.
Overall, the "longer lifespans" is really more like... fewer kits die, and elders can live a year or two longer, maybe, than most wildcats? And cats might be healthy enough that they don't have to retire as early? But in the end it's really more of a flavor thing because people don't really play elders often, and there usually aren't a ton of deaths in rps even if the health isn't supposed to be good.
Oh, as a side note, I'm also editing in one more section on my "Clan form" for cats' appearances, so that we can make sure each Clan looks at least a little distinct lol.

ooooh i wanna do one of those form things as well! lets get to it then :} im tired rn and its like 12:30 so i prolly wont do much atm but whfdgkdg whatEVER
Potential Names: i cant think of Any names i like. algaeclan, rippleclan, billowclan, shoreclan, shellclan, drizzleclan, torrentclan, floodclan, blah . i dont know. 10/26 update: i think im going to go with algaeclan, after the founder, algae bloom. speaking of leaders lets get down to history History: the clan originated years ago, when sailors leaving the mainland needed an easy place to dump stray cats. the turned to a series of small islands near an old lighthouse and fishing pier. eventually, the cat population grew, and as the cats competed for resources, they decided to instead form together under the common goal of trying to survive. as the years passed, the loose band of rogues grew acclimated to the water and to swimming long distances, easily being able to cross to the mainland in a short amount of time. however, they began to run into trouble; on the mainland, specifically in the forests, were more cats. the island cats frequently got into quarrels with the cats in the forest, especially during the winter, which led to unnecessary and avoidable war and death. however, under the leadership of a cat named algae bloom and a few of her closest confidants, under guidance from a group of their ancestors, the lake cats were able to formally unite under one system and come to a more peaceful agreement with the forest cats. this'll obviously get edited in the case of oatstripe wanting to do something else because the two clans kind of have a united history, but until then this is what im jotting down. and im gonna put a list of leaders in a spoiler
Personality: positive - ❈ careful ❈ independent ❈ resourceful negative - ❈ uncompromising ❈ unpredictable ❈ secretive
algaeclan cats are known to be famously independent and mysterious. they make their home a distance away from the other clans; their camp is difficult to invade and the majority of their territory is hard to get to anyways. because of this, they remain diligent when it comes to keeping their mainland borders patrolled, as those areas are the ones that have the least amount of protection from the water. the cats are fiercely protective of their clan; they rarely accept help from other clans and unfrequently help the other clans. they prefer to stay in isolation, and tend to only get involved in issues when their own livelihood is at stake. most cats from algaeclan have a special disdain for their farm clan neighbors; they believe them to be too much like kittypets, while the lake cats pride themselves on their loner and rogue history. they aren't exactly aggressive, but they aren't the most friendly of cats. they're stubborn in their beliefs and it is extremely difficult to get them to give up on their course of action. Appearance: mostly large cats with thick pelts that are able to resist both the cold and water. cats with thinner pelts are much less likely to survive their first leafbare, considering the copious amounts of snow that the clan gets, however, there are a few thin-pelted cats that make it. algaeclan cats typically are extremely well-built and strong; mothers teach their kits to swim in the shallow waters during greenleaf to acclimate in the water, and in return, the cats grow up with strong leg muscles and paws and lots of endurance. swimming exercises are an essential part of algaeclan life. unlike the farm cats, their weight mostly comes from their muscle mass. tabbies, spots, and other patterned pelts are most common in algaeclan, especially pelts in darker colors like browns, dark gingers, blacks, and smoky greys. Territory: this map kinda sucks bc i threw it together rly quick but OH well idc
the main territory is divided up on 4 islands, all named after local fish. goby island, where camp is located, is the largest island, consisting of several landmarks, such as pike's ledges, several relatively steep cliffs which drop into the lake, and watersnake point, a small peninsula where snakes and other creatures make their home. the rocky beach of mudpuppy shoals is also on this island, and it is a good starting place for apprentice training and the sandy beach nearby makes for good hunting. the forested area around the island is also nice territory for birds and small mammals. mudminnow islet, the smallest island, is home to the walleye wood, which, surprisingly to some cats, is one of the more dangerous islands, rumored to home poisonous snakes and other dangerous critters like owls and eagles. this island is connected to bluegill island, the second largest island. crossing to bluegill would be easy, however, only senior warriors are allowed to pass through mudminnow, and so getting to bluegill usually takes longer for newer warriors and apprentices, as they have to cross over from bowfin. logperch forest is similar in environment to the woods on goby, however, unlike goby, logperch forest is rich in herbal remedies and has certain plants that can only be found on the island (in fact, all of the islands do have specific island-specific herbs). on the north side of the island there are several more steep cliffs which may pose a danger to cats. the third largest is bowfin isle, an island with a large beach, a small wood, and interesting landforms like small valleys and hills that seem to be carved out ages ago. despite the several islands housing small forests, during the winter, most prey is scarce. when the water of the lake freezes over, the cats are able to easily cross to the Mainland, usually crossing at Bullfrog Beach. The Twolegs also have an abandoned pier and Lighthouse on the shore of the Mainland, which cats find adventure in exploring on occasion. Whitetail Wood is technically part of the forest territory that does not belong to them, but the Clan is allowed to hunt there during the leafbare, and considers it part of their territory. Camp: the camp is located in a small, sheltered area in a hollow in the forest of goby island. the dens are in highly protected areas; small caves that naturally formed years ago or have been dug out by ancient cats, and large, hollow tree trunks and rock formations. the most important thing about the dens in camp is that they can withstand storms and intense blizzards and snowfall. however, no cat can predict the weather, and the clan has even gotten snowed into their dens on occasion.
Plot(s): we'll get there

Maybe you'll have a better idea for a name once you've got some of the other Clan info figured out. Either way, I like the map! If I can ever get Inkarnate to load with my garbage internet I'll make my own XD It's being super duper slow.... we ran out of data for the month so our speed is really bottlenecked >:( I may end up having to draw mine by hand lol. Which should be fine... it won't be that complicated... it's just so much work XD and my friend will get "mad" at me because I have continent maps I'm supposed be doing as ~work~ :')

I'm learning how to do them "professionally" (as much as one can... professionally freelance tabletop work, I guess) and it gives you a lot more freedom because you're not constrained to tools, BUT ALSO, Inkarnate is so much faster (when it loads) and is also much better for close-ups. I'm great at, like, entire continents. I'm not so good at like, cities or local area maps, heh. So, that's what I more use Inkarnate for.
- but it won't looooaaaadd ---- the goshdERN TReEEEEEEEEES -
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
....yeah it's not gonna load right. I'm just gonna do it by hand.
On the upside, I did see the bamboo and cherry blossom assets they added... those are super cool.
agh I'm so bad at close up maps by hand.... why am i like this

so.... trying to draw this map rn on top of all the other bs I'm trying to do is giving me anxiety so I'm just gonna do a really, really, really basic shapes map for the time being and then at the beginning of November when our data resets I'm gonna try and do an Inkarnate map then. Unless I get around to doing a nicer map by hand by then but I doubt it.
Other than that, I'm considering naming the Clan after the StarClan medicine cat and using probably a flower prefix (it just seems appropriate?) but I'm undecided on that. For Clan banners I'm thinking we could do either pawprint banners like this:
a Clan symbol banners like this:
or possibly a silhouette something like this:
but it's of course kind of up to you guys and if you have any particular banner ideas that you wanna do.

I like the clan symbol banner! It looks really cool. But whatever you and five wanna do is all good!
I'm working on the form right now, and I'm trying to finish it up before I have to go because unfortunately, I don't usually have access to the internet on the weekends, but if I don't get finished today, I'll most definitely get it finished on Monday.

~Absol~Wolf~Scribe~ welcome!
There's a couple more questions to consider in regards to the Clans as a whole; in particular, what do we want to do for their Gathering place and their sacred place? We could make those places one and the same, but we don't have to.

if you use a flower/plant prefix i think it would be very cool if we all used plant based names? im thinking of going with algaeclan so i think it would be neat if we had like a forest plant name, a water plant name, and like a fields/farm flower/plant name. ye.

Working on the layout and info for my Clan. Let me know if you have any suggestions/issues with things like the set up, joining form, or anything else.
SeedClan
The story of this Clan begins much more recently than that of its two neighbors, so much so that even some of the young warriors may speak of the founders as cats they once knew rather than those who have passed to history. Once upon a moon, the other two Clans feared the farmland, the twolegs and their livestock that lived there, and rarely would venture there. Yet, this didn't stop other cats from living there- farm cats, barn cats, loners and rogues that lived in the twisted bushes along the fences, or hunted mice in the orchard. And over the moons, these cats saw the Clans, and interacted with them, and learned about them.
Eventually, a sickness swept through the forest, killing many of the loners and rogues that lived here. Once cat, Wren, noticed that the Clans seemed far less effected by the disease. Remembering the stories they had heard about StarClan, the warrior ancestors that the Clans called to in their times of need, Wren too chose to plead to the ancestors for a way to help- his or the Clans', any who may give him an answer. In his dreams, he was visited not only by the spirit of his dead mother, but she brought with her another cat: Shadebreeze, a former medicine cat of one of the old Clans, though Wren never knew which. Shadebreeze taught Wren about the sickness, and what herbs they could use to treat it. Wren gathered many of the sick cats of the farmland to the run-down ruin of an old house in a forgotten glen near the farm, where the remains of an herb garden left over from the twolegs who once lived here provided easy access to medicine. To Wren's pleasure, the advice from Shadebreeze worked! As they recovered, many of the cats asked where Wren had learned about the cure, and so he told them about StarClan and Shadebreeze, and what they knew of the Clans. Some cats suggested that they stay, and before long the idea was seeded that perhaps they should even start their own Clan.
Of course, it was no easy path from there. Wren agreed, and went to the other Clans for their blessing and advice. Though there were some members of the old Clans who were excited to see a new one form and eager to teach these cats about the path of a warrior, for the most part they were met with hostility and disdain. Regardless, enough cats supported them that they were able to learn about Clan hierarchy, culture, and the warrior code.
About SeedClan
Because of the way they were founded, the cats of this Clan tend to be more devoted to StarClan than perhaps any other, which may be ironic considering their warrior ancestors are fewer and more recent than the other Clans. Because of this, and because of the help from Shadebreeze despite borders, the cats of SeedClan praise and seek the guidance of all warrior ancestors equally, regardless of Clan. They take guidance from StarClan- prophecies or advice- very seriously, and the medicine cat in the Clan has nearly as much power- if not more in some ways- than the leader.
Beyond their spirituality, SeedClan is an open and friendly one.
The plus side of their eagerness to learn, question, and experiment, however, is that of the three Clans, this one is perhaps the most developed in their medicinal practices, despite their short history. This deeper understanding of the versatility of medicinal herbs, as well as their easy access to them, and the prevelance of prey in their territory, means that these cats tend to stay a little healthier and stronger longer into their lives than many other wild cats, though this also means they are more dependant on medicine than the other Clans.
Cats from SeedClan tend to be fairly large, both in stature and in general weight. Health and easy access to prey means cats can grow larger faster, and stay that way. The other Clans often call them fat and weak, and this wouldn't be entirely incorrect; they certainly tend to be a little heavier, and their muscles aren't quite as lean, defined, and well-developed, considering they tend to put a lot less effort than the other Clans into catching their prey. Of course, this doesn't mean that these cats are weak- they are strong and hardy, and their sturdy bodies can take a lot of punishment, especially because their bodies are a bit more well-padded, so to speak, than most other forest cats. Their pelts are typically quite sleek and thick, and rarely thin or wispy; however, they can come in any length.
For whatever reason, the majority of cats in this Clan are bi-color. Black and white, of course, is the most common, but ginger and white, gray and white, and brown and white also occur frequently, and calicos aren't unheard of. There are few solid-colored cats, though some cats may be more white, and some may be more of another color, but most at least have significant parts of their lower body colored white (rather than, for example, only white paws) or, if they are almost entirely white, have at least colored ears and tail-tips. Solid-colored cats aren't entirely unheard of, especially if they or one of their parents were born outside the Clan, but they are certainly in the minority. For one reason or another, the spotted gene is just very strong in the Clan.

》Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
》 Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
》Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
》Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
》A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
》Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
》A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
》The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
》After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
》A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
》Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
》No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
》The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
》An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
》A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
》Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.
Territory & Camp
A fairly small family farm. It's still large in the fact that it consists of many large, open fields and pastures, but small in the sense that it's not an industrial farm, so most fields are an acre or two as opposed to hundreds of acres. 》The farmhouse - a large farmhouse and surrounding yard where the twolegs, their house dogs, and their house cats live. Clan cats mostly leave this area alone, though they may hunt here on occasion, and try to maintain an amiable relationship with the house cats.
》The shed -
》The cattle barn - an old barn somewhat near the farmhouse, connected to a large, open pasture where the cattle graze.
》The chicken coop - the chickens here are free-range, but they do have a coop they go back to to roost each night.
》The crop fields - four large, open fields of rotating crops; a different crop is planted in each field every year- corn, alfalfa, cabbage, and buckwheat.
》The hog house - [pigs live here; smells bad and the pigs are dangerous, cats generally steer clear, but there is prey so they may go there when times are tough. Apprentices also sometimes like to dare each other to go here]
》The orchard - the apple orchard that lies between this Clan and the forest Clan.
》White-tail Forest - a narrow strip of open woodland between the crop fields and the lake's edge.
This Clan's camp sits in the ruins of what used to be a twoleg nest long ago.

Leader
Halfstar 52 moons old. | Tom. large, broad-shouldered black and white tom with yellow-green eyes. Exactly half his face on the right is black, while the other half is white, giving him his name. His legs are white, and his back is covered with large black splotches, and his tail is entirely black. His pelt is medium in length but very thick and shiny. Halfstar is a quiet, almost socially awkward cat; though noble, wise, and well-respected, and more than capable of making the hard decisions, it seems that often times the small talk and minor interactions get the better of him, making him a bit... personally distant from his Clanmates. Though on the outside he always appears stern and resolute in his decisions, he is constantly wracked with self-doubt; no matter how many times he proves his worth, he always wonders if he was truly the right choice for this. Halfstar is a fairly new leader; the previous leader, Dovestar, died very suddenly very shortly after Halfnight was made deputy. He has only been leader for a few moons, and is still very much adjusting to the role. [family/relationships] Aphelyon

if you use a flower/plant prefix i think it would be very cool if we all used plant based names? im thinking of going with algaeclan so i think it would be neat if we had like a forest plant name, a water plant name, and like a fields/farm flower/plant name. ye. I'm certainly not opposed to the idea. SeedClan could possibly work for that, thematically, since while not a flower it would be plant-based. I feel like SeedClan is a very good name for a Clan just starting out, and I imagine the founders could have picked the name both for that reason and- if both the other Clans have plant-based names- to help them fit in with the other two. I can come up with some other flower/plant ideas as well:
- MintClan. Perhaps the disease that brought them together was greencough, and the medicine cat taught them about catmint. Thus, choosing this name to reflect their medicinal roots and to honor her (though her prefix was probably not Mint).
- WheatClan. Not a flower, but one of the crops grown on the farm. No real historical/thematic tie.
