What's the point of Clans living close together if one of them attacks one another?
It makes no sense. Starclan wanted unity for all clans but I dont see any unity, unless all five merge together into one clan that is.
Why can't the clans just seperate far away from eachother so all of them would be safe from eachother?

the meta answer is because the hunters weren't thinking that hard about their premise when they first made the series and now they've made too lucrative a cash cow to go back and make drastic changes. changing it so there was reasonable space between them would cut down on the clan conflicts that they kinda just toss in there once in a while when a book is getting a little too slow in the middle.

Maybe they're like college sororities/fraternities. Like, they're rivals, but they still are part of the same college.
Or maybe the Hogwarts houses would be a better example, I don't know.
It would be interesting if all the clans merged together though

Maybe they like being separate Clans but they like having each other close by for unity in numbers. I mean if they were separate, like how SkyClan was for so many years, they were driven away by Darktail easily. Having so many Clans together allows them to be feared more by outsiders (like how neighboring cats always call them vicious warriors). And then obviously for plot and fights between the Clans, cause what else are they going to write about with nearly 100 books already out?

its bc the erins need drama, obviously. like in the og series it made sense bc it was kind of implied the clans didnt have anywhere else to live (plus the skystar stuff in dotc) but after they moved to the lake there's no real excuse for it anymore bc theres plenty of unclaimed land around their current territories they could live in. exhibit a in why the move to the lake was a bad idea narratively

It always infuriated me to no end how the Clans constantly yabbered about their food being stolen when half of the time ThunderClan feeds other Clans or StarClan forces the others to help.
Like... they can just remove borders and 99% of their Clan "problems" would be fixed

People making ridiculous choices in the name of "defending their culture". It happens in real life too.
