Bramblestar just doesn't know how to treat the cat he supposedly loves, Squirrelflight. He has his moments, sure, but they are few and far between. I feel really bad for Squirrelflight
What do you think about this character and Bramble X Squirrel?

I think everyone knows I've hated this ship from the very beginning, even before it started, I disliked it.
As for Bramblestar
He has his good moments, and his bad moments, but most of the time, he's just there, nothing about him stands out to me.
I didn't like him in The New Prophecy because he was bossy, irritating, only seemed to care about being deputy.
In The Power of Three, he was really nice, and a loving mate
It's like he doesn't even have a personality, his personality is, being whatever fits for the sake of drama.

Bramblestar is one of those characters that gets jerked around really badly, depending on what they need for the plot. I feel like he and Leafpool might have it the worst out of the whole cast, but YMMV. In the second half of TNP, he's suddenly obsessed with having a relationship with Hawkfrost and training with Tigerstar even though that goes against all of his previous characterisation. POT!Brambleclaw is pretty good, OOTS!Brambleclaw is ... okay, I suppose, and honestly the bigger victims in that whole mess are Squirrelflight and Leafpool. AVOS!Bramblestar makes no sense because he was traditionally characterised as being more aggressive than Firestar and totally would have been willing to go to war to keep Twigkit and Violetkit together, and SqH!Bramblestar is just The Worst, even more so than in the worst moments of TNP.
I love Bramblepaw and the Brambleclaw in the first half of TNP and POT, as well as the BrambleSquirrel we see in those moments. But he's so frustrating in the rest of the series because I know he can be a good character, but the editors are just more interested in DramaTM than they are in consistent characterisation. The problems of being invested in a plot-driven series, I suppose.

Honestly, in the current situation of the new SE, I side with Bramble, and I don't even like him. But I think Squirrelflight pulled a lot of irresponsible stunts in that book, and they shouldn't be brushed under the rug just because they're mates. Yeah, it's fine to feel sorry for her, I do, but that doesn't excuse her actions, and how many times she messed up. It's for the greater good, sure, but there were definitely other ways she could have gone about the situation. She wasn't acting like a deputy should have. Relationship wise...it doesn't help that she has less faith in Bramble's loyalty to her than I thought. Fearing he'd really just up and get with another she-cat when he could have just done that way back in BrS, but didn't. On top of that, he clearly wasn't comfortable with the idea of having more kits, at least not yet, and despite that he was willing to bend just to make her feel better. But as she noted, at least, she wanted him to at least be willing to want more too, just like her. Not all relationships are rainbows and gumdrops, some have conflicts, and that's okay. If the partners can solve them, then that's a plus and shows that their relationship won't break over something so minor. Actually...not minor, some of these things are pretty major tbh. If you actually want to see Bramble being an actual jerk then look at Possessed!Bramble instead.

BramblexSquirrel was cute at the beginning of TNP. But it was just so cliche that Tigerstars son fell in love with Firestars daughter. But to be honest, after the ‘Holly, Jay and Lion aren’t my kits’ situation, they shouldn’t have gotten back together! My main problem with the ship is that Bramblestar having a mate contradicts his character! I personally saw him as putting his clan before anything else, and he never really returned the affection that Squirrelflight gave him. I just don’t think having a relationship is his main priority.

BrambleSquirrel had POENTIAL to be a good ship, but then Vicky's drama b*ner came around and reared its ugly head and turned it into one of the most unhealthy Thunderclan canon couples imo. Not to mention turning Brambleclaw into a horrible character at that.
And because of that, she basically made this ship have the structure it does, and now even now after Vicky left they stick to that because that's how it's always been, so it's now the foundation for them as a ship to be bad in every way. No communication, no trust, absolutely NO CHEMISTRY WHATSOEVER (And any they did have by any chance is gone now), nothing that is REQUIRED for a good healthy relationship. The only time BrambleSquirrel was a good ship outside the first half of TNP was in the TPoT arc pre-secret, and even THEN that was on the basis of Squirrelflight and Leafpool's secret and was stuffed with so much foreshadowing of it to where it soured the happy BrambleSquirrel moments there, and even after it comes out they don't bother to sit down and talk it out, Bramble instead ignores her for YEARS. He doesn't think "This is something serious that I should talk to the cat I loved about, maybe we can work this out." But NOPE.
They are not a powercouple, I don't understand how folks can think they are. They are toxic and unhealthy with how much they fight and get at eachother's throats, are frustrating as hell now, and should've stayed apart long time ago. If the Erins can't even have them try to be healthy now after all they've been through, then there's no point in having these two characters be together.
And as for Bramblestar, well, you know I dislike him and maybe even hate him. I can't stand him as deputy and leader, I don't think more needs to be said on that.

Can someone actually point out how BrambleSquirrel is toxic? Cause from what Iv'e seen the only real problems that actually happened in their relationship was Bramble wanting to know more about his kin and lying about it, Squirrel lying to Bramble and raising the three with him, and that's about it. Cause with the new SE that's mostly because of Squirrel, again, going behind his back. So I'm confused as to why Bramble is getting the blunt of the blame.

It's because people like her but don't like him. It's annoying how they are doing his character. And not just him, lots of others.

I haven't gotten to AVOS yet, so I don't have a concrete opinion of Bramble as leader. I don't think I've ever hated him, or even disliked him, really. He's just...okay to me, nothing special. Tawnypelt is more interesting.
As for BrambleSquirrel, yea... don't like it. It's cliche, and while I wouldn't say it's toxic (they had some cute scenes), it's unhealthy for the most part. There's definitely trust issues on both sides of the relationship, and their bond was torn apart with all the secrets, lies, and drama that the Erins shoved at them. They shouldn't have gotten back together, imo. There's nothing wrong with having a main couple stay broken up. Sometimes relationships don't work out. Things didn't even have to stay strained between them after the big LeafCrow bomb! Bramble and Squirrel could've reconciled and reformed a friendship or at least be on okay terms with each other.
